Everyone here is amazing. I take both my dog and cat here and every time I leave so happy and SO DO MY PETS! They are amazing and so kind! Even my cat responds so well to the vet and the techs. I appreciate how loving they are and they offer their expertise with ZERO judgment every time! I recommend this spot to everyone, especially when I know they love their pets as much as I do.

We recently switched vets to CPH since its so close to home. Although it was a few weeks to get our first appointment, I was so impressed with the thorough intake process. We documented some of our dogs triggers when it comes to going to the vet, and all of that was taken into account for his first visit. Our tech, Stacy was WONDERFUL. Our dog is very anxious and scared of strangers which was noted and Stacy handled him perfectly. He didnt bark once with her in the room! We had a number of concerns and questions regarding some recent health issues, and Stacy along with Dr. Ariana Shakory were so so helpful. They answered all of my questions and treated our pup with so much love and care. That night at 10 pm, I received a recap email of everything we talked about written by Dr. shakory which was so unexpected and appreciated. A week later we received an email asking how our dog was doing and if there were any questions or concerns. Overall its very apparent how much this place cares about their clients. I am just so thrilled to have it nearby!

While there are a couple good staff members, this is a very poorly run clinic. Taking your pet here is putting them at risk of being exposed to low quality and uncaring medicine. There is no doubt in my mind that they repeatedly missed or gave the wrong diagnosis/care advice for our dog that lead to his health severely declining. The front staff are impatient and often downright rude. There are definitely a couple good doctors who know what they are doing, but they are so busy, it is far more likely that the medicine will be rushed and overpriced.NEVER take your pet in for lab work. The lab was clearly struggling to produce accurate results and I very much wonder if they have ever been audited or looked at. Even coordinating the lab testing was a painful and manual process.

Ive had a long relationship with this practice, and have never been let down. From my older three dogs and three cats, to multiple foster dogs, and even a bunny I rescued on a sub-freezing winter day (whose owners still bring him there) I have consistently received excellent care from the vets. My newest pup was neutered there and the process, his treatment and recovery all exceeded my expectations.

I have a compromised immune system and also out of work. They were very inexpensive compared to others and had an appointment the day after I called. They had a safe curb side pickup and were done with my guy in quick time. I wanna thank all the workers here it means so much to me. Thank you

Whenever something happens to our pets, we always worry and scared. Because we don’t know what’s happened? What we can do? .... when we went to this hospital for checking out new rescue cat , we happy because we knew that our cat in the good hands. I can see how fast the staffs who work at font desk. How sweet and careful all those nurses and how friendly, helpful and professional the doctor. That why help us a lot that not too much worry or break down whatever happened to our pets. I saw a lot of regular clients here who take them pets back here to checking up every year. So I think this the place I will go to for my pets.

Ive been taking my dog to Companion since I took him home from the shelter for everything from grooming to annual exams, to dental surgery. Every single experience from start to finish with Companion has been exceptional. Their staff is very helpful, compassionate and incredibly professional. Companion is also very reasonable in regard to cost/prices. I have recommended Companion to everyone I know who has a pet they love. I cannot say enough good things about them!Thank you Companion Pet Hospital for all you do for this community!

I was just made to pay for a full check up visit after (by their own admission) I was made to wait for an unreasonably long time in the check up room, with no services rendered. They were not able to do a check up because my cat got more frightened the longer we were there (again, by their own admission, they made us wait for a very long time) but you better believe I still had to pay for their error. Additionally, when I said something about this, I was treated coldly and rudely, and told that maybe I should go to one of the cheap vets. It was hard enough to watch my cat be treated poorly, but to feel so dehumanized myself was really horrible.

I love this pet provider for my dog. The Doctors are wonderful and so are all of the techs. They have always treated my dog great and my dog loves them. But the 1 star is for the groomer. I took my dog to be groomed and before the grooming I was advised that I should give my dog something prescribed by the vet to calm him down. My dog is only a little over a year old and bites when brushed. He was very madded. I really didnt feel comfortable with giving him this. So I gave my dog a benedril which i seen worked. Calmed him down. When I took my dog in and told the groomer what I gave him she was not very nice and was basically yelling at me to never do that again and kept repeated it several times. She made me feel like I was the worse person in the world taking care of a dog. I will never take my dog to be groomed there again.

Incredibly happy with every aspect of the visit. No BS. Reception is efficient. Vet techs are friendly and knowledgeable. Met with Dr. Glantz, fantastic. Highly recommended for fellow Philly pet owners.

AMAZING! The staff is welcoming & friendly from the moment you and your pet step in the door. As my pup was a new patient, we had the pleasure of filling out all of her info on an iPad, which was pretty cool, and convenient. The vet and tech were incredibly pleasant and thorough- I never felt rushed (which has been the case at other offices.) And, to top it off, they emailed a detailed review of our visit- including lots of helpful tips for keeping my dog healthy. They also checked in a few weeks later to see how Pennys treatment plan was going. Brilliant!

Had my first appointment with these folks today - just an exam and rabies vacc for my house cat Sylvester. This place is wonderful! From the moment I came in the door, the staff was super helpful and very kind to my cat. Everyone in the office, the vet tech, and the vet were great with him and very thorough in addressing any concerns I had about his health. Prices are reasonable (exam and vaccinations were $108). A really great part of the experience is the detailed notes they emailed to me after the exam, including a diet plan for him and a quote for dental work in the future. I got a weekday afternoon appointment scheduled within a week of my first call, which I think is pretty reasonable. The office was pretty busy while I was there, and they definitely take the same amount of care with every animal that walks in the door. Every staff member listened carefully to the concerns of pet owners and observed the pets very thoroughly. I cant say enough great things about this place and I look forward to bringing my cat back.

I felt so comfortable and confident in the care here. My cat is scared of other animals so they told us we could call them from outside and wait in the car until a room was ready. My kitty is feisty but they handled her firmly and gently so she could get her shots and nail trim. They explained everything I should be doing for her clearly, and didnt try upselling me or anything on her treatment. I definitely recommend this place!

L really loved Companion Pet Hospital when they first opened in 2009. They are right in our neighborhood. We could get appointments very easily, the vets and staff were really attentive, they had short waiting times, and affordable prices. The last few times I tried to bring my dogs there, it was really tough to get an appointment (had to wait 3+ days). The last 2 times we needed a vet, it was in somewhat urgent situations and we ended up going to VSEC, where we had no problem seeing the vet within 10-15 minutes after walking in the door with no appointment. I also feel that the customer service at Companion has steadily declined. Technicians or even the vets used to email us with updates, photos, and follow-ups, which now happens less and less. They also seem much more rushed, less personalized, just kind of copy-paste type of responses. Overall I think its great that Companion has grown their business and become so successful, but perhaps it was too much too quick. I just think they need to be careful that it doesnt cause a decline in what made them so great in the first place.

My cat died on Christmas Eve. I took my cat to be treated for tapeworm, an easily treatable parasite. After Dr. Zemanian gave my cat medicine she threw it up, I called and they told me to re-administer the medicine and she died an hour later. After some research, my cat (who was only 8lbs) should have only received one pill, Dr. Zemanian prescribes 1.5 pills, so after she threw up and had an adverse reaction to the initial dose I was instructed to give her another pill (2.5 In total). Dr. Zemanian neglected to do a geriatric blood test before administering medicine. This was a mistake. They diagnosed her with a heart murmur and that is an indication of a hyperthyroid. It is procedure that before prescribing medicine to a geriatric cat, you take a geriatric blood test, especially when it was a cat you have never treated before. I reported the effects of intense nausea. After effects of intense nausea they did not recommend a topical treatment. After speaking to animal rescue activists and a prominent vet I learned that The combination of the drontal, the heart murmur, and nausea more than likely resulted in a vagal reaction. She did not even suggest this. Maybe if she did, My cat would be alive. The practice keeps telling me that you cannot overdose on dewormer. As for the inability to overdose on dewormer, you can overdose on anything, even aspirin. For instance, if you have had a blood clot you cannot take certain over the counter medicines that would not harm someone without a preexisting condition. So for me, to say Dr. Zemanian is not at fault here would be wrong. She neglected to make sure my cat was able to take medicine or if she has something that would cause an adverse effect before prescribing a dose.

The staff is very friendly, and the vet is knowledgeable and helpful. We’ve been taking our dog to Queen’s Village since she was born, but because of our busy days sometime it’s difficult to get appointment at all. Out of frustration, I googled for another VET in our area and found Companion. And luckily, they were able to fit us in for an appointment the same day that I called them. I’d like to give a warning about Companion. One of the vet techs (Lindsay) there almost ruined my service dog’s working career because of how rough she was with him (completely improper handling, the woman had no idea how a prong collar works and yanked on it so hard he yelped and jumped while the vet was examining him). After that they were unable to vaccinate him or draw blood for a heart worm test because he was terrified. She then had the nerve to lecture me about familiarizing him with having others handle him (hello he’s actually trained for that) when she is the sole reason he now mistrusts the vet. He’s never had a problem before (routine visits, emergencies, no issues whatsoever) and now we’ve had to work with a new vet’s office to desensitize.Anyways, proceed with caution. Hopefully that was a one-off, but Companion lost a client (with several animals) that day, and I’ll certainly never set foot in there again.

If you mention to the staff on the phone that your dog is reactive, they will try to schedule you before or after their other appointments to avoid waiting room freak-outs and always make it a positive experience for your pet. My cat also had to have surgery a few years ago, and they did an excellent job, performing the work of a specialist at a much lower price. Theyre also environmentally friendly, and have an awesome green wall in their waiting room. Best of all, they are very friendly and kind to all breeds of dogs! Love them.

My puppy Charlie and I had a great experience at Companion. The wait was a little long, but that was fine because the tech came out beforehand to ask us some questions til a room was available, and then Dr. Glantz spent as much time as we needed answering all of my questions and examining Charlie. His exam (our first wellness visit) was quick yet thorough, and he gave very open and helpful advice. They got me set up with a prescription for eye drops for Charlie’s irritated eyes just in case I wanted it, so that I could just call it in if necessary. The vet tech Karen even taught me how to administer drops on Charlie. Both Dr. Glantz and Karen followed up via email with information as promised. Also, CPH was able to get me in for an appointment within 24 hours of calling. Not to knock on other places, but a wellness visit here was only $51 vs $60-65 at World of Animals Rittenhouse, and Rittenhouse could not accommodate us until a week after calling. CPH also gives your first dose of flea/tick for free, which is awesome!Overall we are extremely satisfied and look forward to being patients here!

I have never written a review online in my life but I feel like this was such a positive experience I should let people know.We used to take our pets to the Banfield at Petsmart in South Philly and had a month to month plan with them. They made us feel so uncomfortable leaving our pets with them, didnt appear to take proper care, and were overall they were just rude and inconvenient. So, we decided to go to Companion Pet Hospital for our cat today for a checkup instead.Front desk - friendly, patient, professional.Vet tech- so nice and caring.Vet- caring, thorough, and quick. When I called and asked questions and prices before making the appointment they didnt rush me and were very nice and answered all my questions. They let me know exactly what it would cost. They didnt aggressively try to sell me more. I took my cat in from the street and brought him to Paws originally for neutering and shots and didnt have the paperwork and Companion Pet Hospital even called Paws to acquire information on him! Like I didnt even have to do that leg work! Then after the visit we were emailed a break down of everything that we had talked about. Just so professional and accomodating.Space was modern and clean. They have a parking lot too.Pricing was fair and reasonable. Animals can be expensive but I didnt find them to be more expensive than anywhere else with good care.In conclusion I feel like this vet is definitely as good as it gets and I was really impressed!

Companion Pet Hospitals customer service refused a food prescription, claiming a valid document was expired. They were terribly rude (particularly Brad- I think his name was) and raised his voice in from of a full lobby and wouldnt sell me the food I needed for my cat without booking a $100 annual physical - ready to sell the food before the consult. Didnt add up. Ive been a paying customer for 4 years with this CPH.My cat had recently been checked up throughly 3 months prior, and they wouldnt honor the document from a reputable vet in the same area. I went to VSEC to ask if the prescription was still valid, and they confirmed - It, in fact never expires. The customer service at VSEC was so remarkable. They were so kind, and sent me home with a pint bag of the cat food my tuxedo male truly needed. Thank you VSEC for making your practice about the animals more than the business bottom line !!I will never bring any pet of mine back to CPH. Rude, unconcerned with my pet, and unnecessarily unwilling to give a good, (much less great) customer experience.
