1.) Cancelled our appointment because they failed to plan for the provider’s maternity leave in February 2020.2.) Couldn’t be rescheduled because they failed to make a plan to see us before COVID hit.3.) Called me at 7:00am while I was driving 1 hour to get to an appointment in July 2021 to tell me my 8:30am was cancelled because provider was sick.4.) Told me in that conversation the provider was sick the day before, too, and it didn’t occur to them to cancel a day ahead particularly when a provider is sick during a global pandemic.5.) Offered me a different provider but said I would have to pay out of pocket or out-of-network prices because their new person wasn’t registered to accept insurances yet—and was taking appointments?? Why would you do that to families?6.) To top it off, I state my frustration and Michelle—the receptionist—was snarky and rude. How dare you speak to a parent with anything but respect when our children come to audiologists because they have needs or are vulnerable. We don’t come to you for kicks and giggles. This is medical care. Have some respect.

I had a terrible experience with this office, I took my daughter here when she was 10 months old they were unable to do the appointment do to the fact she was tired. They then took 9 months to reschedule the appointment and canceled less then 24 hours before the appointment. I do not recommend this office.

Ive had a great experience with LA Hearing Center. I have been to at least 2 other audiologists over time and this was the first time I didnt feel like I was being sold to. I knew my hearing was a problem and that I needed hearing aids, but I also wanted to see someone who treated me like a patient and not a customer; LA hearing did that. Dr. Palazzolo understood my concerns with how hearing aids would impact my profession and helped me get comfortable with the idea of having them. She didnt treat the situation like, your hearing is bad, you need hearing aids, this is how much they are... Instead she helped me realize how much I was compensating for my hearing loss and how the hearing aids would benefit me. She also understood how much of a change it would be for me and listened to my requests for how we could ease my way into getting used to them. Since then Dr. Palazzolo has done a great job of asking me questions about how they are working for me and listened to my input. Its been almost a year now and I cant image going a day without my hearing aids.

This place is incredibly incompetent, from the front office on up. We get there early, as we were told to, but still wait 30+ minutes both times even though we can clearly see the audiologist in her office on her phone. Then during the first test they kept having epuipment problems, which resulted in them only being able to test 1 ear so we had to make another appointment for the other. The next test, we still waited a long time, then finally got the test underway. Got that ear done, but then they couldn’t get “a good read” on the hair follicle test so they wanted us to come back. Again. We asked what that meant and got a convoluted answer. There was no sense of urgency though, so they said come back in 6 months, but dealing with a newborns hearing time is crucial. Whatever, fine. The billing is a SCAM! We paid $110 in copays——there are NO COPAYS FOR AUDIOLOGY!!! We didn’t know this until we talked to several other audiologists. Then, we get the bill for the first visit, that they failed to submit to our insurance for $570, yet it said we owed $610???!!! How do they get $610 out of $570, especially since they didn’t bill our insurance. The second visit we got the bill, again didn’t bill the insurance first, for $570, yet they conveniently added a $40 fee to make it $610 because we called them out on the first bill. Call them and ask WTF is going on and to speak to a manager, but the manager is “unavailable” so we get yet another long, convoluted answer. We decided to go elsewhere and asked for our records to be faxed to the new doctor. Did they? Of course not, so we went there in person and got them, but we got 4 pages of records for 1 ear, yet only 1 page for the other. What happened to the other pages, they didn’t know.Needless to say, we have contacted our insurance company and also the state to have them investigated for insurance fraud, and may be contacting an attorney to get our copays back.Do yourselves a favor and save yourselves the headache, go to Central Maine Audiology or make the trip to Portland. Learn from our mistakes.
