With a background in athletics Im pretty particular about the gym I join. I found 212fitness 7 years ago and its the first place that I knew I could sustain and really benefit from long term. Comfortable for all levels of fitness. The people are welcoming and supportive. The eye on detail for correct movements is appreciated and reduces the injuries often seen by lack of attention in other places.I appreciate the benefits my mind and body have gained. If you are looking for a place to reach your fitness and health goals, you owe it to yourself to check this one of a kind place.

Ive been a member of 212 for a few months now and wanted to express how important the classes have been in improving my quaility of life. My profession is demanding physically and Ive always thought thats all I need to maintain my fitness, but Josiah and the crew at 212 have been so helpful in helping me supplement my strength and flexibility. Getting older doesnt have to mean slowing down! Im feeling better than I have in years.The facility is top notch and the atmosphere is very inclusive, felt welcomed from day one. Id been a bit apprehensive about joining a workout class type of program but couldnt be happier with the decision.

I love this place. The workouts are engaging, challenging, and fun. Having it in a class setting keeps you motivated to keep pushing. The people in the classes are great; and the coaches are phenomenal. I was fortunate to stumble onto this gym when we first moved to SLC, and its been great ever since. Josiah and his staff are top notch, kind, and want the best for you. Come for the workouts, but stay because the people are awesome.

My 12 yr old is in the Junior High class and absolutely loves it. It has helped him focus and get stronger for his other sports. The coaches are fun and encouraging. He looks forward to going to every class because its a positive experience.

Excellent programs, excellent trainers, plenty of options for times to show up. Great atmosphere for all fitness levels. in my opinion, the value of the membership is awesome because group sessions are small enough to get helpful feedback from the trainers. Great business, couldnt be happier!

Not just a gym! If you wonder why there are so many 5 star reviews for this place, come check it out!!!The trainers, exercises, and classes are all about getting you in top physical shape where you can enjoy life at a whole new level. I highly recommend Josiah, Jamie, Ty and Austin!But the thing I love the most is the lifelong friendships and relationships I’ve built in this 212 community. 212 is unique in that the workouts each week are designed to reach all the main muscle groups in my body. I am a skier and I used to think I had muscles I only used for skiing. At the beginning of each season, I would ski a few runs on the first weekend and be incredibly sore for a week; hardly able to walk. No more — after going to 212 regularly, I can hit opening day and be skiing like it is mid-season.Goodbye 2020 - Happy 2021! 212 kept me sane in 2020 because of the excellent training and workout programming. The coaches all encourage me—just as they encourage everyone in the 8-12 person classes—to push for that extra effort. At other gyms, I would give up after a few reps because there was no one pushing me to excel. The results from my year at 212 have been amazing. I’m strong now and ready to go hiking, biking or skiing at anytime. It is great to be in shape. Thanks 212!

I LOVE this gym. I stacked a cord of fire wood today. I wanted to thank Josiah for teaching me how to brace my core for back movements. Without that knowledge, I would NOT be able to accomplish such tasks. Something so simple changed my life for the better. Thank you immensely!!!

I joined 212 Fitness Zoom Classes 2 months ago and love the progressive conditioning. I feel strong whether alpine or nordic skiing, it has paid off. Finished my fastest 10K Skate Skiing this week and still felt fresh. Thanks 212!

I thought it would be appropriate for me to write a review about my experience with 212 Fitness after being there for over two months! Here are some of the items I feel are important when people are thinking about joining 212!The use of names by the coaches (Josiah, Ty, and Austin). No matter who is coming and going, everyone is greeted by name. They make it a point to build a relationship with members. They ask about your family, your life, and have continued to make conversation about what’s going on in my personal life. We had a member who lost a father and they presented a card for everyone to sign for her. This kind of act shows that they care about the members.The Thanksgiving GIVE BACK was also amazing. Goal was to raise $1,000 and they raised well over $3,000. That right there shows me the kind of community they have built in this gym.These guys are motivating but not overwhelming, yelling at everyone, or trying to overwork people. The motivation during class is enough to push people to overload, but not overtrain. They are always moving around the gym, observing everyone and providing encouraging and general feedback, but also being critical and detailed about technique when needed.Easy to register for classes! The scheduling app you use is so easy!They gave everyone a Christmas present! I know this may not be important to some, but they spent a good deal of money to provide each member a little gift for the Holidays. Such a nice gesture that goes a long way!I can’t say enough about this gym. So excited to be a part of this community and hope to see more people join!

High quality functional fitness training and absolutely the best staff! During COVID times I’ve never seen any other facility take such amazing safety measures. Not only does the staff care but the other members care by wearing masks and cleaning off equipment and keeping classes at small capacity. All skill levels are truly able to get a solid workout and class times are offered at all peak times. I’ve spent time in almost every gym in SLC and I’m so happy to have found 212 Fitness!

The Team at 212 Fitness are above amazing if that’s even possible. I started going there almost a year ago and never regretted it. The staff and clients are so welcoming no matter what level of fitness you are at! Josiah took the time to learn my needs and tailor every work out to push me and help me grow! So sad we moved to Australia and had to leave. Loved it so much I even joined in from Australia for a few zoom recordings!Afraid of COVID they even do a zoom class in the comfort of your home! I love going to classes at 212, which is absolutely remarkable as this is the first time Ive truly enjoyed going to a gym consistently. Awesome gym! I’d heard from others how great it was for a couple of years and finally gave it a try - so glad I did. My wife and I and our two adult children all work out here. We like it so much and consider the results so valuable that we’re paying for our employees to work out here as well. I did 21 years in the US Army and have always been healthy and fit but 212 Fitness and Josiah and his crew are taking me to the next level in strength and safe, sustainable fitness so I can up my game while playing in the outdoors! These guys are non pretentious, knowledgeable, focused, motivational, and all around great coaches! And the community we’ve found here is awesome! Friendly but driven people who support each other. Couldn’t ask for a better experience! Worth every penny!

This is a great gym! The trainers truly care about their members and are making sure we are getting quality workouts along with quality coaching. The workouts are always challenging and are never boring. This is the first gym I have been to where there is an actual community. We push each other and we hold each other accountable. Josiah has created a special product in this gym. It intense and difficult, but rewarding. He always makes sure you are doing the exercises with correct form. Its like have a personal trainer without the high cost. Give it a try! You wont regret it. The camaraderie is uplifting and encouraging when the workouts are difficult.

212 Fitness is a great place to maintain my fitness level and challenges me to make improvements each time I visit. Josiah Schultz, Chandler Morrison & Steven Arnold are a great group of trainers. They are all keen to each individuals fitness level and are diligent when it comes to making sure each person in the gym is doing every exercise correctly, all the while safely pushing us toward that point at which individual goals can be realized. I have been coming since March of 2017 and have no plans to stop anytime soon!(Thanks must go out to Jamie Schultz as well who, alongside Josiah, has worked tirelessly in making 212 Fitness a truly great place to not only stay fit, but also to foster friendships with other members and to participate in events that give back to community at large.)

I recently turned 60 and knew I had to up my game if I wanted to stay active and continue to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. My experience at 212 Fitness is unlike any gym experience Ive been part of. The workouts are never boring , always challenging and I frequently find myself doing exercises that I never thought I was capable of. The coaches are incredible. Not only do they want you to know the how and the why behind each exercise but they make sure youre doing it safely and correctly. Last but not least, the gym environment is very welcoming and positive.

212 is the best! The classes are geared around trying to make you stronger for the way you live outside the gym. They are very concerned about the way you are exercising and lifting, to make sure you stay injury free. Do to my line of work, I have had back issues for years. Since my time at 212, I dont have the same constant pain I used to. I am much stronger than I have been in years, and Im able to do what ever I want, or need to do pain free. They also try very hard to create a team concept in the gym. Everyone is there to support each other, no matter what your personal goals may be. Great place!

I have exercised regularly for years, but was looking for something to kick it up. 212 definitely does that! The classes are always energetic and never boring. The community you build with others in your class also makes you want to come. Everyone is supportive, the instructors are very knowledgeable and well trained, and you always feel like you have accomplished something at the end of every class. Whether you have never exercised, or you are a pro, you will still be challenged, but never pushed to injury. The strength that I have gained has translated to both my running and to my everyday life. Come check it out! You wont be disappointed.

I cant say enough good things about 212 Fitness. The group classes are very challenging. The environment is always positive and supportive. The other members motivate me to show up and push myself. The owners and trainers are very knowledgeable, they take the time to teach the correct movements and how those movements affect you inside and outside the gym. Ive tried a lot of gyms in Salt Lake, and this is by far the best one. The workouts are very intense but the trainers are always focused on making sure your form is correct as well. The community is very welcoming and helps to keep members accountable to show up to classes.

Over the last few months I decided to get back into mountain biking and finally found friends who have been taking me on some crazy rides! Utah is very different from the Georgia red clay to these major uphills! I recently rode Wasatch Crest Trail which was a beast! I also rode Thunder Mountain (Panguich Utah) which was even crazier! Needless to say while I am getting my mountain biking skills back, I have had to push my bike up some very strenuous uphills! Yes, I get off my bike at times to not only catch my breath but push my bike! I will say, with the HELP of sleds, I can push my bike a great deal faster!!! On one trail I even said to my friend Jessica, I now see the benefits do doing sleds! Everyone knows this is one of my favorite exercises at the gym which is crazy but to be able to apply it outside of the gym is just awesome! I appreciate the sleds and smile every time we have them! Thanks Josiah for strengthening me inside the gym and preparing me for outside of the gym as well! Love 212!!

Ive been attending 212 for over two years now. I love the group aspect. You get to know the people in your class and you are excited to see them. The community is amazing. The trainers are great too. They push enough to get you out of your comfort zone, but only push you as much as you should. They are encouraging and genuinely excited about your accomplishments in and outside of the gym. And Ive saved the best for last, Im now in the best shape of my life. My endurance has increased more than I ever thought possible. I have asthma and always thought that I just couldnt push that hard. And even more impressive than my endurance is my strength. 212 has been the best thing Ive done for myself ever.

I LOVE this gym! Ive been working out at various places for the past six years and this gym is by far my favorite! Great staff - theyre friendly and knowledgeable, the workouts are challenging and fun, and there is a great sense of comraderie and community. This reminds me of some cross fit workouts Ive done in the past, but without the crazy fanaticism that comes with cross fit training. Its all about lifting whats right for you, and doing it correctly. Super pumped I found this place and cant recommend it highly enough 👊🏽

This is a gym for everyone, regardless of your starting ability or previous gym experience. Thoughtful workouts and great coaching make it a place you want to return to, in contrast with most gyms and fitness classes. The trainers and clients are all very supportive and knowledgeable. Ive been going for two years and now I have my children going to the youth class so that they learn the correct way to incorporate weight training into their athletics.

My life and fitness has occurred in fits and starts. Skiing in winter, few hikes in the summer, and an occasional gym membership which meant reading my newest book on the bike or treadmill, lifting an occasional weight and calling it good.212 changed all that. I am in the best shape I have ever been in, even while moving through the sixth decade of life. I am stronger, have better balance, stamina, and health. Im off every medication ever prescribed and feel great, sleep great and can keep up with 7 grandkids! I can ski an entire run from top to bottom without screaming quads.I love working out with others. The trainers are motivating and encouraging. We are all glad to be there, knowing how much it will benefit us. Every article I read on health says exercise is the new fountain of youth. Love 212 Fitness! When I moved to SLC I had been looking for a great fitness family and I finally found one at 212. The trainers encourage you and push you to the extra degree and the members are dedicated, encouraging and wonderful people to be around. Best place ever to get the best workout ever. Josiah and Jamie are so supportive, always positive. I love 212...there is no other place like it. I have a significant scoliosis, especially in my Thoracic and Lumbar spine. When I started at 212, my curve measured 40. One year later, my doctor was amazed to measure the curve at 37!! I truly believe that the core workouts and overall strengthening I have done with Josiah and my wonderful 5pm partners were the main factor in the improvement of my spine.update; 1/11/2018: The other day we were out of town, staying at a hotel. I was leaning over the sink, brushing my teeth, when I noticed something in the mirror behind me. All of a sudden, Josiahs voice reverberated through my brain..These are things that we use in our everyday lives! and the other one..Dont let your back round out, flatten that back! As I was brushing my teeth, my back was rounded down in the worst position ever! I immediately stuck my butt out, flattened out my back, and finished my teeth in a more comfortable and functional position. Now, every time I lean over the sink, whether to wash my face or brush my teeth, I remember to squeeze my shoulder blades together, and dont let my back round out!My back continues to get stronger, and I have been able to physically do much more without constant pain. I am so glad that I was lucky enough to find this gym!!!!Thank you, Josiah!!

The 212 family is amazing!!! We were lucky enough to belong there during our short time in SLC! Josiah, Caleb and Chandler push your limits, while keeping you in correct form to prevent any injury. The workouts are different every day, yet build on each other each week. We learned a lot about weight lifting and dynamic training. This place is definitely one of the best in the business!!

ETA: Almost 5 years since I wrote the first review.I still feel as enthusiastic about 212 as I did then.In April I messed up my knee pretty significantly. The knee doc was shocked I was able to maintain a pretty normal activity level without much pain and said he wouldnt have diagnosed me with such a severe injury without the MRI. He credited the training I have done over the years at 212 because my muscles were adequately compensating for the lack of structure in my knee.In August I had major surgery and couldnt put any weight on my leg for 6 weeks, then an additional 6 weeks of physical therapy. Both my surgeon and my physical therapist were amazed at how quickly I recovered. My loss of strength in the leg I had surgery on was much less than expected and regained much quicker than the average patient, especially one my age (approaching 47). My surgeon said hed never seen anyone regain their flexibility and range of motion as quickly as I did. Both agreed it was a dream recovery because of the strength I had prior to the surgery.I was cleared to go back to all activity 5 weeks earlier than the usual protocol. All thanks to 212 Fitness! I was worried that getting back into the training classes would kill me after such a long break, but it has been MUCH better than I feared, and Im enjoying it so much!Love this place!First Review: 212 Fitness is the best thing I do for myself. At 42 years old Im the strongest Ive ever been and continue to see gains.My husband and I both attend the 6 am class. Some people schedule date nights- we have 212 mornings :)The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive. Dont be afraid to walk through those doors. Its all positive!The workouts are varied, efficient, and effective. Dont be mislead by the lack of treadmills and weight machines. Strength, cardio, HIIT, flexibility, fast twitch, slow twitch, inside, outside, you name it- theyve included it in the plan. Whether you come 2 days a week or 6, theyve taken it into account.The members are fantastic and a diverse bunch. We work HARD but we also laugh a lot!! All ages, all fitness levels, men and women sweating side by side, encouraging each other to be the best we can be. We even do events, like races and volunteering together, outside of the gym. I can sincerely say I consider my workout buddies to be good friends.Need help with nutrition? Theyve got you covered. Lots of information included with your membership, but if you want something more specialized and specific, they have that available as well.The staff is A-FREAKIN-MAZING. Incredibly knowledgeable, protective, authentic, fun, caring, committed. They will help you, wherever youre at right now, to begin to see yourself in a whole new light. They not only want to help you get fit, theyll educate you about living a healthy life.Im so excited theyve added the Strength 101 class for teens! I cant think of a better investment for my kids future!Seriously- try it. You wont regret it.
