I had PRK by Dr. Rubinfeld on March 17, 2021. The reason I had PRK and not LASIK is because my correction was too large for LASIK. PRK also uses lasers but unlike LASIK there is no flap created on the eye. The end results are the same, but recovery is longer and harder than LASIK. Bottom line if you are considering LASIK or PRK with Dr. Rubinfeld, do not wait, schedule a consultation now. This is the best medical experience I have had in my 63 years. The staff, the procedures, bedside manners are all top-notch. Dr. Rubinfeld and his staff performed a miracle on me. I have been extremely nearsighted (8+) since the age of 7. For those of you with a small correction that’s very bad, legally blind. I have been chained to glasses as I said since age 7. My vision is now perfect with no help from anything. I can also read without glasses at age 63 AND see distance crystal clear. This is because I chose mono vision, which isn’t for everyone but I love it. Dr. Rubinfeld put me at ease about every aspect of the procedure. I followed the post-op directions to the letter. Although my eyes are still healing 2 1/2 months out, they are still getting better and better. PRK healing takes somewhat longer than LASIK. This is one of the best, most life-altering decisions I’ve ever made. If you decide to go with vision surgery with Dr. Rubinfeld you will be in good hands. It’s been about three weeks since my LASIK and it’s been life changing! Dr. Rubinfeld, Dr. Kim, and the staff were amazing. The docs had great bed side manner. They made me feel comfortable, truly felt like a no pressure evaluation and procedure. Recovery was minimal. I took one day off after the procedure for the follow up appointment but otherwise I could have gone to work. One of the best investments I ever made. Dr. Rubinfeld did a wonderful job of restoring my vision. Being neither far- nor nearsighted, I was probably legally blind without my glasses; I couldnt have lived on my own without them. Dr. Rubinfeld performed LASIK surgery on me. Three years later, I developed post-LASIK ectasia, a debilitating corneal condition that equates to functional blindness. (Research corneal ectasia if youve never heard of it before.) When I went back to Dr. Rubinfeld for treatment, I was not able to find an effective solution. I only found some hope after I left his practice and learned about large scleral contact lenses, which vault the damaged, thinned, bulging cornea to provide some visual rehabilitation. But I still struggle with severely impaired vision every day of my waking life, and it affects everything I do, even simple tasks like reading and driving and watching TV. There are many horrific LASIK experiences like mine; please do your research. I highly recommend avoiding this unnecessary elective surgery that could destroy your vision and your life.

Very bad experience. Had CK and CXL done here and caused permanent scarring and abrasions on cornea. Scarring baldly placed on top center of cornea and is causing so much difficulty with everyday life and activities. Would not return to this center. Eye sight actually got far worse than before long after procedure and is causing great difficult with everyday life. Regretting very much I got this procedure done here.

Both eyes are ruined due to Rubinfelds $5,500 LASIK procedure. Need cornea transplants on both eyes. Can hardly see computer and cannot drive at night. Glasses will not correct this problem. It was good for about 25 years then went south. Id think about this if I were you..

Before I met with Dr. Rubinfeld, I was pretty much resigned to the fact that I would have terrible vision and probably go blind due to my severe Keratoconus. When I met with Dr. Rubinfeld, he told me that he could not only stop the progression, but make my vision better, which shocked and excited me. I was really nervous, but he answered all my questions and I felt reassured that he would take care of my eyes.Day of surgery he and his staff told me exactly what to expect. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING LASIK YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!My daughter has had terrible vision since middle school (now 25 yrs old). She could barely read the E alone on the chart. I suggested we would look into Lasik after college. We went to a doctor in Tysons VA who spent a total of 3 minutes with her. The vision exam and measurements were performed by very very young staff. Her measurements came back pointing to Keratoconus (cornea disease that causes thinning of the cornea) - they suggested she stay out of contacts and come back in 3 months - we were herded in and out with our minds spinning - Our 2nd appt. the measurements appeared worse than the 1st. The assistant appeared to be fumbling with the instrument. That doctor again spent about 3 minutes describing a cornea disease and talked about Corneal cross-linking (CXL) or possible Cornea transplant! At this point measurements by very young staff and 3 minutes of a doctor describing incredibly serious diagnosis set her and I both into a panic. I am perplexed that this doctor would not have overseen these tests/measurements himself to verify.My son was injured at birth resulting in many many Johns Hopkins level specialists and surgeries - I reached out to one of them for a referral. We were referred to Dr. Bella Patnaik and Dr. Roy Rubinfeld. Exams and measurements were re-done and were normal on the 1st visit. We scheduled a 2nd follow up and AGAIN the tests and measurements were NORMAL!We walked into Dr. Rubinfelds office extremely worried and concerned. Our initial appointment he spent over 45 minutes with us, thoroughly explaining the inaccurate diagnosis as well as collaborating with a coleege while we were there. Dr. Rubinfeld and his staff were very professional and made the experience very easy. They were always willing to answer any questions. I got LASIK done back in March of 16, and recently brought my wife there and both experiences went great! I highly recommend him to anyone!!I never would have thought I would have seen 20/20 without prescription eyewear, especially after visiting one of those highly commercialized laser centers and being told Im not a candidate for LASIK. I went to Dr. Rubinfeld and he and his staff looked at my records and didnt have any issues with me being a candidate. Being treated by Dr. Rubinfeld and his team at Re:Vision was a fantastic experience. I was diagnosed with keratoconus about 4 years ago and have been monitored by my ophthalmologist for the past few years, unfortunately LASIK is not an option and there are few fixes for my condition. After being told by my doctor last year about everything from hard back contact lenses, corneal transplants and collagen cross-linking (CXL), I had options, but very expensive ones (that of course insurance did not cover). Finally after going back to see my primary ophthalmologist in November 2015, I finally decided to go for CXL and was recommended to see Dr. Rubinfeld. After doing some homework and seeing his level of expertise via patient reviews, medical journals, etc, I decided to contact him. I had an initial consult in December 2015, Dr. Rubinfeld said I was a good candidate for CXL and for another procedure called conductive keroplasty (CK) for my right eye. My procedures were set back-to-back in early March. Both days for my procedures I was confident in the choice I made and the follow up was a breeze. I do recommend anyone seeking out treatment for keratoconus that recovering from CK and CXL is a marathon and results might not be as apparent as people who get LASIK to correct vision impairments, but Dr. Rubinfeld and his team will make you realize your choice is clear (pun intended).
