This Dr should have his license removed. He is the most unprofessional person in any industry I have seen. I had to see him because of a workmans comp claim (he is the only Dr that accepted it), so at that time I had no choice. He hands out mind altering drug prescriptions like they are candy. Thank the good Lord that I had the good sense not to fill the prescriptions. Both he and his staff dont do as they say, as an appointment really means that he will try to see you sometime that day. His primary concern was how he could get to Hawaii again to work as opposed to consulting on my condition.Avoid the place at all costs.

I have been going to dr. Scariano for 25 years he help diagnosed my mystanigravis which several doctors even the Mayo Clinic could not diagnose. I got the diseases young in life. Now it’s in remission. He also help me find out that I have early onset Parkinson’s just in a few months. No other doctor including the VA was willing to help. Now he is helping me to slow the process down. I thank him and Dr.Farrar, the staff for making feel better and treating me with some dignity. Until your life changes forever you don’t know how grateful your doctors are living it with you. Thanks so much and may God bless them

I am a new patient. I am very pleased with every aspect of my experience. Every staff member was polite and very eager to answer any question I had. The Dr and NP were very thorough and genuinely interested in my care and healthcare plan Follow up appointments and tests were made promptly and staff remained in contact to make the process smooth. I would highly recommend in the future to any one looking for a great physician that is interested in someone that really cares about the patient behind the chart. They are VERY hard to find in the Knoxville area! Dr. Scariano and Ms. Mina are the best!

Dr Jack Scariano and his associates Nina Farrar have treated me as a veteran exceptionally well. I have been experiencing serious neurological issues since 2009 with no answers which included a stroke, memory issues, unstable walking, decline in hearing and vision etc. I have been seeking answers through many Drs to try to find out what is going on.After a thorough exam a diagnosis was finally given which explains everything.Thank you for your expertise.

Although I had to wait 35 mins past my appt time the Office Manager kept me informed the whole time and even apologized for my wait even though that part wasnt necessary it was a very nice jester. The staff in general was very helpful. I saw Mina Farrar NP and she took the time out to make sure that all my questions was answered. Everyone there was very friendly and when it was time to check out the office staff made sure that I had everything that I needed and that I didnt have any last min questions.

The wait in waiting room was long, but the care and diagnosis were excellent and follow-up was exceptional. There is a new staff and an office manager who has gone above and beyond to see that my husband gets the best care available in Knoxville. The entire staff is caring, accommodating and professional.

I went to this doctor a few years back. They said they were going to refer me but never called. About five years later I take my son. I asked them about the referral. The lady looked it up and said yes you were supposed to be referred to this doctor. But we dont do that.I asked them could they see mental illnesses on the MRI. They said no. But when I ask doctor scariano another question said about it he said and I quote Im not a psychiatrist I dont diagnose mental illnesses. Yet within 5 minutes of that time he said I know schizoaffective disorder when I see it.Seems to me thats making a diagnosis in an area that he is not educated in. Not to mention when we were sitting in the waiting area there was a man that was supposed to get another appointment and he said it had been a year and finally he had to call them back. From my experience they dropped the ball a lot, and for someone that doesnt diagnose things diagnosed it in his office without the education he is supposed to have to do this. I wouldnt recommend this man to anyone.

Id rather stab myself in the left foot than to go here again. First of all, appointments do not matter. Had an appointment, but waited an hour and half to be seen. The receptionists could care less about your wait time and isnt concern about finding out whats going on either. Theres a great lack of courtesy and professionalism there.

Set in the waiting room for 48 minutes before being took back , but a woman came in stating that they told her to come by and they would work her in , 5 minutes later they took her back to see they same person we were seeing. When we did get to the back we still had to wait another 39 minutes before the doctor came in to give us the results of her MRI. I have never seen any Doctors office as terrible as this one. Would never recommend this Physician to anyone. Will definitely be finding a new doctor for her.

I went to him years ago his office staff was so unprofessional. He had me scheduled for a surgery that would not even help me when I asked for a second opinion he got so angry. I went to Vanderbilt and never looked back. Got down to 1 medication a day when I was taking 5.Also every time it seemed as though I saw them turn patients away if they were 10 mins late no matter how far they came, but our wait time was 1 to 2 hours.

I find the office manager to be extremely rude. I CANCELLED my follow-up appointment because of her rudeness...... This is the WORST place to go... Veterans please find a better facility for your treatment. I drive 2hrs. for my appointment and they dont have my medicine there, nor did they call to tell me. I have tried to be patient, but this is a horrible facility.

I have been going to dr scariano for 6 years now. He has never done an mri or ct scan on me. This makes me believe he is not interested in fixing the problem, but treating the symptoms. The last visit I had with him, he fell asleep 3-4 times during our conversation. There was another person n the room with us. I believe she was an assistant. She was taking notes on her computer while we discussed options for my migraine treatment. When I asked dr scariano a question, she would have to repeat the question to wake him up. I should have recorded the visit. He prescribed me aimovig even though I explained to him that the medicine I was on has worked like a miracle for me (triptan class drugs) but it was time to change the triptan to another one because my receptors were unresponsive to them after 2 yrs. Which is normal for me. He didnt prescribe them and pushed aimivig on me instead. I do not feel comfortable taking the medicine because of the state he was in and the research I did on the medicine afterwards. I have had to let work take me off the schedule because I am unable to work now. U never think this will happen to u, until it happens.. he should not be practicing medicine if hes falling asleep during an appointment, let alone prescribing drugs to a patient while he is clearly not in his right mind. J hate to write anything bad about anyone, its been 6 years and no answers for my migraines. Im at the end of my rope.

Unorganized. I show up as first patient and wait, wait, oh and wait. I let them know I had another appointment and after 30 minutes went to the desk again and they tell me they haven’t gotten insurance verification. They want me to come back later. I had just been on the phone with them yesterday because they wanted to know if I had an MRI since my last visit. I had it before my last visit and we discussed it. They finally found the report.I give them 2 stars because I didn’t have to go back and wait again (I rescheduled for next month) and they are calling in a refill. I would change doctors but I am a veteran and would have to go through more hoops to do that.

I have a right to be in charge of my care. We played the medication dance for a while. (I have MS). Every medication made me sick. No problem, right? A new medicine became available and Dr refused to even try it. He refused to set down and talk to me about it. When I would ask at every appointment, the P. A. would step out of the room, ask and all hed do was yell. Im in end stage renal failure so I dont feel well most of the time. Ive had to reschedule appointments because I would be very sick. I tried to reschedule my last appointment and was told no. The PA refused to let me reschedule. No compassion or understanding was even considered. I stuck it out with all of the changes over the years. I never complained about the three hour wait for my first appointment. I never complained about having to wait any amount of time. I complied with all drug testing. I never said a word about the pill pyramid scheme. You know, you buy this non fda approved pill and then you have to sale x amount to get a small amount of money knocked off of the fee for the pills you take. That went on for maybe a year. I defended this office when former employees would talk negatively. I defended this office when people in the waiting room were flipping their wigs over wait times and such. I had many set down conversations with Rebecca about life and such. I considered her my friend. I realize now that while defending this office, Im only seen as a number, an insurance payout and just not important. Thats ok. I took control of my treatment and am now getting very good care. My advice? If this place is what you can afford, just let it be a bandaid. As soon as you can get in with a better Dr, do so.

Dr. Scariano was wonderful to my husband. They got him in quick and took every issue serious, which was the issue with many other doctors because my husband was younger than most patients, none of them took him serious. He is going to have to have surgery, but thankfully there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.

My wife has been a patient for years and switched her medication with a lot of side effects. She is looking at running out of her medicine because of someone in this office simply not sending in paperwork. She has told me personally she would do it and then call my wife but still hasn’t done it. I would recommend anyone to pick a different neurologist.

When they say 45 min to 2 hours they mean in the waiting room. They are a very unorganized office. They dont tell you that they are running behind . There are people waiting in the waiting room for a 9:15 appointment and it is now 12:30 and still have not been called back. They need to learn how to run a doctors office and show there patients respect . They need to relize that people have things to do other than just wait around .

My first and last visit. Had an appointment at 10:30. I arrived early. The receptionist never acknowledged me standing at her desk, just kept talking on the phone. The man behind the desk buried his nose in his tablet. After an hour, I finally got paperwork to fill out. Other patients said they have never been seen on time. Two hours after my appointment time, I left. Never got to see a physician. Very rude workers. Very unprofessional attitudes. Such a shame.

Dr.Scariano has a new staff. They are very kind and caring. Dr. Scariano takes as much time as needed with his patients. The wait may be a little long but I would rather sit for a bit to see a doctor that is caring and makes sure you have no questions before leaving, than to be ran through and not having answers or seeing a doctor that doesnt take time with their patient. Both Dr. Scariano and his nurse practitioner are well educated and great!
