Scarlett makes my hair dreams come true. I first went to her for a haircut ~3 years ago and she’s been my stylist ever since! Color is her specialty, especially fantasy colors, but she’s also an expert at natural colors and hair cutting. I’d never dyed my hair before and was nervous to ruin it, but Scarlett explained how she would do it in a way that keeps it healthy, and does an amazing job with mine. She talks you through what you want and explains exactly how she plans to achieve that with your hair. I mean... This is as good as it gets. I went into the salon with high expectations based on the reviews I read, and I was not disappointed. I came to Alexa to lighten up my hair a bit for the summer. I had a traumatizing experience with bleach a year and a half ago when a colorist over-processed my hair to the point where I had to cut it into a short bob, so it took a lot of trust for me to let someone put bleach on my head again. Alexa assured me that my hair would come out healthy, and she was right. It feels just as wonderful as it did before I got it done (thanks to their use of Olaplex and a low volume developer)! Alexa did EXACTLY what I wanted, it looks truly fantastic. I was giddy leaving the salon, and Im still giddy three days later. The fact that this salon is in my neighborhood is an absolute godsend. Also, everyone I interacted with at the salon was nice, which has certainly not been the case elsewhere. The salon was also clean, everything was done in a timely fashion, and the prices were reasonable. 5 stars all the way!

I was looking for a new place to get my hair done after moving. I’ve gone to Alexa twice now and both times she absolutely nailed the coloring process! I have naturally thick curly hair and she takes her time to ensure I get what I want but also maintain my hair health. She is absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back. Wow! I recently shaved my head and wanted a hand-painted look celebrate. I looked all over for someone with the color experience and artistic skill I required. My look is really important for my work so I couldnt take risks.When I finally found William I was ecstatic! He not only listened to the vibe I wanted but worked with me to design the look I was looking for. Hes so skilled with the brush and the color. Im blown away.AND hes lightning fast! He was so efficient with the bleach and the paint job -- Ive had plenty haircuts take longer. People wont stop complimenting me on the street. I love it so much :)

The Hair Artist Maria (IG: @desirebeautifulhair) did an amazing, jaw-dropping job with both that I have to go again. In the first hair look, which took 9 hours to achieve because Hair Stylist takes her time to limit damage to hair, I went from my dark natural color to a platinum blonde. This was such a beautiful risk to take and I would 100% do it again with Maria given that she is passionate for hair color and I trust her FULLY.My second look was a beautiful mix of blonde and brunette- a more natural look for my sisters wedding. This time, I asked Maria for something natural and I was sooooo impressed. Maria is a TALENTED HAIR ARTIST and she will not disappoint. I promise, you will leave so SATISFIED that you will want to visit West Vibe again. In addition, given that Maria is a busy hair artist I had William (IG: @willihairdesigner) style my hair to beautiful mermaid waves. He is a gifted artist, stylist .COVID: given our current environment, everyone wants to be safe. West Vibe goes above and beyond in achieving this. All Hair Stylists and techs wear masks and have shields. When you get to West vibe they check your temperature and ask you questions to make sure you are feeling well and have no COVID related symptoms.I am so happy that a place like this exists.

I initially went in because my old salon was closed due to COVID. It was in my neighborhood, I’d walked by often, and it was well rated online. I walked in on a whim and had an amazing hair cut with Scarlett. She asked me about my hair needs and help me decide what might work better for me even though it wasn’t exactly what I’d had in mind. I felt so great I went in a couple weeks later to bleach/dye my hair for the first time. My hair looks and feels great. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.

I live an hour and a half outside the city and have a dozen salons and barbers within 15 minutes from my home, but those places do not produce the quality and care I receive at West Vibe. I actually save money doing the 3 hour round-trip, and it isnt just for a haircut. Scarlett makes the trip worthwhile. She is knowledgeable about her styles and technique and is constantly working towards improving upon her skills and knowledge. Which makes me more comfortable talking about, and trying, new styles because she is honest about the time and maintenance for certain styles and so forth. She takes the time to know you and listen, and she remembers what you like and dont like. Even the salon itself is a great environment to be in, and had maintained a high standard of care and safety during the pandemic. Not just for their customers, but for their employee safety as well. It’s been a hard journey finding the perfect stylist /salon who understood exactly what I want and I found that here at West Vibe. I had brassy hair from a prior color job that lacked maintenance from my end. I didn’t know how bad it was until I came here and they SAVED my hair. Cesar knew exactly what I needed. The gloss made my hair not only shiny and healthy but it looked rejuvenated. The brassy color I had was now fixed, toned down and blended well with my natural hair color. Cesar cuts with precision every time I get a trim!Since coming here, my hair has been so much better. It’s thicker, growing and healthier than it’s ever been. I came here after highlighting my hair which turned out to be a nightmare. My hair was 4 different colors and I wanted blonde highlights. I came in to see Caesar and showed him what I wanted. My hair was such a mess that he said it would be a lot of work and depending on how damaged my hair was, I may not get the results I wanted. It was a lot of work for him and it came out perfect. Caesar really knows what he is doing and is very meticulous to ensure success. He is extremely friendly, as everyone in the salon is. I could not be happier.

I started going to West Vibe over 2 years ago. I had moved from NYC to NJ and the salon in Soho I was going to closed right as i was approaching my wedding, I was desperate to find a new place. I live right on the water in NJ so west vibe so actually closer to me than many NJ salons. I tried a few that weren’t a good match for me and then I came to West Vibe and Maria. She saved my hair and had me looking perfect for my wedding! Plus the whole vibe in the salon is way better then the other places I tried, I felt welcomed and relaxed. I’ve been going about every 4-6 weeks since! I like to be bright blonde (darkish brunette originally) but we’ve always played around with how bright depending on the season & my hair quality, she always listens to my wants & concerns, I usually do halo highlights or full depending on what I need at the time & always tape in extensions which she is incredible at. I’ve been very sick as well and I know she has gone above & beyond to accommodate me especially during covid and post and she offered the same accommodations for anyone who was uncomfortable or immunosuppressed like me. She is incredibly knowledgeable and will help you in any way she can like if you’re losing hair she’ll help you find the right products even if they don’t carry them! Because for her it’s about making sure you & your hair come first. This is the first time I’ve found a place to stay and I book my appointments in advance lol

I’ve been going to Scarlett for my hair care needs since 2015/2016 and followed her to West Vibe from another salon in 2020. Scarlett always listens to my hair needs, gives me honest feedback when I want to make changes to my hair, and completely gets my style when it comes to cut, color, and texture. Being a curly girl is hard when you want to go blonde or do fun fantasy colors because every other place seems to sacrifice the integrity of your hair, but not Scarlett! I’ve kept the texture of my curls 100% and it looks the healthiest it’s looked since probably my teens! I recently decided to add dark purple roots into dyed blonde hair. It’s been over a month, maybe almost two and though my hair doesn’t look even close to what it looked like when I first did it, it’s fading so beautifully and not a day goes by where someone doesn’t give me a compliment! The amount of compliments I get for my hair every day is unreal because it is honestly every single day, multiple times a day, and constantly throughout the day from young, old, and every walk of life! I just love this look and I love how Scarlett has helped me feel more and more like myself :).

The follow up before your appointment is thorough: reminder/confirmation via email, text reminder the day of. You also fill out an online form answering some screening questions for COVID-19. Upon arriving at the salon you call in to notify the front desk receptionist, just a heads up, you may wait for about five minutes or so to be checked in--theres setting up and sanitizing before the entrance of folks. Be patient, were living in unprecedented times and learning new ways of working!Cleaning and safety procedures are intricate-seats are sanitized and wiped consistently. Plexiglass is placed between every chair and cleaning station. Hand sanitizer is found in every station and youre asked to apply sanitizer prior to meeting your stylist. Contactless temperature testing is also done. Stylists wear a face mask plus a face shield.I requested a balayage process with Maria--shes my go-to for coloring and haircut. I do trust she does her work with positive intention and happiness. I showed her some ideas I had in mind and she gave me feedback on what would fit better for me and make me stand out some more. She is so gracious and full of joy--she checked in on me during the process of my hair processing. She gave me a trim and applied an essential oil treatment for hydration and a gloss. Daly rinsed my hair, shes also one of the sweetest! She gave me an amazing head massage too!The result is beyond impressive. I initially came in with a brunette looking color a little dry from the strands and the result (seen on pictures) is a huge glow up. Ive received awesome compliments. Thank you so much Maria for working magic! cant wait to be back!

Almost 11 months after my last haircut/color, I came to West Vibe for a partial highlight (to fix extremely grown-out balayage) and a haircut. Scarlett did a better job than I could have even imagined! She perfectly understood the look I was asking for and added some new highlights to give a gorgeous my natural hair but better effect. I felt completely safe with all of the COVID precautions taken at the salon, and appreciated the opportunity to come relax and be pampered. Very highly recommend!!

Daniella fixed everything I hated about it she put two different colors of toners and also highlighted the parts my last lady missed/didn’t do. I was in the process of changing salons in my neighborhood carefully reading reviews and even went personally to inquire about cost depending on the type of hair, type of haircut before I made an appointment. To my surprise I was told I would have to pay for a full service haircut even though I didn’t want a blow out. The website description does not clearly explain “express haircut” means that if a haircut is more than a certain amount of length it will be full price. The description is misleading and simply states the type of haircut (ex. Bob, pixie) is not included. I explained to the receptionist and stylist how was I to know the type of haircut, I just wanted it shorter that what the stylist indicated was a “trim” about an inch or just dead ends included in “express haircut “. After much frustration, I settled for a trim, then Viviana refuses to cut my hair!!! Wow!! So happy I went to my old salon Nico & Sam where I discovered a new stylist, Keith who spent 10 minutes consulting about my hair and not about the price!! The hair style exceeded my expectations!! Guess some things happen for a reason😊

I was visiting from Boston and was in need of an urgent hair cut and West Vibe Salon was able to fit me in on the same day. Right when I walked in they offered me wine and to take my coat. Everyone was very friendly; from the receptionist, to the ladies washing my hair, to my stylist. I was paired with Zara, who sat down with me in the waiting area to talk about what I was looking for. She was able to clearly comprehend the issues I was having with my hair and discussed the possible options she recommended. Zara fully succeeded in giving it the lightness, volume, and life it needed. If I am in the area again, I will definitely go back!

William dyed and cut my hair and has been doing so for a while now. I regularly get my hair dyed platinum blond almost white and he does a fantastic job every time. The dye job and his hair cuts come out looking exactly how I wanted them to every time. He is technically skilled but is also very creative and I would recommend him if you are looking to do something traditional or modern. Not only is he a talented hair dresser but he is also incredibly sociable and engaging making your time at the salon always enjoyable.The salon itself is gorgeous and modern. I usually am so nervous to get a haircut or colour but with Maria I know I’ll get something I’ll love. THE best hair salon in NYC. Confidently. I started getting my hair done with Maria while she was at a different salon and followed her to West Vibe. I loved her at her last salon, but the people who work at West Vibe are unmatched!!! Now I love getting my hair done even more because I actually have fun at the salon not to mention I trust maria COMPLETELY. We have done so many different things over the years Ive been seeing her (most recently going platinum), and she has never failed me once. Not to mention the value for the price is UNBEATABLE. I cant say enough good things and I tell everyoneeee about West Vibe!

This Was my first time at west vibe salón and I am very pleased with my new hair doo. John Bari is an expert at what he does. John Bari the hairstylist is very friendly and he knows what hair style and color that will look best on you!! And if you have a style in mind he does a terrific job of matching that style you want. Moved back to NYC a few months ago after 8 years away and was looking for a place to cut my hair. I searched online for good haircuts near me and found West Vibe Salon. I looked at their website and Instagram page and vibed with their staff and work quality. I decided to cut my hair with William, who was so sweet, and my haircut looks AMAZING! I loved my hair, my boyfriend loved it and so did my mom. They are all so nice and welcoming; definitely my new hair place!

I went because of the photos and I was super happy to try out a new place. & I really wanted Maria to do my hair but she sent her husband instead who bleached my hair 3 times. My hair was left orange. And it hasnt grown much since last year. I had to tone it myself to achieve the blonde I wanted. My hair was cut so short and the elasticity it was left with was so bad. My hair was DAMAGED. $600 For damaged hair. :( Very dissapointed. I have receipts in case there is no record

I will follow Maria wherever she goes! I am a Canadian living in Montreal, but try to visit NYC whenever possible to get my hair colored by Maria. She is an incredibly talented colorist; she brought my hair from a brunette with warm copper tones to a brunette with ashy highlights. Her new salon is warm, welcoming and the best place to get your hair colored! Maria and her team deserve a rave review.

I went in a week ago just as NYC started to reopen phase 2 during the pandemic and I was so impressed by the salons dedication to keeping it a sterile and safe environment for both their employees and clients. Everyone wore their face masks, face shields, cloaks and gloves. They sterilised everything that needed to be used on their clients and in between uses.I was greeted with a very warm and friendly face, Jordy, who gave me hand sanitizer and sat me down. From there, Elizabeth and Scarlett came to greet me and listened to what I wanted for the end result of my hair. I had lower back length green hair withawith 20cm of thick black Asian hair regrowth. I wanted to go to a lob for the Summer and change the black and green hair into a dark to light blue balayage. Definitely not the simplest of requests but the girls took on the challenge with confidence and they quashed any concerns. The entire process took almost 12 hours to complete as it was a delicate process and a waiting game but they kept the integrity of my hair and achieved colour brilliance. The result turned out even better than expected. The whole time I was there, the team kept me entertained, ensured my comfort and were just overall champs. I felt like they breathed new life into me after feeling so miserable with 3.5 months worth of quarantine hair.Before I went to the salon, I exchanged emails with Maria and she was a gem at helping me with my consultation and organising my appointment to ensure optimal success.The team is so great and I can say with confidence, Ive found my forever hair team!

First of, Liz was my stylist and what a great soul. She has expertise, personality and explains just what she is doing to be sure you are getting just what you ask for. The rest of the staff is wonderful. They are professional, fun and such a great group of people. The salon is clean, comfortable and stylish. When I come back to New York, I will be sure to return no question.

Maria is fantastic. She really listened to me (she repeated back what I said I wanted to make sure we were on the same page) and gave me everything I wanted--and then some! For example, I knew that short layers would help me with volume, so she did that, but she also cut underneath the layers to give me even more volume. I didnt even know that was possible! I dont always leave a salon feeling good about my hair, but I did this time. Ill be back!

I’ve been going to West Vibe for 10 years now! I get a cut and Color from Carlos. I wear my hair short, so I am here every 6 weeks or so, and have always had a good experience. I recommend this salon to everyone who lives or works in the neighborhood.

My experience from start to finish at West Vibe Salon was absolutely incredible. I called this morning - at 11 am - to see if they could squeeze me in for an appointment today. Sure enough, I got an 11:30 am appointment and walked over to the salon...I live in Hells Kitchen so it was only 10 minutes away from my apartment.When I got to the salon they set me up with Dorina for a quick consultation. I told her my frustrations with my ugly grown out bangs and super dry hair. She recommended a conditioning treatment and was sensitive to the fact that I didnt want to cut any length off my hair! She really listened to what I wanted and gave me one of the best haircuts Ive gotten in a very long time! She didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need and did an excellent job of listening and coming up with a good solution for my issues. I cannot wait to go back to her in a few months when I want to switch up my look for fall!!!

I have been going to Glamour for 4 years now and definitely dont see myself stopping any time soon! I have followed her from one salon to the next and every time she does my hair it comes out AMAZING! West Vibe Salon was so cute and everyone was so nice! I definitely recommend it!!

Denis does my cut and highlights and he is the best hair stylist ever! He is a perfectionist and does an immaculate job, every time. The salon has a laid back, friendly vibe and all of the staff are welcoming. Prices are more than reasonable given the quality, service & location.

I absolutely love West Vibe Salon. I first got my hair done with Maria at another salon and instantly fell in love with not only the way she did my hair, but her as a person. Which is why I followed her here and couldn’t be happier with my decision. Maria is a joy to be around. She takes the time to understand what you want and is completely honest. She tells you how it’s going to be- no “oops” after my hair is done like I’ve experienced in the past. Maria sees a vision and goes with it- walking you through the process. The Salon itself is very cute and you can see how much everyone is not only dedicated, but passionate about their work. Which is all you could ask for in a salon. Definitely would recommend everyone to get their hair done here.**Update: I was in need of a change with Summer around the corner- so of course I book with my favorite hair stylist. Once again, she always amazes me! Maria is the absolute best when it comes to styling and coloring hair. I messaged Maria asking for her option as I was not sure how my balayage would look with a shorter cut. She automatically knew what she thought would be best and sent me a picture of her vision. The ending results were amazing and I always make the right decision with putting my hair needs in the hands of Maria.
