Dr Steven Beldner is an A+1 doctor for injuries/concerns from the elbow to the hand. I first saw Dr Beldner about 18 years ago for tendone surgery to my left wrist from an injury. My wrist hasnt bothered me since. My nephew at four years old was also operated in his pinky finger from a door that crushed it. He is 20 now and you cant tell anything happened. Ive had other injuries(elbow, wrist, fingers) and Dr Beldner has always been right on money with his assessment and plan for recovery. Extremely satisfied. Haphazardly, I was referred to him by another doctor four years ago for the elbow injury because that doctor wanted a more experienced diagnosis. Id recommend Dr Beldner to anyone.

Excellent surgeon. Saved my hand two years ago. Then, over this summer, I developed a tennis elbow syndrome, as I thought, after an intense physical therapy. He did then a steroid injection, and it helped for a while. In three months, again, my hand started aching, and I asked for another steroid injection. He gave it to me, but wasn’t happy that I didn’t continue with a physical therapy. I said it hurts, but he didn’t believe me, and mentioned my law case, thinking, maybe, that I’m “collecting “ my complaints for a case, which is, yes, a common practice. But not mine. He did take care of me, still the aftertaste that I left his office with, prompted me to seek a second opinion. I have a high deductible insurance, and for everything pay out of pocket on a dot. Yet, regardless of insurance, there should be a certain degree of trust between a patient and a physician. Without it, there is no rapport.

I started off the summer off by tearing my bicep tendon. This was the first time I have ever looked at an injury and knew that it would need to be operated on.Doctor Beldner was very straight forward with me, and explained the procedure, the recovery process, and the potential complications that could occur. I had my surgery on the 18th of June, 2020. Today is September 8th, 2020. I have my arm back. I have strictly followed his post operative instructions, and I am now pretty close to being 100% healed. I still take it easy with the arm, but I am now in the re-strengthening phase of recovery.I’m glad I went to Doctor Beldner for this procedure. And his office is pleasant to deal with. Everyone there is professional and top notch. Thank you all.

Over Labor Day weekend 2018 I sustained a horrific fall in which I badly broke my lower right ulna and radius. When I asked several people, independently, who had experienced similar accidents who the “go to” hand surgeon in NYC is, they all had the same answer — Dr. Steven Beldner and his partner.Dr. B. did not disappoint. He is a thorough and exacting clinician who delivers superior results. He also manages expectations realistically — after telling me I could need three surgeries, he did it all in one to set the bone with a titanium plate.During my eight months of occupational therapy — which has now restored my typing, writing, and guitar playing to functioning levels — I saw Dr. B. every few months. He was always a great mix of matter-of-fact and encouraging. He consistently acknowledged my progress — which was slow but steady — while spurring me on to greater performance. In spite of the high standards he obviously sets for himself, I always had the sense that he sincerely cared about my unique situation, and that my needs were his top priority.I am very grateful to Dr. Beldner, his PA Jeff, and the entire support staff at NY Hand & Wrist Center for the terrific care I received from them. I have recommended them to several other people — as it seems that serious hand accidents are pretty common.

Great staff. today was the 2nd time I have used his services (1st time was in 2010 for a broken hand). What sets Dr. B apart is that he provides well informed, thoughtful and thorough choices to his patients without talking down to patients . I would highly recommend Dr. B to anyone especially active people.

I was recommended to Dr. Beldner and sure enough (right away) he explained my situation as clear as day. No unnecessary doctor terms that leaves you in the dark. I had a broken wrist and in addition I required carpel tunnel all at the same time. As an artist it was important for me to get my wrist back in top shape. After surgery and physical therapy, I couldnt be any more excited about my recovery! Im functioning as I was prior to my accident! Thanks Doc!

Went to Dr. Beldner for the first time today for my nail. Someone slammed my finger in the door and my new nail was growing under the other which was causing me a lot of discomfort. First of all, the front desk was kind and handled my paper work promptly. I went to the back pretty fast. The office is beautiful, and they have an x ray machine. Super fast. Super convenient. The xray tech was kind and patient with me, he instructed me on how to place my hand for the xrays. Dr. Beldner’s physician assistant was awesome. He took my information and not soon after I saw the doctor. He was so kind, gave me options and left it up to me to decide what I wanted to do. Just want to say thank you to everyone.

I had bi-lateral carpal tunnel release surgery performed by Dr. Beldner & his staff (July 2018/Dec 2018), and have nothing but positive things to share! Happy to report that my pain and symptoms are gone...but beyond that, I was most impressed with the entire procedure and care I received from start to finish. I was also super impressed that on the day of my surgery, after he had been in the OR all day starting at 7:30am, Dr. Beldner personally called me at the end of the day (around 6pm!) to see how I was feeling. He didnt ask an RN or someone else to do it...he cares that much about his patients. So if you are considering the surgery, consider this my two-thumbs up review. Thank you Dr. Beldner & Team!

Dr. Beldner operated on a very bad wrist fracture I had. The first doctor I had seen with this injury had also suggested surgery but stated that the wrist would be somewhat disabled even afterwards.Dr. Beldner repaired my wirst, it is better than ever. Not only he is a great doctor but a very kind person. I am very fortunate to have met him and grateful for what he did for me. He also treated my sister and my husband, our family owe him a lot. I hold him in very high regard and recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor of this specialty.

I have Scleroderma for over 15 years now and I cannot thank Dr. Beldner and his staff for all they did to make my hand functional again. I waited quite a while to get this done because I heard that hand surgery was painful and could take several operations. Dr. Beldner was so knowledgeable about Scleroderma, and his team was not only nice, but so exceptional that I cannot wait to do my other hand. My only regret was that I didnt come to him sooner! What a huge improvement to my quality of life. You have no idea how wonderful it is to use my hand again and not be in pain constantly. I truly cannot say enough about everyone at Northwell. Wish I wasnt so scared and came here sooner. Other hand in February 2020!!! Cant believe I am looking forward to a surgical procedure but I truly am!

Several weeks ago I fractured my wrist. Initially, I saw another doctor who was referred to me by the ER. However, upon removal of my cast (6 weeks after the injury) there was a complication that was a surprise to both me & the initial doctor. In a panic, I went to Dr. Beldner (who got me in immediately, by the way) & I am so thankful that I did. He is kind, warm, caring and incredibly knowledgeable. He is attentive, thorough and takes his time when evaluating a problem. Most importantly, he is an excellent diagnostician! I wouldnt trust my hands to anyone else. Thank you Dr. Beldner. And thank you for always personally returning my calls to address all the questions that I have had. You are a very special doctor. Wish they were all like you.

They double charged Splint fee, and does not reimbursement. My request for reimbursement of Splint deposit has been ignored for many months, numerous times. Office staff says, my only way is to keep contacting Nichelle Alston (who works at a remote location, never responded to phone or emails) . While office staff makes me pay on site, they do not process reimbursement on site.

My son is a college football player. He plays QB and sustained an injury to his throwing wrist last year. We were not sure what it was. The possibilities ran the gamut from a break to torn ligaments and finally to the ultimate nightmare, avascular necrosis or Kienbocks Disease as it is referred to in the medical world. I literally searched for the top hand/wrist specialists in the metropolitan area saw 5 different surgeons from some of the top hospitals in the city and then I finally met Dr. Beldner. To say he stood head and shoulders above all the others is an understatement. He was the most knowledgeable, and coupled that with an excellent bed side manor. His entire medical and administrative staff deserve major kudos as well. They were courteous and always went out of their way to help my son get back on the field. Dr. Beldner completely understood that sentiment as well but was sure to put his medical health first, but at the same time he was cognizant that we wanted to get him on the field as soon as possible, without sacrificing his long term health. Not an easy balancing act but one he was masterful at.. He patiently explained everything to us and based on his measured approach we were able to avoid a surgical procedure that some of the other professionals seemed all to quick to want to do. Whether you are looking for a sports doctor or just a wonderful all around doctor who cares and always answers the phone look no further than Dr. Steven Bender. Hes a rare breed and what the medical profession is supposed to be about.I wanted to add some additional information regarding my experience with Dr. Beldner and his staff. I wanted to again compliment the herculean efforts his entire office and staff made recently. My son had to be scheduled for surgery based on the condition with his wrist. We were in the office this past Monday, May 7th and Dr. Beldner had time the following day on Tuesday but it then became about jockeying time in the OR. His assistant Terri who handles the surgical procedures was fabulous. She stayed late and kept calling until she was able to resolve the issue and get the time worked out so Steven could get in the following day. A special thanks to Dr. Beldners PA Jeff Grady. He played an instrumental role as well because he was able to work with my insurance carrier and have Stevens most recent MRI approved in short order. Without Jeffs and Terris persistence we wouldnt have been able to get the procedure identified and taken care of so quickly and that means a lot to us as he has to be ready for pre-season camp in August. Couple that with Dr. Beldners bedside manner and brilliance in the operating room and we are confident my son will finally be able to get back onto the field. A place where he is truly happy. That is what all parents want to see. If you need a doctor and staff who ALWAYS put the patient first, you need look no further than Steven Beldner.

I met with Dr. Beldner and he is wonderful as is his PA. Dr. Beldner is tentative and works with the patient to figure out the best possible solution for his patient. I am so glad my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Beldner. Unfortunately, there is a problem in getting someone to answer the phone, return a call or respond to a fax. This is not the first time this has happened, but I will give them one more chance. I hope someone in administration reads this and makes an attempt to understand the importance of answering the phone and assisting patients.

Hands down (pun intended) best doctor ever.Long version is: I cut my finger badly over the weekend and at the ER they said I damaged my tendon.Monday morning I called Dr. Beldner’s office and they managed to get me in same day. Mind blown. After a super thorough and informative exam it was concluded that I will need surgery, since I cut through most of the tendon. My surgery appointment was set for that Friday. Now the plot thickens. On Tuesday I found out that my insurance was ending on Thursday and my employer have yet to decide on a new provider. Upon explaining this to Courtney, the surgical coordinator at Dr. Beldner’s office, she agreed to squeeze me in on Wednesday. If there was anything left of my blown mind it was now obliterated.I managed to get clearance for Surgery from my primary physician, Dr. Baturalp Baserdem who I also highly recommend, that same day.Wednesday comes and I can’t express how great everything went. From the cleanliness of the facility, the amazing staff members, and Dr. Beldner’s superior care. It was just awe inspiring. This experience restored my lost faith in modern medicine. To top it all, that evening Dr. Beldner called me personally to ask if everything was ok and if I had any further questions.Thank you so much!

Went to Dr Beldner on a recommendation from a friend after a long period of basically what amounted to nontreatment by a doctor in Long Island. The doctor in Long Island just did endless expensive self paid MRIs on my finger, which got smashed in an accident, with necrosis setting in. On the first visit with Dr. Beldner, he cleaned it all up and performed the necessary surgical procedure to start the road to healing. Very glad to have made the appointment, I have to wonder how much difference there might have been if I went to him in the first place-

Over the course of my life, Ive had stitches six times in my fingers and hands, two of which required surgery. About a month ago, I lopped a nice flap off my thumb while cutting a red onion; in retrospect, I should have had it stitched right then, though in the moment I thought it would heal on its own. Though Id also sliced through the nail, the cut seemed to be improving, until one day, about six days later, I unwrapped it, and my thumb looked like it had grown a brain; I had a growth sitting on it the size of a chick-pea. I had a granulation tissue spewing out of the crack, and also out one side of the thumb. It was hideous. I went to the ER; the doctor in the ER didnt feel up to doing it herself; she referred me to a specialist at a plastic surgery place - Dr. Adam Shaffner; excellent doctor; he looked at it; he told me what he believed needed to be done (he was right; slightly different take than the ER doctor); when he came back into my room, it was 2:30 PM on a Friday. He had a print-out in his hand; he said the exact procedure wasnt one hed done in several years, so he was going to send me to - in his opinion - one of the best two or three hand surgeons in the city of NY. Hed gone ahead and phoned Dr. Steven Beldner, and Dr. Beldner agreed to stay late at the Beth Israel Hand Center and do the procedure right that afternoon. As for Dr. Shaffners opinion of Dr. Beldner, he couldnt have been more correct. His staff was great. So was he. Fast. Efficient. To the point. And a perfect job. He had to remove part of the nail, cut out the granuloma, re-open my original cut, re-align, and put in several stitches. When the bandages first came off a week later, my jaw fell open. It looked like a thumb! And hed done the surgery IN OFFICE, on the spot, and all it cost me was a $25 co-pay. If you need work done on a hand, make Beldner the one you see. I daresay it was the best doctoring experience of my life. (Ive had knee scopes, a ruptured achilles tendon, all sorts of things over the years.) In the small drama of this thumb, Beldner was the deus ex machina. Id give him as many stars as any rating site would allow me to give him. Kudos as well to Dr. Adam Shaffner.
