Dr. Sarah Kate Fisher is an audiologist, not a hearing aid sales person. Dr Fisher’s recommendations are based on advanced training and state of the art hearing tests. I have been a patient of record since 2015 and have always felt well informed and cared about by Dr. Fisher and Dawn Geda. I have known Bob Keefer, the Owner of Now Hear This, for over 17 years. After meeting at what was then Raleigh Athletic Club, we became best friends over the years simply because we share the precept that you always treat people the same way that you expect to be treated. Bob and I have coached each other on both business and private matters with this precept always holding true. I visited “Now Hear This” a short time ago, it was abundantly clear to me that this guiding principal was used in developing the business model. As good as it gets! Since finding and using Now Hear This the past few years, the team has been great at diagnosing needs, helping repair broken equipment, providing advice and adjustments. Recently I broke an aid while out of state. Dawn and Dr, Fisher ordered a new part, had it in and made time to repair it for me as soon as I returned to town, despite them having a crowded schedule. They are heads and shoulders above the others with whom Ive worked.

I have been wearing hearing aids for over ten years. During this time I have visited audiologists in Florida and North Carolina for hearing tests and repair of my hearing aids. I have tried different hearing aids to see if my hearing could be improved.I feel that the technology advancements for hearing aids have improved but more importantly the fitting of the hearing aids has also dramatically increased.This is where “Now Hear This”, an audiology and hearing clinic right here in Raleigh comes into play. I first visited this clinic in June of 2012 for initial tests and evaluation. The tests were much more in depth than I had ever experienced with other audiologists. Dr. Philip Griffin was testing my hearing with new technology and explaining what the results were.I was fitted with two hearing aids and have had follow up evaluations and adjustments for my hearing. I have been very impressed with Dr. Griffin in answering all of my questions and giving me the best possible results for my hearing impairment. I have had my hearing aids for a year now & despite some unsuccessful tries of hearing aids at other Audiology offices, I have been completely satisfied with these hearing aids from day one. After my mother had a mediocre experience at one of the hearing aid chains that does a lot of national advertising, I researched other options in the Raleigh area for hearing aids. My research led me to Now Hear This Clinic. I can not say enough accolades about the awesome service from Dr. Griffin and Dawn. Plus, very much appreciate, the clinic approach to up front pricing and no hidden fees. Their follow-up with my mother has been exceptional. Without a doubt, I would give the clinic a 5 Star rating. I went for an in-depth Hearing test and it was very comprehensive and Dr.Griffin and summer intern/UNC student assisting him explained everything very well yet easy to understand. Office is pleasant and conveniently located and there was no pressure to buy hearing aids. Office Manager Dawn was very helpful as well. A good experience and if I decide to try the hearing aids I will definitely go back there and I also highly recommend it to others with hearing concerns in the Raleigh area.

My first experience with Now Hear This began with a phone call desperately needing an appointment to replace my lost hearing aids. I have tinnitus...constant ringing in my ears. Dawn graciously sweezed me into their extremely busy schedule. I met Dr Fisher during the appointment for a hearing exam. After the exam Dr Fisher set up a pair of loaner hearing aids, explained everything to me and suggested I call the veterans administration for assistance. The appointment with the VA Medical Center resulted in another hearing exam and brand new hearing aids. Dr Fisher actually forfeited a sale of more than $6,000 just to help me. UPDATE: During the initial two weeks of wearing my new hearing aids, I kept notes of sounds I had trouble hearing, of sounds that were too loud and even those that seemed weird. I then met with Dr. Centafont. I must say, she truly displayed wizardry in expertly tuning my new hearing aids! My husband and I were very impressed with her knowledge of the tuning system at Now Hear This and her knowledge of hearing aids, but also with her determination to make sure I had the best possible outcome. Although I am able to adjust my hearing aids with my phone, I haven’t had the need since she worked her magic. The team at NHT also includes Dawn, the absolute best Practice Manager/Patient Coordinator I have ever encountered in that she is there to help her patients in whatever way is necessary. After much research to find an appropriate hearing aid provider, I landed at Dr. Griffins office. I could not be more pleased. He is extremely competent, easy to talk with, and very patient answering my questions. I procrastinated for years getting hearing aids but after a family intervention, I was compelled to do so. I first met Bob Keefer in a professional capacity as my firm, iS design, was hired by Now Hear This to provide design services for their first location in Raleigh, NC. His desire was to create an environment that people would feel comfortable in rather than a typical medical office. In the midst of our conversations, I became interested in the methodology and equipment that Bob was instrumental in bringing to the United States from Germany. It all became pertinent soon afterward when my 85 year old father-in-law began to experience poor results from his current hearing aids. I suggested that he had nothing to lose by letting Now Hear This apply their new fitting techniques to his situation to see if it may help him. I got digital hearing aids when they first came on the market about 5 years ago but could no longer get service for them because the clinic went out of business and I knew the technology had improved so it was time to update. And I heard that the new iPhone 6 would be engineered to connect via bluetooth with ones hearing aids so that one could hear phone conversations in both ears. I always have had difficulty hearing on my cell phone plus hearing conversations in noisy surroundings and clients when they spoke softly. Then I heard about Now Hear This and decided to check them out and see if they had the hearing aids that would connect with my cell phone I had ordered. I was so impressed with the whole staff. I had no idea that UNC offered a doctorate in audiology and that an audiological evaluation could be so thorough. Once I was evaluated by Dr. Philip Griffin and his interns, recommendations of hearing aids were shown to me so that I could choose the level of hearing assistance according to my lifestyle. I purchased my new hearing aids and when my new iPhone 6 arrived, we connected it to my hearing aids. Amazing! I have never heard so clearly. I highly recommend!

My involvement with Now Hear This (NHT) started in approximately May 2015. Before then I had sought help from a different hearing aid firm, and found the results so incredibly disappointing that I nearly gave up.The first audiologist came up with the same audiology diagnosis as NHT, but was in left field as to how to improve my situation. They (1) prescribed the wrong kind of aid, and (2) completely botched the tuning of the devices. The upshot is that my hearing was worse with their recommended aid and associated tuning than it was without them. Looking back on it, I should have been concerned that the person working with me was not a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.), and that they proved so quickly to be inept when it came to tuning.After refusing to give up I found NHT, and immediately found comfort and confidence in Dr. Griffin and Patient Care Coordinator, Dawn. This team took considerable time with me to validate my diagnosis, and to explain my options relative to devices.I was able to demo two makes of hearing aids, and found the difference amazing. One was harsh, the other smooth and natural. This disappointed and surprised me: the harsh-sounding make was the one I thought I needed given its ability to sync with my iPhone so I could control some of its functions as easily as checking email. The demo saved me from wasting money on a pair of devices that I never would have known were falling short from what was possible.The devices I ended up getting are comfortable and amazingly adaptable. I have found that tuning is as important as the device itself, and Dr. Griffin has proven to be a master at tuning.I have seen Dr. Griffin several times, and each visit has yielded improvement in the effectiveness of the devices. It takes time to acclimate to wearing hearing aids, so the process of tuning is best done incrementally instead of with brute force at the outset.I cannot say enough good things about this team: professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, patient-focused, flexible, and effective!You can go elsewhere, but I cannot imagine finding a better team to work with. I wish there were more stars to award them because they are certainly justified! Awesome!!

I have explored many of the options in the Triangle area to test and address my hearing loss and have found Now Hear This to be my best experience. The ENT practices treated me impersonally and had limited solutions. Other audiology practices were somewhat clinical and did not seem to be current. Unlike those options, Now Hear This treated me in a very personal and caring manner. They offered me several options and were very clear about the pros and cons of each option. I continue to return for follow-up visits and each time it is clear my satisfaction is their primary concern. I have no reservations in giving Now Hear This my highest recommendation.

This is the 2nd purchase of hearing aids Ive made with Now Hear This; the 1st set lasted about 7 years, which is great. As technology has enhanced and my hearing had changed. I went in recently and was very impressed how the office was handled during COVID-19. Masks as well as a screening questionnaire and temperature check are required. Hand sanitizer is at the entrance. The staff wears mask and at times masks plus a face shield. There is only one patient allowed in the office at any one time. The office is spotless.With my new set, I was having a minor issue with whistling. Dr. Centafont had given it a lot of thought as what the issue might be and came up with a solution. I went in today and within 15 minutes the issue was resolved. The whistling is gone and I can clearly hear face-to-face conversations, phone calls and music. To say I am happy is putting it mildly. Dawn Geda, the Practice Manager, is so easy to work with. When calling for an appointment, she works around your schedule and if you have any questions whatsoever, if she cant answer them, she makes sure to direct you to the proper person. I highly recommend them. After dealing Now Hear This for 7 years, I can unequivocally say that I would recommend this group without reservation.
