Absolutely love this salon, the owners are a married couple and the wife cuts my hair. They are both so kind and she does a fantastic job. The price was less than I expected, which I love because I was able to give a larger tip. She cut over 13 inches off in February and there was no long hair fee like some other places will charge. Even though I moved from Issaquah, I still make the trip out to Markiels because it is more than worth the drive.

This is probably the nicest salon in lssaquah. If l have a rich and famous guest with the elite attitude and l feel uncomfortable trying to meet up to their standard ...l send them here ....where they will be treated first class and l know the red carpet is already prepared for their presence.First class and they know it !

I came in for more blonde color and showed her a photo of blended blonde highlights and told her I wanted my roots covered and she kept trying to tell me what I wanted and I left with 4 streaks of yellow In the front of my head and was told it would be 210$ very upset and will never be coming back.

Markiel has been a large part of my life since I was 8 years old. He has spent the last 20 years watching me grow up in his chair. As long as hes cutting hair I will ALWAYS come to Markiels. 20 years and hes never messed up my hair once, which is impressive considering how picky I am. Personable and efficient, Markiel and the other wonderfully capable Hair Stylists in his studio make sure that your haircut experience is that of hanging out with old friends, you dont have to worry about what theyre doing, just chill and chat, let the professionals do their job and I guarantee youll leave feeling happier about yourself than you did upon entering. If you prefer a specific look that you saw somewhere and you are just dying to have, Im sure theyll do as good of a job as anyone could to give you the style you crave. Please please PLEASE, give Markiels a shot for your next haircut. You wont be dissapointed.

The haircut was fine but I did not enjoy the conversation. I was just making conversation and told her that I accidentally ripped my jacket earlier and needed a new one. She asked why my wife can’t fix it for me. Very rude.

I was a regular at Weldon Barber. It was always pricey, but worth it until my regular barber left the company. Since then, Ive been trying every place in Issaquah. I had a terrible experience at Bishops, a pretty basic experience at SportClips that needed to be fixed a week in, an awkward experience at Cut Loose Caboose, and a few other less memorable experiences at other places around town. Finally, I tried Markiels.Markiel, himself, ended up being the one to cut my hair and I was very impressed with him from the start. When I sat down, he took the time to assess my hair, first. I have never had a barber or stylist that did this, before. You normally just go in, tell them what you want, and get it cut that way. Not with Markiel. My hair is wavy with a bunch of cowlicks, so its tricky to cut in a way that looks good for more than a week. Markiel took his time, examining every wave, curl, and cowlick. He then trimmed the sides down, shampooed my hair, left some conditioner in, and took me back to the chair for more assessment. He looked through it wet, then blow dried it, and examined one last time before ever making a cut.He managed to cut in a way that fixed some natural quirks in the volume of one side of my head, and cut everything in a way where it even looks passable when I get out of bed. He threw in some product and told me how best to style it for the way he cut it. His level of attention to detail and care in cutting my hair was above and beyond for the reasonable fee he charges. Hes going to be my regular barber, from now on, and Ill be recommending him to anyone who asks. Thank you, Markiel. Ill see you again, soon!

Called in for an appointment 4 days in advance, explaining an urgency.Markiel booked me, and then called back as soon as he had an earlier opening.I have had particularly undesirable experiences in the past with new hairstylists/barbers, however I came here on a Very good recommendation from a friend. From my recommendation, I expected to get a great haircut from a great dude.The five stars isnt for the fact that the Markiel did a wonderful job at not only giving me a fresh cut, nor an awesome new style; the five stars is because he is passionate about his work and personally assures you that you are one of his pieces of art, and Im convinced if I wasnt happy he wouldnt be. Will be returning on his schedule this next time. Would Highly recommend to anyone.
