About 6 months ago I had an appointment for my daughter and I. They canceled her apt because the Dr had an emergency(didnt bother calling or texting),but kept mine. Ff to today my husband had an appointment took off work early. Arrived 20 minutes early to find out they canceled his appointment as well, but again didnt bother to notify him. Its one thing to cancel an appointment thats fine, but let your customers know! We have jobs and families too.

On the day of my appointment the doctor was 20 minutes late. I was in the waiting area and he rushed passed me, then he came out playing it cool like I didn’t just see him walk in late. From a professional perspective I was expecting an apology for the delay, because I understand things happen at times…nothing. It took less than 5 minutes to complete my eye “exam”. Asked if I had any questions…as he walked out the exam room. Disappointing because I’ve been a customer for a few years and as much as want to love America’s Best I think I’ll look elsewhere.

Lorie is absolutely wonderful. She went above and beyond to help me with my Eye Glasses today. COVID effected my family very hard in many ways. For her to help me the way she did today was a gift. That lady working your front desk is very rude. Everyone that works there seemed unhappy..no greeting. I helped myself trying on glasses and was told every pair I try on would need to be cleaned by the staff. It seemed the lady at the front desk was bothered by me wanting to try on designer frames also. Tried on one pair of designer frames that wasnt locked and when I went to take the another one off the lady approached me to let me know I wouldnt be able to unless she unlocked them and walked off. I dont know who the Manager is at this location , I walked out and took my business to a Eyeglass World.

So, I made an appointment almost two weeks ago. My appointment was at 6pm today. When I approached the front desk I was told that I wouldnt be seen because I was too late. I looked at my phone and it was 6:03. The receptionist looked amused and said that if 6 oclock appointments arent exactly on time, the Dr leaves (in a tone like I should have expected it). She says shell check with the Dr. She returns and says the Dr wont see me and smuggly asks if I would like to reschedule.I didnt Karen out or or argue or even vent frustration because that lady obviously didnt care. I just left.I made this appointment two weeks ago for contacts because my wedding is three weeks from now, and now I have to spend my day tomorrow praying I can find another appointment soon somewhere else.I have never even heard of being refused for being 3 minutes late before for anything - especially when I filled out my new patient paperwork online days before.I dont know if the receptionist was so amused because she enjoys seeing someone upset or if shes just used to seeing this. Either way, this was a terrible experience.

Same great prices but customer service & organization is much better here. The pace of service too however due to the covid19 pandemic I will admit getting an immediate appointment is difficult at any location

Ridiculous. We purchased glasses online and then went to the store to have them fitted for my daughter. Workers refused to serve us simply for having a medical reason to not wear a mask for a child! Wouldnt even accommodate us outside. Dont even bother.Update: the rep at corporate was super nice and tried to find a solution. The only option was to meet the district manager at another location. We missed the DM and had to convince the worker to adjust the frames for us while we stood outside in the cold. Side note: Her mask didnt even fit properly and she had to touch and adjust it several times while we waited. The mask requirements are irrational for a pandemic with a 99.97% survival rate. Allow for medical freedom of choice (after it is still America, right?!) and you can win back our loyalty. Im leaving it 1 star for this location because they still didnt serve us. The other store served us reluctantly only after I told them the district manager would have served us outside... just like days of segregation. 🙄

Hello Nancy I just drove 60 miles round trip to your river city location in jax Fl. for an app. that they rescheduled because of the Dr had a death in the family is what I was told. I took a day off work to do this and was told that she could not find my app. But then was told she found it and I had missed it by 2 hours. She told me they could not see us but when she did the rescheduled I ask her twice the time and was told and wrote it down. That person is clueless and needs to be removed. I came there 3 years ago and the crew that was in there then was great. You need to look into this soon before you lose all your customers. I will not be back also it was an app. for me and my wife so you lost 2 customers. Have a good day.

Horrific staff, negligent optometrist, they belittle your knowledge ,and continue to cut you off to save themselves do not go here it is a scam!!!!!The only reason they received a star is so I could leave a review. Order me the wrong color glasses, they could not adjust them correctly, had to go 3 times, finally went to a different eye glass store. Tried calling to ask about switching contact brands, was on hold for 15 minutes, never got to me. Decided to call a MI location I went to in the past and they were great no wait at all. Also no longer like Sofmed breathable XW. They no longer last the 30 days. I’m lucky to get 15 days.

This place is very unprofessional. I thought I was at a block party instead of a eye doctors office. My children and I have been going here for a while. My past two visits for my children was horrible. I made an appointment on a Saturday for my kids. They didn’t have anything for a month. I done this because it’s a hour drive there and I didn’t want to take my kids out of school early. I received a call the Thursday before my appt to notify me there will not be anyone there to order contacts or glasses. Didn’t understand that...we went my children seen the eye doctor and the staff upfront was sitting around being loud and telling each other stories about how they have been rude on the phone to customers. This was crazy. We had to return a second time to order the glasses and contacts. It was my daughters first time for contacts. She was trying hard at putting them in and while doing this we were not aware you’re only given 30 min till we were given the 9 minute countdown.! . She was nervous at never had done this before the worker kept giving a count down you have 9 minutes and you have 4 minutes. This is crazy. I tried speaking with the manager and she didn’t give a flip about my drive or any dealings our earlier visit. There was no I’m sorry she actually just looked at me like I was crazy with no response at all. They are making us return to do this again. While waiting to do this the staff was loud laughing, playing and having a good ole time including this same manager. Once their glasses and contacts come in we will NOT ever come back here.

The team was fast, polite and patient. I was impressed by the doctor as he not only examed my eyes but he took the time to educate me on my results. Most doctors will explain your results and you still leave out without fully understanding what they are. I would highly recommend

Dr. Hay was great, he was much better than the so called professional I had gone to earlier. He took the time to explain my problems to me. Most of all he was was HONEST.The office staff was wonderful, the young was very patient with me as my allergies aggregated the exam.😊😊

I had an eye exam with Dr. Hay and he spent most of time talking about personal matters and he appeared not to be paying attention to the exam. The assistant who assisted me getting glasses was helpful but she told me Dr. Hay had marked the incorrect information for the eyeglass prescription. I would definitely not go to him again

The office staff was very nice and professional, but whenever I came to pick up my glasses I was not allowed. I received an automated message from them saying I could come pick them up at anytime. That was not the case. I made a 30 minute drive for no reason and I had to come back to get them.

I made an appointment for my daughter back in March and due to the pandemic they called to say they had to cancel and would call when they opened back up. Clearly it is open and I NEVER received a call to reschedule. You shouldn’t tell your customers that you would call when you open back up and never call them! I guess I will have to take my business (5 people in my household where glasses) elsewhere since they don’t even have the decency to call their customers back!

I stopped by last Saturday morning, without an appointment, because the nose piece on my glasses had came off causing the metal to cut my nose. This was during the shutdown for the pandemic and only customers with appointments were allowed inside. The staff person that answered the door took my glasses to see if they could repair. After a few minutes she returned and she had replaced both my nose pieces and tightened my frame. They felt like brand new glasses. The lady did not charge me anything even though I offered to pay. This is the 2nd time I have purchased glasses from Americas Best and you can be sure I will go there when time for my 3rd pair. Thanks to the entire staff for taking care of people during the COVID19. They could have easily turned me away. Wishing all good health.

My mom and I walked into this location to get quotes on an eye exam and glasses. We were also checking to see if they accepted our insurance. Not a single staff member gave a friendly attitude. They were very rude and treated us like we were such a burden. Needless to say, we left and never went back. Looking at all of the other negative reviews from years ago that tell the same story regarding the staff’s behavior, it’s insane to me that the place hasn’t been shut down yet! Do not go here! Unprofessionalism shouldn’t be getting any business.

Absolutely worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I needed a new trial pair and they told me to come pick them up. So I drove 2 hours to get them because my prescription is so bad there hard to find in stock. I get there and I’m told they don’t have my script. I asked them to call around to see if any other stores would have them. They said no one would have them in stock. They refused to help me by calling around. I then found another location same company that had them. I wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. Unless you want to be treated like a pos.

I have been going here for years. I drive an hour to get to them. There are plenty to go to that are closer, but I prefer to stick with the staff at the River City Location. They know us. And they are always the friendliest people. I highly recommend going there.

I have to say moving to a new city has been a crazy experience and a good one at the same time.. hardest part has been changing doctors! I was having a crazy mix up with my contacts from my previous eye doctor with my contacts and the Manager here went above and beyond to get it fixed for me I must say thank you again! My plans. To use this company for my wife and I. We will not. Why? Read the reviews which are overwhelmingly negative. The responses by management to those customers who wrote negative reviews were were equally negative ie. ...they were obviously canned. I think the better business agency needs to investigate. Maybe the local TV station program called, Tell Ken should investigates this optical store.

I agree with the other low rating reviews. Fees are not mentioned when going in for services (even when you make it clear what you are there for). You are told one thing at check in & at checkout its another story. Employees gossip about customers while the customers are still in the store as well ( or wait until customers leave, talk about me to my face please). Female doctor and one other associate were nice during the exam. The last associate I dealt with had a passive aggressive attitude which wasnt nice. Listen to your customers before inputting your opinion and leave the gossip at home. Thank you 😊.

I had an amazing experience. I broke my glasses and only had prescription shades. I went here and they gave me an eye exam that day. The wait wasnt long. I got two great pair of glasses for $69 and they only took a week to come in. I would recommend to everyone.

The staff was great for my wife and I vist today . the staffer Debra was great and very helpful. So when u go here make sure u ask for her . while she was helping my wife I noticed her rewards she had received in 2017 and 2018 and I am sure she will have one for 2019 . with my wife being in a wheelchair the staff was very helpful and very patience . thank u staff and thanks Debra .

You truly get what you pay for. Theres a reason they are so cheap. Between waiting almost 2 hours for a scheduled appointment to getting a pair of glasses that rusts in three weeks it truly explains itself. To top it off the staff talks to you like youre stupid when you inquire about why they sell cheap metal frames that end up rusting in a short amount of time. Their response? Its your body chemistry and you just need to get plastic frames. Hate to break it to you, but thats not at all how this works. Worst experience ever and will in no situation ever go back.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!The staff is rude and inconsiderate. I came in for an eye exam, they informed me they did not have my trial pair in stock and would have to order them. I called to check to see if they had received my contacts and was informed that they had not yet been ordered. I have no contacts in my eyes. They were supposed to fax my prescriptions I never received that either. Then they had the nerve to be rude as if the mistake wasn’t made on they’re behalf.

Went in for new glasses after many years. Doctor: Left eye, is this better or this better? Right eye, is this better or this better? Thats it. Didnt bother to fine-tune any further and told me that was all that was needed when I questioned him and told him everything still looked blurry. When I picked up my glasses, I told the associate I couldnt see well out of them, things were blurry. She had me hold the paper up in the air in front of my face which was only slightly better. I told her this would be hard to do with my computer keyboard. She said my eyes needed time to adjust since it had been so long between eye exams. Said to give it 30 days. I went back in 30 days and was given the same runaround. I just left in disgust. I still have trouble seeing clearly out of these two pairs of glasses I wasted my money on.

I have to say I am severely disappointed. I went there and got 2 pairs of glasses for $65, not a month later, the arm fell off the one pair, I took them in and they said there is nothing they could do to fix them. I know it was good pricing, but I dont feel I got my moneys worth, I have had the other pair gor 5 months now and even they are falling apart and I dont dare go in and be laughed at. They are rude, made mw wait 20 minutes just to tell me they couldnt help me. Needless to say I will not be going back, I am not recommending this place to my friends either, the parking outside the building is horrible as well although that is not the companys fault. I had my eyes examined received two pairs of glasses. I had my two granddaughters go there also. Will on all 6 pairs of glasses the leg broke off. My granddaughters are in ga. My daughter took mine in to fix them and told here I had to take them somewhere to fix them. Out of 6 glasses and the leg on all of them broke. This is not right than they say they cant fix them and have to take them somewhere else to get them fix. Very upset with this office

Already had prescription. Staff were friendly and helpful. The eyeglasses were exactly what I ordered. Only problem--Bottom of glass case was clearly marked Made in China. I believe the glasses were made in the USA. Not sure about frames? Would like the company to stand behind their name and only buy materials and cases made in the USA by American workers. Hope this reaches the company VPs for their consideration of this proposal.Again, products and staff were great but if you are going to boast Americas best, make sure the materials used are made in the USA.

Had an appt. at 5 was seen 10 minutes later but she acted like she was in a hurry and I was in and out within 5 minutes for my eye exam. ( 2 minutes later she is out the door) Then 40 minutes later was seen to order my new glasses. The advertisement clearly says $69.99 for 2 glasses. And free eye exam. Well, $111.00 dollars later I asked why? And she stated its the $59.99 glasses only. This is false advertisement and very misleading. Will not ever set foot in there again and will make sure to get the word out how they are misleading with their practices. Did I mention that just one year prior they had me 2.75 now Im 2.25 in one years time my eyes dropped that much. Picking up glasses this Saturday and will not be back!

Been with them since 2012 always pay $85 for my color contacts. Now all of sudden they have went up on the price. No warning or nothing. With the eye care club they are $200! So that defeats the purpose for me having the care club. Definitely just lost a loyal customer.

Honestly, you get what you pay for. The rates are great, the wait time isnt that bad. However, i got some metal frames and within a month theyre beginning to oxidize which is leaving some nice green warpaint on the sides of my face.Edit - very rarely do i lower my rating of a place but wow, The negligence actually hurts. According to the chemists that work here, i have a weird chemical makeup in my blood which causes metal to rust when i sweat. Its the strangest thing, truly. They got my money once, this mutant wont make that mistake twice.

I came in on a Monday and waited an hour before they told me there was no pre examiner and they could reschedule my appointment. After rescheduling for the following day I went through the whole process for which my insurance should have covered and they told me my insurance wouldn’t cover it but my father came here a week ago and got his glasses with complete insurance coverage. Then I left after paying a fee they figured out they had the wrong patients insurance!!! Then I had to drive all the way back just to get refunded!! Ridiculous service just horrible overall experience.

Edit:Was contacted today 01/03/2018 by the general manager of Americas Best, he expressed interest in my visit and said they would speak to the staff to address the issues. Contacts and glasses both have a 10 day order time. From order date to pick up and they schedule an appointment to check fitment.Second visit with an appointment and had to wait over 30min before getting seen just for the initial screening. Waste of time. Slow getting glasses in once ordered.

The Dr. was nice and informed but service was terrible!!! After we were seen we waited 45 min to get a contact fitting. We had an appointment. Contact person went on break, I guess after the person before us, with us sitting there. We saw her just wondering around back. You don’t send the only employee handling something on break with customers waiting. 5 glasses patient were waited on before us and they saw the Dr. after we did. Ridiculous. We finally asked for prescription and paid for exam. Scripts are written for only brands they carry!! Do not go here!!! Rip off!!!!

I felt like I was constantly explaining myself and when i asked to speak with the Dr. he acted as if I was a problem but tried to hide it lol.The old lady with the Jerry Curl was nice but a little passive aggressive.One was mean and condescending, she was extremely negative and appeared to want to prove something, I even heard her talk about me to another co-worker. I ended up order 5 pair of glasses on line with high index lenses much cheaper which i needed and Jerry Curl was the only one who slightly mentioned that option at this store.

Went here so my fiancé could get her eyes checked. We made an appointment but still had to wait 30 minutes after our appointment time to be seen. The doctor we seen was impatient and rude. In the process of asking him questions he would cut us off and restate what he said. Any other time you go to any doctor they answer your questions and help you understand what is wrong. They did not do this here. It was like they were rushing us to get out because they were busy.

This is the best eyeglass place I have ever been to. I broke my glasses went in on the 16th ordered a replacement pair and they said it would be 10 business days. However I called the 20th and they were in within two business days. I will forever be a customer here. They are warm and welcoming & their workers are polite and very helpful.

I had saw Dr Hogan a few times & even though Id told him I still didnt feel comfortable with how I was seeing I finally gave up & just dealt with it. He was rude & unprofessional in my opinion when I questioned him about not being able to see as well I should. Then Nov 4, 2017 I saw Dr Xin & what a difference! She got me seeing better, she even saw something with my optic nerve that he had missed and sent to Mayo Clinic to be checked out. Dr Xin is definitely the best Dr there.

I called and made an appointment earlier and asked if they were really busy, I had a busy day and could do it another day if possible but I was in pain and wanted to get it checked out. Now, an hour after my appointment, Im not the only upset customer in here. Three people walked out while I was checking in and I should have known better. Unfortunately these people are just terribly slow. Behind over an hour, Ive seen four patients come in and leave in the time that Ive sat here and waited for my appointment. Not to mention, these people act like its hard to smile and have a decent attitude about their day. I love Americas Best, but this place is my least favorite one. I will not return here and I will not recommend it to anyone, family, friend, or enemy.

Both my husband and I saw Dr Hogan, he smelled like cigarettes, washed his hands and gargled mouth wash right in front of us, I told him that he smelled like cigarettes, he told me Thank you. While checking out I told the receptionist and she said well usually he smells like booze. Very unhappy with having to pay for an exam by an elderly Dr that smelled of cigarettes. We do not feel comfortable with the prescription he gave us for glasses so we are both going to a different Dr. If you go to this location and you get a weird feeling, follow your gut. Leave! Dont pay them for a check up that made me feel like I was getting my eyes checked by a drunk, smelly person pushing glasses. I am going to ask for my money back ASAP!

Worst customer service I have ever had. I ordered my contacts through them and after two weeks of waiting I found out THEY ordered the wrong prescription. I called and was going to have them reordered through them but I would have to wait two more weeks. I couldnt get them express shipped or anything. So I requested a refund. I cant even get my money back for a week. They said it has to be processed. I will never step foot back in their stores again ! I am so Furious!

The service is just lacking hence why the price is so low but $350 later isnt all that cheap but whatever on the price.. first I wasnt explained anything the first trip about lenses which im new to glasses and I told them this..I recieved a prescription ands thought when i picked out my frames, the prescription lenses would be put in them. Seems the staff was uneducated on glasses and mostly did contacts which required me to have to come back..they make it right but failed to mention, hey bring the nearsighted glasses back and were going to put the right lenses in with both nearsighted and farsighted ability.I never even wore the glasses because when I removed them to read, it gave me headaches trying to refocus. So, they were at home because I was not informed to bring them back or I would have preferred to leave them there. Now, Ive wasted another trip to pick up the glasses, and still do not get my glasses.. last time I spend my $$ here for glasses.. terrible experience..

I was a little apprehensive after reading about Americas Best reputation nationally.- high pressure sales is their specialty- but I didnt get any of that. Dr. Morgan was most kind and considerate. My vision had been getting slightly worse and I guessed something was wrong. The doctor very carefully showed me what was happening in my right eye (cataracts) and said my prescription would soon change so dont spend a lot on glasses right now.Pamela was great not pressuring me to buy more expensive frames and letting me get away with only tinting one pair of glasses.All in all a reasonable experience - except for the news about my cataracts! -Darn.

I have been sitting here waiting for over an hour, on a scheduled appointment, and every single staff member that has interacted with me has been rude. I do not recomend a single person to come to this store. Worse than waiting in the ER on a busy night!

Ive been wearing glasses since I was 10 I am now 30 This has been one of the worst place Ive ever been to!!! Says walk in welcome on the front door, I get there nobody was in the store waiting I had to make an appointment for 30 mins from the time I walked in so I waited for the the time I came back I waited and hour n half after my appointment time to even be seen!!!! Now Im here waiting in my car for the doctor to come in its almost 10am they open at 9am still no doctor!!! I am not going to be able to get my glasses today I drove 30 mins for nothing!!! I have a luncheon with my 7 year old daughter Im not missing!!! This place really needs to get it together !!!! This place is a joke!!!! If I could of have them 0 stars I would!!!

I have not received my glasses yet but did want to respond to the appointment with the optician who was impatient up to the point of rudeness. He interrupted and did not allow me to carefully choose options with my prescription. He did find that my previous prescription was not adjusted for an astigmatism which has been giving me a problem. Thankful for that but he interrupted me when I tried to compliment him and thank him for this. A little cusomer service skills lacking here....

Frankly, I am surprised by so many negative reviews here. So, I want to make a point and write about our experiences here. Yes, they are VERY busy here...one needs to know that and make sure to allow time for their visit. One should not expect a fast in and out for professional care. We had good eye exams and the Dr. was concerned about a situation with my eyes. So, he wrote me a referral to my local Opthamologist, an extra precaution which was appreciated. Then, we had a very patient person who helped us pick out just the right frames. She gave suggestions as to size and shape would work best for each of us. She gave better assistance than anywhere weve ever been. We both chose two pairs of glasses, so it took a bit of time for us to find just the right FOUR pairs. Our helper was very patient. Ten months later (last month) our new puppy ran off with my glasses when I was asleep and he chewed them into many pieces. I called AMC&E to have them re-order a pair for me as I figured that was my easiest and least expensive way to replace them. I amazed and thrilled to find out my glasses they were covered by warranty and would be replaced for free if I brought in the pieces of my old pair. We tell everyone...WE LOVE AMERICAs BEST!!!

Manager and workers have a bad attitude, when they are asked for help or to assist with something. My husband was told his glasses would be ready by the 26th, and he went there on the 29th to pick them up. He state that three people quoted him the same statement which was didnt nobody call you yet. As if to say why are you here? Employee was mad because she had to look through the box to find them and they were there of course. Then she laid them on the counter and walked away while he waited for her to come back just to say they have to be inspected. We pay too much money there. He said he will never go back there. Just lost 2 customers /4 pair of glasses with the works.

Receiving a call saying my glasses was in and also the date wrote n my paperwork stating the date the glasses would be in store. I show up after spending close to 400.00 just to be shown two of the exact pair of frames. I do understand everyone is human we all make mistakes and thats not what Im upset about. When I had told the lady which from the start who was aggravated to be waiting on me being she felt it was time for her lunch that a mistake had been made. And I had ordered two different pairs. She said well Im sorry clearly right here in the paperwork it states two of the same. My boyfriend who had to pick out both pair because they had dilated my eyes before I picked out my frames he walked over and got the other pair and showed her. She said well what would you like for me to do? Of course I wanted the other fames. Never an apologie nothing. She said Walmart would size them because she would mail them. I asked for a manager at that point she said she was. Regina. And I should of been thankful after all my glasses did come in early and she did see what my problem was. Im sorry I bought checkup membership for 3 yrs there is 99.00 the made free and clear I will never return to that store again. I was also told there was another store near by. Thanks but I went to the one in Rivercity in Jacksonville its close to home but there are many other choices Im sure cheaper and hands down better custom service.

Lets just say me and my husband are not happy at all first after both of us paying for the club member ship they decided that i was aloud to have my prescription but my husband cant get his till a check up witch we payed 100 dollars a peice for and now there saying he cant have his till a check up ppl dont have time for that we have jobs ... then she lied and said shee got her because she has been here before witch is a lie my first time here and it actually his 2nd time here sorry but after these 3 years i will not be back and i will not by my contacts through them its not professional to lie to costomers. And its not professional to talk about someone else exam to other ppl im done with yall and ill make sure anyone i know will never go there
