I had a wonderful doctor for my cancer treatment at MSK.Clearly it’s all about the doctor you have. My husband went directly to MSK when he was diagnosed with cancer based upon my treatment. Unfortunately his MD Dr. Varghese never fought for him. She started him on the standard treatment regimen of chemo. Very “by the book”. Interpersonally she’s never been empathetic or optimistic. His treatment team including his liver surgeon convinced him to get a hepatic pump that damaged his liver and was never a good idea for his treatment. Once his initial chemo stopped working she gave up on him. We went for 2nd opinions elsewhere and learned about so many other treatments (biologics ) that were never mentioned at Sloan. Other doctors were so much more optimistic. Dr Varghese said cancer is not under our control essentially implying. It’s in Gods hands. We’re leaving Sloan for his treatment immediately
