I love Nebraska Medicine on campus! I love how easy it is to make appointments and how the doctors and staff don’t give off the vibes that they are judging you! The people at the pharmacy are also very nice and I think many UNL students don’t realize that they can have their prescription sent there. Not to mention how they give out flu shots for students who are still 18.

I will not be coming here again. This was my second time coming to the health center. I had a sore throat, congestion, shortness of breath and my ears were hurting. I had been tested the day prior for COVID and it was negative so i made an appointment. When i got there i told the dr. my symptoms and she didn’t even look in my nose ears or throat she just proceeded to swab me for COVID and told me that I had a cold and to go home and take tylenol. Of course my results came back negative like I told her they would and 3 days later I was in so much pain i had to go to urgent care. Well I had a severe sinus infection, a double ear infection, and bronchitis. I was immediately put on a steroid pack and antibiotics. Frustrating that i caught it in time and wasn’t even evaluated properly. All of my pain could’ve been avoided. I would not waste your time coming here

You pay student fees for this place and for the most part you have no access to it, and if you do need to get help they charge you more than if you had just went to urgent care. Basically a UNL scam.

Throughout a majority of the semester I was a physical therapy patient at the Health Center. Ever day I attended physical therapy I was treated well and professionally. After a few months I am now pain free and able to begin resuming all of my previous physical activities. I am incredibly pleased with the physical therapy program and would highly recommend students and faculty utilize this program if they are in need of physical therapy.

I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff at UNL’s Health Center, and I go there frequently. I have two people in particular who I see consistently and they are always kind and caring. The front desk staff are also always welcoming. The online system allows me to see test results easily, and I can see my appointments and medical history, and pay my bills efficiently. Not to mention, the new health center building is very nice, modern, and always super clean and safe-feeling.

I would not recommend this place. The old health center used to provide good services and professional help; some doctors retired/left, rules changed in these few years, everything is different. Now this place is one of the universitys money trees. They restricted rules so no one can find an insurance plan to replace the expensive school insurance, and students receive worse services.

I have never had other than a great experience with the front desk check in and laboratory services. Skilled phlebotomy by the clinical laboratory scientists and confidence in the testing performed on site as well as that forwarded to the laboratory at NeMed in Omaha keeps me returning instead of using my PCP lab.

The medical staff has always been professional and knowledgeable, and Ive rarely had issues with the pharmacy. Based exclusively on the medical services provided, I would recommend this facility. However, the billing team fails to include the provider ID number for the bill to be charged properly as in network through insurance. I have only ever seen in network providers, but without the ID provided the insurance company has to charge it as out of network, meaning I get bills and holds put on my account because the university is claiming additional money from me that isnt actually owed. Also note that eye appointments here only accept university health insurance.Ive been going here for 3 years and cant justify it anymore. Each appointment results in hours wasted on the phone stating exactly what needs fixed for insurance, and staff will tell you it will get taken care of, but it never does. The waste of time an energy to battle over their mistakes each and every time by far outweighs the convenience. I only recommend going here if you have student insurance (though I dont know if it is any better with student insurance) or if you need a convenient pharmacy.

I was charged $250 for meeting a physical assistant (not even a doctor) as I had to get a new primary practitioner for refilling my medicine! On top of that the PA put request for the refill only for two months even when I told her that I have been taking this medicine for over 3 years and need it every month for my migraine. What a convenient way to make $250 every two months just for ordering the pharmacy to dispense a simple migraine medicine! I cant believe how they run this place which is for students! Even my insurance company was surprised to see the charge! AVOID THIS PLACE!

Went in for a possible ear infections after noticing sudden ear pain, popping, and other symptoms. Was told by someone that I had an ear infection without the infection (which makes literally no sense). Told to take over-the-counter pain killers, allergy medicine, and Sudafed. Misdiagnosed my ear infection completely. I know I have a lot of scarring from previous ear infections, but still. I went to urgent care and was told I had an ear infection with a sore throat from drainage. Now have medication to help. I would not recommend this place. As a student of UNL, Ive heard other stories about students going and being told they dont have something that they really do have. They are only there to get your money and not treat you properly. Its sad because UNL is known for being a top notch school, yet they dont fix this issue.

I wish I could give negative scores. They concentrate on digging money out of students pocket and insurance. Here are two instances:1- They charged $450+ my insurance for a dental test and cleaning. Then they referred me to an outside clinic for some advance stuff that would cost me $500 out of packet. I visited another dentist and turned out those fancy stuff were not needed at all. Yes I still have my teeth and nothing has happened to them.2- The referred me to an outside ultrasound imaging center. I called in advanced and realized I have to pay $400 ish out of my packet after insurance. I changed the place and paid zero. Funny thing was that they asked several times why I want to change the place.

I was told when setting my appointment that I could arrive late due to having to walk across campus from class, but when I arrived was told that I actually needed to check it twenty minutes before my appointment started, so I couldnt be seen. Perhaps their doctors are great, but that doesnt really matter if you cant get in because they gave you misleading information.

Visited the health center on two occasions. Both times, they tested me for an ailment that I didn’t have, and then told me that they were unsure of what was wrong and that I should get some rest. This happened two weeks in a row. On top of this, Staff are (for the most part) very rude, and don’t like to inform you on what they’re doing. This isn’t always true, as some staff (mostly receptionists) are very kind. All-in-all however, it’s well worth the trip to seek other treatment options off campus.

They can literally cancel your appointment without speaking to you, changing your referred doctor without telling you----and when you try to make things right, they dont let you. The nurses (Lucy and Dawn from rheumatology department) stop patient from seeing the doctor, and they deny their inappropriate behavior. I said that I would file a complaint because this is too much, they feel absolutely no worry about it---no one can control them, they are the boss! They dont need to respect a patient especially you are an alien student.I have been put down on wrong appointments twice as the receptionists cannot tell the difference between a new patient and the return one, I was forced to reschedule for three times. Then the nurses blame all the fault on me, made a lie saying that I cancelled for seven times---when I asked them to read out the rescheduling records (which are only three times) they started yelling at me ----use other peoples mistake to attack me. Very abusive behavior.

Does not deserve any stars. Gone to the CAPS program a few times to help with social anxiety and get an ssd so I can be helped in my classes, however my therapist, who told me several times that she would, NEVER wrote me a rec letter so that I could use the student help program and be able to survive school. The therapists are mean and selfish and gives zero corals for anyone.I came in once wanting to hang myself, because they said they could take me in a time of crisis, instead I was denied help because every therapist was doing paperwork at 10am...every single one. So instead I went home and never returned. Dont trust these people, the only thing this health center can do is pharmacy, but besides that NEVER come here for help.

I came in concerned about a possible ear infection. They diagnosed with me with the wrong condition. After 24 hours, it turned out that I had a double ear infection and my ear drum ruptured. They did not even send in a doctor to look at my ear, just a nurse.Edit: Upon coming here for a second emergent health concern in the same year, this second time around the front desk assistant told me I didn’t have insurance. I clearly did as I had been to another doctor’s appointment at UNMC only a week prior and my insurance worked just fine. Regardless, I was given a very negative and condescending attitude when I asked the assistant to cancel my appointment since my insurance wouldn’t pay for it.Please stay away from this location at all costs!

I would give one star for the front desk for taking my call and react to my request. However, the diagnosis made by the doctor is not completely accurate. They are not helpful to my illness and I ended up consulting a doctor there for twice and got charged for twice. I ended up spending over $200 and time healed me instead of the medicines prescribed by the doctor.

I used the University Health Center for the reason of getting prescriptions filled. Every time they would take multiple weeks to get the prescription and there was so much miscommunication between the doctors and pharmacy that it was impossible to ever get my prescriptions refilled on time, if ever. I finally had to stop using the Health Center, because the inconsistency of prescription pick-up was getting bad for my health. In addition, the doctors were making me schedule way more frequent visits for check-ups, that lasted 5 minutes but costed hundreds of dollars. All -in-all, a horrible experience and not helpful, at all.
