Everyone was very helpful. We had never been here before and we received help coming in the door, signing and directions to see our family member. Very nice facility, clean, smelled fresh and the staff very pleasant.

No supplies for residents and certain staff are horrible to work with. I was harassed my 2nd night there but another CNA & when I spoke to management they made up reasons why she did this instead of properly handling staff . This is why they need agency and can’t not fully staff their building. Also the units are dirty and I’d never put my family in this horribly ran facility .

My mother was only at this place for 6 days and I wasn’t impressed the only thing that I found worth wild was the therapy department they were very attentive to my mothers needs, there was only one nurse on the first floor that did her job professionally even under the stress of being short handed and 12 hours days.

My aunt spent her last years in a room meant for two, but occupied by three. A great deal of the the time was spent in the middle bed, with nothing to look at but curtains. She was also dropped by an attendant while transferring from a wheelchair to bathtub.

The warm and caring leadership at Hamilton Arms spills over into the care given to patients and their families. I especially appreciate the administrator, Linda, so patiently answering questions my family and I have as we continue to make important decisions about the next step in my moms care. Having a trusted advisor in a leadership position is a rare treat and one of the many upsides to working with a small, intimate facility. Thank you, Linda!

Stopped here about a week ago to see my grandmother. I was greeted by a lady named Tasha. She was very helpful and very kind. She answered all my questions and definitely made me feel better about having a family member there. She assured my that my grandmother was in great hands. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Although my wifes rehab stay was only for one week, I can say the administrative staff led by Linda Williams have old-school values that really put the patient first. The nursing staff led by Helen Beihoff, was attentive, thoughtful, and pleasant in working with my wife. Her attending physician, Dr Owen Fox, isnt just another Internal Medicine doctor. He actually understands geriatric medicine which means he prescribes medications more appropriately and sees things other doctors tend to miss in seniors. Hamilton Arms is an excellent choice and I would go back if either me or my wife need rehab.

My mom entered Hamilton Arms Center in June of 2019. All the references I received were very good. My friends mother was currently in the facility and both loved it there. Before my mom moved to Hamilton Arms, she was at a very pretty and fancy facility. Unfortunately, the care was terrible. When my mom started to need assistance her teeth (which she was very proud of having all of them), were not brushed consistently by the staff for 5 months and they began to fall out. There were other major concerns also, so I needed to find a new facility. I looked at several and decided on Hamilton Arms. It is not the prettiest and my siblings complained, but I told them I was not concerned about the look I was concerned foremost about the care and cleanliness. The thing that struck me as I toured the facility is there was no nursing home odor, so I knew they kept the patients clean. The food is homemade delicious not frozen like the previous pretty facility. The staff at Hamilton Arms is so loving and caring. I will not lie though there were two workers I did not care for their personalities but they took good care of my mom. All facilities have a few workers that are not your favorite. I did eventually place a complaint about the one worker, it was not a huge incident but I felt it needed to be addressed. It was taken seriously and taken care of instantly. They do not mess around if they hear anything or a report is filed, even small incidents. They take pride in the love and care they give. Towards the end of her stay my mom was actively dying from her cancer and became bed ridden and could not eat well. They were very accommodating. As I mentioned her teeth were previously neglected at the last facility, Hamilton Arms brushed and used the dental picks twice a day on what teeth she had left. My mom NEVER had a sore or any kind of breakdown of her skin. Oh and the two doctors on staff were very good along with being thoughtful and caring. They really listened to the family members.  The activity department was great. They even provided the rosary three times a month and celebration of Mass once a month. Before my mom became too ill, at my request they agreed to give her physical and occupational therapy to strengthen her for a better quality of life, but said when my mom was no longer benefiting they would discontinue. They did not want to burden her financially if it was not making a difference anymore. I really respected their candor. The previous facility would never do activities or PT. I felt so much more relaxed when my mom was at Hamilton Arms. My mom was a nurse, one day I asked her how the care was. She said, it is good, I was so happy. I would like to thank all of the staff on the first floor, from nursing to housekeeping and especially Junior, her CNA for giving my mom the best quality of life she was able to achieve, and so much love.Susan

MY GREAT AUNT AND UNCLE WERE RESIDENTS OF HAMILTON ARMS. THEY COULDVE BEEN TAKEN CARE OF A LOT BETTER THAN THEY WERE. MY GREAT UNCLE HAD PNEUMONIA THEY LEFT THE WINDOWS UP IN THE WINTER TIME. EVERY TIME I WAS THERE I SHUT THE WINDOW TO HAVE A NURSE COME IN AND OPEN IT. MY UNCLE DIED 2 DAYS LATER. DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD HAVE THE WINDOW OPEN IN THE WINTERTIME AT ALL. IT WAS REALLY COLD IN HIS ROOM. I WOULDNT PUT A DOG INTO THIS HOME. SHAME ON YOU.I HAVE TO GIVE A RATING IN ORDER TO POST THIS...............HOWEVER I DONT WANT TO DO SO..............BUT I DID 1 STAR. IT SHOULD GIVE AN OPTION OF 0 STARS.

My mother was placed in Hamilton Arms over a year ago and its was a terrible experience. The place needs new management because they are not running the place properly. There is 1 bathroom shared between 2 rooms with up to 4 patients. The food is inedible and they dont take into account the dietary restrictions of their patients. My mother would call for help in the middle of the night and no one responded because they either had only 1 or 2 people working or the employees were outside smoking cigarettes. The doctor that is the house doctor felt it best to change the orders for my mother that had been laid out by her personal physicians, including specialists. He told her she didnt need her pain medication and he refused to give it to her until her regular family doctor called him and made sure she got the proper meds. The facility had a flu outbreak when my mother was there and all they did was keep the patients in their rooms instead of bringing them to the common rooms or physical therapy. They didnt post signs for visitors or even keep visitors out while they were dealing with the virus so people were walking in and out, not properly advised, and carrying who knows what kind of germs and viruses in and out of the building. The only good thing about this place were the physical therapists. They are way too good to be working in this location because they get the patients mobile and they bring in dogs that cheer the patients up a lot. They do a good job at putting on a good front when visited but ask a patient how they are and you will get a totally different response about how bad this location is run. The daytime nurses are fine but once they leave it seems no one cares anymore. Once again my mother was faced with leaving the hospital for a rehab facility and I made sure she was not returned to Hamilton Arms. I would have brought her home and paid for round the clock nursing before putting her back in here.

My Grandmother was my Mother and when she became blind and ill I knew I had to make a very important decision regarding her care. I searched multiple Nursing Homes in the Lancaster area. Many of these facilities has beautiful esthetics but somehow they lacked in what I found at Hamilton Arms when I first entered the building. You had a sense of love and compassion that just simply filtered the air. I made a very hard choice and placed my grandmother at Hamilton Arms. I had no regrets. The kind, compassionate care they gave her till her final breath was amazing. The staff on all 3 shifts were so kind and loving. They took the time to know my grandmother not only who she was in the present but who she was in the past, they took care to know she was a person, she was young, had children and worked. They knew every detail of her as if she were their own grandmother, they would even pencil in her eyebrows every morning and make sure her favorite sweater was on with a handkerchief out of the pocket. The food was wonderful and always looked inviting, I myself purchased several meals and they were very tasty. The facility was clean, never smelled and the activity dept. offered so many wonderful activities from knitting clubs, card clubs, gardening, Resident Councils, entertainment and so. Administration was always helpful and my grandmothers clothes were always clean and delivered on time. When she passed I was notified right away and they helped me through one of the hardest times, giving me hugs, condolences and even sending a representative to her funeral for family support. I couldnt have asked for a better place. Thank you Hamilton Arms for all the love you gave my grandmother and my family.Shirley L

If it wasnt for the therapy dept, I would find it hard to say anything. The food is not served hot or on time. ALSO do not allow facility to do your laundry. You will never see half of it again.

Horrible nursing facility. CNA’s do not take care of the patients as they should. Horrible staffing. The way they treated my grandmother is beyond what I can put into words. This place needs to be shut down. Staff is only in it for a check could care less about the well being of others loved ones.

Being a recent patient here, I can only say great things about the physical therapists BUT no matter what you are in here for the exercises are all the same for each patient and this is every day. Many of the physical therapists go out to other facilities and I asked one of the therapists if this is the case in other facilities and she said no! Nothing like having a burnt hamburger and when u write a different food on the menu u never receive u what u asked for! I am taking many medicines but the one I am taking for sleeping was set at 75mf. Told the nurse and was told she had to review it with the house dr. My son brought my bottle from home and it showed 100 mg. The next day the house dr raised it to 100 mg. Well a couple weeks later for two nights I had not been sleeping and when the nurse brought the pill in I said why is this pill so small and I said it is much smaller than the one I take at home so she looked at the chart and the computer and once again it said 50 mg. I told her house dr changed it and apparently it was never entered on the chart so I wait another night to get the right dosage. My wound doctor changed the interments on my wound and ordered another machine as the one I had was not capable of handling these changes. The physician asst when I came back here said the one I had was fine. I called the manufacturer of the machine and he advised me the one I had was continuous and could not adjust it to other speeds. A girl came up from the first floor (don’t know who she was) and told me the physician assistant was wrong I did need another vac and it would be here in a day or two. Well it was no 2.hours and again the physician’ assistant said that it came already. I’m not stupid - I never got a new machine but one from a prior patient. Called manufacturer again and he told me the supposedly new one could handle different timing but after any other adjustment the maintenance man would have to fix it. I knew at this point I never recd a new vac plus the one I recd was at least 5 lbs. I knew a week in advance when I was leaving. A wheel chair arrived and it was too high for me but they would not adjust it as they said this is the way it was ordered. Well to top it all off, a girl from the wound vac sales office came in to say everything was taken care of and it would be here for my return home. The day before the weekend I was leaving the following Monday a man from the company called me said it was not taken care of and it would be.difficult for them to have it here as some of the paperwork was not completed. He told me I would have to pay $200 a month for the co-pay. I proceeded to advise him I did have a supplement which info was not given to him. I advised him I had to have it to go home and he said maybe I would have to stay a couplemore days. I told him that was not possible because my personal care days were starting. I called the rep again and she said she would take care of it but I had to give them my credit card number as I could not receive it until I gave this info so to make peace I gave it to him. But remember, I was told by the ordering person everything was taken care of. Told my sons I would rather die then come back here!
