Dr. James is an informative, calming, direct, and concise physician. I have been her patient for 10 years and I have been very satisfied with her care. I like that I can contact her via the Patient Portal, and that she responds to my message in a reasonable amount of time. My interactions with staff, in-person and over the phone, have also been fantastic. I also really appreciate the short wait time at the office, especially during the pandemic. In the past 10 years, I recall only one visit that I had to wait longer than 10 minutes.

I have been a patient with Raleigh Adult medicine for years now and have always been happy with them. Last year Shaye Polk PA-C and her nurse Megan noticed I had tipped the scales at 285 and was dangerously close to 300 pounds. She recommended Saxenda along with diet and exercise to help me lose the weight. Im happy to report that one year later I am now 210 pounds and have been able to keep the weight off. Thank you Shaye and Megan for saving my life.

Dr. Chaksupa has always been very kind, professional, explained test results so I could understand them, is very thorough in assessing my situation and making a plan to take care of it. Dr. Chaksupa is always prepared. He knows my medical history and current test results, etc. He responds quickly through my patient portal to any question or concern I have sent him. The nurses, office staff, billing staff, checkout staff and those who answer the phone have always been very pleasant and professional.

Dr. Myatt is everything I admire in a physician. Knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and respectful of my opinions and preferences but firm and clear about any issues with my situation. Her excellent analysis, diagnosis, and treatment plans, as well as communication skills, are very reassuring. Thank you, Dr. Myatt. I also commend the entire staff for courteous and professional service. The PA is extraordinary.

I have been going to Raleigh Adult Medicine for years, ever since the practice began and my Dr was Ned Yellig. When Dr Yellig was about to retire, he told me his replacement would be Dr Mary Jones, and that the group had looked long and hard for a good replacement. She has definitely proven to be so. I am grateful to her for her patience, her expertise, and her attention to my health.

Dr.Michael Rees is such an awesome physician! Hes a topnotch person and obviously one of the few physicians I trust with my life. When I moved out of the area for a few years, I still flew back to see him for my check ups. I trust Dr. Rees so much, I referred my brother to him when he was not feeling well. I credit Dr. Rees for finding his problem on the first visit and saving his life.

I have never had any provider ask me so many questions and try to get to know me and more about my health history. I am in the healthcare field and know what it is like to be on a busy schedule so,it means so much when someone takes the time to listen and ask questions and you do not feel rushed.

Called to ask a question about medicine because it’s not the industry I work in. I was greeted with absolutely no help and no guidance from the lady on the phone. I even asked where I can go or who I could speak with to find the info I’m looking for and she said she will not help me. I do not recommend contacting this location based purely off of this unprofessional interaction.

Dr. Masavarapu is wonderful! She is very empathetic and personable and remembers me as well as my health issues and history with her every time I see her. I usually do not like to go to doctors because I feel that most just shove a prescription on you and force you on your way as quick as possible. Dr. M knows that I dont like to spend a lot of money and knows that I prefer not to take medications, especially if they are unnecessary. While she will mention options, she understands and does not push prescriptions when I decline.

So i decided to come to Raleigh Adult medicine because my father is a patient here and spoke highly of Dr.Rees.Well, i started going in 2017 for my yearly physical. I had gained weight and spoke with him during my physical about my weight gain and he agreed I needed to loose some weight.Fast forward this year for my yearly physical i came in and was the same weight. So, we spoke again about me losing weight and trying different methods to make this happen even spoke of some diet pills. Well, two weeks later i get a bill for $65, because i was charged for my yearly physical which my employer pays at 100% and then another charge for an inpatient visit. I called the billing department and asked why, she checked with Dr.Rees and he said “i was being charged for an office vist because we talked about weight loss more in depth this year”. Now, i have been getting physicals for years at other offices and never been charged for a second visit because we talked about weight loss. This is ridiculous, so i asked the billing department to please reach out to the doctor to see if this could be resolved. Well, to no avail. So i told the billing department if i had known upfront that this visit is strictly for annual physical and nothing more than i would at least knownto keep my mouth shut about weight loss. Kinda like getting a cell phone bill that you were charged more, than you were told was gonna be charged to your account.Again, i told the lady if $65 is worth you losing a patient for life and potentially more patients, because i wasn’t informed during my visit that i was going to be charged an office vist, in what i thought was an annual physical shame on Raleigh Adult Medicine, BEWARE!!!

This doctors office is a joke. Not only are they technologically behind and cant fax over prescriptions to pharmacies - they continue to write me the WRONG prescriptions. Its a huge inconvenience because I leave work to come pick up my script from their office and my pharmacy always points out that they yet again wrote me the wrong prescription. Pretty serious considering these are peoples medications that they need on a daily basis. The front staff is rude and unhelpful. I wont be returning.

I never write reviews but Im so upset by how I was just treated at Raleigh Adult Medicine that I had to share. Ive seen Dr. James once in the past and she was great. This past Monday I called the office for an issue I felt may need to be addressed quickly due to family history and the issue itself. The nurse on call thought it was very important I come in as soon as possible and even said she would get me in that day if I could come in. It was my first week at a new job so I told her the appointment would have to wait until Friday. She scheduled an appointment for Friday with the PA for me. Before we got off the phone she told me that if she issue continued go to Urgent Care after work-- thats how serious she thought it was. Fortunately I was okay until my appointment today. I took the time to check in online and then headed to the office. When I got there an elderly woman up front told me matter-of-factly that my appointment had be cancelled. I was confused since I didnt get a call and was still asked to check in online. She said well the PA isnt here and theres no other openings then asked me to go around to check-out, Im assuming so a scene wasnt made in front of the waiting room. When I went around to check out the woman asked me out-loud, in front of another patient what I had the appointment for. This to me was totally INAPPROPRIATE-- she should be able to go into my appointment and see what it was for or she should have considered that it may not be something I wanted to discuss in front of other people. I told her what it was for and also said it was an emergency appointment. She said she couldnt find any opening then went in the back and got another woman who may have been the office manager, that woman came out and asked AGAIN, ALOUD what I needed the appointment for. I mean, wouldnt you think if you had any tact or empathy at all and you had been the first woman you would have discretely told your boss the nature of the visit? Both woman had a complete lack of discretion and awareness for what their patients are dealing with. That office manager looked through the schedule and couldnt find anything and then said she was sorry that they hadnt called me and I could go to their sister office in Cary or they could get me in Monday. I was so frustrated and turned off with the whole practice at that point that I said would call them back. She told me they double check their bookings so it shouldnt have happened and Im thinking someone must be completely irresponsible if youre double checking your appointments and youre still cancelling peoples appointments without calling them? I felt like she was apologizing that they didnt call me when they cancelled my appointment but what about the fact that they cancelled my appointment that their nurse thought was worrisome enough that she asked me to come in the same day for?I know my family members really like Dr. James so Im not leaving this review as a reflection of her work at all. However, the front desk staff needs a lesson is customer care and empathy. From the elderly woman out front who didnt event apologize for my appointment being cancelled and just threw me into someone else to the two women in the back asking aloud in front of others what my appointment was for, the whole experience was ridiculous.I called Duke as soon as I got home and now I have an appointment next week with them. I wont be going back to Raleigh Adult Medicine-- although I doubt they care.

Horrible customer service! Very upset today! I have been a patient here for several years and am usually happy. They have had turnover at the front desk and staff changes. I called for appt because I think I have a sinus infection and they said I could have a 4:15 spot. Traffic normally takes me 30 min - so I left home at 3:30 to have plenty of time, really bad traffic today took almost an hour -- when I arrived front desk staff person said they could not see me it was 4:29 - what happened to patient care - my head is splitting and it is not my fault traffic was horrible. Waiting room was empty and it was 4:29. Front desk lady is normally a very sweet lady - today the girl was unhelpful and said they lose a lot patients this way -- well, I guess so!

I mean terrible, just terrible. Patient service is terrible. I will NEVER go back here. I talked to the same patient representative, Wanda, 3 times and each time she was unpleasant, however the third time she was beyond any type of rude I can explain, as well as snarky and belittling. Not only was she less than a pleasure today but the insurance department refused to pull up my benefits online and honor what my coverage had updated in the system! It is January and my coverage changed and I have yet to receive a card. Even my insurance agency was shocked after speaking with them directly.

The customer service here is very poor . I scheduleded an appoitment for my wife here. We were given conflicting information on when to arrive as new patients. Someone told us on the phone 30minutes before and then we received an email afterward stating 15minutes before. We arrived 15minutes before per the email. We were immediately given a hard time at the front desk upon arrival saying that we were late and it was our fault. We were then rushed by the front desk to complete the paper work threatening that we may not be accepted today. Once accepted in we were reminded by the nurse of our tardiness even though it was only 9 mins after the scheduled appointment time. They then performed the preliminary measurements with little to no concern or gentleness.Later that week i called to reschedule my own personal appointment and was told that I have only one cancellation left as a new patient. After that I would be kicked out of their contact list. I later called back to cancel my appointment all together as I realized I didnt want to settle to be treated in that manner. As a paying client I expect to be treated with respect and kindness. I dont want to feel inferior or as just another number ,. It should be a partnership with the client. and the clients health and experience should be the up most concern for the staff .To be fair in my review . The Physical assistant that my wife saw was very sweet, professional, helpful and pleasant. But the supporting staff/front desk needs to get better at treating potential new customers better. I dont believe they are bad people but they are lacking training. I felt embarrassed that my wife had to deal with this. I personally will not be returning and will find a place better suited for my healthcare needs. Best wishes to your practice and I hope the necessary changes will be made as I have seen many other similar reviews about the customer service here.
