I just want to say this place has been a fantastic dental experience. I am so impressed with all the staff members. I am a person that dreads going to the dentist and the Dentists and staff have been amazing through the entire process. Special shout out to Rakenya did such an amazing job adjusting my dentures that they almost feel natural. I never thought that was possible. Thank you Dental Express for answering all my questions and helping me feel better through a very frightening time . You are all wonderful.

I have had a fear of going to the dentist since I was in elementary school so to write this review believe me I found a GOOD ONE. Thank you, God. This dental office kept me calm and relaxed. I was impressed at how clean the areas were and nicely decorated too. #1 they take great precautions in regards to Covid 19. I love the train that travels on a track that rides around the entire office up near ceiling area, it was very tastefully constructed! The friendly staff and back dental assistants are genuine and so welcoming! The entire team is very professional and confident too! Since moving to San Diego, I have been through 3 different dentists, and was beginning to give up.After getting several recommendations, and after finding out that they accept my insurance, I decided to try Dental Express in Point Loma. I have to say, Dr. Hansen may be the best dentist I have ever had. She is very gentle, patient and conservative in her treatment plans.

Definitely come here if you want to wait for an entire hour after your appointment to speak with the dentist and then have her be rude to you! Her staff was super sweet though.

I broke a small piece of tooth and went to Dental Express to fix it. It was my second time there. I scheduled an appointment 2 days later, at 10am, and arrived at the time on the day. After waiting 1 hour, seriously, 1 hour sitting in the lobby, the dentists assistant called my name and asked me to sit in the dentists chair to wait a little longer because they were getting my information. Okay, I waited another 25 minutes and no one came. I saw the same dentist assistant passing by and asked him where the doctor was and how long it would take to see him. He said: I dont know whats going on and Im going to check. After waiting another 15 minutes, the manager came to speak to me. He asked what happened to my teeth, I explained to him and asked if he was a doctor. He said he was not a doctor, but a manager. I said ok, can I see a doctor? He said that at the moment all the doctors were busy and it would take a little longer to see one. After almost 2 hours of waiting at the office, I decided to come home to try to find a new office. Very disrespectful to peoples time. I understand that sometimes it takes a long time in the dentists office, but 2 hours of waiting without to talk to a doctor seems like a long time and the managers attitude towards the situation was disappointing.

I flew to San Diego from NY for a family wedding, after having 12 hours of intense molar pain. Oh and I was 18 weeks pregnant at the time! My tooth was cracked for years and it finally exposed its root and the pain was at 9/10. I was easily scheduled a same day appointment and the receptionist could not have been more cordial to me over the phone. Finding out if they take my insurance was very important to me, and they were very assuring of coverage and cost. The dentist who saw me was very personable and comforting. He performed a thorough consult with X-rays (which did not hurt!). I was very nervous as I knew I wouldn’t be able to get much pain relief due to my pregnancy. During the course of my two visits to the establishment, both dental assistants were very knowledgeable with excellent bedside manner. I don’t think I’ve ever been more comfortable sitting in a dentist’s chair! After getting clearance from OB back home, he and the kind dental assistant took my tooth out with such expertise and finesse, I was more than grateful to be rid of the darned thing!The dentist also made sure to call the pharmacist regarding pain relief, and prescribed me something that was safe for me in pregnancy.Overall, upon arrival to departure from Dental Express, I received the best expert care I’ve ever received at any dental establishment. I think I might fly to San Diego’s Dental Express for my annual check ups! The train theme was well received by my 3 year old son who kept busy with all the toys, books and model trains all around the very clean waiting area.Thank you to all who helped alleviate me of pain and concern... you are wonderful and what you do.

Beautiful office and a warm, friendly staff! I had such a good experience with Ruben, Maurice and Dr. Jamie. They really care about the patient - it was a relief not to experience a sales pitch at the dentist. I highly recommend!

I just am blown away by the stalling n improper insurance filling , and lack of human care they r very impersonal! Bedside manor does not exist ! They love covid and it’s mask so u can’t see smirk on there faces as they just postpone and no one is responsible!

Dr. Hansen is very nice and she took her time to listen to my concern without making me feel bad at all. The facility looks very clean and updated as well. Highly recommended!!

Dentel Express overpriced their services. On my first time visit I needed to get some work done and said my insurance wouldnt cover the whole thing. FALSE! I went to a different dentist and never charged a dime out of my pocket. My insurance perfectly cover everything. They scam people without knowing.

So happy we switched dentists! The staff is kind and friendly. Office is welcoming, clean and decorated. They were both gentle and thorough. Even our 13 year old twins left excited- from the dentist! I can’t say enough great things about this office, the staff and the dentist. We actually look forward to coming back! Thank you so much Dental Express. We are so grateful for your wonderful service. I felt the least I could do was spread the word to others about this great place.

Beware they do x rays more than any other dentist office I have been to. Not only with every cleanings but, my son fractured a tooth. They did x rays on him at the PL office then later referred to the downtown office. They did not send over the images..which are electronic now, so he had to have a second set. The dentist insisted that we remove the fractured tooth immediately and set up for an implant. We decided to get a second opinion...thankfully the second opinion had more experience worked out and the tooth was saved...no expensive implant needed.My kids were refused tooth cleaning services today ..they were told by the staff that they dont get paid for cleanings by our insurance unless they do rays.. ;I called the insurance..we have full coverage.I have never had two xrays needed in one year with any other dentist office

This place has been good so far. They are friendly and professional. Office is very clean and modern. Location is convenient if you are any where near point Loma. Ruben is an all-star extremely informative and has great communication, a pleasure to deal with. Dr Casey seems real down to earth and also easy to deal with. Overall my experience has been good and I would reccomend this spot.

Dental express always makes myself and my kids feel comfortable. They never fail to make us feel welcome. They always make sure to walk us through exactly what’s going on throughout our care, what the cost will be, and what we could do to help or fix issues at home. They’re sensitive to every issue and are always willing to help or navigate each situation.

Well first I went and had a crown done. It was excellent in every way. The most important thing for me was that there was no pain and their wasnt. Then I took my two grandsons ages 3 and 6, they were magnificent with the boys. For the first time the boys had no problems and they were great. I am really, very, very impressed.

LOVE Dr. Jaime and his staff...they are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great hours. Hygienist was great. The dentist is all about doing whats right and not taking your every last dollar. Been a patient of theirs for about two years now, and I still think they are top notch. Office is clean and really well done....they even have a cool little electric train track. Great for kids and adults. So happy I found a great dentist close to home!

I went here for an emergency after I woke up with a loose tooth. I told the staff Id been neglecting dental treatment for years and would likely need not only an emergency plan to deal with my loose tooth but a comprehensive plan for treatment to restore my mouth.About a half hour after my appointment, a tech brought me back for a few X-rays in a very clean, professional setting. A doctor then came in, spent about two minutes examining the loose tooth, and told me I had to have it pulled. He said it was too close to closing time, though, so I should come back another day to deal with it.What happens after the tooth is pulled, I ask, hoping to talk about an implant, an infection treatment plan, anything. Nothing, is the response - we pull the tooth, you pay us, you go away.I used the next day to find another dentist who, while much more expensive than Dental Express, was able to (at least for now) save my tooth and who gave me straight answers about the thousands of dollars Im going to have to spend over the next several months to fix my bad tooth and save several others that are at risk. For that, I guess I should at least be thankful the doc couldnt have been bothered to pull the tooth when I was here because I might have acquiesced unnecessarily.

Love this place. My teeth had been bothering me for a few weeks. I came in 45 minutes before closing thinking I might need a filling. Nope. Turns out I had infection and needed an extraction. My dentist, Dr. Mike, ended up staying late to take care of me. An hour past closing!Im sure he had other things hed rather have been doing, but he finished what he started. All the while, his young daughter waited patiently for Dad to finish up. Seems my roots are long and curved (something like that) and what is usually pretty straightforward ended up taking 75 minutes. Great service. Thanks to the the whole team. Ill keep coming back.Mike

I switched over from a dentist I had for over 5 years due to it being too far a commute. I tried this place based on the yelp reviews and Im glad i did. Not only is it super close to my home and work, the staff and Doctor are super nice. Even though I already did my xrays for the year, the doctor still got them done without any costs to me to make sure that he had everything to make an initial assessment on my teeth. I was on a 3 times a year cleaning schedule for the past 3 years and after seeing Doctor, he suggested going back to 2x a year as I had healthy teeth and gums....made me wonder if my previous dentist put me on a 3x a year schedule just to collect insurance money. Overall, I had a good experience with everyone I came in contact with.

Everyone was super helpful and nice! I came in with my 3 kids and the staff made sure two of my kids (including a baby) were safe and occupied while me and my other son were getting checked. The office is very clean and they have a play section for the kiddos. There are also little toy trains that go throughout the whole office and my kids loved it! We are definitely coming back!

The Dental express was truly an amazing experience. When you walked in its so beautiful and classy. The full staff is so pleasant and happy. They have a cool train that goes around all of the top of the wall and through all the rooms. I had an amazing cleaning and am very happy to have them as my dentist team.

I have 3 kids and a big family. Never happened to anyone I know. Amazing the negligence! Besides that, my crown that they put in fell out in 11 months! I was told I needed to get a new crown! I did, but went somewhere else and aren’t ever looking back. What a shame. Such a great staff but the dental work is not acceptable

Yesterday (June 26, 2017) was my first appointment with Dental Express. It will not be my last. My experience was great! All of the staff were super friendly and welcoming! Just called to have my records sent over to a different office and the receptionist sounded extremely impatient. I felt rushed off the phone when attempting to clarify when my request will be completed by. My overall experience at this office was good when it came to my dentist but I always had to wait in the dental chair for at least an hour after my scheduled appointment time. Aside from moving further away from this office, my main concern was the wait time despite having a set appointment time.

This has been my dentist ever since I moved to California. I like how you can make an appointment online and they call you to confirm. The waiting room is pleasant and the entire place is very clean. Theyre always on time. Receptionists are extremely friendly. Hygienists are very friendly and detailed. Theres all new equipment and X-ray machines.Dr. Jamie is a great dentist and is always friendly and professional. I havent had any serious work done at this place but I wouldnt hesitate if I needed it. He seems experienced.

Every time Ive called to make an appointment Ive been able to get an appointment that same day. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly. They make my child feel at ease while getting her cleanings which make our experience there a good one. You know your dental clinic is great when your 4 year old is more than excited to go see the dentist.

Dr. Mike is awesome and so is Bethany, who cleaned my teeth. Actually felt pampered today, which is a wonderful way to feel at the dentist! The new front desk staff are friendly and personable! As always, with every single appointment Ive had at Dental Express-Point Loma, I have been treated with the utmost respect, professional care, and kindness by Dr. Jamie and his entire staff. Dental Express is surprisingly really nice. I say surprisingly because of the name and that old saying about not judging a book by its cover is so true. Everyone there is super nice and professional. The dentist and hygienist are very gentle and personable. I will be back when I need another cleaning. The office is very clean too, I was impressed.

Got a tooth pulled out, and also talked about getting dentures. Any other dentist would have sent me out the door with out a care of how I feel about my teeth. This dentist is the best Ive ever been too. Ill never go any where else for as long as I have my teeth. Got dentures done with Dr Casey. Excellent experience, loved him and the whole all around dentist. Wont go anywhere else and would recommend this dentist for anyone. They helped me through it all and just a lovely place to go, would even take my daughter here, unfortunately they dont put people to sleep though. Still lived it though, they dont try and charge me extra for what my insurance already covers. They except dentical. The western dental wanted to charge me extra for everything! This place is definitely worth it and made me feel pretty!

I have never had such a positive experience at a dental office. Every single staff member is professional, polite and very friendly. The dentist comes up with a health plan and the skilled office team helps you make the most of your insurance, clearly explaining prices and payments. I never dread a visit there!

According to this dentist, and only this dentist, medi-cal doesnt cover root canals. Thats actually totally false. Medical covers root canals. The other 3 offices I went to cover it. But if you read the reviews you will see they double charge and scam people frequently. So now I have to figure out to contact about this scam.

The entire staff is very friendly and upbeat. They were very gracious and kept me informed and comfortable every step of the way, even though I hadnt been to the dentist in years. The entire facility is incredibly clean and they even worked with me to figure out insurance details. I highly recommend them if you are searching for a new dentist office.

We have had nothing but good experiences every time at Dental Express in Point Loma. A 4 year old who looks forward to going to the dentist it a testament to the great service they provide. The staff is always friendly and they treat you like family. There are many other dentist offices closer to home, but we are happy with Dental Express Point Loma.

My daughter had her first filling today she is only 5 and was very nervous poor baby... Eric and the dental assistant...sorry I don’t remember how to spell his name but it was his first day... they both were so wonderfly kind to my daughter and really explained the process to her in a way her 5 year old brain could understand they were very patient and great communicating with her. My Husband and I both HAD a horrible phobia when it came to dental visits but Dr. Jaime and his Assistant Ruben helped get us over our anxiety. Ruben is amazing at what he does. If you need impressions or getting Smile Correct trays, Ruben is the perfectionist youll want to work with! Dr. Jaime is really nice, informative, and strait forward. Hes incredibly helpful at helping you prioritize what work needs to be done and the staff is great at helping with breaking down financing. These people not only know what theyre doing but they CARE about their patients. I highly recommend them if you need someone to help you get over your fears and get the job done!

I have FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE visiting this clinic, and these people are price gougers. They wanted to charge me 200.00 dollars for what they called irrigation on a deep cleaning. This was just a simple mouth rinse and was completely covered under DentiCal with another Dentist. PLEASE get a second evaluation if they ask you for ANY money out of pocket.

I needed a wisdom tooth pulled. Dr. Casey was able to see me right away (on a Saturday morning) and performed the extraction in about a half hour! It was virtually painless. His follow-up appointment was also a breeze. Great value, too. Dr. Casey and his entire staff are super friendly; his new office is just beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend him!

Its normally always gone to a one-man-band practice. This is the first time in 45 years that I decided to think outside the box and I came across Dental Express with Dr. Casey and his group. All of his staff are in very professional and down to earth and they also are so good at what they do! Dr. Casey has gone above and beyond to help me with a very infected tooth and now Im on the other side thanks to him! My daughter who is 7 and terrified of dentist was able to go to this practice and get a couple cavities filled and not have to go to a child dentist because they are so good with children as well. Im just so happy with all of my results.

After years of not going to the dentist, I stumbled upon Dental Express. Everyone from the front desk, to the dental hygienist, and the dentist were very friendly and helpful. I felt like I was around family. If you are in the San Diego area please go there, you will not be disappointed.

From my first phone call with a dental emergency, they got me in same day. All the staff is so nice, friendly, they helped me through my anxiety of the dentist. I’ve been back several times, just had oral surgery with Dr. Jaime. I’ve already recommended them to my family & bringing my kids in too. Very child friendly office with a play area (perfect for my toddlers) a train that circles the ceiling is a great touch especially for kids. Can’t say enough positive things about the entire staff.

Today was my first time at Dental Express. It was very nice, the staff was friendly and fun, and I thought the trains were really cool. I got three teeth extracted and it went very smoothly. I also got a Dental Express t-shirt for being a new patient. I love my new dentist!

By far, Dental Express was the best dental experience Ive had ever. To start, their office is so clean, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. So far Ive had my teeth cleaned by their hygienist and a filling repaired by the denist Casey. Both were very knowledgeable and handled my teeth with care. They made sure I was comfortable and answered the questions I had. They did not pressure me into treatments that were not necessary and gave me advice on how to improve my dental care. They even offered me food before getting my dental work done, knowing I wouldnt eat for a couple hours! Now, thats service! I left feeling great with clean, healthy teeth, a new tooth brush, tooth paste and floss! Just how every visit should be!

I HATE going to the Dentist. This also helps explain my Beetle Juice smile. Mere toothaches were not enough for me to overcome my terror; however when the abscess brought me to my knees, I found myself at Dental Express. Not only was the entire visit free from pain (except the abscess),the staff made me feel relaxed and important. They had me in and out in well under an hour and made a future appointment to remove and replace my entire NEW grill...6 out of 5 starsThank you again, David.

My daughter had her teeth cleaned here on a Saturday. It was so nice that they could se her and I didnt have to check her out of school. She had 2 cavities, but the dentist was able to do her fillings today too. It was nice to not get referred out to a childrens dentist again A lot of other dentists have not been able to help her through her anxiety. He was very patient with her and she did great. This was my second visit to Dental Express. Once again I highly recommend Dr. Casey and his staff! Everyone at Dental Express made the situation as pleasant as possible. When I called I was offered several immediate appointment options and the waiting time to see the dentist was less than five minutes. Dr. Casey and his assistant took the time to listen to my concerns and instead of jumping to the most expensive and elaborate procedure they offered the least evasive and most effective solution. For the second time I am very happy to have found Dental Express. The amazing staff, the modern, clean facility and convenient location make this the best dental option by far!

Our family enjoy coming into dental express , They open on Saturday’s which makes it more convenient for us since we’re busy with school & works on the weekdays, The staff there are all so friendly and welcoming . They make my kids feel comfortable while being worked on , I recommend this dentist place to my friends and family and will continue to keep coming back.

Dr. Casey is the BEST DENTIST ever!!I am so glad I was able to see him when I had some major dental concerns. He took the time to explain to me my problem, my OPTIONS & what could be done to fix it, how the process worked, and what to expect afterwards. He even had his office call to check on me to see how I was doing, a few days after procedure.I would recommend Dr. Casey to all my family and friends. Hes not only a great Dentist- but a CARING Dentist as well, and THAT makes ALL THE difference!

Very professional and friendly staff. They use new equipment and the atmosphere of the inside of the building is very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Dental Express based on my experience with new patient exams, dental cleanings, tooth x-rays, and professionalism of the whole staff.

I made an appointment for myself and two kids, later I was told one of my boys was not covered by insurance. Then I get a cancellation for myself saying I too wasnt covered. They spelled my one sons last name wrong, they are twins. He actually was covered too.They had the wrong birth date for me. I too was covered. After my kids check up and cleaning they needed a medical release form oking treatment. That took a few weeks just to say they never recieved the notice but would fax my kids Dr. I gave them the fax# and waited a few weeks, left a message and never heard back. Today I called asking if theyve been cleared for treatment since its been a month or so, and the receptionist said that there were no notes for them at all! And it was so difficult trying to explain this situation I finally said forget it we will find another dentist, she said OK thats fine. Click. My son has two severe cavities and has been in pain. For too long. Thanks Dental Express!

Wow! Ive never liked going to the dentist... had to go today do to procrastination AND what an awesome experience! Same day appointment. got my teeth cleaned, 5 fillings and cosmetic repair on a front tooth all in under two hours. Great staff and the Dr. was positive and straight forward. Not a bad day at the dentist at all even after putting it off for over a decade. Thank you for protecting my smile Dental Express!

Today was my first time going to Dental Express. The office was very nice and clean, the staff was friendly and efficient, and most importantly I was very comfortable there. I basically love my new dentist!

I absolutely love dental express they have amazing staff!!! And doctors are experienced,kind, professional, and if youre having an emergency they get you in right away illI never go anywhere else!! Kind staff members. Dr. has down to earth advice and they take Denti-Cal for some things but most of the work I need, root canals, crowns, etc is not covered and is too expensive. Ill go back for fillings and cleanings though.

This place is great with kids and is a really kids friendly office my daughters first dental appointment was with this dental express and she had trouble at first but they took there time with her and she got more comfortable each and every time we visited. We had a total of 4 visits before we moved away wish we could continue with this place this is a good kid location!!!

This place is absolutely amazing, Ive never been treated that way at the dentist before in my life (sorry for exaggerating but its true) they even give you free a T-shirt for first time patients. Very professional people

The office manager (Mexican guy) is very arrogant and condescending. He has a answer for everything. Treatment is not good here and you will leave dumbfounded because they will tell you how they cannot do a treatment because they wont get paid enough for it! Then why are you taking medical? Very low IQ levels working here. Had emergency pain appointment and would not recommend the headache here.

To me, the dentist is a horrible place whos sole purpose is to fuel my anxiety. That being said, I hardly ever go to the dentist. I had a horrible tooth ache and have been going to this dentist for over a year now and I LOVE them. The staff are well knowledged, friendly, and make you feel safe! I HIGHLY recommend this place.
