I’ve been 2 times to Drybar in two different locations. Both times they did a very good job with my hair. Featured in the photos here is the lovely Maceo who took care of my hair (you can see the outcome at one of the photos here). They will offer you complementary drinks while you wait but be sure to arrive on midweek otherwise the place can be pretty crowded. Also, to avoid long waiting time you should schedule appointments online. Or try to arrive as a walk-in on midweek.

The staff were really kind, professional and talented. Party vibe on the day I went in due to a promotion but they delivered on the product and the pricing is pretty amazing for the city and a consistent experience. Would definitely go back. No hard sell on products which I particularly appreciated.

I had a fantastic experience here. My stylist did a great job- I wish I knew her name! My hair looked awesome and I didn’t wash it for 5 days. I need to get her name so I can have her do it every year!

Attentive staff and clean facilities, plenty of room to see clients without feeling overcrowded. Many thanks to everyone whos working hard to keep this place running smoothly and in impeccable condition. This is a below ground salon so I was pleasantly surprised by the bright and comfortable surroundings. Convenient location in Midtown is a bonus.

I loved the way my hair looked and the stylist was great. I told her my ideas and she kindly said no we cant do it that way and explained how to make it better for my hair type. I would rather a stylist say that then me pay for an expensive service and it not look good.

I go here every year to get my hair done for the same Gala event and each year I am more and more disappointed. Yesterday was the last time I will have my hair done here. I had an appointment but they were over booked and they didnt have a place to do my hair. I had to sit on one of the bar stool seats in the shop area. It was incredibly uncomfortable. My hairdresser was nice enough but she made no effort to make the situation better. Im 7 months pregnant and sitting on a bar stool was not acceptable. I eventually had to ask her to stop and see if anything had opened up. Come to find out after all of this time like 5 stations had opened up. In the end my hair did not look fantastic, not that it mattered because within an hour it didnt look like I had gotten my hair done at all. A complete waste of money. I am thinking this may have to do with poor quality product rather than my hair dresser. And she is the only reason I am giving this is review two stars. I dont feel like this is her fault, as I have watched the quality of my experience deteriorate each year.

Very inconsistent. Have been going here for years because I keep receiving gift cards as gifts. I would say 1 out of every 4 stylists are good but they don’t last. There is a high turnaround and there are always different stylists every time I go. My last experience, the stylist was extremely inexperienced and took a long time. I also notice they use way too much heat with the styling tools and they will fry your hair if you go on a consistent basis. Some of the stylists are sloppy looking as well (like they just rolled out of bed) and the whole vibe has gone downhill. I would not recommend.

Was skeptical based off of reviews. However, I have never had a bad dry bar experience. I arrived 45 minutes before my appointment and was greeted promptly. They took me before my appointment time. Natalie styled my hair as desired. Very pleased with the results.

Never again! The girl doing my hair was sweet enough but she was yanking at my hair and head so much. The heat from the blow dryer was so intense that it felt like it was scorching my hair. Between the yanking and the heat, my scalp still hurts hours later. No effort was made to tame any flyaways, and I walked out with the baby hairs on the top of my head sticking straight up. The style is just ok, but not what I asked for and not worth the price to me.

I was staying at the Parker hotel and was super excited about drybar being In the building. Made an appointment the morning of before they opened through the app for 9 am. When I got there on time, there was also 6 other women who I am going to assume that also had 9 am appointments cause they took them all before me. I hope they were not walk-ins. Some women had to also wait at least 30 min and I waited 45 minutes before I ran out of time because I had an event to attend at 11am. I was the last one of the bunch waiting. This location does not live up to the standard of other drybars I’ve been to. Don’t know if it’s an overbooking or under staffing issue but I was really looking forward to getting done in 45 min versus sitting for 45 min. Big disappointment. Going to be in pictures for my sons bday looking like I rolled out of bed.

Very rude place. It used to be very very good long time ago but now they hired incompetent and unprofessional people. Many times the same day they did my hair it would fall down. Stylists would just leave in the middle of doing my blow out as they didn’t know what they were doing. Horrible experience

This location was chaos. I was called back by my stylist who was holding the coffee they offered me. He took me back only to find there were no open seats. They were overbooked. I had made my appointment weeks ago. I never got my coffee, he aggressively washed my hair and sped through the process of drying me. He stole a hair from another stylist and then they fought with each other about it while he did my hair. It looks okay but not worth the money at all.

I asked them to do an updo and they charged 99 dollars which is fine but the lady made me look old and ratted my hair. I showed her pictures of people with short hair and updo for example. People are really nice but not worth it. I can do my own hair, and in this case I sooo regret going and wasting my money for something I could have just done myself and better. I went to a Gala and was embarrassed the whole night. I would suggest trying it out before ever making a decision to get your hair done before something important or else you could find yourself in my position. A bad hair do, an embarrassing evening, and not looking on point, plus horrible pictures!

The staff seemed a bit alarmed when I first arrived but they got used to my presence as the appointment went on. I wasn’t offered a neck towel when they were washing my hair and as a result I got soaked. I was pleased with my blowout but feel there’s some unconscious bias education needed.

Ive been here a few times and both times have been pretty lackluster in terms of the organization of the location itself and the timeliness of appointments. The staff seems to wish they were anywhere else but here and it shows with a number of disgruntled customers at any time you visit.

Updating my review, I chose to give this place another chance. Within 2 minutes of walking outside it looked like of never gotten a blow out. My hair was covered in frizz and curled right back up. Tried to call customer service to see if they could fix it but they werent able to get in touch with the shop. Skip this location. They do great blowouts but almost every time Ive been here they are at least 15 minutes behind. The worst part is that they dont tell you do that you can plan accordingly.

The only star is because my stylist was nice. Went yesterday (first time ever) and everything was great, I got the cosmo style and looked great but 10 minutes after I left I walked into sephora and my hair was horrible, almost flat and I looked like someone thrown a bucket of water on my hair. Very disappointed.

I was in NYC with my sister in law for a girl’s weekend and decided to treat us to the DryBar before going out this past Saturday night. I have been using the products for a while and was really looking forward to going for the first time (there isn’t one near me in upstate). Unfortunately, the text confirmation sent us to the wrong location in midtown. The woman at the counter wasn’t overly helpful and wouldn’t let us just get the blowouts done there and insisted we had to go to the other location. I asked if she could call to let them know we were coming and would be late and she said they had no phones, so no. So my sister in law and I raced “down the street” to the other location and ended up being 15 mins late. Our appointment was for 3 and I was taken at 3:40 and she was taken at 3:55. The entire time we were waiting we kept being told just one more mintue. They never once offered us anything to drink - water, wine, champagne - though I saw several others enjoying drinks. It was hard to understand my stylist and I ended up disliking my hair and changing it when we got back to the hotel. My sister in laws hair came out great but her stylist wasn’t very friendly. Overall this was the worst thing we did all weekend - certainly NOT worth the $100 I ended up spending. What was supposed to be one of the highlights of the weekend ended up being the biggest disappointment. I actually apologized to my sister in law. Something that not a single one of the people we encountered there did.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Drybar is literally the absolute WORST. They gave me a stylist 20 minutes late. (Always late). i asked to have my hair done with a brush curl/pin curl, very basic, and the stylist refused saying he would onlyDo curling iron. What kind of stylist does that? Ps I had seen him do pin curls on the client that was before me so he clearly knew how. They passed me along to a 2nd stylist , 30 min after my appt slot at this point, who also didnt know how/wouldnt to do brush curl or pin curl. Their staff has completely deteriorated - why are people working at a blow dry bar that cant/wont do basic styling? I actually exclusively use glamsquad, and quit drybar 3 years ago, but had an hour to kill before dinner and thot id get a quick service. Unfortunately since the team was 30 minutes late and incompetent, i had to leave for my dinner.I will never come again. It is the worst service and most inexperienced staff.Following up here the next day: i see an american express charge of $20 from drybar as a no show!! Are you kidding me?! I called drybar to dispute this charge and they said we will call you back in 24-48 hours for feedback now i have wasted 30 minutes at the salon, another 15 min on the phone with drybar only to still have this outstanding charge. I now have to call american express to reject the charge which will be more time out of my day spent on this.Colossal waste of time and efforts. Dry bar is the absolute worst, specifically the parker meridien location. Please do not go here.Ps. I am 8 months pregnant , and it took the team 20 minutes to get me a glass of water. How about that for service.

I personally did not have my hair styled here but three of my friends did. I went to give them bfast and coffees as they were preparing for their wedding (bride, mother of bride & bridesmaide) and was greeted by a very mean lady at the front. The hair came out ok. One of my friends was going to be charged $90 for two small braids - even though she had entered with her hair fully done. It was just mind boggling.MaryYourSoul(dot)com

Thank you to everyone at Drybar, especially Stephanie and Derrick!I checked reviews and Derrick was highly recommended as skilled in handling ethnic hair (asian/african-american mix i am). I agree and must add Stephanie to the recommended stylist list!Stephanie started on my hair tackling the tangles in my uncombed mane with patience and ease, and lots of conditioner. Then I got bad . cramps halfway through the blowout and had to rest for an hour, lol. Everyone was so caring and checked on me while I rested near the bathroom. (Oh to be female.) Thanks so much, everyone!!Once I was back to normal, Derrick finished my blowout & Cosmo-styled it.Love their menu of styles! And menu of complimentary drinks. (I had a peppermint tea, which they insisted on keeping hot. Such good service!)I usually get a blowout once a year, but I want to go back sooner, esp. since theyre so friendly and caring on top of their gr8 styling skilz.See you again, Drybar!^ _ ^

Good hotel but aging. The rooms are clean, spacious and in good condition, its just that the style is getting dated. Ideally located very close to central park and 5th avenue. The pool is in no way masked with a very nice view, but a bit small. The Burger restaurant is also a must see, a good burger for dinner.
