23 years ago at age 38, Dr Morris repaired my ACL after an indoor soccer injury. I quit playing soccer, but was able to continue coaching. After a year, I was skiing, but for a very long time I’d wince and startle every time I’d catch an edge. I tried to keep rock climbing, but couldn’t high step anymore, so I gradually got out of that sport. I had always ran for conditioning and continued to do so. High stepping wasn’t needed for Mountain Climbing, so I climbed Mt Rainer with a friend when I was 48. Sometime after that, I started running real distances, and have ran 3 Marathon’s and countless Half’s, 5 K’s, 10k’s, and trail runs. I got up to about 40 miles per week during training. I also started skiing a bunch more and have had a season pass at Whistler for the last 20 years. I’ve gone between 25 and 50 plus days each season. More recently,I’ve gotten into backcountry skiing as well. I also do Nordic skiing, but will wait till I get really old for that...My knee rehab was long and hard, and it’s never been the same - but always good enough. It swells sometimes, hurts quite often, but I’ve always been able to play on. Along with my marriage, the birth of my kids, and climbing El Capitan, the successful repair of my knee stands out as a major milestone. For someone that needs to be active, a tight knee is extremely important. I highly recommend Dr Morris, and the Virginia Sports Medicine Clinic!
