Facility is fine, but (some of) the staff complain about dumb things (Like dropping weights). Not like I throw them, but dropping two 100 lb DBs ain’t something that’s gonna have a soft landingI get it, you can’t press massive amounts of weight like myself.Keep the envy for a place where I’m not PAYING to lift weights.If you’d like to show me how to put the weight down softly, try going through my workout. Very simple.This is a gym. Treat it as such.If I wanted to go to bingo night or the library, there’s other facilities like that.Otherwise, weight selection is decent, cardio machine selection good, tennis court is big, good pool, etc

They really do try hard. I go weekdays and off times so the gym is never crowded. They have plenty of machines and equipment so you dont have to stand around waiting to take a turn. Its a lot cheaper than the JCA but more expensive than Baileys. Women are comfortable in the gym.

Love this Y. It’s older but the people are very nice and the place is always well kept up.

I am new to the Y. However I am very impressed with the facility. They have something to offer all age groups.

Best gym for the price and they have child care, well worth it. Only negative I wish they had some steam rooms. And those few creeper dudes that follow my wife around when she is working out. yeah but what gym dosnt have those guys.

Had a great experience at the Williams family YMCA.The reason for my visit is because I had seen a commercial on TV that said that for small children in the Jacksonville area they could come in for swimming assessment for free.The free swimming assessment was awesome we walked in we went to the main desk we got a visitors pass which I understand you get to per year and then they took us out to the pool they got a lifeguard and my daughter got her free swimming assessment.Great experience and definitely recommend if you like sports.

Weve been members of this Y for over 16 years and love it. However, you need more swim instructors. Having 8 school aged children in a single class does not work well especially when the classes start 10 to 15 minutes late.

This review is for their gym. I enjoy working out here and I have a decent deal through work. I would award more stars, but the weight room gets crowded fast with only one squat rack, no power rack, and limited space for free weights. Also, the kids can get in the way from time to time. The equipment is great even though there is too much machine and not enough free weight. The cardio space is great and there is even a heavy bag.

Extremely nice facility. Very, very nice gym with plenty of space along with a well kept pool and tennis courts. Only problem is that the basketball court is much overdue for a wax. The court is very slippery and difficult to play on if you dont constantly wipe the bottom of your shoes.

The facilities are nice and most of the staff are quite friendly, however I have to give them 1 star for the extremely poor experience my wife and I had as volunteer coaches. I am a long time fan and member of the Y and I grew up playing basketball at Dupont. I have volunteered before but this last experience was not only disappointing but very upsetting. I will try to make a very long story short. I volunteered to coach an U17 bball team who had no coach just days before the season was to begin. I was given a roster of 6 kids, one of them was 13 and was in the wrong age group. The first game I had a kid foul out and had to play with 4. I reached out to the sports director who did not respond. It turned out that that person stepped down or quit. The interim sports director informed me that I could add some kids to the roster and that due to all the issues with how poorly the league was organized those kids fees would be covered. All they would have to do would be to have their parents sign waivers. Those three kids did sign waivers and I handed them to the font desk myself. For some reason over the course of the season, the interim sports director, the executive director, and the 3rd and final sports director all kept asking me about these kids and why they werent on the original roster. I explained them the answer, told them their names for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th times and assured them they had signed the waivers and I turned them in myself. These kids played all season long and as we enter into our semi-final playoff game my team is informed at the tip off that we will forfeit the game because we have 3 ineligible players that have not signed waivers. Not only is that untrue, here is the real Kicker, THEY STILL LET THEM PLAY THE GAME!!! They said you guys can go ahead and play but it wont count and you cant play in the championship game tomorrow! Can you believe that?! It is absolutely ridiculous how they handled the situation and down right idiotic. There were so many different ways they could have handled the situation and could have made it right. I practically begged the executive director to just at least call the other coach and see if he would even be willing to give us a rematch and he wasnt willing to do it. He also told me that this was about the kids. The YMCA lost our waivers and not once through 5 different staff members, or 3 different sports directors did they communicate this. Not once did they ask me to have my players sign new waivers, if so I would have done it. It was quite easy in the first place! They were unwilling to admit their mistake and own up to the consequences and decided to make my guys suffer instead. About the kids they said. The executive director even told me Im probably making the wrong decision here. It was so bad that they offered my team a refund. I told them you are offering the wrong team a refund. Communicate your mistake to the other team, ask them for a rematch, and if they are unwilling then you give them a refund. But no. Its really sad. And you deserve to know. I would not put my kids in this YMCA sports program until they get things back on track. Very very sad.

Great facility with friendly people and many progress

This YMCA has a wonderful staff they are all very kind and caring! It’s a great place to workout, it’s a safe environment for children and teens to learn the disciplines of staying healthy and Christy is the best spin instructor. I also love all the sports programs every coach my kids have had through the years have been fantastic.

It has everything to help you get in shape. Love the stretching machine.

The workout equipment overlooks the tennis courts, trees & pool. The facility is old but nice. This place is friendly, safe, informative, family atmosphere! 10 star staff & people!

Nice facility and staff. They offer two free trial visits before charging a fee. Has all of the weight and cardio equipment I would expect from a well equipped gym. Didnt take any classes.

My 1yr old has had a hard time adjusting to being dropped off in daycare. After 3 months of constant tears, I was considering dropping the gym. I told a staff member that and the next time I came, she took my son off by himself with her and spent the whole time one-on-one with him. She said she didnt want me to give up, but she understood my struggle. What a blessing! Hes doing much better and we are regulars now!

Great equipment, well air conditioned. Guests can go twice a year free, after that only $10.

Basketball league is AWFUL. After 3 seasons and 2 of them for free because of the Y giving refunds we are trying something else next year that is more competitive, with better coaches who are knowledgeable to the game.

The pool is great and they even supply some pool toys to play with. They have a big gym and the employees are really great!

Kids love the indoor basketball courts. You can cool off in the pool after your workout !

Decent gym. Would have more stars, but the gym lacks squat racks (there is only one), there are no power racks, and there are no good, round weights for deadlifts. The gym also tends to attract too many kids, especially teens.

Clean, friendly, and judgement free. The front desk staff is amazing. I love working out here on a daily basis.

Nick a Taekwondo instructor and a personal trainer is AWESOME! He has taken into account my sons previous experience with Taekwondo, and has advised him to take it slow returning! Well worth more than Im paying!😀

So far, I like the facility and staff. One of the biggest things that drew us to the Y was the unique Kidzone areas. When we toured the Y, we were shown the different areas for different age groups and my kids were excited. (which puts us at ease) However, everytime we’ve been there the older kidzone section is closed. My son is very upset that he has to sit with a bunch of crying babies and screaming toddlers when there is a perfectly good older kids section right next door.

I wanted to go because I want a decent workout and then go swimming but the prices I backed off, but theres a scale you can meet if you are of a lower income or on medicar. Didnt see more of anything the girl looked and sounded busy. She should have offered a tour though.

A spacious gym with lots of good and well maintained machines and workout options but the locker rooms show the gyms age and there is no towel service at this location.

I have been a member for almost a year and have had a great time there from swimming lessons for kids to working with personal trainers to get in shape all around great place

The saddest part of this is that I actually enjoyed being close to this YMCA and being able to use it, but my problem stems from membership cancellation.I called in to see about canceling my memebership- I moved and no longer live close to the YMCA and no longer have one close to me. I wasn’t told I needed a special wait time or anything, the person who answered just said I needed to email a certain email and request to cancel my membership. I verified the email and everything and then sent my email. I heard nothing back- no reply, no call, nothing. A few days go by and Michelle Kennedy emails me for payment- and I was explaining to her that I was no longer wanting the membership and had emailed, as instructed, to cancel it. Apparently you need a 30 days notice- which has I known wouldn’t have confused me as much. When I explained that I was told that her responses was that I would need to discuss the matter with the YMCA staff and they would be able to address it. MIND YOU I STILL HAVENT RECIEVED A RESPONSE TO MY FIRST EMAIL. They have taken the money for the remainder of the month- though I am not able to utilize the facility or any other ones, but I still haven’t even gotten a shread of communication about my cancelation. If you don’t want the hassle of trying to end your membership, I suggest looking at another location/branch. There are other YMCAs that are nicer in facility as well as customer service

The Y is always a good place to stop by for a quick workout or yoga! Aqua Zumba is amazing too! Piyo is my new jam though. Top it off with a Body pump class. #Niceday

My grandchildren take a 1 hour p.e. class there twice a week because they are homeschooled. It is a great set up, clean and the employees are always helpful and polite.

I got this membership so I can play basketball, every time I go there they have some other activities there. Be aware of that.

Im a child going to the ymca playing basketball I have the best coach he is strict but also fun I could not have any more fun anywhere else

Been at member since the opening 1995. Tennis members are charged a extra assessment fee because of high maintenance costs of tennis courts. Tennis court conditions are very poor and need attention.

Hate this branch, canceled my membership 2 months ago, and they told me that they will not charge me for next month since I canceled with 1 month notice according to their rules and guidelines. To my surprise, I wake up this morning April 10th and I found that theyre still charging my debit even though I canceled almost 2 months ago. RIP OFF
