I came here for a haircut after reading the good reviews on Yelp and I am so glad that I did. Stephen was the one who cut my hair and he did such an amazing job! He was so professional and he went above and beyond to style my hair. He provided excellent and practical recommendations that suits me. I definitely recommend this place for any hair services and you wont be disappointed especially if you have Stephen working with you.

Ester was awesome!! She waxed my brows and cut and styled my hair. She worked some absolute magic. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy with my hair or brows. Highly recommend this salon and Ester!!

What can I say this place is a hit. Im a hairstylist myself and its often hard for me to find someone who offers the level of care and consideration that I do. But one day when I was at the nail salon next door I saw someone with beautiful hair and asked her where she got it done at and she told me I had the Gemini of Chicago. So I made myself an appointment. I had a haircut from Esther and I just have to say she did a phenomenal job. I was super happy with everything that she did and I left feeling like a million bucks. I definitely will go back again. Thanks Esther youre awesome!!!!

I have been coming to Gemini for years now. Kassidy is the only person in the world allowed to get close to my hair while holding a pair of scissors. She is not only one of the sweetest person I have ever met but she really knows what she is doing when it comes to hair. I would recommend Kassidi to anyone without hesitation.

I was extremely happy with Taylor!! She did an amazing job on my cut and color!! She took the time to explain processes and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Shes very sweet, talented, and an excellent colorist! I highly recommend Taylor!!!

When I first visited this salon, Laura, the co-owner and more aggressive of the twins, was extremely nice, but then something happened and professionalism went out the door. The twins fought in front of customers without regard. And by the way, if youre planning to get a haircut, make sure shes not mad because it doesnt matter who shes mad at, your hair suffers. I wasnt a walk-in customer, I was a regular, who got full service, eg, coloring, highlights, haircuts. She knew I was going to a conference that was really important to me, but her immaturity controlled everything, including the haircut she gave me that was so short, there was nothing I could do with it. That was the last time I went to the salon. I dont need a tempermental hairdresser who cant remember the importance of the customers presence as paying her salary. Now, she has many stylists in the salon which Im sure is the reason shes still in business.

I had been having my hair done elsewhere ... after six months I wasn’t happy with the progress of my hair and all the damage that had been done to it.I decided to visit Esther after reading all the great reviews about her. BEST DECISION!!!Not only did she patiently have a consult with me and truly listened to my hair goals, she gave me the realistic options ,and most importantly she genuinely cares about the health of my hair and making sure whatever we did would be what was actually best for my hair.After ONE session, she successfully corrected my hair color. She provided me great service, even squeezing me into her books when she had a cancelation. I have already scheduled my next two appointments with her and pleased with the loose plan we have laid out for my hair journey. Thank you!!!

I go for a cut an color on a regular basis. Allie is my girl! She does a phenomenal job with the color, I get tons of people asking where I get my hair done. Her cuts are equally as goodI highly recommend her! Very personable and sweet, does exactly what you want.

I have been going to this salon for about 10 years. My stylist is the owner Laura Kiorkis. I am always amazed at the excellent service and knowledge that she has. There are always people who just really are exceptional at their career. She is one of them. Her prices are higher than average but well worth it. If you want quality you have to pay for it. I would highly recommend her.

I moved to Peoria 2 months ago and I couldnt find anyone to recommend a hair salon to me. Finally a neighbor said she went to Gemini and was very happy with them. So after dragging my feet I went online and read reviews and decided to give them a try. I made my appointment with Laura and I loved her and loved my cut. The shop is very nice and everyone seems very friendly. I was not disappointed. I have already booked my next appointment. I have found my salon. Extremely happy!!!!!

Ester always gives a great cut, color and style

Lisa at Gemini of Chicago has been cutting my hair for almost 6 years. I also have both my daughters hair cut by her as well. I have short hair and both my girls have thick curly hair and Lisa has always done a great job in cutting both. Until now I really havnt had much negative to say about Lisa. She is a skilled stylist and is pleasant to be around. But last week I went to have my hair cut and she seemed to be in an unusual hurry. She started cutting barley saying two words to me throughout. Now, because I have short hair I always have Lisa rinse my hair out before styling so that all of the little pieces of hair don’t end up all over me, my clothes and everything else. This never seems to be a problem unless she is running late or in a hurry like that particular day. (BUT REALLY iT SHOULD NEVER BE A PROBLEM) When I asked to be rinsed, she immediately pointed to her watch and in an irritated voice said, “I don’t have time”! I was taken back by her attitude, but again this is not the first time she has done this to me. And then she tells me that her assistant can do it but then he will have to style me because she doesn’t have time and that if I always want to be rinsed then she will have to book more time and that will cost me more!! EXCUSE ME?? BUT WHAT??? I come to see Lisa not her assistant and I pay Lisa to cut my hair!! After all of the years I have been coming to her, I don’t think I should need to remind her to do something that always needs to be done, that would be like me having to tell her how to cut my hair every time I go in. If I had to do that I would find a new hair stylist. Plus, I get my hair cut every 5 weeks and I pay full price just like everyone else that comes less often or has more hair. It takes her all of 20min to cut my hair and she doesnt have TIME to rinse and style me?? I’m very saddened by this! I did not want to have to find a new stylist, but I refuse to pay to be treated like that. I really liked Lisa, but there is no excuse for her to treat me or anyone else that way. I will no longer be going to Gemini nor will I ever recommend Lisa again. You lost a very good client and for nothing!!!*IN RESPONSE to Lisa’s reply-I’m sorry, but I could not let your response go un answered. If you are not going to tell the truth then you really shouldn’t say anything at all. You book me for only 30 minutes. You know it and I know it! You make money on my haircut because it takes even less than 30min and you get paid full price and I come every 5 weeks. I’m sure any hair stylist would love a client like that! You have no excuse for the need to be reminded about rinsing me after 6 years and more than 60 haircuts; and when I remind you I should NEVER be met with the attitude that I have been met with on several occasions. I have held my tongue every time, but last week was the last straw for me. And you did not tell me you had time until after I was upset and even then you were still going to have your assistant style me. At that point it was to late.I havnt nor have my girls ever had their hair styled by someone other than you without prior ok, that would be outrageous for the nearly $70 you charge for a cut and a short pixie at that! Again, you lost a good client, actually 3, for no fault other than your own! So disappointing!

For $200 you would expect a very high level of expertise in coloring and service. This was not the case. Dani was clearly overbooked popping between clients and did not have time to do the highlights properly. They came out very uneven in chunks or small stripes. The back was over processed and the front was under processed. I have had a few bad highlights over the years, but this was probably the worst. Had I not paid $200 only to have it fixed elsewhere it would not be so disappointing.

Lisa is the best! Have been a client for years and have recommended her to many happy friends. Shes worth the drive and specializes in color. I get constant compliments every time I leave. Thanks Lisa!

We didnt really get the color (Pastel Purple) that we had hoped for BUT we did get 100% professional service and even a call from Lisa (one of the owners) when I expressed my concerns about how the color turned out.Our stylist, Kelsey, was wonderful and explained the process and did her best to set expectations about how long a fashion color might last - but I think our own expectations were just not in line with that since wed never done it before. That being said, I am very glad we did the lightening process in the Salon with a PRO because thats not something you want to mess up at home.

I have used this Salon numerous times and have never had a bad experience. I used to be so picky about which stylist did my hair at some of the chain haircut stores because it was so hard to find someone who knew what they were doing. Not here... It does not matter which stylist has cut my hair I have never had a bad cut. Highly Recommend.

New client. When making appointment explained to receptionist I needed a stylist that take time to hear me out and look at the pictures. I was one minute late due to road construction. Called salon as a courtesy to say I was on the way. Less than 7 minutes. I was told I had to reschedule because stylist would not have time to finish my cut. I am very disappointed that I was only given a ten window to view pictures talk with stylist. Said I could come back at 12 same day. No. I will go where the salon takes the care and time needed.In response to this statement. You said if I could not make it within ten minutes Dani could NOT finish my cut. You even verified that with Dani. Nothing was said about a fifteen minute window. You said we will have to reschedule and I could come back at 11 oclock. Tell it correctly or not at all.

This salon is horrible one of the girls who was new chopped my hair off in the back so it was way shorter then the front. When she was coloring my hair her and her friends took off to color one anothers hair! Very unprofessional ! Dont recommend the owner claimed she would fix it chopping it more therefore not fixing it only making matters worse!
