Im giving them one star because I cant give them zero stars. The staff is very unprofessional, rude and seems to enjoy being as unhelpful as possible. I went to a lot of trouble to get the VA to authorize my care here and then wasnt even able to receive it because Dr. Groeper told me one thing and wrote something totally different in her notes. So the staff would not allow me to schedule my appointments for hyperbarics. The VA paid for me to be in the hospital at Banner Baywood for almost a week to receive IV antibiotics and have my leg wound cleaned under anesthesia in the operating room with the plan that I was going to do hyperbaric oxygen treatment immediately after I was discharged to make sure my wound finished healing. Dr. Groeper said she would put me in the hyperbaric chamber as long as VA would pay for it, and I got VA to authorize payment which was very difficult. but our tax dollars paid for that hospital stay for no reason because dr. Groeper stopped me from being able to do the hyperbarics when I got out, which meant my wound did not finish healing and the infection came back even worse than it was before. So then I jumped through some more hoops to make sure that everything was straight with the VA and my doctor scheduled me to be in the hospital for another week to go through the same procedure again having my wound cleaned in the operating room and then spending a week on IV antibiotics. again the plan was for me to do hyperbarics when I got out. But Dr. Groeper sabotaged it a second time too. So now the VA has spent our tax dollars to put me in Banner Baywood hospital for a week on two separate occasions and take me into the operating room twice to clean my wound within a 4 month period, and it was all for nothing because Dr Groeper didnt let me do the hyperbarics when I got done and my wound/infection returned right away both times. Several of my doctors told me she is an angry person and has issues. I couldnt agree more. my podiatrist, my pain management doctor, my primary care doctor and my cardiologist all thought I should do hyperbaric treatment, but dr. Groeper decided I couldnt do it because I hadnt tried compression yet, which my doctors agreed was not something that I should do since I have a severe nerve problem and therefore the pain from compression would escalate my blood pressure to dangerous levels. My cardiologist even called Dr. Groeper to explain the nerve problem in my leg combined with the wound was causing blood pressure problems to the point that it was dangerous and he really wanted me to do the hyperbaric treatment. when you have a heart doctor involved with a wound on your leg you know its bad, but Dr. Groeper didnt care. I think shes on a power trip and she likes to refuse treatment to as many people as possible from what I can tell. Ive been admitted to Banner Baywood medical center about a dozen times for approximately a week each time over the past 3 years. They used to be okay but lately they are terrible overall. They have almost killed me multiple times due to medication and other errors. I will never go there again. in fact its so bad I would rather go to the Phoenix VA Hospital which is a one-star facility.

The wound clinic has done an outstanding job for me. I had a wound that hadnt healed in about three months so I went to two doctors, an emergency clinic and then to the hospital emergency room to see what could be done. No one knew what to do and I was referred to Banner Baywood Wound Clinic. There I was seen by Dr. McQuaig who empathized with my plight, began a series of bandaging treatments and called Dr. Roeder in to collaborate on the procedures. I was extremely impressed with both doctors and the entire support staff as well as the nurses who attended to my case. Very efficiently and effectively run group of caretakers that I would recommend to anyone needing this kind of help.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming toward my mom and me. They seemed to know what they were doing; they wasted no time, getting us in and out, and explaining things. As soon as orders were in, they reached out to me to make a first time appointment. They gave detailed instructions about how I was to find the place and what to expect. Nothing drastic occurred with the beginning process that they hadn’t went over with me already. The outpatient staff was just as pleasant. There was a mild mix up with someone having the same first name as my mom (might need to start calling out last names too?), but thankfully, that cleared up not too far into our check in process. Not sure I can say the same for the other family—they had started changing info for insurance. But they were very apologetic.

This place offers a Doctor who used to do gastric bypass surgury on a stool with wheels...which facilitates production...who turns patients as quickly as a drive thru at McDonalds if you ask him if u progressed in healing...he says, I dunno. Dont have time for that! His Nurse resembles Nurse Ratchet from One Flee Over the Cookoos Nest...shes lazy and vindictive if you challenge her...its hard to tell where she starts and the Doctor does, if u know what I mean...their care is based on your insurance...if on an HMO...expect treatment substandard at best...they will milk you for months...needless to say...heed me on this...if you doubt my assesment...test it and see!!! May u find healing....

Ive yet to encounter service from them. I have spent 3 days on the phone being transferred over and over. Everyone I spoke with was either extremely rude or had no clue where to transfer my call. Very unprofessional over the phone. Not sure this is where I want to take my mother.... :(
