I love Bar Method! Ive tried barre classes in other cities and this one is quite different. Im always impressed that the teachers remember your name and take a moment to connect with you. They truly want you to succeed and get the most out of class. I really appreciate that. And on top of that, they have found a good place with relation to Covid. They have all done their absolute best to meet the needs of the community while being completely safe. Would definitely recommend.

If you are looking for a safe way to strengthen your entire body, this is it! Ive been attending Bar Method classes for almost 9 years and I still LOVE it! I remember after the first month began, I marveled at how strong my triceps, stomach muscles and quadriceps got! 9 years later, classes are still challenging! You will never find a more customer-service oriented staff and team there - they know you by name after your first day!! I love that the instructors pay attention to every single persons form and correct it so you can get the most out of every exercise. The studio is extremely clean, modern, welcoming and classy. I would recommend this to ANYONE looking to improve their body, mind and spirit.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for The Bar Method and what a positive role it has played in my life for the past 8 months that I have been part of this community. I am convinced that no other type of fitness format can so thoughtfully challenge, strengthen, and simultaneously celebrate the body and mind.Carrie and the rest of the amazing and highly-trained instructors care about their clients not only as barre enthusiasts, but as individual people. I absolutely adore The Bar Method. The instructors are incredibly nice and genuine. They care about each student’s growth and work diligently to make each class as beneficial as possible. Their response to the pandemic has been incredible. Their social distancing practices, sanitation methods, and safety measures are impeccable. While a little intimidating at first (be sure to use the Epsom salts they give you), growing into the class is a wonderful thing. I have found ways to stretch myself and grow stronger with every session. Everything is super customizable, and the instructors are very attentive to form and technique so that participants can get the most out of class and minimize any physical complications or risks. If you are on the fence, definitely try their new student three punch pass. 💖

Its amazing! i feel so much stronger and stand up straighter and love the classes. they are challenging but i really value how the teachers pay attention and make sure you are doing them moves correctly. everyone is so friendly there too and the place is beautiful. it is totally worth it.

I was pregnant throughout my membership at bar method. The instructors were excellent at providing modifications to ensure that I was working out safely. I felt my postpartum recovery has been easier so far than my previous pregnancy because I worked on pelvic floor and low back muscles at bar method. I Highly recommend going there For any reason but especially if you are pregnant and looking for a safe way to work out and strengthen important muscles that get weakened during pregnancy.

I cant say enough about the Bar Method! Ive been going for almost a year now and it has really changed my life. I was never someone who exercised regularly and this is something that has really stuck. I love the challenging workout and the ways it has changed my body, and how much stronger and more flexible Ive become. Most of all, I love the staff and instructors. Update: Ive been going here for a couple of months now and I REALLY love it. I feel stronger and I stand up straighter. The workouts are just really good but not hard on your joints.Ive had three classes so far. Great workout, great people. :) I really appreciate all the beneficial stretching and flexibility as well.

I have gone to the Bar Method for almost 3 years just shy of two months. I have had two pretty serious injuries and by going to the bar method it has assisted me with maintaining flexibility, strength, recovery and confidence. I have loved the staff and trainers. Everyone is so helpful and nice.I am a business owner, single mom and a bar method committed fan. I don’t have a lot of extra time in the day so I value the fact that they have a lot of 45 min options throughout the entire day. They create fun goals every month which helps with motivating me. I have never been one to go to the gym on a consistent basis but I have wanted to hit a goal going to the Bar Method. Since I started I have gone at least 16 times per month and have done it coming up on my third year. I really love to go and like the results even on the tough days. I recommend it to anyone that wants to try something new...Tina Bullen

No body shaming here! You are encouraged to start where you are and modify as needed. Modifications are always offered and instructors are generally very helpful to make corrections and offer suggestions so you get the best workout. This is a great environment to take care of your body and improve posture and overall health.

This is the hardest, but most rewarding workout Ive ever done. Ive now taken over 1000 classes and theyre just as challenging now as when I began, because it only gets more effective the better your technique becomes. The exercises themselves are amazingly transformative, but its the uplifting feeling of the whole studio itself and the amazing instructors that make this my happy place. You will know what I mean the minute you walk through the door!

This is the best exercise experience I have ever had! The staff are so friendly and know me by name. As for the barre workouts, I love them!! I did ballet in college and have found the Bar Method to be one of the most enjoyable and effective workouts. I really feel stronger and more energized. So glad I found this place!!

The Bar Method is by far my favorite place to get a good workout. The teachers and staff are amazing! They are very professional and highly trained. They always offer support and encouragement to ensure that every student, regardless of skill/fitness level is challenged to the right level of difficulty. The classes are tailored to individual needs and appropriate modifications are offered to those in need. The Bar Method has changed my life. Plain and simple. It has made me stronger both physically and mentally. I love walking through the doors and being welcomed by familiar, caring faces. The exercise itself is very challenging and I am constantly sore (in a good, body-transforming way), even after three years of coming 4-5 times a week. The experience, the exercise, never gets old. I can’t say enough positive about Bar Method Salt Lake. The owner, Carrie, and her thoughtfully selected instructors and staff have managed to create a sense of community like nowhere else I’ve experienced. They are professional, knowledgeable and provide a safe and highly effective workout every single time. I started Bar Method classes when they opened in Utah seven years ago and have had a membership since. It’s the one thing in my budget that is non-negotiable!Bar Method creates long and lean muscle tone...you’ll see and feel a difference in your body fast. My sister and I came here for a new type of workout while visiting from NYC and had a great experience! Keri was extremely friendly and nice helpful from the moment we walked in, and Alison was an excellent instructor who paid close attention to us as newcomers, but also the rest of the class. She was knowledgeable about the movements, played great music, and helped everyone with their form! We really enjoyed our workout and recommend to anyone in the SLC area :)

So much more that a great work out! I love Bar Method Sugar House! The exercises are intense, but very doable. They require a lot of focus and your brain gets a work out as well. The studio is very comfortable and the props really help you get the most out of every session. What really sets Bar Method apart are the people. The staff is very warm and genuinely care about you as a person. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. Best exercise studio in SLC!

Love the Bar Method! Their style of a barre class is a great combination of workout, followed immediately after stretching that muscle. All the teachers are fantastic! I decided to try The Bar Method in late November 2017 and I am amazed at how much I have changed in that time. In my first couple of months I went 3 times a week and for the last few months I have been attending 4 times a week. In that short time, my flexibility and strength have changed dramatically along with my muscle tone and my energy level. I am so grateful to the staff at The Bar Method for this. Their encouragement, expert instruction, and the atmosphere are all incredibly positive. I could not say enough about the staff and all of the people that I have met in class, everyone is so supportive and there is a lot of fun as well. I joined The Bar Method in March 2016. I consistently started going in May 2016. It was HARD even though I had been currently working out 4-5 days a week doing body pump I thought bar method was going to be a snap. Still to this day I feel challenged and I feel new strength building. In 2017 I had 2 major set backs which could have been worse had it not been for The Bar Method. My doctors even stated that my surgery and injury recovery time would have been double had it not been for the strength and tone in my muscles. Not only did Bar Method help with my physical recovery-I know that without a doubt that I would not have survived without the mental strength that I had due to Bar Method. The physical strength, the mental strength and the support of the Bar Method family is something that is hard to explain. What I do know is that I hope that in 2018 I dont have to go without it for months like I did in 2017.The Bar Method is something so different-so unique-so important. ANYONE at any stage of their lives can do the classes. I am a firm believer that if you come to class and try to be your best-YOU will transform your body. Life changing and mind changing. I cant say enough about the classes but also about the instructors/the welcoming crew and Carrie the owner! This review could go on and on.....if anyone ever doubts that this is the perfect body and mind workout-talk to me! It saved me from going cray cray!!!

What an incredible workout. Knowledgeable instructors, a kick butt workout, and a staff attuned to customer satisfaction.Since writing my first review, I have learned that the exercises are thoroughly reviewed by Physical Therapists to assure each exercise is safe and effective. The teachers have been taught how to adjust students and how to describe the pose before the students move into them.I have back issues. The instructors know the modifications to build the support!!! Over the last 7 months, my back has become strong and a lot less pain than before I began.Highly recommend as a great workout! You will see a difference if you commit to a minimum of a month!!

Can’t believe how amazing this place is! From the staff, to the instructors, to the owner, I feel like I’m treated special, and they are always doing everything they can to push me towards my fitness goals. They are motivating, fun, and it is THE best full body workout I’ve ever done in an hour. I’m a guy who used to go to the gym 5+ times a week, but at bar, I feel so welcome and encouraged, and it is now such an important part of my fitness routine. Not only has this class helped with my physical health, it has helped immensely with my mental health as well. I attend The Bar Method 4 to 5 times a week and it is my favorite way to start the day. I love the instructors and staff at the studio. They are incredibly friendly and really care about the well-being of everyone in class. I love the way the exercises push me and continue to be difficult even though I have been attending classes for more than two years. I also love that we stretch after every set of exercises. Stretching feels like a reward for working so hard and Ive seen my flexibility increase significantly over time. If you are looking for a challenging, low-impact workout, The Bar Method may be perfect for you. Give it a try!

I have been attending The Bar Method in Salt Lake City for several years, because the results are evident from going three to four times a week. The instructors pay attention to proper form and make corrections to ensure the most effective workout. It is a plush experience with the studio providing hand towels (to absorb sweat) and padded mats with covers. There is coffee in the waiting area along with assorted toiletries in the dressing area. Days lockers are provided, with locks to secure personal belongings while in class. The best part is how friendly and inviting the staff is each and every time. I have gone to barre studios elsewhere with the instructors doing the workouts and not making corrections, and I can tell you from experience, The Bar Method in the Sugarhouse section of Salt Lake City is first class. Treat yourself to an exercise program that provides results, is fun to do, with a pleasant atmosphere. The studio is bright and cheerful and you will be too.

I tried many types of fitness routines before finally finding a home with the Bar Method. Workout videos, gym memberships, etc just didnt work for me. The Bar Method is an amazing total body workout that leaves you knowing you have worked every muscle in your body. I go 4-5 days a week and my physically has improved so much including my muscle tone, my flexibility, and my overall joint health. The instructors and staff are fantastic. I have never been so excited to go to a workout class in my life. The staff and instructors are so nice and inviting, and they all know your name! The workout is tough but so enjoyable and I have definitely noticed a huge difference in my flexibility and body shape since I began. The workout is always challenging and I find that as I get better at my form, the exercises get more and more effective, so I never feel as though I have reached a plateau.

I have fallen in love with the Bar Method. When I first started going I had just finished therapy after a terrible hamstring strain, from running. I loved running, and I was so worried I would get out of shape not being able to do it with all the pain I was in. The Bar Method was gentle, but challenging, and it has continued to be so! It has, safely, got me back in shape, I am in significantly less pain, and I am so much stronger than I was 6 months ago. The results are amazing and visible. It has become a place of enjoyment for me, a break in my day for just me. I love this place, the people and the workout. I would recommend it to absolutely, anyone!

I have been a Bar student for almost 5 years. It has benefited me greatly with athletic activities and post accident recovery. I road cycle and ski and with Bar I have greater flexibility, strong core for endurance and strength. By ski season I am in good condition to hit the slopes. It is with deep appreciation and love that I am taking time to write a review for The Bar Method in Sugarhouse. Since closing the building in mid March, Carrie and the staff and teachers have created an amazing experience to continue the classes virtually. I can imagine this was no simple task but the commitment to finding ways creatively to provide me with classes during this challenging time has been not just valuable, but stabilizing and nourishing. Although I really miss the connection of being present in the studio with others sweating and groaning at times, the teachers have managed to not only provide really tough workouts virtually, they continue to make it fun and tell me to keep on going just at the right moments. I joined Salt Lake City’s Bar Method studio six months ago at a friend’s invitation. I’d heard of barre classes, had even taken a few several years ago, but nothing prepared me for the first class experience of Bar Method. After that first class I was hooked. I’d done strength classes in the past, a little Pilates, a low-impact/high cardio gym that whipped me into shape 4 years ago, but I had stopped and didn’t feel that was the right thing for my current situation. I had been taking Zumba classes that I love for 10 years but needed “something else” to get me back into shape and improve my strength, fitness, balance and flexibility.That “something else” turned out to be Bar Method. It’s a workout I can do every single day without getting injured. It’s hard, but a feel-good hard.Right after my first experience I signed up for unlimited monthly classes and attended 3-4 times a week. I now aim for 4-5 times a week. I love that instructors know each class member by name and walk the room to give individual attention and adjust clients as needed. Their feedback is always positive, supportive and accommodating of individual need and ability. I noticed the instructor training is very thorough; they know the body and always seek to help clients get the most of each move while protecting the joints, for example. They’re true professionals in the fitness world. I’ve not met one *weak* instructor.I leave class feeling stronger but not worn out, rather, I’m energized. I leave class with improved posture which becomes so important as we age—I just turned 65.In addition to impeccable instruction, the front desk staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Instructors stand by the desk to greet those coming to their next class. The studio is always perfectly clean and orderly, a very pleasant, soothing venue.The cost is extremely reasonable and, to my surprise, the monthly membership is suspended if you let them know you’ll be out of town for a week or more. Never heard of anything like that before!I couldn’t be more pleased with Bar Method; it’s simply perfect.

Love this class!Ive never taken any kind of exercise class and this is really the first exercise Ive ever done since I was 12...I went to my first class last August and was hooked. Been going at least 16 times a month since then.My body is the most toned its ever been! My muscles have leaned out! Theres no pain in my back when I carry my purse (I know, strange, but I used to not be able to carry my purse for even 10 minutes without back pain and its not even that heavy)! I can carry it for hours with no problems now. Theres less pain overall!And, while Ive always had great posture, Ive been receiving even more compliments about my posture.Ive also gotten down to a size 4 from a 10 - 12. I had to get rid of a ton of clothing... 😊 I didnt know my body was capable of being a size 4...I can do cartwheels and walk on my hands again. Im 42 (soon to be 43) years old. Did gymnastics as a child. Over the years this became more difficult. I could do it, but not without difficulty and strained muscles and pain. I could probably hone the skill back in if I tried!Ive noticed my ability in the class has just gotten better and better. When I started there were things I could not do, but as one goes through the movements it becomes easier. However, easier does not mean the workout is less intense or effective; it just gets deeper and deeper into the muscle and I can feel that!Its worth the money and the time; Im getting up there in age and have never been more in shape or had so much energy. My only regret: not taking before and after pics...The instructors are all very skilled and professional and know their stuff. They explain what your body is doing, such as when stretching youre effectively leaning out the muscles, etc. Theyre great!! Its a clean environment, there are locking lockers if one desires and even toiletries and hair ties of one forgets theirs.Come to the Bar Method! You will not be disappointed!

By far one of my favorite workouts. The class reminds me so much of a calisthenics work I used to do in gymnastics. And it so fun to see my flexibility that I used to have as a teenager start to come back. The staff and instructors are fabulous, and the hands on corrections are always so helpful in getting you in the right position to make the most out of each exercise.

I love The Bar Method! I have struggled with chronic back and neck issues for 20 years. I have not found any exercise that I can tolerate over the past 5 years. I finally mustered up the courage to try Bar and Im hooked! My body started changing over the first week. As a physical therapist, I am amazed at the skill of the instructors. They are educated in modifying the exercises to suit anyone and everyone.

The workout at The Bar Method is focused and intense. I also practice yoga and really appreciate the way The Bar Method compliments that practice. I have noticed a significant difference in my leg strength, particularly my thighs, as I ski and hike, but what I enjoy the most about the studio is the people! Every teacher knows my name - and has since day one. All the staff work so hard to make you feel welcome and part of the community. Other people in class actually talk to one another, even when you are the new person in the room. And there is laughter, even when your muscles are exhausted from the work, there is laughter!

As a man who doesnt always love exercise, I was very pleased with my experience at The Bar Method. Carrie, the owner and my instructor, took the time during class (without neglecting the overall class) to make sure that I was doing things correctly to avoid injury and to also maximize my exercise. I began attending classes in 2014 looking for some guidance with my workouts after years of going it alone with running, cycling, swimming and ab work. I have always been a pretty active and fit person (with the exception of my first pregnancy which was a disaster!) and I knew my body could be pushed harder. Well, I found the place to do just that! My first class I remember quaking and shaking during one of three sets of thigh-work and the instructor beaming at me. telling me that I had found the proper muscle group to work and to hang on to it! After over two years of classes I am not bored, Im not looking for a different workout. While I still do lots of other activities, The Bar Method has given me more strength, stamina and core endurance than I have ever had. Oh, and from day 1, the staff and teachers at The Bar Method really do know your name.

Wow! What a fabulous exercise! Youll see an immediate transformation in your body. Especially the booty! I lost a pound a class my first 4 classes. Youll stand up straighter, have better posture and a toned and lean body.

I love the Bar Method SLC! The classes are challenging but the instructors are all first rate and extremely helpful. They watch YOU, and recognize where youre at and what feedback/support you need each class. (Sometimes, I wish they werent so eagle-eyed, but Im always happy with the result.) Im learning and getting stronger with each class. Whatever level youre at, whatever your age, or whatever backqround you bring, youll find a home here. Their gift of community is essential in this chaotic year!

In addition to being the most effective, high intensity, low impact workout, the Bar Method in Sugar House has the most inviting and sweetest staff in SLC! It’s also very clean- smudge free mirrors, fresh towels, and prompt responses truly demonstrate that the owner elevated her passionate hobby into a well runned business! Love it.

Just one hour a day at a Bar Method class and I feel stronger mentally and physically. All of the instructors give precise descriptions of each technique so I know I wont get injured. The staff always knows me by first name and seem genuinely happy to see me.

I was a member at The Bar Method in Chicago and when I moved here I was so excited there was one here in SLC! This studio is great! Amazing instructors and high energy.Im currently 3 months postpartum and I am amazed at how fast my body has transformed! Each work out is extremely challenging and I always leave shaky and sore!

The classes are fast moving and challenging. But... most Barre studios that I go to ask if I have any injuries that they should know about. The instructors at this studio never asked about injuries, and I am used to doing my own modifications since I have been doing Barre for over 5 years. They tried to help me by changing the way I was doing the exercise, not realizing I was injured and couldnt do that exact exercise without modifications. So... good workout, but not the best Barre studio I have been to.

BarMethod checks all my boxes for what I want in a workout, and then it goes beyond that. I get a full body sculpting session every time. I get a deep challenge with a steady, wholistic approach. I don’t have to think about it all at all. BarMethod is simple. (not easy) I show up, do the work and adjust when directed by the coach.The coaches might be my favorite part. Every last one of them is kind and seems truly sincere. This is hugely important to me. The space is beautiful and calm and I feel well taken care of when I’m at BarMethod.Some of the side benefits are, for one, that I feel more engaged with my community because of the friends I make in class and because of the contests and incentives BarMethod offers which are always partnered with local businesses and charities. This also helps me stay motivated and consistent, which is another side benefit.The thing though, that TRULY keeps me coming back is the results. This workout really gives me the long lean dancer physique I’m looking for, so it’s a no brainer for me. I pay more for this than I ever thought I would for a workout, but this more than that, and BarMethod really strives to give you value for what you pay for. It is worth every penny.
