Very rude and poor customer service. Talking on the phone with them is a nightmare and in person is worse. Decent haircuts, but not worth what they’re charging.

Do not go to this place if you want colors or ombré. They do not know how to do this. I had gotten my hair ombré from my natural hair color (brown) to red a year back at a different location. When I went in yesterday I asked for her to make my ombré higher and retouch all the red. I showed her the picture and told her I wanted my majority of my hair the bright red from the picture. Only a little of my natural color at the top so that grow out looked natural. She then goes in the back and mixes a color without even showing me color samples or consulting with me on the process. What she should have done to get this color was lighten(bleach my hair) as I have brown hair so the red wouldn’t come out right when just putting red in. Instead she mixed a random red color, came out and immediately started putting foils in my hair. She then decided for some reason without consulting me to do highlights, not the whole head. So she takes 2 HOURS doing these highlights, then towards the end I’m getting extremely confused because she’s just skipping half my head. So I ask “what about all the strands you aren’t doing”. She responds- “oh did you want red in those?” ???? Like what? Yes I want red in those, there was red all on the ends of my hair that is super faded from last time, all I asked was that we extend it and retouch? What on earth made her think I wanted highlights? So for the other half of my head, she just put red on the area that was already red. Therefore giving my hair a highlight affect because she did the other half higher up. After all of this she goes to rinse out my hair and uses HOT water??? Like what? I don’t even know much about hair and I know you’re supposed to use cold water on colored hair??? After all is said and done she doesn’t ask me if I want to get a hair cut. And charges me for all over color+specialty for ombré??? Now look- I was expecting to spend double because I assumed she would bleach then put the red in. So the money isn’t the problem. What pisses me off about this whole situation is she never consulted me, she just started doing all these things, didn’t talk through the process, and completely didn’t understand my request even though I showed her a picture. If I wanted just red highlights I would have done it myself. I go to salons when it involves bleach because doing that myself scares me.I know I’m at fault for not speaking up when I realized what she was doing wasn’t what I wanted. But situations like that make me uncomfortable and I don’t like complaining. I hoped that it would turn out good and that she knew what she was doing. However it didn’t, and it’s not even close to what I wanted. My hair is now natural brown at the top, with random red-tinted(not even actually the red I wanted) highlights that DONT even look ombré, they look like a 5 year old did it, with a darker red tint at the bottom where she added in the red at the end when I was confused. I hate having to write something like this because the lady was nice and I’m sure her intentions weren’t bad, she just didn’t know what she was doing or didn’t even look at the picture well enough. Just wanted to write this so that other people don’t go have similar problems or maybe she can learn from this and tell the customer she can’t do an ombré since she can’t. I would attach pictures if I could but this won’t let me.

Great place for a quick haircut. Safety is everything there, so feel free to let your hair down while getting it cut, hehe.

Carrie is the ONLY person who can cut my bfs hair. He has multiple cowlicks and she is just plain amazing! So needless to say she us now officially my hairstylist as of today and she also gave me an amazing free consult. We will also be scheduling for our almost 3 year olds FIRST haircut. Very pleases overall!

I had Carrie today and it was an amazing experience. Not only did I get an amazing haircut she is also very friendly. I will be coming back for her for sure. I have long fine hair and she gave me beautiful blended layers and some nice framing around my face. It was EXACTLY what I wanted.

Still a HUGE fan of Hair Masters! I see Veronica when I come here and shes been helping me transition from a pixie to a shorter inverted/bob cut. I have never received so many compliments on my hair! She absolutely kills it and I always love catching up with her. The studio itself is super cute and all the ladies working here have such a unique style and make you feel so welcome and comfortable.

My husband just got a haircut here and it looks pretty jacked up. He simply asked for a #2 fade on the sides and to straighten up the top but leave it long enough to comb. They gave him a really uneven military high and tight, with no fade at all. Then cut the top extra short. He would have looked better if he just shaved his own head in the bathroom.

Twice I made the mistake of coming here. Regina cut my hair, shes allegedly a master stylist. Her customer service is atrocious. Her hair cutting skills are abysmal. I walked in and she asked for my phone #, I told her I wasnt in her system. She rolled her eyes and took me to a chair. When we got there she whispered something to another employee sitting in a chair staring at her phone and she looked at me and laughed. Great way to treat your clientele.My haircut is pretty simple, but I still expect some time and care to be given when Im paying $20 for someone to cut my hair. Money I work hard for! Regina spent a whopping 4 minutes on my hair. She couldnt have been any less interested in what she was doing. Dont waste your time or money here. Im guessing any good reviews this place has, come from their friends and family. Waste of time. The staff here needs to be replaced immediately

Wow, I almost walked out after reading the comments and reviews but I am so glad I stayed and stuck it through. One of the best experiences I have ever had with getting my hair cut and it looks on point. I would suggest you dont pay attention to the negative comments. All I see seen was great service and haircuts all the way around.

My hair was a mess and I had no appointment. Needless to say I was desperate. The staff could hear my pain & I only had to wait 20 minutes for the best consultation and hair cut ever. Carrie rocks as a stylist. Already booked my next appointment.

Couple weeks ago my two kids have hair cuts there and It was awful for both of them. My son went a few months ago there he got an amazing hair cut, thats why we went back. My daughter wanted a girl-ish short hair cut and it turned out to look like a boy and my son was very disappointed with his hair cut too. I pay $50 bucks for a horrible service. This people are not professional at all. Dont go there.

Always ask for Ivan, hes the best there, hes the only one I trust cutting my hair and doing my eyebrows, I use to go to Burien for years until my stylist left, went to Westwood and Ivan did an amazing job, I followed him to Newcastle and back to Westwood.. hes always coming up with cool ideas for my hair, cuts and colors. My daughter loves what he has done coloring her hair.

If youre just looking to get some of your hair cut, then this is the place for you ... otherwise, keep looking! The horrible attitudes and complete unprofessionalism wouldnt be so hard to stomach if they could find ONE person who knew how to cut hair. The staff changes constantly. Ive known of four people that have been fired in the last two years because of how many complaints they got. Ive made the mistake of going there half a dozen times, when I see new people there, hoping to finally get someone who knows what theyre doing, but its a disaster, EVERY TIME! They dont ever listen to the customer, they just start randomly butchering your head. Weve gotten crooked, uneven, not blended, choppy, bowl head cut, and had a shelf or ridge left across the sides and back of the head, mulitiple times. They cant do long, short, straight, curly, thick or thin hair. Not even the simplest of trims. I believe they only employ people who literally cant work anywhere else. STAY AWAY!!!

Gary just cut my hair. He reaked of cigarettes and now so does my hair. I just wanted it shaved underneath. He kept chatting with me and whispering to me. I felt bad so I tipped him nearly the cost of my cut because he kept telling me how much he needed money to send back home. I didnt want to be rude, but he took a long time and he didnt make it even. When I got home, I had my mother run some clippers over it. it took five seconds and was perfectly even. so 5 stars for mom and 1 star for hair masters.

My son and fiancé got their hair cuts today and it’s horrible. My sons hair looks like it has divets in it. Long hair and patches of longer hair were left on both of their heads. Not the first time they’ve gotten crappy cuts. Definitely not going back.

Ive been coming to this HairMasters location in Westwood Village for over a year mostly out of convenience as its only a 6 minute drive from my house. About 3 months ago I embarked on the difficult process of changing my hair color. My hair had several layers of black hair dye and I knew from the outset that it was going to be a challenge obtain a medium chestnut brown with ash blonde highlights. After many visits to this same salon for various procedures such as lowlights, highlights, toning and lots of money later I finally got to where I wanted to be. Unfortunately, that all ended about 3 days ago when I came in for yet another toning session to cancel out brassiness in my highlights. I explained exactly what I wanted to the store manager, Regina, nonchalantly advised a stylist who is inexperienced in color to tone my hair with an ash based toner. Unfortunately, the result was that my highlights have been erased and my hair is JET BLACK. I was shocked and anxious but the stylist persuaded me that the toner would fade out after a few shampoo sessions but that is simply false. After all the time and money I had spent on my hair goals all it took was one stylist to use the wrong stuff and now I am back to black hair again. I was so upset that I contacted the Hair Masters in Burien to see if there was anything that could be done to fix this blunder. To my pleasant surprise, a young lady named Jessica who had done my hair on a previous occasion answered the phone and said she would gladly fix it. Jessica is a great colorist and I recall a very positive experience with both her and Ambrosia. Hair Masters in Westwood Village has lost me as a client and I will be going to Jessica at the Burien location from now on.

Took my two daughters in and asked for the wash and cut. The lack of skill and care was appalling. After a quick, horrible styling job, she said there you go. I asked if I got a discount for skipping the shampoo, and they grudginly washed their hair as well. Staff members could be overhead complaining in the back.Listen to the reviews here. Go literally ANYWHERE else before you consider shopping here.

I personally had a really bad experience getting a hair cut at, HairMaster, in WestWood village. The guy (Michael) who was doing my hair didnt have any experience at all, he was rude and had a really bad attitude. Zero customer service. After he was done cutting my hair which took him less than five minutes I notices that my hair was a total mess I had a bunch of uneven hair. I asked if he could fix my hair but he didnt want to listen and started arguing that I was wrong and totally refuse to fix my hair. So I asked him if someone else could fix. Thanks to Christina and employee from the same salon I got my hair fix. Overall, not a good place for a hair cut.

They messed up my hair so bad all different lengths. I told them to trim my hair and ended up cutting most of my hair off. Will never go there again. It was horrifying and going to take months before my hair grows back.

Everytime I go down there, the haircuts just get worse and worse. They’ve messed up multiple times now, and can no longer be trusted by me.

They ALWAYS screw up my hair. It’s uneven and I fix it at home 100% of the time.
