I had a great experience getting a contact lens fitting (first time) and general eye exam.Just make sure if youre going to get your eyes dilated youre prepared to be both totally blind and bring some sunglasses.I left wearing a pair of sample contacts so I couldnt wear my regular prescription glasses, and I didnt have a ride home, so I walked 10 blocks or so with my eyes being totally scorched by the sun (since dilation makes your pupils larger and lets more light in). That was very unpleasant.. Definitely dont drive after dilation!Not a big deal but it wouldve been nice if they provided my updated glasses prescription without my asking for it. My last optometrist did that too, so maybe this is normal, I dont know.But overall great place and Im very happy with my new contacts.

I saw Dr. Curtis Ono and his staff. I had a very pleasant experience. Dr. Ono is very knowledgeable, provided a lot of patient education and empathetic throughout the visit. I felt like I was in good hands. His assistant was also very knowledgeable and front desk was very nice. Overall I highly recommend visiting this office. Looking forward to future visits.

I am forever thankful for Dr. Carlson. Ive struggled with double vision and headaches since I was a child. Dr. Carlson was the first eye doctor who listened to me and diagnosed me correctly with a pretty hefty astigmatism in my left eye. Ive been wearing glasses ever since and let me tell you, my quality of life has improved significantly. Special shout out to Dr. Carlson!

Dr. Ono was fantastic - put me at ease, was very patient, and answered all of my questions. Typically, with other optometrists, when I get a new prescription it takes a few days for my eyes to adjust to the new glasses and I have pretty bad headaches. Im not sure if it was just because my eyes havent gotten a lot worse since last time but when I put my new glasses there was no adjustment period!

I was disappointed in a number of ways. First, the tech told me the pupil dilation portion of the exam should not impede my ability to drive. It did. It was very difficult to drive home. Second, I could not see well after the exam ended. Trying to identify a new frame was difficult because my vision was impaired. I thought the staff would offer to help looking through frames because I wanted to find one close to my existing frames. But assistance was only offered after I requested it. And it was perfunctory.MY kids have gotten their eyeglasses here and the experience was much better for them. Not sure why the difference in service and care.

Ive been here several times and ordered two pairs of glasses from this place. The doctors here are good, but the desk and retail associates are rude and unprofessional. I typically dread having to go in for that reason. Every time I have been in Ive heard them loudly complaining about other customers. Unfortunately last time, they complained about ME amongst eachother while I was still there!I went in for a quick glasses adjustment on my new glasses. There were three people working in the optical store and no customers, yet they told me they were by appt only and I would have to come back the next day. I mentioned they were quite painful and would it be possible to just make the quick fix now? The associate pulled them right off my face without and walked off in a huff.Then from five feet away I heard them complaining and gossiping about me. Apparently the front desk guy was irritated at me for walking in sans mask (since WA is now open I didnt realize, but I quickly apologized and put one on) and leaving the interior door open (I did not realize).They didnt even bother to lower their voices.Make sure to follow ALL the signs and know and follow all the rules there...or else you will be the victim of an unpleasant experience like mine :(

VERY friendly and helpful check-in staff (quick and perky - wish I could remember her name!). Assistant Yurgen was exceptionally efficient, professional and articulate about each step of the exam pre-meeting with the optometrist. Dr. Young was super friendly and clear in answering my questions. Shes funny, too. Had a GREAT experience, which I was worried I might not have given some of other reviews I saw online. (FYI, this was the Bellevue site I went to.)

TLDR: nice staff, but disorganized and spacey. Not the best first impressions as a long time glasses wearer.My experience at Puget Sound Eye Care was a mixed bag. I needed a new eye doctor and PSEC is close to home. Scheduling online and appointment reminders were a nice touch, but I was told by staff that dialating my eyes would result in no impact to my vision and Id be good to drive home. This is the first time Ive been told this in 20 years of wearing glasses, and plenty of dilations has left me knowing that this isnt the case for me, so I ultimately did need to make two appointments- one for the initial check and a follow up a week later for the dilation. A pretty first world problem, admittedly, but still something I had to come back for.Dr. Walton was polite and thorough enough but seemed distracted and in a rush to get onto their next patient on both exams. I did appreciate that, even with a slight prescription change, she did tell me that I could continue to use my current prescription as long as I didnt notice any significant changes in vision.I did make an appointment with the optical/optician side of the business to see about changing out my lenses, but when I showed up the appointment wasnt on file and the front end staff seemed very confused as to why I was there. Lens prices were also about double what Ive seen at other providers.

I had good experience with Dr.Stephanie. She was professional and kind to me. The lady who helped me with my eye glasses was very nice and she made sure they fit me well before I left. The receptionist was nice and working fast made my curbside pick up was quick and super convenient. Thank you

Like I always say: customer service ranks above all else. Puget Sound Eye Care made me feel welcome from the time I walked in to the time I left. Each person I interacted with was friendly, courteous, and exuded confidence and professionalism.They have a great selection of frames but what really impressed me above all else that Ive not received from other places is the conversation I had with Rica (sic) about fit and frame shapes and why some looks work and others dont. Its not that the other places Ive been havent offered some opinions when asked. I just never felt the true candor I received at PSEC. I am really glad I chose them as my new eye care specialists!Thanks, PSEC!

I was so fortunate that they were able to help me since everything is locked down and almost impossible to get a appointment in a shorter period than waiting 2 more months for my eye test than previously told from doctors and it was very comforting to have them help me be put me at ease

I started to have pink eyes (most likely viral based on the symptoms) just 10 days after my appointment here. Note that the incubation period of viral pink eyes is 5 - 12 days. Has anyone else who has come here recently had pink eyes? If so, would appreciate if you could also leave a review...

Wish I could’ve seen Dr. Ono, heard great reviews from mutual friends. Scheduled the appointment for 1, check in for 12:45. Did the paper work and my insurance card online weeks ago. Even checked with the rep I spoke with twice, confirmed the appointment. Showed up at 1 and was informed I had to reschedule. Waited 3 weeks for this appointment. Very disappointing. I’m pregnant so the less contact with people is preferred. Wish the front desk staff with the colored hair would’ve at least been nice about rescheduling instead of an attitude.

The woman who answered the phone was super kind and understanding, they got me in same day and on very short notice. The person doing intake and the doctor were both extremely kind, compassionate and informative, they calmed me down, took care of my injury and sent me on my way.

Overall a fairly good experience here, Dr.Walton was so kind and easy to work with. There was a bit of a miscommunication with billing, but we were able to get it resolved and I was really impressed by their costumer service in the end.

I used to work at Puget Sound Eye Care and Optical Solutions back in 2002, and I’ve always continued to go there for all my eye care needs. Dr. Ono is honestly one of the best optometrists around. He’s always on top of the newest and best treatments and products available. He is great at thoroughly explaining things to any type of patient. He also gives a very thorough exam. I highly recommend PSEC!

I took my 3 month old baby along for an eye exam and contact lens prescription renewal, and everyone at the practice went out of their way to accommodate me. The facility is stroller friendly, they were super quick and efficient, and Dr Young even offered to hold my baby for a bit.The online appointment booking process was quick and easy. I dont live here and needed to see an eye doctor very quickly. The office staff was very kind and helpful getting me in on this quick notice. The staff was very helpful and welcoming when I arrived. My nurse did a great job and was very friendly listening to my issues. She was fantastic. She made me feel like a long term valued patient.Doctor Walton did a very thorough job and again was very kind. She spent a great deal of time with me working to figure out my issue. She could not have been better.It is tough and always a little scary to find a doctor on quick notice in a place you dont live. All I can say is I lucked out when I picked Puget Sound Eye care. It was a fantastic visit. I could not recommend a group any more than this one.

I scheduled my first eye appointment with them at least 3-4 weeks ahead of time. I spoke with someone over the phone who put me on the schedule and I requested a specific doctor as well. When I arrived for my appointment I wasn’t on the schedule and the doctor I believed I was scheduled with wasn’t even in the office. Everyone was really nice and I appreciate the fact that they were able to fit me in. I ended up really liking the doctor I was with, but I still had issues with reception. They also forgot to return my insurance cards to me, so after driving about 10-15 minutes I got a call saying I needed to go back and pick them up. I know my cards are my responsibility as well, but the receptionists should’ve returned them immediately when they were done.

My daughter had an appointment with Puget Sound eye care. They where welcoming, professional and very kind to us! Didnt take too long. Will definitely be going back for everyone elses eye care also 🥰

Had a great experience at Puget Sound Eye Care. Visited their Bellevue location near Factoria. Everyone was awesome! Dr. Ono took time to talk through everything he was doing during my exam, and was extremely kind. I would highly recommend this practice!

The staff was friendly, but not very attentive to patients. The doctor also said I was showing signs of a serious eye disease, but when i saw a specialist (under recommendation) they said I was totally fine. So a very misleading visit.

I always had a good experience with Dr.Ono and his staff. The adjoining eyeglass shop has good selection and they always do a thorough job of fitting.

I wouldve given a five star review based just on my experience with Dr. Walton, but I was left surprised getting stuck with a $146 charge after my exam, despite it being in-network with my insurance. The guy at the desk said verbatim, you have great insurance (EyeMed) that covered almost everything, but you had a special fitting for your contact lenses. I wouldve told you earlier, but I was caught up with another group. Your total today is going to be $146.00. There was nothing else different done to me in my appointment compared to other times Ive been fitted from past doctors (and had no extra copay). At no point was it communicated to me that there was going to be a service that may not be covered. I wouldve immediately scrapped the fitting had I not known that it was covered under my insurance. This was just a simple check up and fitting. I dug through the bad reviews and saw Im not alone in having gone through something like this. Even worse, its been done to someone on Medicaid. Stay away unless you dont mind surprise billing

Dr. Ono is the best eye doctor in the Puget Sound. I’ve been going to him for over 20 years... excellent all around, and very friendly and personable, too. I would recommend Dr. Ono to anyone. I’ve worn glasses or contacts for almost 40 years and Dr. Ono is by far the very best eye doctor I’ve ever been to. His staff is great, too, and the new location in Factoria is very nice and easy to find.

I usually dont write reviews, especially for something like an optometrist but I was so upset with my experience with them I felt like I had to. I went in several months ago to update aca subscription and order new ones. Once I got the subscription they heavily influenced me to order my contacts through them even though I was hesitant. They claimed my insurance would cover it with exception of $50. I felt like that was fair so I ordered the contacts. However, onceIonce received them the contacts were only for half a year. It was explained to me initially that itwit be covered for the whole year. When I made a complaint that I was given misinformation there was absolutely no sympathy or explanation to why it was told I was going to receive a whole years worth. Its really upsetting because now I have to pay for contacts out of pocket when I could have just gone through Costco and had them fully covered. Ridiculous.

Dr. Carlson is always very personable and professional. Great with my son over the years. Efficient and answers questions thoroughly and doesn’t feel rushed. Highly recommend!

Im 27 and have never been to the eye doctor. Everything was painless here from the online booking to the testing. All of the staff were wonderfully cheerful and sweet, the doctor was absolutely marvelous, and I felt so cared for here. I cant reccomend them enough!Not sure what insurance problems others had, but I made a $20 copay and insurance took care of the rest

Run! Regular eye exam with in network insurance that covers eye exam fully still bills over $100. Called them but they were like because you used your insurance for buying hardware which I didn’t. I don’t know how many fake reviews are there on here. Never ever return.

My daughter was nervous for her first eye exam, however the staff and Dr Ono put her at ease. They let her get comfortable and they had toys and books that helped. They did a thorough exam and a good explanation of the results.

It was my 6 year olds first eye doctor appointment and they made her feel so comfortable. The assistant and doctor were wonderful and put her at ease. I’m so glad our pediatrician recommended Dr Carlson. We had a great experience picking out glasses as well. The staff was trained to help kids and you could tell.

Doctors listen to your concern and mostly recommend you optional medication, first they prefer home remedies if you opt for medicine , doctors will prescribe medicine. I gave a try and now i am happy to mention PSE is my opthomologist.

Puget Sound Eye Care is an absolute perfect example of what you would dream of in doctors in eye care. I have been a very happy patient of theirs for over 15 years and yesterday I had the experience one would dread in relation to vision. I awoke with no clarity, double vision, loss of balance walking and a general fear. Sparing the details, Dr Ono and Dr Walton were essential and wonderful in initial testing needed as well as referral to a hospital with recommendations, calling me to see how I was as well as access to them the next day for further recommendations and referral to another specialist and further work on their part to possibly determine my medical dilemma. I cannot say enough positive words to describe their professionalism as well as the wonderful personality of each of them. This is truly the ideal office to have as your eye doctors. An incredible team of caring individuals who are amazing at what they do.

Great experience! I made an apointment with the Bellevue office, its closer to home. Dr. Carlson and his staff are friendly and caring. They were patient with my 3 year old, who was coming in for his first eye exam. Dr. Carlson explained all my options thoroughly and clearly for treatment for his eye issue.

Visiting Seattle last week and needed urgent eye exam. Walked in, was greeted as a long-time patient by smiling front office staff, had thorough and immediate pre-exam by professional Ty, and was then seen by the nicest, most compassionate doc I’ve ever met, Dr. Ono. As I am 76, that says a lot. If I were a regular patient, I would look forward to going to this office for eye care.

Well my experience so far has not been the best. It’s sad when we pay for vision and they are one of the VIP spots our providers tell us to go to. First to find out I need a steroid ok I can handle that but than to call me the day before my follow up exam and tell me it’s no longer a vision exam it’s considered medical and there will be a different co pay and a different billing medical charges? Why not tell me at my appointment to expect that?Now I order frames ok my insurances covers up to 150 dollars on my frames and covers all the lenses with all the extras right? So said frames are only 190 bucks so here I expect to pay a 40 dollar difference plus taxes ok. But wait no she explains becauSe of how they break it down I owe 180 dollars? Say what? So I pay , I have also contacted my insurance company about it and notified them of their process here. Now it’s been over 3 weeks and no glasses yet? I mean I called and got the run around was told someone would call me back twice nope never happened. The 3rd time I called a nice woman actually looked into it informed me it was a weekend and she would reach out to me Monday. I was worried and doubtful for that but, she Actually called me back and that’s the only reason why there are any stars on this review! Now I still sit here and wait for my glasses to come in but at least now I know why it’s taking so long.I will more than likely find a different eye doctor from here out and purchase glasses else where as well.

The health survey done prior to the appointment was followed up on by the doctor, who recommended solutions to minor eye problems that Ive had. No other eye doctor Ive been to has done this, so I was very happy with my experience. I also had a minor change in one eye, and extra care was taken to find out why I did not have 20/20 vision with my current prescription. I would recommend this place to anyone.

First I want to say that I think Dr. Carlson is a good eye doc, but the administrative department is horrible. At one point I had my entire family and numerous friends going to see Sr. Carlson. One by one they all left due to the non-clinical team. Horrible issues with insurance being billed, billing both medical and vision insurance when you go in for a regular eye exam. No explanation that they are billing for two different services, with two huge fees... Admin team is cold and does nothing to address your concerns....

I like dr.ono and he is a great caring doctor.I dont like their online system appointment. I made a appointment early last week then after couple days their office send me an email that i didnt get that appointment due to the patients conflict and i have to reschedule it again.i called them and the Rep. Said online appointments are not confirmed. .really if it is not working this system why they waste our time for our schedule ...it supposed to be for convenience of patients not for confusing patients and messed up with their time and their other schedules.

Great place chrCh did my pre-exam and Dr. Young did the final exam and they were amazing, he people at reception were great aswell, loved coming here and would definitely help coming here.

Please avoid this place. Terrible business practice of placing their interest ahead of the customers. I had them put new lenses on my existing frame I purchased from them two years ago. They had me sign a waiver in case they break the frame and of course, the sales staff informed me that it rarely happens. They broke my frame and used up my prescription lenses benefit although I never got my glasses. This is a borderline fraud. Ill never use this place again.

Was directed to this place because they took my Medicaid. I went because I needed an updated prescription so I could order new contact lenses. After Dr Ono went through the motions of determining that my eyes hadnt changed and my prescription could stay the same, he then said that we were going to need to do a fitting. He didnt have my particular shape of toric lens in, so he just looked at the toric lens I wore in (a matter that lasted all of 2 minutes) and deduced that yep, these fit fine. No kidding... I could have told you that. Two weeks later I got a bill for an additional $115 for a special exam fitting. It took over three months and countless emails and phone calls to get through to someone, and when I finally did they told me You should have been informed that the fitting is an additional cost, to which I emphatically stated that I wasnt. That I came to them because Im a broke a-- student on medicaid and CANT afford additional charges, and that they should remove it. More months of deliberation and now they will only drop the charge if I bring them back my prescription. As in, the one that they billed my insurance for, got paid for. How petty is that? I told them I lost it, because I did in a recent move, and they said essentially too bad, youll need to pay us. These people are unbelievable - just go look at other Yelp! reviews and youll see MANY others saying the exact same thing. Not only are they petty, but this is predatory. Theyve sent me to collections and damaged my credit while I was applying for a new apartment to rent in Everett. I was denied this apartment because of this, and now me and my girlfriend are stuck at my moms until I can figure something out. Thanks Dr. Ono! Who practices in Bellevue and Wallingford! Because Im sure that $115 was suuuuuper important to saddle on to my bill, unbeknownst to me. $115 matters a lot to a starving student, drowning in student loans. Do NOT give this place your business.

We couldnt be more pleased with the attention Dr. Carlson gives our kids. Yes parking can be difficult, but well worth it for the quality of care my family gets here.
