The woman who cut my hair was very nice. The experience was incredibly pleasant at first. But she just kept cutting and cutting and cutting…. And not really making it look any better. Then one side did not look good and she said “it’ll look better shorter” so what am I left with that just making it shorter! She did that and now I look like a boy. It’s really bad and I’m getting it done again TODAY. I’m literally on the way to another salon. I didn’t want her to feel bad but I feel AWFUL. I look hideous (to me). I showed her photos of MYSELF from when I had this cut before. So it wasn’t unrealistic. She said “you’ll get so many compliments”, my boyfriend literally said “we can buy you a hat.” I’m freaking mortified… I don’t know if I want to ask for a refund but I’m sooooo dissatisfied.

Albert is a true artist. I am at the point when the grey hair starts outnumbering the black one and I made the decision not to use paint due to potential harm to the hair and also because I just dont see myself doing it. So I asked Albert to find an alternative solution and he definitely did. Just by cutting the hair the right way, he literally shaved off years off my age - I was receiving compliments for the rest of that day and someone told me that day I looked at least 10 years younger! Albert definitely knows his staff!

I came in to get my roots touched up. I do have dark hair, and usually require a double process, however Ive never had an experience like this. Over 50% of my hair has fallen out, I have huge bald patches, and had burn marks all over face and scalp. My hair turned out a very weird orange/gray. It will take years to repair what was done, and I know its just hair, but Im devastated. I never write bad reviews, and the woman who did my hair was truly kind, but I just dont want this to happen to anyone else.

It was the worse experience! Too expensive to destroy my hair! $450 for highlights and the color it’s terrible blond almost orange and my hair is completely burned! They don’t know what they doing.

Was not disappointed with the results - am always welcomed by name when I walk in now. I am also always asked how my last haircut was and what I am looking for with this new cut. Arjan is the best barber Ive had. Ive been seeing him for about 4 years and every visit hes polite, professional, and wonderful. Definitely recommend his chair and this studio if youre looking for a great and affordable cut.

So disappointed. I paid $400 in total for a haircut + balayage and I got the exact opposite of what I asked for. I am a brunette and now I got blonde strands in the top of my head... She tried to fix it but it ended up damaging my hair even more and not really resolving the problem. I spent so much money just for destroying my hair. I don’t recommend at all this hairdresser.

Argen is the absolute best. I started going to him about 7 years ago now and I cant say enough great things about him or the hair cuts he gives. I even moved about 3 hours away at one point and still aligned my trips into the city with getting a hair cut with him. Ive tried to go to other barbers that were closer to where I live now, but the hair cut is just not as good. The best alternative Ive found still looks like two weeks after Ive gotten it cut with Argen.

Been getting my cuts here for ten years now. Cut quality and skills has not changed. Great friendly customer service, relaxed environment, efficient time. Be sure to ask for Albert if you want a clean fade or classic scissor cut. I recommend to all, just flew back from work in east Africa and theres no where else Id go to get my trim.

Color and cut with Michel yesterday. Have been many times with different stylists at Tribeca (formerly Mikes). What a great experience at Tribeca Hair Studio. Relaxing, professional and really reasonable cost for a good salon. They do a great job on womens hair. Ive tried others in the neighborhood and they are fussy and expensive and frankly a little pretentious. Try them, you will be pleasantly surprised!

I didnt get the color that I wanted. Simply because they ran out of it. I asked for platinum but I ended up with blonde, and when I told the hairstylist that it was not the color that I wanted, she used strong bleach to make my hair lighter which damaged my hair. I heard her telling the owner that she wanted the color P9, he told her that they didnt have it, so she used strong bleach instead. Also i showed the hairstylist a picture for what I want, she said its balayage while I think its ombre. So, I neither got the color nor the style that I wanted. Very disappointed. I spent almost 400$ for a result I hate.

My experience at this place was unpleasant. I am new to the city and was already anxious about going to a new hairstylist after having my go to girl for many years. But based on the positive reviews, I picked this place.I made an appointment and specifically asked for an artist who is confident/comfortable with short-medium hair. I was told he is great. I walked in on time and I was handed over to a female artist - who didnt understand any English or what I wanted with my hair cut. I should have walked out or asked for someone else - big mistake I made, I will admit. I tried extra hard to convey what exactly I wanted with multiple pictures and scenarios. She washed my hair - which was the most un-relaxing experience. She was rough and harsh with my hair. She started cutting my hair - basically made sure they were cut in a straight line, kind of like how my 3 year olds haircut would look like: no texturing, no layers, no alignment, no thinning out, etc. She spent no more than 20 minutes. This was the worst haircut I have EVER had. Whats worse is I ended up paying a lot more than the estimate provided, when I made the appointment. I walked out disappointed.A couple of days later, I decided to call them again to see if they could fix it, they let me make an appointment. I walked in on time, I had to wait close to an hour before my fix-up artist was available. I told him specifically what I did not like about the haircut with pictures of my own hair post haircut. He started by saying how he is the best and extremely busy. He tried to do what he could in 5 minutes as this was to be without any charge. In the end, I still have an awful haircut. I am waiting to grow it out before I try another place.Overall, this place is not your salon, though pricey. It was unorganized, chaotic and extremely rushed. Needless to say, I personally didnt get paired up with capable artists. I will not be going back. If you choose to give this place a try, I hope you have a better experience.

I came in as a walk in client for a cut and blow dry a few months. The lady at the front desk was very kind and welcoming. When I sat down, Irma was the woman who was going to do my hair and was also very kind. I spoke about how i would love to get Keratin done but didnt think there would be time. She told me she could get it done quickly but still effeciently, and to my surprise she did. She actually did and AMAZING job and told me about every step she was doing. I absolutely LOVED my hair. She did a great cut and wonderful job with the keratin. Ive had keratin done before and it doesnt always last, but Irma did it well and it really lasted. I will DEFINITELY be going back there. It was a reasonable price and wonderful service. The atmosphere is great too, very friendly stylists.

Overcharged me for a hair cut. Totally not worth it. Waste of $67 for a trim. The lady who gave me a cut was impolite as well. I could have gotten the same cut or even better for $20. Never going to go there.

I have been there with my hair completely messed up, and they fixed it perfectly, fast and unexpensively. I was really satusfied eith this place. (Try to go on sunday or at times when there is not many people or you will have to wait)

After reading all the good reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try a little over a month ago.I needed to cover some botched highlights (very few strands). I showed the lady exactly what I wanted and told her not to touch my roots (no highlights there) with any color since I had about 4 inches that were my natural color that I wanted to keep. The goal was to cover those bad highlights and make them match my hair color. I also have ombre in the bottom so I told her it is ok if the color is a little lighter. Next thing I know, she is putting hair dye on my hair starting at the roots. I stopped her to let her know I do not want my roots to be touched and that is she absolutely must do it, it better be my hair color because I do not want to see any variation when my hair starts growing. Talk about listening to what the customer requests. She stops and went to the back to make the color darker. When she was done, I had a hideous red reflection on my hair on the root area and worse, the rest of the hair was just black (because she did that after making the color darker). I told her right then and there that I hated it and that she should not have touched my roots. She kept playing it as what red? I do not see any red, it looks beautiful. OK. This is my face and my hair, I think I can see when something looks off, and it did. I went home that day and blow dried my hair, and I could still see the redness at the roots and blackness on half of most my hair.  The next day I went back and I was not happy at all. I showed her the canvas of awfulness she created, and she agreed to fix it. She died my hair AGAIN with what I later found out was a semi permanent color. The result looked better, still not my hair color that she messed up, but it was acceptable, I did not see the redness anymore. A few days later, I washed my hair, and lo and behold, the redness is back in full force, only at the root up to 4 inches. The color she used the second day washed off completely. At this point, I decided not to go back and I have been hating my hair and my face since. This was over a month ago, maybe even two months, my hair is growing now and you see this ugly mix of colors. Dark brown roots (1.5 cm), red reflection for about 10 cm and then black ends at the crown (the lower bottom is ombre).I am sure this place has made many happy customers, but please if the hair stylist does not understand what you want either because of language barriers or because of that persons idea of what red or no red means, do not let them touch your hair if you feel they do not get it. Blaming things on mis-communication after the fact is an insult and usually it is too late. Again, make sure your stylist understands you. Ask them to first TELL you what they are going to do before letting them do it. It is easy for stylists to let their work get in their heads and think they know it all. At the end of the day, you are out a few hundred bucks and your hair is damaged to a point of no return. In my case, I had been letting my hair grow for over a year and making sure not to touch my roots (which is why I like ombre), and in 1 hour, this woman ruins it all.

Too expensive for a 5 min haircut.. I couldnt find my layers at all.

I went to get root color touch-up. Their website says touch-up is $85, and the hair designer didnt discuss pricing with me before. At the time I paid, it came out $126 and she said my touch up length was long. I dont know about their standard length, it might be 1/4 longer than the standard length? They shouldve told me before they started.

Was 20 min after my appointment they sat another person so I left. Highly unrecommended.
