If I could give this business a zero I would. I called to make an appointment and they said she was too busy and then said someone will call you back and never got a call back so 4 days later I called again and the woman said she’s not taking on new patients. Unprofessional!!!!!

First, let me preface this review with the following. When I left I felt happy that Id received a fair and accurate diagnosis. Dr. Joan T Gewirtz was very thorough and her knowledge was extremely comprehensive. So why the 3 stars ?!?1. Wait time - Im not sure if I caught them on a particularly busy day? But it was almost an 1-1.5hr after my booked appointment time before I got to see her. Ive experienced a number of doctors that run late, but this was definitely the worst Ive experienced. If youre in a rush; or trying to squeeze this in during the work day just be warned!2. I felt a little bit rushed into things. Dr. Joans knowledge is definitely extremely comprehensive. After some initial examination she went on to make a fairly detailed prognosis but, when trying to ask questions/understand in laymans terms, she was very short and brusque in her manner. I dont think she was being deliberately rude, but it was easy to misinterpret. I did not feel insulted, but it was a little vexing. Additionally, whilst this was a recommended course of treatment, I felt rushed into collagen punctal plugs. I hadnt really had an opportunity to think about it before they were inserted. Im sure it will help, but I dont feel as though Id had time to digest the information/asks questions (see previous) before making a decision.Anyway. Nothing terribly bad. Just allow plenty of time and be sure to ask/digest information.

I was suffering of red, itchy, and watery eyes. When I visited Dr. Gewirtz she pointed out that most likely I was staring to monitors for long periods of time, causing a small blockage in my lacrimal punctum (I can’t recall the exact name). Dr. Gewirtz quickly cleared the blockage, put some small tubs where the blockage was (lets call them that), and gave me a few tips to prevent this issue from occurring again. What else could I ask for?Im very thankful to Dr. Gewirtz. Same day appointment, knowledgeable, and caring. Best medical experience in the US so far. Thank you, doctor.
