I am currently sitting in room ten (10) awaiting my appointment that was scheduled at 10:30 am. The door was closed for over thirty minutes and I finally went to the desk and asked for an update. Professionally speaking when you have a patient in a room waiting and the doctor is running behind is not courteous to let the patient know and check on them as a staff. After all you know the doctors schedule better than the patient. It is currently 11:14 which is well past my scheduled appointment time of 10:30 am. Still no update.

Couldnt live without them! I was hesitant to go to a Pain Management Facility following a horrible auto accident I was in since I had never been to a Pain Management Facility before. But it is one of the best decisions I made to go here after being referred to Pain Management by another doctor.. They have helped with my back and neck pain, also helped to get my terrible, long lasting headaches under control.Dr. Holder and Ms. Williams are absolutely wonderful professionals. After trying different techniques for my pain, they gave me options for me to choose from going forward.. Yes, you do have to sign a contract if you are prescribed a controlled pain medicine but that should be no issue to anyone unless that patient is a drug addict. The contract you sign is a Federal requirement intended to prevent patients from abusing pain medicine.

Every single appointment I have had with Mrs Williams has been amazing! She really does listen to her patients and do what she believes is best for them. Dr holder has been very nice and super professional when doing the injections and it’s really helped me get tons of relief. The only negative review I have is when I sleep an appointment time , it takes another half hour to be seen and I think if they’re behind they should inform the patients so there not feeling like their wasting their time but other than that I love this clinic.

Dr. Erin Chaney was AWESOME! The entire procedure was almost painless. I honestly thought they were still prepping me when she said, All done! I highly recommend this office. Also a shout out to PA Bruce Miller who did my initial intake before setting up my procedure appointment. He was thorough and helped me to go over my medical record. I had been going to a facility in Wilmington for over 4 years, tried several spinal injections which I never got any relief. There, they really were too eager to treat with meds and more meds. I started at JPM about 5 months ago and have successfully gotten off Percocet and stronger opiates to something not as strong or has the high potential to be abused. I also received an injection (was hesitant to try another one but relented) 3 weeks ago and it has helped tremendously. I’ve not been in this little pain for years! Very satisfied so far

I was a self pay patient when I first went there. It cost over 600.00 for my first appointment. My appointment was scheduled with Dr. Johnson. When I got there, I was told I had been switched to a PA. Then I was put in a tiny uncomfortable spot to answer a bunch of questions that seemed to me to be totally irrelevant. At least half of them were non applicable in my situation but I had to answer them anyway. I told the girl up front that the answers were not going to be correct because they did not apply to me. Then I was off to the PA who made me do a lot of extremely painful tricks. That took about an hour. His answer was well, the good news is your pain is real, but I cant help you because of the questionnaire . Then I was scheduled for another expensive appointment with their psychologist. She asked me why I was there, I told her I wasnt sure, I knew the problems with the question sheets, but I told her the doctors would not help me until I talked with her. She told me you are not handling your pain very well, I cant help you. That was the entire session, I spent a total of 6 minutes with her. I have 4 ruptured discs, one cracked, one jagged, arthritis, disc degeneration disease, several pinched nerves, and spinal stenosis. I think I handle my pain very well. They made me feel like some sort of demented hypochondriac. They had no care for me at all, only my money. They wont get any more of it. On my last visit I was quoted a price of 26.00 for a urinalysis, when I went to check out they wanted 300.00. I have never seen a sorrier bunch of health professionals in my life. Ive since, gotten my disability and I ended up going back to Raleigh for a good doctor. My advice, if you are in legitimate pain, dont waste your time. It seems the people who sell their meds on the street dont have any problems at all getting help there.

They need someone to manage their office. The providors are chronically late to see the patients and it seems to be the acceptable practice. They are quick to receive your co-pay and then you sit in the waiting area for 30-60 minutes past your appointment time for the provider to walk in for a 10 minute visit. If the provider needs more time with the patients then schedule it!

Now I will start off with I am not a current customer of this facility, however, some of my customers are and this is on behalf of them. This clinic lacks the actual professionalism I would expect of medical professionals. This place from what my customers tell me, has placed or wants to place them in great harm by pushing their medicinal agenda. Basically what gets them paid. Proactively I would ask they review the peer reviewed and verifiable scientific data (ps: Doctors are taught this in school...remember!) in regards to Kratom. This clinic is turning people away and have ZERO idea what they are doing to patients. I would strongly recommend two things: 1- have your director watch a leaf of faith on Netflix and 2- go to americankratom.org and look at the factual scientific data that the fda is failing to recognize. It’s all about money and it’s high time these doctors do what right for their patients! It about harm reduction...not a damn paycheck.

Been going to JPM in Jacksonville for a few years now. Had previously discussed with my PA about the Spinal Cord Stimulator Trial. So I made an appointment. It was a month out and by the time the appointment came around I had a mix up with my Daughters Doc appointment so I had to cancel mine . Well they charged me $50.00 and told me I wouldnt be able to reschedule that appointment until I paid it. On my next visit I did pay it and tried to make another appointment. However only after paying the $50.00 was I told that I wouldnt be able to make an actual appointment but I was to call in randomly to see if there were any cancellations. Having a 4 year old who I was told was not allowed to go to that appointment with me, was impossible. Fast forward a few months and I was finally able to make an actual appointment. So I go like scheduled and not until I get there am I told that I have a $50.00 copay bc that specific doctor doesnt take one of my insurances!. Was never told any of this beforehand! So Im completely done with that office!. The Jacksonville and Sneads Ferry offices are like night and day! I now only go to Jacksonville office for my injections. Otherwise I stay far away from them. I know my doctor has stayed late and called my PCD when something wasnt going right for me. She refused to let them get away with it.She has made sure that my pain is being managed. She doesnt just give me meds and thats it. She gives information on a natural way to deal with the issue before trying any medication which I appreciate because I dont want to take anymore medication.I recommend this place to anyone suffering from chronic pain. I had been going to Johnston Pain for the better part of a year and my experience with them was just bad. The employees at this center made me feel frustrated and unheard, they were borderline rude at times and really didnt seem to want to be there most of the time. One of the PAs at my previous center blatantly ignored me for most of one of my appointments. Another PA ignored that I had already had extensive conversations with my previous Dr. and we determined that PT and pain medication combined were the options I was going to go continue That Dr. had explained that the blocker or cortizone shots would not work due to the several issues that were going on in my back. I felt like I was profiled by several of their employees, I was ignored and that they didnt care what I had already determined with my previous doctor (oh and I had brought in all of my medical records from the previous Doc showing all of this)Over a period of several months they continued to ignore me while going through with the shots and having to deal with ridiculous amounts of anxiety and pain for them to finally say okay heres a prescription now.Im not sure why they repeatedly not only ignored me but argued on a couple of occasions on how my own body reacted to the medications I had been on and were currently on. Maybe they had the excuse to do everything that wasnt done, even though my Dr. Already determined it wouldnt work, so they did for their own monetary profit at the expense of my own building bills. I was even given a prescription of something I was being prescribed by another doctor which I tried to explain but again I was ignored.Seriously, I wouldnt recommend Johnston Pain Management to my worst enemy. Dont waste your time. Im now with Dr. Auman at Crystal Coast Pain Management and I am so happy to leave behind all the anxiety and pain.

Dr. Johnston accepted me as a new patient - just as I decided that I was going to submit medical retirement papers. He spent quality time with me explaining the possibilities ahead of me through his treatment plan. After just 2 months I had a reduction in pain of over 60%. I have rescinded my retirement package. My initial consultation at JPM Clinic in Jacksonville was painful, time consuming, cold and practically accusatory. I was there for more than three-and-a-half hours yet never saw an MD. I dont mind in the least seeing a good PA, but for a first time visit (after having worked in the medical field as a nurse for more than 45 years) the patient should see a dr. My reccomendation is explore more than one provider for your pain management needs. Im sure there are many people who swear by the place, and good for them; however theyre a little bit too rigid particularly with an aging population whose chief complaints involve severe, chronic pain. There are other options for pain management in the Jacksonville area and I encourage anyone whos looking for a balanced medical assessment, not a expedition looking only to protect themselves from a deepening distrust of anyone seeking genuine pain relief and a care plan tailored for an individuals medical requirements, to explore more than JPM.

So i was referred to this clinic for an L5 injection VIA my surgeon and was told the Friday before my Monday morning appointment to fast and take no medications 24 hours prior to the visit. Verified i had a driver upon registration (getting an injection). I was 2 hours into the visit when the doctor finally came in and sat down. The doctor then tells me there are no injections scheduled for the day. By now im starving and obviously irritable so maybe i came across a tad sarcastic when i asked why i wasnt receiving the injection i was sent for and dressed in a gown if it was just a consultation? It was then that i began putting my clothes back on and just requested my personal things, said they could keep the $100 copay if i could just leave in peace. It would seem someone dropped the communication ball somewhere or else i would have been dressed the entire time, belly full, and not in as much pain. This type of clinic may be right for some folks but im old school and demand my money pay for personal service not cookie cutter pill puppet service.

ANY MEDICATION PERSCRIOTION CAN BE ABUSED! Besides that because he imeditatly took me off them (and with how long I had be taking them) I went through withdrawals (like anyone else on that medication would do). I was forced to use Johnson Pain Management through Tri-Care. I have been very unhappy with the staff since begining my treatment there. There has been times were I was forced to wait for over an our in the treatment room without a provider in sight. On two different occasions I had to walk out of the room to reschedule do to the fact that I had to pick up my daughters from school. Well today.......was it for me. Back in June I had my last appointment with this clinic when I almost begged them for a reminder phone call because of the medicine (Topamax) that I take which can cause short term memory loss. They assured me that I would receive that phone call. I never received a phone call to remind me of my appointment. So, today...due to extreme pain I am forced to take severe back and neck pain and I was told to call my provider at this clinic for an emergency visit. Well...I called and left a message, barely being able to talk due to the pain.......I get a phone call back from the staff informing me that you can not be seen until you pay the $25 for a missed appointment back in July.. I informed them that I never received a phone call and that I can bring my phone records to prove it. So, they went on to say well we really dont have to call you its your responsibility. Then Im asked to bring the bill in for proof...not 3 minutes later I get another phone call from the childish staff saying oh thats ok about your bill...because it will not show a missed call but, you still cant be seen until you pay your $25........So you mean to tell me...the hell with all of the pain that you are experiencing....until you pay up...we cant do anything for you because, you owe us $25....I know for sure that tricare has paid this place over $10-$15,000 and they want to deny me treatment for $25....The sad thing about this is...this is a learned behavior......its coming from the top down and I will be sure to continue to complain to Tri-Care and the Naval Hospital about the service that we are getting from this money hungry place.......The pain that Im experiencing can not wait for another consult so, I have to see them as soon as possible but, as soon as my concult is up with this place.....I will request another pain management clinic regardless to how far I have to travel.....I advise any Active Duty, Retire or any Family Members to stay clear of this place.......

He also has a scam going with the psychologist there. Before he would give me the steroid injections he insisted that I see his partner Dr Drebach a shrink. When I showed up for the appointment they told me that my insurance would not cover it. They lied. I only had $45 in my wallet and they wanted $80. I told them I would bring back the rest of the money right after I saw the shrink. They would not go for that. Clearly they were scamming. They ended up billing my insurance for the missed appointment. I think that the plan all along was double dipping.I also witnessed his staff being rude to a Marine and his wife.
