Updated review after first review!Over processed my highlights and now my hair is breaking off. I did mention that my hair accepts color quickly. Everyone was very nice.UPDATE: they did contact me and put a treatment on to tone down the contrast…I had already paid for a protein treatment but they did offer that as well. This was a much better experience.

I would have to say this is definitely a 5⭐ Salon! I had a horrible experience at another salon I wont name names. I called Tangerine Salon and asked to be placed with their best color specialist. The reason why I call this particular Salon is I looked up their reviews saw what people wrote and I read nothing but fabulous things about the shop. the name that kept popping up was the lady by the name of Jeannie, who was also recommend by 2 other stylist I know. let me start off by telling you she knew every question to ask she knew every problem to solve and when it came to my hair she took the best care. Due to extreme damage to my hair from my previous salon visit she took that in to consideration and took very good care of the blonde in my hair. Not only did she pamper me at the shampoo bowl gaving me a hot steaming towel and a deep conditioning treatment. I completely hit it off In a great conversation with her the whole time and she treated me like a true friend. I cant tell you how beautiful I feel now with my hair fixed and corrected. I cried at how beautiful my hair looked when I got in the car after my appt with her. If you need a new stylist that knows her stuff you MUST MUST MUST book with this badASS stylist!! Emily is an amazing stylist. My color and cut look amazing every time I go. I have severe allergies to some ingredients in hair care products and Emily is very diligent in ensuring that the products she uses are safe for me. Im so blessed I found her when we moved to Reno.

Unable to make appointment due to being called away out of state for work business. Had to pay for the visit treatment I was scheduled for even though I wasnt able to attend for any fault of my own. Wont be coming back after Asian woman was very rude on phone. Lots of other places in the same business I can go to for same treatment next time. Niceness doesnt cost a thing.

Finally found a stylist and salon I enjoy being at that provides experienced & well trained personnel. I highly recommend this salon for all your needs. You wont be disappointed!!!

Colby always does a spectacular job!From color to cut, he is on top of the game. My hair always looks better than I had envisioned after sitting in his chair and trusting the process. I always receive complements after visiting him and feel fresh and beautiful. His kindhearted personality and great conversation is the icing on the cake!The salon is really on top of cleanliness during these times as well, and is very chic yet comfortable.10/10 would recommend time and again!

For myself I made an appointment because they were one of the few places in town that worked late and I could go to after I got off work. When I got there I had to fill out a questionnaire (great by the way!) and turn it in. One of the questions was about allergies. As a person who has a lot of allergies it is a struggle to find products to use. While my stylist, Jessica, was finishing up with her previous client Colby started working with me to find a product that I could use. As soon as Jessica was done she came over and started helping as well. It was at this moment that I knew that this salon was going to be where I would be going from now on. I had never had someone take this kind of care before.The washing and massage were amazing. Jessica did a great job at listening to what I wanted and making it happen based off a picture. Plus she got rid of severely damaged and over dyed ends without cutting off all my hair! She kept conversation the whole time and didn’t make it feel at all awkward. A definite five star from me!When it came time for my daughter to get her hair done she tried to wait for her normal stylist because she loves to support family and those close to her but she wasn’t getting an answer and needed her hair done before her biggest cheer competition of the year so she asked me to book with Jessica because my hair looked so good. When she went in she went through the same process and they made sure that she did not have the same allergies. She came out saying she loved how she was treated and how she was listened to. Her words “I think I found my new hair girl”!

Emily does a great job and is an expert at color. She matched my old favorite color perfectly. She is a precision hair stylist/ cutter too. I have thick hair, collicks, an under cut, and my hair needs thinning almost every cut. I’m really happy with Emily!

This is a very upscale salon and the customer service is amazing from the moment you step inside the door. Jessica was my stylist. I had a wonder shampoo/scalp massage and then I received the best haircut I’ve had since I’ve moved herein 2012! Their prices are very reasonable.

Amanda was friendly and very good. The facility was clean and all I talked with were great. I will return.

I went into Tangerine for a transformational haircut to remove old, unwanted, colored hair. Moving from mid length to pixie cut for thin hair was not an easy choice. Amanda was patient, took the time to feel my hair texture etc, and provided multiple options before we settled on the final transformational decision. Thank you! Love love LOVE the look, and not as expensive as I assumed going into the store.

Not exactly what I had showed her I wanted but it turned out better than I could have ever wanted. She is very friendly and made me feel so very comfortable. Renee very competently rescued me from a very bad cut and color and over processed hair. The salon is pleasant and Renee accommodated my neck issues with a most comfortable wash. Im moving so she referred me to a colleague in Vegas. My 3 appointments with Renee were great and I highly recommend her and Tangerine Aveda.

Sam is the best! I seriously love coming in for my monthly haircuts and chatting it up him. I always walk out feeling amazing and looking my best! Also, I did read other reviews that said scheduling is “gangster” and I just laughed! Everyone in this building is so incredibly sweet and accommodating and never in 2 years have I even seen any of their staff treat anyone disrespectfully in any way and honestly, I always see them treat everyone like loving family. Trust me, I’ve been to many salons in my life and Tangerine is the best in every way!

She listens carefully, makes great suggestions when I want a change, and I trust her completely when it comes to my hair. Jen Rushton is extremely talented! I’ve been to her for color, smoothing treatment, and a cut now, and I’ve been 100% happy with all three. She was the first person I found in Reno to help me with my hair and I’m so thrilled I didn’t have to go through many different stylists before finding the right one!

Higher end services. Results are great, if they keep scheduled appt times. Frequent cancellations and inability to reschedule is very frustrating. Ive noticed in their policy that if you cancel day of service, cost of appointment is still due. However, they can cancel day of service, with no empathy or reimbursement to your loss of time/loss of service. I expect more from a high end salon.Edit: the majority of my cancelled appointments have occurred prior to COVID. Although I do appreciate health concerns, this seems to be a pattern established long before testing and state issued safety measures. Excuses dont replace customer service.

I was so thankful to get an appointment after COVID-19 has thrown our world upside down. The entire staff worked hard to ensure that all safety precautions were met in addition to giving me a beautiful haircut and gorgeous highlights.

I was concerned about getting a hair cut in this C-19 era, but the sanitation lengths that the salon and the stylist took left me completely at ease.

Customer service is awesome! My wife gets her hair done there and Im sure her review of their services would be better but from a customer service standpoint theyre excellent. Theyre very friendly and have a great waiting area which had some nice amenities: coffee, tea, water, goldfish, and a little chest full of kids books. I had to wait for about an hour with my 3 year old daughter and she was pleasantly occupied with the books and her belly was kept happy with those little goldfish!

Jen was very professional and talented. The salon was run very well and was clean. I enjoyed a great scalp and hand message during the visit plus a wonderful scent was added to my hair at the end. I love this place. I can only afford to come here once a year as it is a little pricey but its a great treat.

I went to Tangerine (an Aveda spa) as part of my search for a day-of hair & makeup place. Everyone was super-nice, and in 20 minutes, I knew that Id found my hair place. But, almost an hour later, I knew that I hadnt found my make-up place. The dewy-shimmer look doesnt work well on anyone over 25, especially not for wedding photos. This would be minus a star, but...I also arranged to have the rest of the wedding party get their hair done the day of. They opened two hours early for us, had some snacks (mini-muffins!) and beverages ready for us, and got everyone looking picture-perfect. And, when one of the bridesmaids bailed 15 minutes before the appointment, my brother (a groomsman) took her place. Tangerine took the change in-stride, gave him a haircut (made mom happy), and used just the right amount and type of product so that his hair didnt look like it had product. As far as my hair, Jessie did an outstanding job with my up-do, and during the big day, my hair stayed impeccable, natural looking, and in place for 16 hours (it was a long day)... even with the veil attached for six hours. And, with the fine hair that I have, this is no easy thing.

Wonderful experience and love my new cut from Justice! The appointment started off with a nice, relaxing head, neck and shoulder massage followed by shampoo, conditioning and a hand massage. To top it all off, Justice did a fantastic job transforming my long heavy hair into a super cute razor cut bob. Will definitely be back!!!

I have been with Tangerine Aveda for several years now and I love it. Rene is the best hairdresser I have found. She has talked me out of my dark hair color and is turning me into a blond. I have to say I am impressed. She works with me one on one and talks me through every step of the process. The hair products are wonderful as well as the massage you get with each visit. It is more expensive but well worth it. You never leave feeling like you have to re-style your hair as soon as you get home. The atmosphere is soothing and the staff are all very polite and welcoming. I have recommended them to several of my friends.

Arasely, my stylist, is super personable, smart, interesting, and has transformed my hair. The atmosphere is pleasant and professional. I highly recommend this spot.

This is, by far the best experience Ive encountered at a salon. Cassandra really listens and her guidance is spot on! I love my color and I have curly hair and found it challenging to find someone to provide the proper cut. If you have any hesitation or anxiety...rest assured they will take excellent care of you!

Honestly one of the worst salons out there Id rather go to a beauty school they do a better job. Went multiple times for color but they just cant seem to get it right. I had light Virgin hair so it shouldnt have been that hard. The owner was so rude, I paid 150 for something I didnt ask for. Thank you but no thank you honestly at this point Id rather use a box then ever step foot in that salon again. DONT EVEN BOTHER.

Wow! Tangerine is terrific! While visiting Reno two weeks ago, I decided to have my hair cut. I went from below the shoulder length hair to a very precise chin length bob. Everyone at the salon was very friendly and welcoming. They asked if I would like some water, tea, or wine when I first arrived. Very nice. Jessie was my stylist. She is EXCELLENT!!!!! She gave me the best haircut Ive ever received. Her head massage was awesome as well. Jessie is a very talented stylist. I just wish I lived closer so I could have her cut my hair when it needs shaping again. I was very happy with the haircut and style. I also love the Aveda conditioner and styling products I bought.

Once again, lovely experience. I walked in and was offered a glass of wine. Only had to wait a couple of minutes. And, then Justice took amazing care of me...hes the best! I have thick, wavy, frizzy, curly-ish hair and Justice knows just how to layer my hair so that its a bit thinned out and manageable to style. My hair lays so nicely. And, my color is always natural looking and complements the tone of my skin. Justice always chooses the perfect lowlights and highlights. Thanks, Justice...youre the best!

Elkie was amazing and made the experience that much better. Quality hair products and quality stylists. I felt like a princess during the entire treatment. I went for a color correction and loved the results. The hand massage you get while your hair is washed was a nice surprise as was the head massage while rising out my color. I would highly recommend them for hair color and care.

Jeanie, the girl who did my hair, did a wonderful job, and helped me donate it while also looking decent. I go back to them, and they have kind services and a clean looking place, however it was odd when Jeanie complimented me, and then called herself ugly.She’s a beautiful woman, don’t get me wrong, but it just doesn’t come off as professional, and it bothered and made me uncomfortable somewhat.

This is one of the few places in Reno that has good facials for men. The spa was very neat and the service was great. I was offered a choice of drinks and snacks while I waited for my appointment. The spa room was very neat and comfortable. Overall a great experience. Will surely go again.

Tangerine is great! I see Kristy and she always does a beautiful job on my hair color and cut. Terra has shaped my brows a few times and they always look fantastic, and I have crazy thick brows. The salon is relaxing and earthy. Only one star shy of 5 due to a sometimes surly receptionist. Everyone else is stellar!

Worst two hundred bucks ever spent. Went in to get tips bleached to add colour, and my already blonde tips came out darker than when I went in. Then I was so embarrassed with how it looked I called back the next day asking when they could fix it. They said they would call me back. Called back a week later saying to come back in a month and it would be another two hundred to get the look they promised the first time... The lady that did my hair had a great attitude, but was the worst experience I have ever had on an end result. Especially when they charged me to darken my hair when it was the complete opposite of what I went for. I wish this place the best, but still very upset with the outcome.

Nicki Deville, She is a wonderful esthetician. I have been going to her for years now, she does my eyebrow wax perfectly. She is experienced, informative and make you very comfortable. The most important thing I want to mention is her attitude, she is the best. Over the years I got to know her and she always goes above and beyond for her clients. I never had any issues with her and if something ever happened she resolved it so that never turned in to a big problem. Some people when they get so many clients their customer service goes down, thats never the case with her. It is good to know some people that actually care about their clients these days.

STAY AWAY. !!!!!!!!! I do not recommend this Tangerine salon spa, the owner is extremely rude, and be careful if you do not show for your appointment they charge you anyway, the amount that you book the appointment for. This is the reason they ask for your credit card when you make the appointment. This may be the Tangerine spa policy but when I made my appointment in 2014 no one explained this to me. Fast forward a couple years I attempt to book an appointment for Dec. 28th and the owner leaves a message on my phone saying that I am not allowed to come back to this salon because I refused to pay the ridiculous amount they wanted to initially charge me for not being able to show up for my appointment in 2014.

Facials are AMAZING!!!!

I see Cassie every couple months for a hair cut and style. She is always friendly and willing to try out new styles on my hair. Everyone at the salon is friendly and professional.
