Thier massages are amazing , but theyll make you get the membership some how ,they dont stop asking to sign up for membership so they can just charge you 69$ a month even if you go to your appointments or not , this is pretty bad service .

I had a wonderful deep tissue massage by Anthony. Usually, I ask for firm pressure but its not enough to relieve some major tension and knots in my back, shoulders, and neck area - however, Anthony delivered the perfect amount of pressure to significantly relieve those knots. He was very friendly and professional and provided a highly effective deep tissue massage. I will definitely be back. Thanks!

Pretty good massage (maybe, it was my first one ever) but it didnt really fix any of my lingering muscle/joint pain. with a good tip and not a very loaded up package its about $100, and then on the way out theyll ask if youd like to learn about their lifestyle program which sounds like either a pyramid scheme or a cult

Im very familiar with this location and after reading some of the negative comments, I thought it would be useful to provide more information. The location employs 16 massage therapists and 4 estheticians, all educated at accredited schools and licensed in Pennsylvania as required by Hand & Stone and state regulations. They keep a notebook out front where you can see their current licenses and descriptions of their capabilities. They also receive national background checks, specialized Hand & Stone technical training and ethics education.The therapists range in experience from about a year to well over ten years, but experience isnt always the best indication of who will be the best match for your preferences. If you encounter any disappointment with your first service, just let the manager on duty know why before you leave and you will be taken care of and set you up with a better match.The membership program is a month to month program at a very economical rate. With this program, you are never obligated for more than the next months service and if you dont make it in in a particular month, the credit carries forward even for three months after you cancel the membership.If not a member, a deposit is needed to hold an appointment. They are happy to record your reservation and you can call back with the card when you have privacy. This is a necessary policy to protect the therapists who are paid based on services performed, and not paid for clients who casually reserve their time and do not show.Clients are asked to come early on their first visit to complete intake paperwork that is necessary to ensure that the services can be done safely. Sometimes services get backed up a bit because the previous client is a bit late. The spa will call you if they are running more than 15 minutes late. The business is focused on relaxation. They try to be as flexible as possible with traffic, parking, personal issues, work delays, etc. If you are on an extremely tight schedule, let them know in advance. If you feel your service was a few minutes shorter than advertised, speak to someone at checkout and you will be taken care of.This business has done over 100,000 services in nearly 9 years and very few complaints have been recorded. Most complaints on this site are about single circumstances ... a therapist who didnt meet a clients expectations once, a service being 5 minutes short, trouble finding parking, a computer error. The business wouldnt be around if 99.9% of services werent flawless, and if it was perfect every time, you would not find it on earth. :-)

Pleasant and very relaxing., I’ve had many experience with massages., but first time at hand and stone it was a pleasant atmosphere, I don’t normal do this review thing but I read some of them before I came for my appointment and there were nice ones and not so nice ones., one stuck with me it was about Craig I want to disagree he was very nice and professional yes he ask some questions and that’s fine he wanted to know how he can make the visit right for you. Im a waitress/mom and I’ve been very tensed and my body overworked and Craig did an amazing job loosing up those kinks, I enjoyed the experience so much I’m returning in a week and joining the monthly membership., thanks hand and stone for the experience and will be introducing my new relaxing spot to my co workers.

Massage therapist Craig is awesome! I booked with Craig by chance once when his availability was open and I cannot recommend him more. I decided to get a monthly membership and I will only book with him from now on. A few years ago during a college field hockey game, I was hit in the face with a players stick. Ever since, I have struggled with chronic stiff neck pain and TMJ flare ups. For years (in addition to physical therapy for the bigger issues) I have been getting massages and it has not been since Ive been going to Craig, that it has improved, if not healed almost entirely. Craigs professional knowledge and expertise helped to identify areas in my head, jaw, shoulders, and neck that needed to be targeted and the surrounding areas that needed improvement to be able to support lasting relief. Also, I went in presenting with neck pain but Craig identified my TMJ without even telling him that I struggle with that as well. He really is talented, and will always listen to your concerns and tie it with solutions from his expertise. I could not express a higher recommendation!Also, the staff here is awesome across the board. Everyone Ive come in contact with has always been so kind and super courteous- especially with all of the new COVID-19 restrictions and maintaining a well-cleaned & sanitized space. In my opinion, the best Hand & Stone in the city and area overall.

Lana is the best! I am so picky about who I let wax my eyebrows but Lana is fantastic at shaping beautiful brows. I have sensitive skin as well so she is always very gentle and makes sure to cool my skin down and apply a little bit of aloe after shes finished. This my first time at Hand & Stone. My boyfriend got it for me as an anniversary gift. I wish he got me something else. The front desk was nice and polite however, everything after was a disaster. i was placed in a room that sounded like it had an over stuffed washer next stole as all i could hear was banging. Craig (my massage therapist) was horrible. He talked the entire time. I was not able to relax. He asked me things like if I was right or left handed. He told me how he liked the beach and preferred to have the ocean sound on instead of music during the massage. He told me how he did not care for the aromatherapy smells. He was hitting stuff as he walked around the room and was telling me the room was to small for his big feet. I added three services to my message. Which i would thought would be a good thing. However, Craig told me that I was running over time because of this which he said was good for me but not for them. This made me feel so awkward. I felt it was completely rude as he is the one in charge of time management. He also told me that because I added these services other things he would have done for my regular message would be left out as there is not enough time to do the complete message and the add on items. Mind you I paid for these add on items and the massage. I wish he would have told me that before I added the services. This was not relaxing. I do not recommend this company and will not be returning. A complete waste of money and time.

I had been looking for a great place for regular massages. I am not new to massages but am new to this area. I was a little hesitant as Hand and Stone Massage is a chain. But I took a chance. I am so very glad I did!!!! The whole experience is warm and friendly without being artificial. The front desk people were friendly, open and inviting. The masseuse listened to what I needed and gave an excellent massage. I recommend this place.

My wife took me here this past Valentines Day and all I can say is WOW! Awesome experience from the massage to the customer service to the relaxing ambiance. I was fortunate to have Neanta smooth out my kinks and she delivered like a champ. I highly recommend her! I actually recommend all of their personnel at Hand and Stone. You will not be disappointed

Firstly the scent of this place is amazing. The staff are really nice and welcoming. The coconut water is the best water I’ve tasted thus far. We had a couple massages and it was relaxing, plus it helped to relive some stress. This place is definitely one you want to visit!

I went for my first spa treatment (facial) with Candice H. and it was wonderful. I felt the luxury of an expensive spa retreat in my own neighborhood, at a price I could afford. I was not pushed on enhancements or products, but informed on what would be best for my skin. I look forward to my next appointment.

This was one of the better first-time experiences I have had in a spa. I have never liked to be touched, but my wife convinced me some years ago that massage therapy would be good for my aches and pains. For years I remained with the same therapist, but relocating to Philadelphia meant I could not bring her with me. Dana was very caring and checked in with me regularly about my comfort level. My wife and will be returning.

A very calming environment as you arrive in their lobby. I have found that the therapist that work here are very caring and excellent. More extra add on options at this location which I prefer over the other nearby locations!

“Amazing,” pretty much sums up my massage by Mimi. I have been a loyal customer for several years. She is very professional and open to listening to your needs. I feel extremely relaxed and comfortable every time I visit Hand and Stone. While Mimi is knowledgeable, the thing that most impresses me is that she is also consistent. She listens each and every time I get a massage and always adapts to areas I need more or less pressure. I also love the hot towels at the end. Very soothing and relaxing and I dont feel greasy when Im done. I would definitely recommend Hand and Stone Logan Square (Specifically Mimi), if you are looking for quality service.

Wanted to give 5 stars. Unfortunately construction was going on at the time of my massage, it was sort of hard to tune out the noise. Otherwise my masseuse was amazing. I was serviced by Sabrina. It was literally the best massage I’ve ever received. The pressure was perfect, timing was perfect. Just perfect.

Check your accounts. They updated their pricing and gave me no notification. They had input my address incorrectly so I didnt get a letter and I didnt realize until I noticed the price was off in my statements and I looked back and it had been increased since July. I asked why they couldnt call me since I get a phone call from them monthly to which the manager replied that it was impractical to call 2,000 members. Again, you call me monthly. You could have mentioned it in the phone calls. She offered me a $30 credit to use in the future but I unknowingly paid an extra $50, so Im still out money you basically cheated me out of. I wouldnt mind if I still went to this location but I dont, so theres really no need for me to be paying even more money for something I have to convince myself is worth it monthly considering how broke I am. Definitely also irritated on principle. I do commend her for her even tone and swift response despite my very obvious frustrations. I do understand the reasoning behind it and support paying the therapists more. Unfortunately, I do not get a monthly massage to add to my stress which this did, so I cancelled my membership. I will likely rejoin at another location as Ive come to be almost proud of this monthly act of self-care. Yari, if shes still there, is really awesome. Id highly recommend her. I drove 45 minutes for about a year just to come to her. Geri was awesome too. She was my first therapist.Edit to response: theres also mass texts, mass automated calling, and email. After being a member for a year and visiting several locations in Philly, Houston and California, I can say that this location disappoints me time and time again. If I didn’t have a point of comparison from some excellent massages at sister locations, I may have been satisfied but these therapists are not particularly skilled. They can do a soft Swedish massage if that’s what you need. However if you need firmer and more skillful hands that can tackle more demanding knots and the tension that accumulates when you work in a laptop every day- don’t bother. I tried several people that were recommended by the front desk but not one met my expectations. I finally canceled my membership and will search for a better alternative.

I received a massage today that my body has been screaming for and to top it off the Queen that did my massage hit all the right spots and made me feel so much better. Even though I will not be purchasing a membership but I will be returning. Tiana did a great job on me and I definitely will be making another appointment with her!!! I visited this location because I was experiencing acute Sciatica pain. I explained my issue on the phone and was scheduled that day with Nafis, whose massage specifically addressed my issue. He was very professional, empathetic and he really helped me. The location is clean and very Zen! Ill be back!

I really feel the massage that I received was average at best. Id rather this place a meh. My therapist (using that term loosely) was very nice but it was a weird and meh experience from the start. Let me preface all of this by saying, I get massages a couple times a year. I am recovering from a sports injury and really felt like one more massage would put me back to right. My appointment started late, which my therapist said not to worry because he had a break after my appointment so Id be able to have my full time. What kind of statement is that??? I wasnt the one running late. Do you mean to tell me that if you had another appointment after mine, Id only get a 50 minute massage even though I booked a 60? Not the right foot for us to start on. Also, I booked a hot stone massage which my guy forgot about the stones until the last 10 minutes and again mentioned his break when discussing how to handle. Ugh. Lastly, at no point did he locate the rather large knot I have in my shoulder not did he look for it though I had mentioned it. Honestly, I left with the same pain I went in with. If youre looking for a weekly/monthly massage just because you like them, this is probably a good place for you. If youre looking for a therapist who will help you physically, this might not be a good match. Im glad I was only paying an introductory rate this visit.

Im a member and have had both great and less than great experiences. I didnt like the facial or a recent massage. I didnt feel in either case that there was any connection to my actual situation, either my skin or my muscular needs. Felt amateur. Other two times I had a massage it was wonderful and the technician zoned in on my problem area like a pro. Unfortunately she doesnt work there anymore. So, hit or miss but Ill keep trying until I find a new masseuse who is really good.

For 4+ years I have always been extremely happy with all aspects of my visits to Hand and Stone Logan Square-the reception staff and management are always very welcoming and interested in my wellbeing as well as the experience I had with their massage therapists. They encourage any feedback from their clients and are accommodating with visit schedules. The waiting area is very comfortable and has great views of Center City. The massage staff are very professional and accomplished in their training, always asking about how I felt after the previous massage and any new issues which may need more focused massage at that time. I leave feeling relaxed and much better!! I highly recommend Logan Square Hand and Stone!!!

Ive been coming to the Logan Square location for about 6 months and they have resold me on H&S as a company - they take professionalism and customer care to another level... During a visit to Philadelphia, I had a free afternoon and decided to book a massage at the Hand & Stone in Logan Square. I really needed some chill time and this was the perfect way to get it started. I was not disappointed. I was warmly greeted by the person at the front desk. The waiting area was peaceful and calming. The massage therapist was welcoming and made me feel very comfortable (the massage thing is kind of weird when you really think about it). I had the hot stone massage and loved every minute of it. Yes, they asked about a membership on my way out but were not pushy at all. Very relaxing...cant wait for my next trip to Philly!

Its been several months that I cannot get rid of their membership. They keep charging my card in spite of several phone calls that I made to request termination of the contract. I have to print out their form, explain them why I want to terminate the contract, sign it, scan it, send it back. Then they will charge my card one last time. Jeez, am I buying a car, or taking a loan from them? I sent them this form three days ago via email and asked them to confirm the receipt. Heard nothing in reply. Called them and was told that the processing of the form will take 42 hours. Its been more than 70 hours and nothing. I emailed again - nothing! Making customers jump through the loops to stop their membership is such a pathetic business model! Also the services I got there were subpar. Although their prices seem lower than average, its not so: for example, you come for a facial, and theyll charge you extra $20 for sensitive skin. I find it ridiculous. Facial is supposed to give you benefits, and they require additional money to make it less harmful for me... Ok, payed, I gave 20% tip (overall the sum approached $100), and I still have irritation on my skin for a week after the procedure. Charging extra to make facial less irritating is ridiculous, especially if it doesnt work. Their massage does not help, it is not therapeutic! They just stroke your skin. It is pleasant with music and ambience, but the knots on my back do not disappear after the massage. If anything they become worse! They charged my card three times already since I started calling them, and they will charge it once more. But I dont even know how to get 4 more services without harming myself.

I try to get to this place once a month and get either a massage or facial; both of which I really enjoy here. I joined about a year ago and thought Id never go that often, but I do because I always feel relief from tension, stress and pain from getting massages. My skin has really cleared up to and I feel much better about my appearance. Their staff is awesome, knowledgeable, gentle and caring. Try this spa...youll love it and it wont put a big dent in your wallet!

First let me start off by saying i love the customer service that is the best part. Every massage i have received i didnt like except two. They start your time before they start the massage and its not and whole hour. Thats a big issue because you pay for and hour.

I came to Hand & Stone because I received a gift card. My mother is a skincare specialist and I’m no newcomer to skincare or massages. With that being said, Diana (I believe her first name was, I’m sorry if I mess it up!) Rivera was amazing. I was in a really bad accident just two weeks prior to the massage, and she applied all the pressure I needed. I let her know what was up and she delivered x3!!! If you want the frill of a luxury spa with steam room, saunas, and robes- this isn’t it. If you want quality massage with pressure, attentiveness, and more then go to Ms. Rivera!

Really enjoyed the facial I got on Saturday. My esthetician was friendly and knowledgeable BUT those little eye shield she had me wear were so tiny and irritated my eyes afterwards to the point that I thought I had an eye infection. All that to say -- please clean those eye shields with something after each use. My eyes will thank you and the entire experience would have been top notch if I could see while driving away with my glowing skin.

Absolutely Amazing! I received a healing massage from Celeste and I was left on cloud nine for two days. It was not just a temporary feel good massage but it was therapeutic in that Celeste worked on areas of my body that needed healing. This is not to say that I am completely cured of ailments, but with my spine straight and feeling no pain, I strolled away from Hand & Stone with a smile and feeling that I could conquer any conflict that might arise.

I bought a gift certificate for my brother for an 80 minute massage in another branch. He went to this branch and they gave him the treatment and told him he had to pay an extra $40 on top of what I paid. He was amazed and tried to understand why but did not get a clear answer. Off course any relaxation from the massage quickly wore off after the discussion with the receptionist. This is beyond bad customer service and common sense.So I spent close to a $100 on a gift, which resulted in me feeling embarrassed putting my brother in an uncomfortable situation and having him charged extra money for a gift I paid for.I would stay away from these folks, and warn everyone I can.Update:After calling my branch and having them talk to this location the owner called my brother and apologized. She said the will refund him the extra $40 in the mail. Since I did not hear back from my branch I called this branch and was transferred to the owner, she informed me that she spoke to my brother and apologized to him told me about the refund of the wrongfully charged money. Just a shame bad judgment made a lousy evening for a bunch of people instead of a pleasant experience.

I have been to several Hand and Stones and this is one of my favorites! They pay lots of attention to detail- very courteous and the back hallway is very quiet so your massage is not disrupted. Highly recommend.

If ever there could be a case made for cloning, Yari would be the one. I wish there were 5 Yaris, able to give me a massage each day of the work week. She loves her job and it shows. Some ppl give massages but Yari tends to her client’s needs. She’s in tune with the trouble spots and gently but firmly melts them away. One of the many things I love about her is she’s a student - willing to learn new techniques and ways of helping her clients. Can’t say enough about her.

My massage therapist was very beginner. When I asked she mentioned she started a few months ago. While she was nice, I specifically asked for someone experienced. She leaned her whole body weight on my left shoulder and I was in pain for days. I won’t be returning.

My overall experience was great. My masseuse was wonderful! Would definitely go back!

Chantal did my facial she was amazing! Very gentle and friendly. I got a warm greeting from the front desk agent and other staff members were polite and courteous. Ill deffo be back next month.

I highly recommend Olive Wallace for your next massage. I have been going to her for 5 months now and she is absolutely terrific. Carla, a manager, is very helpful as is Eric at the desk.

My wife has a membership with Hand and Stone. We generally get massages at the Locust Street and Flourtown locations and weve always received excellent service. Unfortunately, last Saturday both of those locations were booked, but we were able to get a couples massage at the 20th street location. The receptionists were friendly and we were immediately escorted to the back and to our room by our therapists. Once the massage began things went downhill. My wifes therapist apparently had a cold and sniffled the entire massage. Can you imagine lying face up on a table with someone standing over your face massaging your temples while looking down at you? We all know how gravity works so you can only imagine the horrifying thought of nasal mucus possibly dripping on your face or anywhere on your body for that matter. The constant sniffling made it impossible to relax for both of us. My wife because of the obvious and me suffering from misophonia, the constant sniffling was highly annoying. The therapist eventually left the room for about 10 seconds (Im assuming to blow her nose because the sniffling stopped after she returned). However, the therapist wasnt gone long enough to have washed her hands after blowing her nose. I know this because the couples private sanctuary is midway down the hall and the bathroom is all the way at the end of the hall and to the left. In hindsight, we shouldve immediately stopped the massage. I actually really wish we had. The massage ended about 15 minutes later just as I was beginning to relax. As we exited the room my wife politely declined the water since were pretty sure the therapists germs were still on her hands smh. Upon checkout, we informed the receptionists of our experience. They apologized and said they would consult a manager. Moments later, a woman came over and the receptionist whispered something to her. The woman then came to the computer where we were standing, pressed a couple of keys, and walked away having said nothing. The receptionist asked if we wanted to leave a tip. When we asked about the manager she said, oh, that was her. She waived $10. I gave the receptionist my card to tip the therapists and we left to go to our next appointment. My wife has since called this location multiple times to address the issue. She spoke to Felicia on 11/13; Brittany on 11/14; and a third call on 11/12 that I, unfortunately, dont have a record of. Both women assured her they would relay the message to the manager and her phone call would be returned, and Im sure they did. Our calls were never returned. Finally, my wife called the Locust Street location where we are familiar with to get advice and luckily the woman volunteered to call the Logan Square location to encourage the manager to contact us. Today, as I type this, the manager finally called, AFTER having to be contacted by another manager. Her tone was quite dismissive, condescending and she was unsympathetic. She eventually waived my wifes massage, but I assure you we will never return to this location again even though it is the closest to our home. What an inconvenience! I implore you to steer clear of this location and encourage you to visit the Locust Street or Flourtown locations where you will be treated with professionalism and where your business is appreciated.

Very friendly staff and nice spacious location. The masseuse Diana was great, applied just the right amount of pressure and instinctively knew my tough spots.

Great staff I was helped by Felicia who was awesome & my masseur was Nafis been here plenty of time but best massage so far.... I will be back soon
