I love Dr. McCollum! Straight shooter tells you like it is, answers all your questions and takes his time explaining. His nurses and office staff are remarkable and very efficient. I will definetly recommend him to any one who needs his expertise!!

Process for patients to check in then be seated until called to go into area where physician see you is very good. Once in the physicians area, very professional staff work rapidly and efficiently for preliminary information, X-Rays, etc. Dr. McCollum sees the patient almost immediately after X-Rays are examined. Very Excellent staff, Physician, and processes.

Dr. McCollum answered questions and explained the options and the time frame associated with recovery but also the different variables. When it came to scheduling the surgery the team was very efficient and informative.Prior Visit - This was a follow-up visit to evaluate and see if the fluid was ready for draining off and steroid shot in my knee. As always, the staff is friendly and attentive to the needs of the patients and I always feel that they truly listen to what we answer when they ask a question. It is never a cookie-cutter experience.

This is my second Dr. I have seen at University Orthopedics and I have been treated with respect and courtesy and they listen to you. Dr. McCollum was very prompt and explained his findings and what the treatment plan was going to be and we scheduled a follow up. The staff and nurses have been really nice and courteous. I have found my new office for all of my Orthopedic needs.

I have been going to him for years and all he wanted to do was put shots in hips when I have already tolded him they dont work. I tolded him all I wanted was to have some releaf from pain and he still wanted to put shots in hips when again tolded him they dont help. So I tolded him he was wasting my time and gas coming all the way to UT hospital Knoxville for nothing.

If the doctor would have took a minute to look at my prior record when my doctor refered me he would have been able to determine that I should take other steps before even considering sending me to someone who was clearly not interested in someone unless he could do surgery on them asap I would be ashamed as a professional to even send a bill to my insurance company I thought the nurses were rude and the way the put me in a gown and had me walk barefoot through the office was embarrassing to myself and others the doctor tried to insult my intelligence when it was he who should have told my doctor that I did not n3ed his services at that moment in my recovery from another doctors negligence that put me in this situation someone needs to police the doctors in this country the profession is ran unchecked until its too late for many people and the unnessesary cost and suffering caused by people like mccolumn and others justice should be sought against these people

Visit went very well and was called back promptly after I checked in.

This visit was for my elderly mother. She is inpatient at NHC Athens which makes transport and scheduling appointments difficult. I was pleased that we were able to get in and out of the appointment in a timely manner and the staff was very courteous and understanding with my mothers advanced dementia condition.

Out of 7 hip surgeries over the last 38 years this has been the least painful and an easier recovery.

I have now seen five of the physicians at this clinic, Drs. Wallace, Holt, Seaworth, Moss and McCollum. All have been extremely professional, knowledgable and compassionate. As a retired health care provider with 38 years in private practice, I recognize quality care. All of these professionals are at the top of their field. I could not be more pleased and would not hesitate to recommend any of these physicians to anyone with orthopedic concerns.

Saw Dr. McCollum for pain in my left knee that was replaced by Dr. Hovis 3 mar1914. Diadosedthat problem was not the knee but left Hip. Gave shot into left hip. Please tell Dr. McCollum that by 8 oclock that night I was free of pain in the knee. Could stand and walk with no problems. Thank you very much for the excellent care.
