I had been struggling to find a new salon for years and I am so happy I found Hazel Salon a few years ago. I have really thick hair so stylists can have a hard time with it but Jesse did a great job. I also go to Katy for my eyebrows and facial treatments. She is great and so personable. I recommend Hazel Salon to just about everyone I know looking for a salon in the Greenwood area. Although it’s also worth a drive and it is across the street from a great bakery (Coyles) so you can make it a day filled with self care.

Hazel Salon is an AMAZING and AWESOME place! I was one of the first clients and have had a consistently FANTASTIC experience during these last 12+ years. Tara Roberts expertise & leadership in organics is phenomenal - she uses the best most cutting-edge products. Her care for staff & clients creates a standout experience and an especially uplifting atmosphere. And with the organics, EVERYTHING SMELLS WONDERFUL - clean, fresh, natural - never perfume-y and none of the icky chemical smells from perms or color processing used by traditional salons (at Hazel, clients learn that heat can be used to open the hair shaft (you dont need ammonia) and you achieve lasting color without staff or clients being exposed to chemicals). Neighborhood salon with a nice relaxed atmosphere. They use natural products, so no strong chemical smell. I have seen Jessie twice for balayage and hair cut. She is very talented! My hair is not the easiest, since I am in the process of embracing more of the gray that is coming in and I have growout from when I was doing full coverage, but I loved the results both times.

My first haircut was perfect. My 2nd cut not so, I couldnt get the regular stylist so I went with a different person. All I wanted was a trim and I came out with a completely different and much shorter haircut that I didnt like.

Was looking for a new salon closer to home. Got my first haircut in over a year, thanks to the pandemic. I shared how my hair does best with a dry cut. My stylist asked if she could start with the cut (sure). She trims my hair, asks if she can spritz it to style it, does that, and send me off 25 min after my appointment began. No what do you think? Mirror review, or holding up a mirror to see the back. That cut certainly didnt have the trappings of an $85 cut before tip and Im afraid I wont be back. It felt like Id gone to a Supercuts (like when I was a teen and my parents couldnt afford a nice salon). My expectations (average) were certainly not met.

My longtime stylist moved out of state and recommended Bambi, who was her boss at a previous salon. I have very long, thick hair with a very low maintenance routine and only go in about twice a year for a cut. I’ve been shamed for my routine by stylists in the past and it has made haircuts a very anxious event for me.However, Bambi was incredibly professional and listened to all of my concerns with no judgement and gave me exactly the haircut I wanted, even telling me it would hold its style for the next six months or so until I come back.The salon itself was very clean and followed strict Covid protocols, and I was happy to go somewhere so environmentally friendly. I would definitely recommend Bambi for her professionalism and my beautiful haircut!

I love getting my hair done by Marina. She is extremely professional. She listens carefully and always works with me to get a look that works with my face shape, hair texture and style. I have difficult hair. It has lots of texture, frizz and curl. I often strive for looks that dont work with my hair and Marina always leads me in the right direction. Shes super knowledge and has a lot of experience working with celebrities and fashion.I love that the salon carries organic products and uses items which are compostable and recyclable.The salon has good ventilation and its clean. I dont have any COVID worries while I am there.

I have been to Marina for a haircut a few times and she recently cut my moms hair as well. Both my mom and I agree that Marina is amazing! I have long wavy/curly hair and my mom has short, fine hair and Marina was able to give us both haircuts that were perfect for our respective hair types. Not only does she give excellent hair cuts, she is really welcoming and easy to talk to! I was reluctant to have my haircut during the pandemic but once it became apparent that we were going to be dealing with covid for a long time (more than a few months) I realized that I’d definitely need to get my hair cut. Hazel takes safety very seriously and I felt really comfortable being there. I’ll be going back to Marina for another hair cut very soon!

Marina is the best! So friendly and easy to talk to (even with masks on), and she really listened to what I wanted and gave me exactly that. Shes clearly very talented and I LOVE what she did with my hair. Also the salon was very clean and theyre taking every possible precaution right now due to COVID, which I appreciated.

In times of lock down and social distancing, Hazel is a breath of fresh air. The salon has a very art studio like feel - both in terms of the interior design and the energy of the employees. Marina is my hair stylist. She is honestly the first stylist that I have complete trust in. In the past, I have always arrived and spent a couple of minutes telling my stylist what I would like done, or what they did wrong last time. With Marina, I simply ask her to do what she feel would work for my hair and its current length. She nails it every time and I walk away feeling that my hard to tame, curly hair, looks tidy and stylish. I feel motivated to submit this review based on Marina, however I think its also important to call out Hazel for doing a great job at feeling safe and welcoming during some strange times in the world.

Ive been going to Hazel for about 4 years for color and I cant say enough about the ammonia free products they use. It has made a huge difference in the texture and health of my hair. I dont know why anyone still uses ammonia. I have seen a few different stylists over the years and they always listen to what I want (no brass) and deliver. Pre-pandemic I would bring my dog along, which is always a plus. I love this salon!

I have been here a few times now and couldnt be happier. Hazel was always very clean before the closures and even more so now making sure to take extra precaution and go above and beyond their local requirements. If you need to book an appointment be sure to work with Hayley as she has always been amazing when my work schedule causes conflict.My stylist has always been Tara who also happens to be the owner and has always been right on time with my appointments. The haircut lasts and grows out nicely I wont let anyone else cut my hair in Seattle.

She always has a sharp eye for color and style and is great at helping me meet shifting styles for my work needs (for TV, performance, and photo shoots). They have great organic products that have kept my scalp and hair healthy and full! Im so grateful for such an exceptionally talented and friendly salon!

Recently went to Hazel Salon to try a non-toxic salon. I loved the products that were used and even bought one to bring home. The salon was clean. However, it was not very friendly or warm and my cut was upsetting, definitely felt as though Tara didn’t listen to my request. My hair when I came in was about 26 inches long (to my butt). I asked for about 4 inches to come off and lost probably 8 inches. If I had known she was going to cut off 8 inches, I would have donated. It’s only hair, it’ll grow back, but I’m so tired of asking for a few inches and opening my eyes to see all of my hair is gone. And in this case, wasted because it could have gone to someone in need, had I known she was cutting 8-9 inches off. Also, I don’t know what to say when they ask, “is the length alright?” After they’ve finished. If I say no, how are you going to bring it back? Disappointed.

Ive gotten my haircut here twice now, and always get tons of compliments afterwards. The stylist was able to create the look I was going for, and it feels clean and safe with the precautions theyve implemented.

Becca is super smart when it comes to hair! She listens to my goals and Ive always gotten exactly what I wanted from her. I have been going to her for years now and she is brilliant at everything she does. Ive had long cuts, a lob, bangs, balyage, all over color, extensions, you name it, she can do it! I like to change my hair a lot but Ill never change my hair stylist!! I recommend all my friends and clients to her ♡

Wanted a balayage with baby lights and i got a total different thing only had the sides done and she completely missed the back of my head , looked horrible . My hair was so uneven in color had a lot of spots that didnt even have bleach. I did get an appointment to get a redone but I preferred to go pay again somewhere else to get it fixed because i just didnt trust this place again . Marina was the one that did my hair. I was very disappointed because i paid a lot of money for a terrible job.

I love going to Becca at Hazel. She is so outgoing, kind and makes the appointments a breeze! She always listens to what I want to do to my hair and is very honest about what it would take to get there. She also makes keeping my hair healthy a priority! Hazel is such a cute salon with all organic products. I have been very picky throughout my life with the products I used, but switched over to the ones that Hazel has and couldnt be happier! I also appreciate that they are focused on their customers - instead of some of the larger salons that bounce you from one person to the next during an appointment.

Tara did an amazing job on my hair! She lightened it perfectly (everybody who has had highlights/balayage done knows how frustrating it can be to get highlights and come home with your hair only looking half a shade lighter. I was so happy that this wasnt the case here! My roots were blended perfectly and my hair was just the right shade. My hair felt healthier than it usually does post-bleach and looked beautiful too! Will be going back for sure!

I have my hair colored and foiled every 6 weeks by Tara, the owner, she does a fabulous job every single time. She gives me her full attention the whole time I am there. She gives the best wash and conditioning and toner always with a neck massage.They have delicious water with fruit infusion, tea or French pressed coffee to drink and lots of comfortable space and magazines to read as you process. I always leave the salon feeling beautiful and pampered.I buy all my hair and face products there as well. I love, love, love the Rhonda Allison face products, the Loma hair products and the Antonym and Youngblood makeup.I also get all my sugaring done there, it’s like waxing but better. And I get facials and peels as well. Katy is a fabulous esthetician, she knows the products well and knows how to pamper.As if all that isn’t enough, the Salon itself is beautiful and the bathroom is incredible. If you have never been there, run don’t walk!!! And the prices are so reasonable that I can take such great care of myself and it’s all organic!!!

I went to get an inch off my hair and Nicki took off four inches. I told her that I wanted on my shoulder and still be able to put my hair into a bun. When I finally found out shed cut off four inches I was about to cry. I didnt feel like I was getting listened too. Its been two months and I still havent been able to put my hair up the way I used too. For a $60 Hazel isnt worth it.

I am extremely passionate about being environmentally friendly and when I heard about Hazel and learned that they shared my passion, I knew that this was the salon for me. They do extensive and routine research on the products they use trying to limit their impact as much as possible. They also provide sugaring services, which are the environmental equivalent to waxing. I highly recommend it especially since Hazel offers these services at a more reasonable cost in comparison to other salons in Seattle.The staff is friendly and personable quickly offering me a beverage while I wait for my stylist or esthetician. At my last haircut, I asked for swoop bangs for the first time in my life and they look great! In addition, they informed me that they do free bang cuts which is perfect considering how fast my hair grows! Also, I was informed that if I recommend them to a friend and that friend comes in dropping my name, I get 25% off my next service!The location is great, even though the parking lot is small, but it is super easy to find street parking. The inside is cozy and gorgeous with a very cushy waiting room. The owner also makes her own jewelry and has her pieces on display.So, why not 3 stars for the service? I have gone in for sugaring twice now and both times have left with a patch of hair still on my leg. Its an easy fix for me at home, but I wish that I didnt have to fix it.I highly recommend Hazel Salon & Organics!

Wow. I do not recommend the salon. Tara and Aubriel are off the charts rude and lazy. I had consultations with both of them at the same time and its clear to me now that they are only interested in a wam-bam thank you mam type of service. I am new to Seattle looking for a top quality salon. My prior hair dresser (who I love) recommended me to Tara. She told me that her and Tara didnt get along on a personal level but she could cut hair well. I called to schedule an appt for cut and color with Tara and an extension consultation with Aubriel. I am someone who is always on time and usually early to any appointment I make..Unfortunately and anyone who lives in Seattle knows that if you get stuck behind a bad accident in this city you are literally grid-locked stuck forever. I am brand new to the city and that happened to me so I was almost 15 minutes late to my appt. I called a half hour before my appt and asked them if it was okay to still come and they said yes. Then When I walked in Tara said with attitude and rolling her eyes, I cant see you you are 20 minutes late! ( I was 15min late and I called and asked her if I should still come and she SAID YES!) So then I ask if we could just do a consult because the top of my hair was damaged and I needed some advice and guidance between the two of them on whats the best route to get my hair back to a healthy place. They both looked annoyed like they had no time when they did have time because she had me booked for 2 hours anyway.I looked around and could see they both had 2 clients each, both in the middle of getting their hair done. One client was sitting their waiting for their hair to process while their other client was getting their hair cut. How did she think she was gonna give any of us good service if she was supposed to squeeze me in as well for the scheduled cut and color. That would have been an even worse experience. Who wants to sit and wait for someone to get their hair done in the middle of your hair appt! I right then and there should have realized this wasnt the salon for me. I want my hair dressers attention to be 100% on me during our alotted time scheduled and not two other clients. I didnt listen to my gut and just did the consult..They both had major attitudes and made me feel really uncomfortable and a bother to them. Aubriel gave me a quick dry trim and said she would be happy to see me again.A few weeks went by, I let my hair grow out more and got it to a much better place. Although I didnt like their attitudes, I liked Aubriels technique so I scheduled an appt with her for a regular trim and root touch up. As I was on the phone with the receptionist and I told her my name she told me to hold on while she talked to Aubriel...i sat on hold...She gets back on the line and was like hi, Ill call you right back. Click! As you can probably guess, I never got a call back. I told my boyfriend, dang they must not like me.. or Im too much work for them maybe. But then I thought to myself..maybe they were just busy and forgot. So, I get the courage to try again. I call and make an appt for he next day at 3pm. That day I get an automated text from the salon saying your appt has been cancelled due to scheduling difficulties. So I call back today to make a new appt..Tara answers the phone and when she realized it was me she says...oh, its you again..Yea soooo we decided we dont want to take the time to do your hair because it requires too much of our attention.I wish I would have gone off on her, but i didnt. Why would you even become a hair dresser if you dont want to put in any effort. I mean if I am solo much work, extend the amount of time, charge me more, and do your job. A real hair dresser would enjoy doing that; enjoy giving someone a makeover and making them feel better about themselves. But No, A little extra effort was too much for them. I mean seriously, the only reason why Tara didnt want to see me and convinced Aubriel not to see me. Oh, Im running out of space...dont worry there is more...
