My hair was natural I wanted a treatment where it would become more manageable but not completely straight as if a relaxer was in it she used a product that came in a bottle with no name on it she bragged about her self and degraded other salons while applying the treatment to my hair she blew my hair out after applying the product and my hair look like you pulled a straightening comb through natural hair the style was old fashion nothing fantastic something I could have done at home a week later my hair begin to fall out to the point where certain areas the hair was almost bald when I came back to her showing the broken ends and the damage she said because I was supposed to come back within a week and get a second treatment which she never detailed at our first initial meeting the price was too high for me to lose my hair . Her personality leaves something less to be desired no professionalism she wasn’t on time I came back a few times to allow her to get my hair back on track and unfortunately I had to pay but I was desperate and I tried because she was black and a sister but honey when I tell you when I walk past that place I feel disdain in my soul it’s unfortunate that our people in our neighborhood hoodwink and bamboozle us all for the love of money I will not recommend nor will I be returning to this place again

The owner is extremely unprofessional. She can try to testify to having a great track record with customers all she like, but the truth is the truth. She is vulgar, loud, short tempered, and angry with people in her beauty salon. I refuse to get my hair done by her ever again. I went to her a few times and to be perfectly honest I think I will save my money for now on. I would go else where for now on and would recommend others to do the same. Plus she is extremely prejudice. How can you serve diverse populations if all you do is speak hate? I could not believe some of the hateful speech she spreads against others. And she is extremely comfortable in doing it. When I heard her talk like that I could not believe it. So not only are her hair services below average, her attitude is unprofessional, and her speech is hateful and vulgar. No one should take the risk of ever stepping a foot in her salon.

I’ve been going to Ruth for my hair care for a few years and she’s exactly what myself and my hair needed. She really takes pride in her work and she loves too do hair. She isn’t your average hair stylist either she is very experienced and knowledgeable. Ruth taught me things about my hair I had no idea about. Being at her shops makes you feel at home. She is pleasant,welcoming honest individual. At this shop you are free worries and are in very great care. I’m very happy I met Ruth and let be my hair stylish. I have healthy, strong and thick natural hair.

Love this salon! The best natural salon and stylist. Ruth is the only stylist I know that does an organic keratin treatment/Keragreen. This thing is magic because it literally smooths and silkens my hair like nothing else. After I get the treatment, I can really tell the difference. It helps a ton with moisture and detangling time…45 minutes down to 10 minutes. The other products she uses are also high quality and top notch.I have long, fine, slightly dry 3c 4a hair prone to tangling and breakage, so management is NOT easy. I keep my hair between bra strap and waist length. Ruth respects my preferences for hair length, style, color, and whether I choose to alternate between being relaxed/texturized or having natural hair and doesn’t enforce her own preferences on the way I wear MY hair unless I ask. She just makes it look amazing every time.Besides the keratin treatment, she’s done my color, trims , texturizer (when I had one), Olaplex, and some specialty treatments from Japan and Italy. She asks a ton of questions and then makes recommendations on whether my hair is dry, tangling, shedding, etc. The most important thing is that she LISTENS and is accommodating.The salon is comfortable, clean, quiet (not a lot of riff-raff or noise), and somewhat private/discrete. There’s also free wi-fi for you to work while sitting under the dryer on the rare occasion you have to wait 10 minutes, but usually you’ll be seen right away. She’s also very respectful of your privacy and isn’t pushy about recording or taking pics without your permission like some stylists.She is the most knowledgeable, patient, skilled, and best natural hair stylist. My hair is thriving because of Ruth.

Been going to Ms. Ruth for some time now. Being my mothers friend she helped my hair grow when I was a child. As an adult going natural and battling mixed 4c hair with bleach coloring... lots of my hair fell out and was very damaged. We started an 2 week treatment plan for my natural hair and within 2 months the texture changed and 6 months I have growth down my back. Shes a hair God! Love her.

Customers please beware of Ruth being under the influence of alcohol, smelling strongly of it and then getting belligerent. Last Saturday Ruth belligered and disrespected a young lady after she expressed lack of satisfaction with services provided. Not only was her hair not done properly but she called this young lady a thief and REFUSED to provide a shower cap since it was raining. She called her a thief and made reference to calling the police and even cutting her hair off after being PAID IN FULL ( its either my money or your treatment). The display in lack of professionalism and couth was disgusting. Just know that subpar services are being provided and definitely do not expect exceptional service.This young lady was my sister, fyi.
