My name is Christine McErlean and I have been Dr. Wolchoks patient since June, 2016. I had written some words about my experience in 2017, not thinking that I would still be here to write an update. Even at that moment in time, I was grateful for the wonderful care and hard work Dr, Wolchok and Ali Weinstein extended me even though I had late stage Metastatic Melanoma. Without their love and support, I alone would have given up long ago. I can still hear the words Dr. Wolchok whispered in my ear when I was at my worst point. He leaned down and quietly whispered in my ear, Christine, Im trying to save your life. Those words lifted me up and to this day, still reverberate within me and have given me the will and strength to continue fighting.As is common knowledge, Melanoma is very tough to beat, especially at the late stage I was in. Why I am still here, is a mystery to many. Even though I suffered a lot, I learned a lot. I didnt want to live but God surrounded me with people who wanted me to. I am so grateful that I was chosen to be touched by these angels who will remain in my heart forever.Dr. Wolchok, is a brilliant scientist who is dedicated to solving the complicated workings of the devious Melanoma. He has done so much and saved so many lives with his endless search for a cure for this killer.Aside from his brilliance and dedication, he is such a sweet, kind, caring person......how lucky am I?Ali Weinstein...I really dont have enough words to describe her. She is not only knowledgeable but honest, kind, funny, and a rock in times of need. I care for her beyond words.. She always keeps her word and her concern is palpable. I feel as if she is my friend (I wish) and reads me like no one ever has. The most amazing Dr walking this earth. He has Dedicated his life to saving others. He goes beyond what ever your hopes are in finding the perfect Oncologist. Melanoma is his passion he never gives up on you, never. Although his home is Memorial Sloan Kettering , He is very recognized around the world for his research and findings about Melanoma. He is kind, caring and compassionate. Dr Jedd Wolchok you are one of a kind. You will always have a place in my heart.
