I had an amazing experience with Dr. Peters and his staff. They have always been friendly and answered any questions that I had from the initial visit to visits after my surgery. I was super nervous to have my hip surgery done but everything went smoothly. Dr. Peters was kind and walked me through the surgery to help calm my nerves. I was set up to be successful after I left the hospital. I was checked up on several times after returning home. I appreciated the text messages throughout recovery that gave me tips and encouragement to get through the process. I definitely recommend Dr. Peters and his staff to anyone. I’m looking forward to healing and becoming better because of their help.

I had a total knee replacement in May 2021and have had a very positive experience with Dr. Peters and his team. Their connection and concern for my well being was outstanding and I am now 6 weeks out from surgery and recovery is going well. The team began communicating with me via awesome informational texts about 2 weeks prior to surgery and the info texts have continued through recovery. Topics changed daily but I felt that every bit of info they sent to me was relevant for where I was in my journey. My favorites-the Power of Positive thinking and the effect it can have on your treatment, Goals and You Got This! If I needed to talk with someone, my calls were always returned. And at 6 weeks post replacement, I am now able to bike, hike and play golf. Yay!!!I highly recommend anyone with knee issues to do yourself a favor and see Dr Peters. He will take good care of you!

Dr Peters texts each day after my hip replacement were extremely helpful in many ways. They were instructive telling me what to expect and the activity I could do at each point in myRecovery. I knew what to expect from the incision as it healed and what to do if there were problems during the healing process. I knew when I could shower and precautions to take as it went through the healing process. I received much encouragement that I could do it and things would get better to just hang in there. I received videos of exercises to help strengthen my hip that were extremely helpful. Was instructed on what to do about narcotic usage and encouraged to taper off and use as little as possible and also how to safely discard unused medications.I am so grateful for these texts each day sometime two and three times a day it was like having your physician right by yourself during a difficult time in your life . I am going to miss my Dr Peters text each day I got so I looked forward to them. Thank you so much for your help and encouragement Dr Peters.

Dr. Peters is fantastic. He is one of the best if not the best Orthopedic Surgeons I have found in the area and came highly recommended by at least a half dozen people I know who have had full knee replacements performed by him. His team is top notch and through all steps of the process I was given ample information to insure great preparation and recovery. Someone was always available to answer my questions. The post surgery support was incredibly helpful with daily text messaging to guide me in my recovery. Most of the time the helpful messages came just as I was ready to call or contact the team, they are very in tune with the whole recovery process. These message also included video clips of Physical Therapy suggestions that were appropriate for good recovery process. Thanks to this great team I am back to my daily routines in just 2 months.

Dr. Peters preformed both of my total hip replacements (2020 and 2021). He is smart, warm, and funny with a top-notch team who are responsive and attentive. Id had six consults with top dysplasia experts throughout the country before choosing Dr. Peters and his team and Im so glad I did. Many thanks to Dr. Peters, Matt, Heather, Andrea, Dr. Swenson, the nurses, and everyone who took such good care of me in Salt Lake. Im seven weeks post op tomorrow with almost full range of motion; comfortably got in a slow three mile hike for Mothers Day and am back to work and an active life. Text book surgery. Had full knee replacements for both knees, couldn’t have gone better. Dr. Peters, his staff, the surgical team and the U of U hospital and Ortopedic center were on their “A” game! I would highly recommend Dr. Peters and his team for anyone who needs a knee replacement. My case was unusual because I had shattered my tibia years ago, but they took the old bands out and put the new knee in without a hitch. I especially enjoyed the physical therapy app with videos and demonstrations of how many and how fast to do each exercise. Knowing they were keeping track of my two times a day therapy made me more apt to do the exercises with consistency. They also had text messages that kept me positive and motivated to do everything I was told to do. They were very helpful if I had questions and let me have a video conference for a checkup instead of having to drive a long distance for the appointment. The team dynamic was awesome from the nurses in the hospital to the post op care, everyone let me know I was a priority. Thank you.

My wife and I both had total knee replacements this COVID summer at University of Utah Orthopaedic Center. We have been very impressed with the entire surgical sequence. From admission on, there were friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand moving us through the system. Both my wife and I have worked many years in clinical & hospital environments and we feel that the U of U hospital clinical systems for preparing us as patients in information, physical preparation, & infection control preparation were superior to any medical setting we have worked in over the years. Both surgeries went smoothly and the pain control process worked very well at minimizing discomfort after surgery. Clear instruction and on call staff made pain management work well after release from the hospital.I did most of my PT directed through a smartphone app in a study ran by U of U and Biomet, the maker of the knee device. It alerted me 3 times a day with exercises including videos on correctly completing them. It worked well, although I missed the feedback from a physical therapist at times and feel that a trained person watching my efforts once a week would have been helpful in reassuring me that I was on the right track. ( after a month I had a couple appointments with a PT person we had worked with before & she was pleasantly surprised at how well I was progressing under the remote program.Dr. Peters send out messages almost daily with bits of helpful advice and information which made the remote PT program seem a bit more personal. The remote follow ups worked well for us, but we are both familiar with computer based systems and our bandwidth at the house is quite good so I’m not sure how typical that is. Having a small tripod that holds the smartphone is very helpful and might be a suggested piece of equipment in the patient documentation.I would have appreciated more written sleep strategies and dose timing suggestions as both of us had varying levels of sleep issues during the 1st month post surgery. We were successful in minimizing use of narcotics for sleep, but clear instructions on optimal dose timing might have helped on some nights. All in all it has been a very successful event for us and we never hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Peters and his wonderful staff to others who are considering joint replacement.

Dr. Peters has performed hip surgeries on both my right and left hips. In both cases the results were excellent and the expertise of Dr. Peters and his staff was exemplary. When I had questions, in both cases, the staff was very responsive. My most recent surgery was July, 2020. And during this COVID time, they improved their involvement in the day to day recovery process by using technology, which included daily text messages reminding me of what I should be experiencing and what to expect. Including, but not limited to, pain management, drug use and eventually physical therapy to improve my recovery. There was a point where I looked forward to the next text that would give me confidence in my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Peters for anyone considering hip surgery.

I have been very pleased with the service and care I received from Dr Peters and his staff. Before surgery I would get a phone call and I was able to get all my questions answered that I had. After surgery I was getting phone calls asking how I was doing. I was able to ask questions and receive answers through MyChart. The text I received everyday was very helpful! Sometimes I would receive two a day. They were encouraging and quite often answered a question I had at that particular time. My husband was very impressed with the attention I received.I would definitely recommend the Orthopedic Center at the U to anyone needing knee replacement.

Comprehensive care from evaluation to months after surgery. I live 4 hours away but felt that the team was available for me constantly. I had excellent pain management (though pain was minimal). I could ask questions and get responses within 30 minutes. I never felt alone in my recovery process. Rehab exercises were at my fingertips via phone or computer. I knew that I could contact Matt Foulks, PT if I had exercise questions. I felt my care was individualized. I had both knees done (each separated by 3 months). My husband had his done 1 month after my second knee. The care for each replacement was exceptional. The text messaging system kept me motivated and in touch with how to take charge of my progress. I highly recommend Dr. Peters and his team. A big shout out to Heather, Jill Erickson, PA-C, Jana in scheduling. These people contributed to this excellence in care. Please note that I also had a hip replacement 11months prior We to my first knee replacement. This was done at another facility closer to my home. Though the care I received was good. None of the care focused beyond the immediate replacement. There was no one to contact if things went wrong. There was no motivational support or rehab support. This is why I can recommend Dr. Peters and his team so highly.

I was referred to University Orthopaedic Center by my Orthopaedic Dr., here in Riverton WY for bilateral hip repacement. My initial visit was being able to talk to the Dr. and come up with a game plan. Initially I was scheduled to do both hips at the same time but later it was determined to do one first and a month later have the other one completed. I was so glad to not have to wake up aching and in pain. For the first time in (5) years I was able to stand and walk with my walker. Slowly but surely following the exercise plan and receiving helpful text messages offering more information not only helped me but encouraged me to keep going. Excellent team members who care about you as a person! I highly recommend this facility. ❤️

I have posted a review about a very negative knee replacement experience with Dr. Peters several years ago, but it disappeared and I see only positive reviews. Something fishy is going on here. I had a terrible experience with my knee replacement by Dr. Peters which I believe I can trace directly to his malpractice regarding medication - blood thinners that were unnecessary and required another surgery ten days after the first one and other overprescription of several other medications. Had another doctor replace the knee that Dr. Peters put in and had a very positive experience. Had I not done that, I believe I would not be alive today.
