My friend referred me to this office. Shes been going here for her dental care for years. Karen the x-ray technician, Robin the dental hygienist, and Dr Benedict made me feel comfortable and they were so friendly and professional. Im going back for a procedure and my stress level is greatly reduced now that I met Dr Benedict.

My tooth got broken Wednesday night and it was cutting on my tongue to a point that I couldn’t eat, drink or swallow! I called almost every on dentist in Tampa on Thursday to try get in that same day and all were booked through the following week, so I couldn’t even do a walk-in. I got so furious and started to cry because I meant I didn’t want to go through the entire weekend in that pain. I searched the internet again and South Tampa Smile popped up and I called and got the receptionist Gina, who was so pleasant and helpful that she even squeezed me in for the Friday..the entire staff is so sweet, I recommend this place to everyone!

Back story....only had one dentist in my life that I loved; and he was in NY! Until now...took awhile but I have finally landed on a great dentistry practice, South Tampa Smiles! They have great appointment availability, friendly and knowledgeable staff who really care about you and your dental health. Reasonable pricing. Treat yourself and spring for the nitrous it makes the appointment like going to a spa! Highly recommend!

As always, great visit for a cleaning. I realized Id forgotten my night guard at home about halfway there and called to let them know I was returning home for it and would be a few minutes late. They were very accommodating and I made it 8 minutes late and the hygienist was ready as soon as I walked thru the door. Robin did a very nice job of cleaning my teeth and taking X-rays. Then I saw the dentist and she was great as well, recommending that I replace my night guard (it had small holes in it after four years 😂). On my way out, the receptionist was very helpful setting up the followup appointments I needed to make. Always smooth and pleasant process having my dental checkups.

This office is truly top notch. Front office is always kind, helpful, professional & reliable. Cheryl is my regular hygienist and though professional & quick she is also kind with a sense of humor. Both Dr John & Dr Rebecca are knowledgeable & professional yet they treat you like family. This group is dedicated & a real find!

I found South Tampa Smiles when I moved to Tampa in 2019. Terrified of going to the dentist from past experiences, I am SO GLAD I found this place. The dentists and all the staff are SO SO NICE. They are nice, quick, and have a very flexible schedule. Opened after 5 and even on Saturdays!

These dentists and hygienists are great! The hygienists are very gentle and I always feel in good hands with the dentists. I used to always need gas when having anything done, but now I dont, but they have it available if I decide I do.

Each of my family members have been a patient at South Tampa Smiles since moving to Tampa in 2013. We have been extremely happy with all services and staff at their office. I highly recommend them as your family dentist. They take insurance as well.

Today’s visit was great! I was terrified to go to the dentist because of past experiences. This place made everything better. Even the phone call was the most pleasant experience! They were able to fit me in as a new patient same day due to a cancellation. I was nervous because it has been years since I’ve trusted someone to take care of my teeth professionally after having unnecessary fillings and once was refused general cleaning because I needed a more expensive specialty cleaning. I was greeted kindly and my hygienist got straight to X-rays and cleaning while explaining everything to me. She was so kind that I felt calm. She was gentle, quick and very detailed, my teeth feel amazing. The dentist was kind and he recognized my concerns but eased them. I got many tips for how to properly care for my teeth and I just can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for helping me today!

Dentist, Dental Hygienist & support Staff all very friendly & prompt. One of my biggest pet peeves about scheduled appts for medical/dental services is that they schedule a patient for a certain time & then you end up sitting in the waiting rm or a back rm for Ages; I’d rather wait @ home & you have me come in @ a later time.. Not an issue @ this place, I was seen right away & the Hygienist began the X-rays & cleaning immediately!! The Dentist saw me expeditiously as well. The service & treatments were great & weren’t over-priced. Definitely making this my permanent Dental office & am returning in a cpl wks to have more work done.

I find going to the dentist both scary and embarrassing (I did not go to the dentist until age 16 and oral care wasnt a part of my growing up). This place put me at ease even though I got some not-so-great news about my teeth. Sheryl was extremely friendly and empathic! I felt comfortable being honest and vulnerable with all the staff there. South Tampa Smiles is the best in town. Dr. C is extremely experienced and makes even the most anxious patients feel at ease. His staff is just as great-very caring, compassionate and patient especially for those like me who don’t like going to the dentist unless it’s only for a cleaning! The office is very inviting and relaxing and conveniently located off Henderson. Appointments are always on time and their service is always prompt. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

They got me an appointment on the weekend which was awesome because I didn’t have to miss work. When entering the office the young ladies at the desk greet you with a pleasant smile. Dr. Rebecca Benedict nurse Christina(hopefully I spelled it correctly) was very knowledgeable and my well being was her concern. She treated me as if I was a family member or close friend. She reassured me everything was going good and just like that my tooth was out. I believe Christina called her the “tooth whisperer”because that was the most painless tooth pulling I have ever had. We started going to South Tampa Smiles since 2014. Growing up, I have phobia with dentists. My first day meeting Dr Cannariato, he was always very warm, accommodating and he always makes me feel less terrified. My last visit, I told him I was nervous but he reassured me everything will be just fine. The time waiting for me is a big deal and they always make sure to keep the appointment schedule, very professional. The clinic is very clean, it smells good. The staff are very nice, my hygienist is awesome! she always greets me with a smile and we do have little talk here and there. For people to care about asking how youve been, your family and whatnot? thats also something for me. I appreciate that a lot. Overall, i highly recommend them. Its the best for me and for my husband too. We dont live in Tampa anymore but we drive just to see them. Thank you so much South Tampa Smiles!

In addition, one of my wife’s co- worker’s has the exact same complaints of him “selling” unnecessary crowns and charging exorbitant prices.To substantiate our bad reviews of (Mr. John Cannariato, aka South Tampa Smiles) my wife went to a REPUTABLE local dentist, who has a 5 star rating from over 1300 reviews, compared to South Tampa Smiles- whom has a +-4 star rating with less than 700 reviews. Today was my first appointment with South Tampa Smiles and am very pleased with how kind and professional everyone was. With all that was done today (X-rays, cleaning, and consultation), my appointment was completed in less than an hour. Also, I am very happy that in spite of current health events, they are still open on Saturdays. As my current work schedule makes it very difficult for weekday appointments, knowing that I can take care of my dental needs on the weekend is fantastic.I definitely would recommend South Tampa Smiles to anyone looking for quality dental care and would like the ability to be flexible in their scheduling as well.

Dr. Benedict is the best dentist I have ever been to! She took her time with me and made sure my front filling was perfect! Dr. Benedict worked with him patiently even though he created many delays and presented opposition. She never grew angry or demanding but reassuringly and sweetly worked with him to get the job done. She and her team are so deserving of praise. Job well done!!!

It was my first appointment with South Tampa Smiles. I had a tooth extra too and prep work for a new tooth in the coming mouths. The Dental tech and the dentist were so nice, so professional. The appointment was an hour plus. The only thing that shocked me was the cost but if you want good health its going to cost you....

Very solid and good experience getting my teeth cleaned. They were ready for me at our scheduled start time and Cheryl was very efficient during the cleaning. Thankfully, not dental issues, and I was done in about half an hour. Very professional and friendly staff too. They make you feel at home.

I believe we have been patients of Dr. C for over 10 years. Recently, we visited his office for cleanings. Robin was as professional and efficient as always making my wife and I feel comfortable during this pandemic. Dr C made sure we were doing OK before we left the office. Appointment was on time, the front office took care of the schedule for next time and the employee who greeted us and set us up for Robins time was very professional, making us both feel at home. After moving from the area a year ago, we come about 30+ miles one way to continue doing business with Dr. C and his group. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a truly professional, efficient and compassionate Dentist!

Had to have a rather unexpected root canal. Never had tooth pain before and I am not the easiest patient to deal with on a good day. Dr . C and his technician (apologies as I did not write down her name) were FABULOUS!. They were calming and explained every step. Everyone is super nice. However, my original quote to finish my implant was $500 the actual cost will be over $1,000. They also advertise teeth whitening for $65 in their new patient packet but the actual cost is $200. This is the only dentist in my network so unfortunately I am stuck using them. Probably would go elsewhere.

I had a great experience today getting my root canal. Odd to say I know but I was so scared to get it done ( first one). It was relatively painless. The most painful part was my jaw being sore from it being opened for so long. Im so glad I went to them! All very nice and quick!!

Dr.Benedict has been absolutely AMAZING! I had an unfortunate accident where I knocked out two of my front teeth and the front office staff got me in immediately on Monday morning. Many dentists in the area make me feel rushed and like I was just there to pay their bills but Dr. Benedict and her dental hygienists Christina and Tracy really went above and beyond to make me feel like a part of the family even making me laugh during my root canal. I really cant say enough about the time that they spent on making me look my best. Dr. Benedict now has a patient for life with me.

I’m love this office. The Dr.’s are amazing, and the staff is incredible. I’ve had so much trouble in the past with dentist’s who I didn’t trust, and made me question the recommended care. I’ve been going here for almost 4 years, and I hope it’s many more. I’ve had everything from a basic cleaning to an implant. Even when I’ve needed to be referred out, the specialist They’ve recommended have been awesome.

Not going back after exam and cleaning!Ghiya, Jay, DMD was in a big rush, examined me extremely briefly, first checked the X-rays, and then checked the teeth that he thinks need work and ignored the rest. Normally my previous doctors would check every single tooth throughout, this time Ghiya, Jay, DMD was only interested in the ones that need work as per X-Rays.The hygienist Jose performed very poor cleaning. He did not use any paste or any products when using an electric brush, again did it so briefly that I still had some plaque. I do a better job with my own electric toothbrush. He flossed my entire mouth with about 1 inch of floss, but I know every tooth is supposed to be flossed with fresh floss. Did flossing half-way between the teeth, quickly. I was not offered to apply fluoride (for the first time for as long as I can remember going to the dentist).
