Let me just put it this way— If Dr. Herman practiced general medicine I would make him my PCP in a heartbeat. He is the not just the best gastroenterologist I’ve ever had, but the best doctor PERIOD. Dr. Herman really takes the time to listen, he cares and wants to help find and resolve his patients GI issues. I didn’t even come in to address my IBS, Dr. Herman noted it over our initial consultation and decided to take action. For the first time in 7 years I finally feel like I’m making some progress with my stomach problems. Dr. Herman is knowledgeable, personable, and has an office staff that is always a pleasure to talk to. I can’t thank him enough for all the help, and I would recommend him to anyone in the NYC area! I can ensure it’s worth it, even if you have to travel from a different borough.

Dr. Herman was my main doctor for a number of years. After a series of disappointments regarding his performance, I decided to search for another internist. Dr. Herman proved to be very moody and his reactions, receptions depended on his moods. As gay man, over time I began to feel his disapproval of my life style. This is not a doctor who is sensitive to differences. He also told me at one point that he never met any patient that had as many medical problems as I had. Such a statement is clearly unhelpful and insensitive. Dr. Herman is knowledgeable but his moods and inability to accept and comfort people as they are made him unacceptable as a physician.

This office is run extremely poorly. Based on information Dr. Hermans assistant gave my husband about his colonoscopy being fully covered by his insurance company, he scheduled the procedure and filled the necessary prescription, which cost $109. He was then told that there would be a $390 co-pay and cancelled the procedure. The pharmacy, by law, could not take back the prescription. When I spoke to Dr. Herman about reimbursement of the $109, due to the incorrect information his office gave my husband, he said his office was not responsible and that I shouldnt nickel and dime him. For ordinary people $109 is a lot of money. What a way to run a medical practice!

My experience at Dr Hermans office was exceptional. His front desk staff is courteous and pleasant. I did not have to wait long to see the doctor. He is very professional and answered all of my questions. I enjoyed his approach to problem solving as he included me in the decision making process. I truly recommend his practice.

IN ADDITION to the positive reviews here, this is another reason Id recommend Dr Herman to all. I am always anxious when visiting doctors. But since I was referred to him several years ago by a colleague, the experience has been easy and educational. Both equally important:*Easy: Dr Herman seems to know exactly what I was worried about and resolves my anxiety before I ask too many questions. When seeing him, I feel I am the only patient in the office to get all his attention.*Educational: I learn a good deal of medical knowledge from him that I am feeling more confident in leading a better and healthier life.Dr Herman is fun to talk to.

Dr. Herman is patient understanding. I feel that his skill level is supervior and he and his staff deliver great customer service. As uncomfortable as the emotional aspect of the procedure is, there is never anything but respect and understanding delivered by everyone in the office. The facilities are super clean and easy to get to.

Arrived early, completed my paper work while there was another stipend waiting. Delivered my papers and another lady walks in and is immediately brought to the back.Another lady walks in with her son and they are called to come to the back. I am still waiting to be seen an my appointment is at 11:00. I check in with reception and asked, how are people come in after me? The receptionist said she will check and returned saying I would be seen in 5 minutes. She failed to realized that the patients that were being seen were being seen on my time. It is now 11:50 and I am told 11:55 I will be seen. I waited a few minutes and decided that I would be leaving due to such an experience and feeling insulted by the lack of respect, integrity and professionalism. The behavior was rude and disrespectful.I will not be returning. As I am in the elevator leaving, the assistant runs after me to return to complete my appointment. I declined, since the patients arrived after me and were see immediately. I saw dr.herman before and was a patient for several years. I am so sorry that this experience has forced me to reconsider.
