If you want to get pain pills its probably a great place. Personally our experience over several years was not good. We only saw the doctor Irvine once. Hes very busy he is opening new locations around Texas to make more money. They want you to have some kind of procedure done every month or else they dont want to see you. The whole point of this operation is to see you and Bill the insurance companies. After going there for a couple years they had been doing what they call nerve burns and they put a test stimulator in and when it was time to remove it after it was unsuccessful of course Dr Irvine wasnt there but one of his colleagues was and the representative from the company that makes the nerve stimulator said wow we have targeted the wrong nerves. Now covid-19 kicks in and we see a different PA and he starts exploring where the actual nerves and problem was. Of course hes a PA and he wants to target the different nerves. But he has to go get it cleared with Dr Irvine who says no were going to continue to target the same nerves. The same nerves that werent providing relief. The same nerves that the tech rep and the other doctor who Im not going to name said wow weve done the wrong nerves. Most of these office visits after covid-19 didnt allow me to be there but my girlfriend would call me on her speaker phone so that I could ask questions and listen in. So basically she was told if she didnt have some kind of procedure performed they werent going to be able to treat her. Also just as a side note her problem involves whats called her sacrum and every room that they have you weighed in has a poster talking about sacrum stabilization treatments. So when I asked they said well we dont do that and we dont refer anyone for that so why is the poster there?Well since my girlfriends insurance lets her go see a specialist without referrals we went to see a neurosurgeon who took a look at the MRI listen to where and what my girlfriends problem was and promptly told us that his professional opinion was we needed to go somewhere else which we did and were much happier that we have nothing to do with IPA. In fact Im so angry I still think about getting an attorney or at least somehow reporting what I consider a pill mill to the Texas medical board.most of the comments we seem to get is that shes not taking very many pain pills so they would gladly prescribe more.I feel that the company that made the stimulator was honest and tried to help. I think that the doctor that came in when they were removing the test leads from the stimulator might have been more help. But constantly seeing no one but PAs and having the doctor overrule his own PA after the other doctors and tech rep admitted that they had targeted the wrong nerves was very irritating and just as far as Im concerned malpractice.Your experience may be different but as far as were concerned we would wish we had never gone there. The nurses and the PAs we dealt with were friendly and nice but we did not get any of the pain relief that we were looking for. Didnt want pills didnt want painkillers she wanted to be fixedTaking the neurosurgeons advice we went to Baylor Scott & White clinic in Round Rock and theyre very first treatment my girlfriend got what she considers her first relief in years unfortunately steroid shot only lasted several weeks but it was complete different situation.

I have had several family members--including myself-- that have dealt with pain on their own and through professional services. Overall IPA has been the best for us. We have had some issues with wait times when scheduling appointments but other than that the management of pain has been really good. When you dont feel good and you hurt or your spouse is hurting it is comforting to know you have a resource like this and that the doctors understand your situation.

Here we go again! No pain relief at all from this so-called pain management team!!!Just completed a trial for spinal cord stimulation! No pain relief, in fact, now in worse pain than before! They bruised my lower back below where the leads were placed! If I could give this place no stars I would, or negative stars!Asked for pain meds that would actually work and they said I have it in my file about non-compliance for meds, all because I filled a legal prescription from my primary doctor just incase I needed it - hadnt taken any, but that apparently doesnt matter! So now they yet again dont do anything for pain management at all except push expensive procedures to bill insurance about!!! Scheduled me for a month away with no script for pain!!!They should lose their license and be permanently closed!!!!!

Very poor quality website and service. My wife went multiple times for back pain issues and they gave her numerous treatments that were ineffective. They revealed information about her back that they had kept from us only after treatments failed and we were several 1000s of dollars in debt. Then they give you the run around, making you go to several appointments that are pointless but cost a good 100 bucks each time. So yeah, Im not impressed. Then, to make matters even better, their website is impossible to navigate. I looked for a good while in order to pay my bill and never managed to find where to go. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and health.

My name is Dana Sanchez, and I have been a patient of, Dr. Irvine’s for a year and a half. When I first moved to TX, Dr. Irvine saw me on a moments notice. Fast forward a year and a half later, Dr. Irvine is by far, one the most caring doctors I have had the opportunity to be a patient of. His compassion for his patients is so genuine. Dr. Irvine’s bedside manner is second-to-none! He truly cares about his patients and is both, dedicated and committed them. He plays an integral role in the area of pain management medicine and, I am a true testament of his commitment to his patients and practice. As for the PA’s at IPA, they are also very dedicated to the patients of IPA. Melanie is an absolute asset to IPA. Angie, Dawn and Jason are all amazing. The office staff and staff at the Surgery Center are all so friendly and know patients by name. Thank you everyone at IPA for always being so caring and dedicated to the patients of IPA. Dr. Irvine, never change. You are the best doctor ever!!!

They are not very good at listening to how you feel. I was in a car accident and one of the providers made a joke about pain being one of the down falls of getting older. I always felt as if they were just milking my insurance. One of the providers was very understanding and got me what I needed to help me to be able to continue going to work. I think her name is Krisha. They kept insisting I get another MRI when my first one wasnt even a year old yet. I just never felt like they had my best interests at heart. I always felt like a number. The girls at the front desk are always a delight.

The Office in Abilene is great. It’s the Surgery center that is horrendous! No professional curtesy, No consideration of another persons time. Spoke with everyone besides the Directors boss. Was told I’d be called but, 24 hours later I have not. And come to find out they had 7 days to get things in order for my procedure, and didn’t. Could of made one phone call to my insurance provider in that 7 days (including the day of) and the bosses boss said “ no we would have to reschedule and it’s a lot of paperwork”. It required a phone call actually. I am appalled by my treatment by these people.I was excited about my procedure, I know it would of helped me a lot. And instead they wanted more money before I was “fixed” and cared nothing about me as a person. There HAS to be a business out there in the medical field that cares more about the people and the healing there of. And less about the time/paperwork they have to do along with the love of money.

If I could give zero stars I would. My mom had an appointment today after being seen at the temple location for her first appointment. This place is very unprofessional. From the very moment she walked in at that. I work for a doctor office as well and had to step away because my mother called me crying. I don’t know why the temple location made her follow up at this location because it was a completely different environment and treatment. Melanie Pierce the FNP there was not even up to date on her records and treated her as if she was only seeking pain medication. When asked to speak with a supervisor she was not any better. She didn’t even bother to ask what was going on or try to fix it. Would not recommend at all. Maybe who ever trained the staff at temple should come and show the Killeen location how to have better customer service and patient care .

On 4/29 I had an appointment with IPA and I informed them that I was in lots of intense pain because of dental procedures that were done/needed to be done. On the right side I had received 2 crown build ups and they had to cut and cord much of my gums so the dentist offered me a Rx. I told my dentist that I was already taking pain pill 1 every 8 hours and he told me ok and if in the interim hear is a Rx. I took the Rx. I didn’t fill the Rx because of my pain contract. When I turned in my Rx the employee told me that I cannot take anything other than the one tablet every 8 hours. She told me that if things get bad come back. On the 30th I came back because I was in pain. They didn’t change their minds. I’m still in pain. Today I had to miss work. I had an ear ache headache and 4 tooth aches. I went and got an emergency root canal the morning of May 1. I told the doctor that I cannot accept a Rx because I was on a pain contract. He just gave me some Motrin for today. Around 4pm I was still hurting and my face was still swollen my ear still hurting. I can only take one pain pill every 8 hours. I asked to speak to a supervisor and showed her everything she looked up my Rx and said my doctor says that 1 pain pill every 8 hours is sufficient. It’s not. I’m writing this because I want new patients to have knowledge before you use this company of course you will need dental work or some other pain. So choose wisely.

Overall and in the best interest of fairness the Dr I was seeing for over 10yrs was excellent, no issues with his medical practice. But over the yrs the clinic adopted what I’m sure is an illegal policy to conduct urinalysis to everyone regardless whether you are being prescribed any medication or not almost every 2-3 months. I ended being discharged because I wouldn’t play their money making game. Do your homework and inform yourself before coming to IPA, they are crooked and I just hope some Federal agency discover their illegal practices and shut them down for good.

STAY AWAY!My husband is a retired Vet with a purple heart, he has extreme back pain that he has occured over his life, more than a bulging disc and curvature of the spine along with arthritis and gout, he has been on the same medication for FIFTEEN YEARS without a single problem, he is a model patient. He had to change doctors after changing insurances and sadly he chose integrated. After a few visits with no problem, THEY CUT HIS MEDICATION DOWN BY SEVENTY PERCENT! The employees excluding the people at the front desk are rude, sadistic, and on a constant high horse, looking down at anyone they see as a drug addict that couldnt possibly deserve there medications. His medication cut was without warning, they didnt even try to taper him, although that would of even been unnecessary. We have four kids and despite being elderly and having a hard life he still is a fantastic father, he needs his medication to live, they dont care though, they have power over people and they love using it.Luckily he had his records transferred and IMMEDIATELY found a new doctor that thankfully put him back on his correct medication, and even expressed how sick it was what they did in the first place, the best part? THEY WROTE BLATANT LIES IN HIS RECORD THAT CONTRADICTED THEMSELVES SO HE WOULD HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING A NEW DOCTOR!Unless you want to see the very worse of humanity and what power does to people, find another pain doctor, they sleep better knowing they made it where someone couldnt.THEY HAVE AN INSANE AMOUNT OF 1-2 STAR REVIEWS FOR A REASON, READ THEM, and take the positive reviews with no actual review with grains of salt, its more likely the employees rating there office to balance there horrible rating

I am a Veteran and utilizing the Choice Program. My insurance is Triwest. I saw Dr. Lowry twice in the beginning, but not after that. All I saw were nurses and every time I went I expressed the pain I was in. Finally a nurse upped my medication. I had the trial STEM implant done in April 2016 and it was a tease! I was pain-free after 3 years. I was scheduled for the surgery in June 2016. Because the office did not communicate with my insurance, the surgery was cancelled and the office said I did the cancelling. This was so wrong! I would never cancel and surgery that would change my life back. Then I had it scheduled in August 2016 in which the office sent the insurance form to the wrong place with the wrong codes.... so it was cancelled again. Then my insurance sorted it out after 2 months of back and forth craziness. They called and said I had to be schedule for 2017. I said I would go to another doctor. Ms. Monica worked her magic and got me a surgery date for Nov. 14. Then the surgery center called me with an opening for Oct. 31, 2016.The main issue is communication from patient to office and office to insurance. I dont like being assigned a doctor just to never see him until after the major surgery. The women working the front do not act like they are pleased to be there and take it out on patients with rudeness. And medication is crazy expensive BUT the office provides free 75% off cards to use at the pharmacy which is AMAZING! Overall the office good, but the things that are a concern are HUGE!

After 3 weeks and 3 appointments I finally had my epidural done. Absolutely no bed side matter. I went in for my thumbs ended up doing my back , asked again on the table about my thumbs where he informed to make another appointment. My other pain guy would have been on the phone making sure I left in no pain. It is worth my time to go back to my pcm and get a new referral. This will not happen again. Make the trip to Round Rock for me next time. The pain level got so bad my bp went to 159/100. NEVER AGAIN. They took the most expensive procedure I had prior and did that one. Not what I asked for that is for certain. Update November 2017.I chose a new doctor and had a fabulous experience. I will go back.

That is more than the injections which are considered surgery. Two years ago I reported them to my insurance company and they magically dropped it and we only had to pay $100.Today I was told that if insurance doesn’t cover it then it could be dropped. Well my insurance paid nothing and the lady at their billing company said it was adjusted so I still had to pay $1000. Adjusted for who $1800 vs $1000 for me to pay. Who benefited from that? Not my family.I’m livid. My husband gets good care but to me that is price gouging on a drug test. He peed in a cup for crying out loud and you placed a testing strip in it.On top of that when he went in to his appointment the other day he was told we had no balance when he was trying to pay and then 2 days later we have a bill arrive in the mail.Of course the office doesn’t deal with billing but my feeling is if they tell me I don’t have a bill then I shouldn’t have to pay for their mistake right.I will be filing a complaint with my new insurance company.

I asked the doctor and a nurse if I can communicate electronically or over the phone any medical updates. That way I didnt have to continuously come in for no reason and pay my copay. They said I could. But no one at the front desk is letting me do that. I am out of medicine, in pain, and they are making me wait a week from now to come in.My biggest issue is a bill I got for a urinalysis of 900$. Apparently during a short time period they decided to mail off urinalysis tests to a California company, out of network, that I now have to pay for. Ive been overcharged for tens units and had a credit on my account, but no one bothered to tell me until i was complaining and trying to speak to the office manager and doctor. Who, I never got to speak with.I left a message for the doctor on their website 2 months ago with no response. I left a phone message a couple of weeks ago and I doubt Ill ever get a call back. When I do go in for an appointment, they just ask if everything is the same and thats about it.This place has caused me so much grief and money. I would not recommend going to this business. If you are a patient that wants good care, and values integrity and honesty do not go to this office. My husband turned in some paperwork that is time sensitive, and they have not given it back. Before turning it in, he called to ask if he needed to bring it in early, so it would be ready and was told no, bring it to the appointment and it would be done while he was there. It was not. He was then told they would call when it was done. A week later he went in to ask about it, and the person he spoke to was rude and said we told you we would call you when it was ready. My husband explained that it had to be turned in by a certain time and was told it would be done the next day. He came back 2 days later and it still wasnt completed. He spoke to the office manager who said that the nurse practitioner had not been in the office for 2 days and that is who has to fill it out, and that the doctor has to sign it, and he has not been in the office. So basically we were lied to from the beginning. We still dont have the paperwork. The timeframe to turn it in is almost over.UPDATE: Since this review was posted weve recieved a letter from our insurance provider, advising us that they have pulled approval for visits to this provider due to not receiving information from Integrated Pain Associates, that the insurance company requested from them.

Dr. Andrew McDavid is a well seasoned, compassionate, and caring doctor. I’ve always been treated with dignity, and respect by him. I would recommend Dr. McDavid to anyone who wants to gain control of their life again inspite of the physical, and mental aspects of chronic pain.

Now that I am an established patient of IPA, my thoughts about IPA has changed, and not for the better! Ive seen multiple providers and all of them have different outcome goals. The lack of continuity is enough to send me looking for a new clinic, again! Appointments get changed/cancelled and the first I hear of it, is when I showed-up for the appointment! Also, you are told you have an appointment with Dr. X, but when you arrive, you learn your appointment is with NP Y! Simply too many mindgames for me!

I have nerve pain and was referred to them.. they immediately wanted me to get expensive shots without getting to the root of the problem. I met the Dr only once and I have been going there for two years. Guess who you see? The nurses.. they see the patients so you would never get quality service. They even decide if they will write pain meds or not. To this day, I havent got a clue where my pain is from. If these people will not have the nurses ( not nurse practitioners) doing there jobs then I think they will be better. Also, if you dont want to be made to look like a pain addict then you better not go to these people. those nurses front in your faces and talk behind your back because i have heard them.. Im canceling my contract and going to some real drs.

Gouged money like crazy!!!!!I had my first appointment and with that came the usual things like a checkup, Q&A, and of course a urinalysis. I got all of my questions answered even did my first injections with no problem. On my next appointment just a follow up and to schedule for my second injection(source of pain) procedure they said I had to have another urinalysis.....they do it in house and my insurance doesnt cover it so I asked if I could just schedule my appointment and not get the urinalysis sense the first one came back normal and my insurance doesnt cover them, they said no and if I dont do them I would have to go somewhere else so I did just that way to not help people who are there for pain guys and if this stops just one person from getting swindled from this place then I did my job.

Don’t expect to see the doctor. Every time you go in, you see a different nurse practitioner... also, they do Not care if you are in pain.... what was prescribed... 800 mg ibuprofen 3 times a day.... who does that??? Does anyone else have problems taking Ibuprofen? My problem was with the nurse practitioner who didn’t even know what she was doing. Dr Blake Sutton is a good doctor.... but, you don’t get to see him that often. Needless to say, after I made my review they let me go as a patient and of course it was because I made a bad review.Killeen needs doctors who actually care about the pain people are in.All I can say is check out everything before you go to any doctor. Dr. Sutton was always professional and courteous to me. My review of IPM came after I had a nurse practitioner who did not know what she was doing.

I was a patient at IPA for over three years, and I adored when I actually got to see Dr. Lowery. He listened and genuinely cared about my pain. Then the change started, I got passed off to the NPs. I had one who was more interested in my mental health than my physical health, to the point of forgetting to schedule my procedure and setting it back by a couple of weeks. But for the most part it was ok, not great, but ok. I tolerated the drug tests every three months, and needing to the test blocks every six months to a year. When I started to complain about just getting a bandaid on my issues instead of them looking towards a long term fix, I was told that there wasnt one for me. I just had to deal with all of my vacation and sick time being used there. I complained about the appointments not starting on time, often being upwards of 45 minutes past my start time, I was told that it was better than other clinics (thats a lie). I also wanted to see my doctor, Dr. Lowry, not just the nurse. It wasnt until I caused a problem for them that they relented and said I could, brushing it off as a communication issue. The final straw was when I fought with them for over four months to make sure my medication list was correct, and it still wasnt. Plus I asked for a two month prescription of my medications. They treated me like a drug seekers, despite most clinics writing prescriptions for up to three months. The nurse wrote the prescription for one. At my next appointment I pointed out the mistake and they looked it up in my medical records, which said two. I still had the original paper prescription that she printed and it said one.Im no longer a patient there and so many of the things they said they had to do are simply so they could get more money from patients. Like the test blocks and the drug tests. They also purposely wrote prescriptions for shorter periods so more office visits would be required. For some reason they refused to look into other treatments for me, like an implant, despite being a perfect candidate for it. Probably because they wouldnt be able to make as much money from me if they actually fixed my problem.Even now they are still messing with me, though through neglect not purposely. When I left IPA I signed their consent form for other clinics to receive my medical records. My new clinic has requested my records at several times, including at least three times since the beginning of February and they have yet to hear back.

Im updating this. After this review, that I was encouraged to write, I was let go from this clinic..no explanation. I called, my next clinic called as well as my pharmacy. All which got no response. Ill leave it at that.I have had to go here since Scott and White quit taking care of the pain pump that they implanted in me. I actually get physically Ill the day i have to go to this place. The women who work at the front are some of the rudest, most heartless women I ever had to deal with and prior to becoming disabled due to pain, I worked at a hospital as an RN for 14 years. I am not a drug addict. I am not a hard to deal with rude person....these ladies bring that out in me.I have heard them laugh at people who are trying to explain why they need their medications but cant pay $200 that day to be seen...seen just to have a prescription written. I had to go take out a $200 loan one time in order to get my medications so I would not only hurt as bad but not go into withdrawal. They seem to not know this happens or they dont care..most likely both. Its not their job to judge someones pain and it definitely is not their place to talk to us, the people who without they wouldnt get paid, like we are ignorant and an inconvenience in their day.I totally can not stand the thoughts of having to go there next month. I have spoken to several people about this situation, to no avail. I hope these heartless, unprofessional women never experience.the type of pain that the people they laugh at and make fun of are living with.I will say I dont have an issue with Dr. McDavid.

If you want actual treatment, this is not the clinic to go to . The doctors as well as nurse practitioners are extremely insensitive . Theyre not above being out right dishonest or playing games. Dont dare be educated, outspoken or open up your mouth to advocate for yourself. Youll be sorry. You know its not a good place when your primary care doctor tells you to sue them!

Tl;dr: The people are kind, but dont often listen & if you dont want to be pushed into injections/RFAs or have medication concerns maybe look elsewhere.I have been going there for 3 years & my first year I thought they were the most incredible people. Their staff is friendly, the place is clean, they seemed to care & I got to see the Dr not just Nurse Practitioners. Fast forward & it has just continually gone downhill. One, they say youre suppose to see the Doctor every 3 months. That doesnt happen. Ive seen him maybe twice in the last year except for injections/RFAs. Two, they have really started only caring about that surgery center. If you cant or dont want to do injections (I was unable for 6 months for outside reasons) they immediately start becoming extremely pushy and seemingly well we cant do much else.Three, they have just stopped listening. Ive been on the same pain meds for 3 years, and have been informing them for the last 1 1/2 years that they losing effectiveness / werent effective anymore (towards the end). They made zero changes & kept just saying well see how you feel after this injection & putting it off. When I finally forced them to change it they put me on a time release version of the same medication & took away my fast acting for in between pain meanwhile the time release didnt help. Everything becomes injections/RFAs or we dont know how to help Ive been going to Physical therapy for 9 months which does help realigning to less pain, Ive done every injection, every procedure, everything they say lets try this I do it.The final straw was last month (June) I took a urinalysis, it came back clean. July they screwed up & didnt call me or my doctor til the Friday before my Tues appt to say my referral had lapsed. My meds needed refilled on Wed. Due to the mess up I was without meds completely for 12 days since you cant get them without a doctors visit. When the referral was fixed & I got in for a new appt they said because of the 12 day lapse I needed a new urinalysis. I refused, which I have never done but I had just taken one the month prior & nothing has ever been in my urine that wasnt suppose to be there. I was on a very heavy period & simply didnt want to because I was not comfortable with it. Had they not messed up, I would have been there nearly 2 weeks prior to my period like I always am.It started out as then we wont write your pain meds today which I was irritated by, but said fine. Then after speaking to a supervisor to explain my frustrations of the past year & this incident I was informed that if I refused a urinalysis they would completely drop me from care despite the fact that I had RFAs scheduled which I would be cancelled from & 3yrs of care. When I became irate at the situation I was then informed that they would keep me in care but would never write me pain medication again if I didnt. At that point I was quite simply too annoyed & angry, between this & the past year and a half that I just said that I would keep the RFAs but would be finding a new doctor. Also the woman at the front desk that does scheduling is possibly one of the kindest people youll ever meet in a doctors office & Integrated Pain is lucky to have her.

I had been a patient at this clinic for over 3 yrs and received I felt great awesome care. Drs were awesome but the front was doable. I live 5 hrs away but since I started with them I wanted to continue my care with them. since they switched over to a surgery center with sedation and now all these new laws. I found it to be a bit annoying, and now having to come in once a month for refills, thats a lot of.money to get refills andbhavingbto do drug test. I had to cancel and reschedule 2,appt consectivlely. they told me today that they will no longer treat me., because I cancelled twice Wow! Im angry and hurt. what happen to do whats best for your patient, and being mindful of some ppl do travel. oh well! Im just gonna said God has a better and more innovative pain clinic for me. Im very disappointed that everything has really just become a business about making the money and not so much about patient care. Im sad and pissed that I have been treated this way. They really really suck.Smdh! No recommendations from me.
