I called to get an appointment for my boyfriend for today or tomorrow, and I was put on a substantial hold. They asked if he was a new patient, and before I could tell them that he may have pneumonia, they said they didnt have any openings and apologized. When I tried to further explain my need to get an appointment quickly, they just cut me off with another apology - offering no alternative dates. If they are no longer accepting new patients, they should just say so.

I was with Dr. Baze for about 7 years .. She was great and even made a life changing diagnosis for me .. Which has improved my life greatly .. The only negative thing I can say about this clinic .. Is that the girls at the front desk can be .. Rude.. Short.. And careless

I am very disappointed with my experience with Dr lobos! I am 50 and have had a few bad Drs she is one of them. My wife asked before we made an appointment if one of my meds would be a problem to fill and if we could get it in paper script. We are changing pharmacy from Kroger to CVS. They said no problem guess what no on both. I brought papers for family leave can you guess what she wouldnt do either. She literally asked me three times about salt in my diet and every time I told her I dont salt my food or use it to cook. She talks But does not LISTEN! Always remember C = MD.

I attribute my pain-free health status to the medical care provided by Dr. Baze. She is friendly, asks questions, listens attentively and is quick to order tests or images to confirm her suspicion. She has accurately diagnosed my health issues repeatedly.I appreciate the fast processing getting me to the appropriate specialist for treatment. My sincere thanks to Dr. Baze and her staff, starting with Donna and Jennifer at the front office. Thanks!

Ive seen Dr Baze for a few years now and have found her to be knowledgeable, personable and had conscientious. The best way to illustrate her care is to give you an example. I had two children 18 months apart, and we also have two older kids. I went into her office for another reason and when she asked me how I was doing, for some reason, I burst into tears. I couldnt really say why except that I felt overwhelmed and like I wasnt able to do it all. I felt like I was failing at everything and I was so, so, so tired! After talking to me about all that was going on, she asked if I would like to try a medication that could help me with that blue feeling. I agreed and she gave me the kindest hug and words of reassurance as she left the room. I had no idea that I was suffering from Baby Blues. I just thought I was a big mess because thats who I was. But having seen me for two years prior to that, and knowing my personality, she was able to identify it. I started on a low dose of medication and was back to myself in a few weeks. Having four kids and an active duty military husband was a lot to handle, but doing it with Baby Blues was a whole new level of challenge. I am so grateful to have had that appointment and for her to be so competent that she caught it even when I didnt realize that is what was going on.Dr. Baze cares for my children, as well, and has done so brilliantly. They love seeing her, shes great with them, and I always feel confident that she will get to the bottom of anything that ails them. I could not ask for a better family doctor and I feel confident in recommending her to anyone. Her medical expertise is matched with her professional empathy, and we are so grateful to get to call her our doctor.

The office staff at Hurst were lovely during my first visit, and the nurse, while abrupt and very quick moving, was pleasant as well. However, when Annie (the NP) got in my room, she made it very clear that she did not want to discuss my medical conditions with me. Im a new patient with this office, and have a rare condition that needs monitoring, but all she wanted to do was prescribe me something and leave. I wasnt expecting to spend hours in the room going over my whole history, but in my less than 15 minute visit with her, she tried to leave more than once before we had discussed what I came there for, continually looked like she was googling symptoms and things to see what she should tell me without performing an exam, repeatedly asked questions she would have known the answer to if she had actually physically looked at me (not an exam, I mean just looked up from her computer), and interrupted me several times when I tried to explain things to her. I was able to get the refills I needed, but despite the fact that I tried to explain what the refills were for AND had written them down for her, she repeatedly asked if the pills were for random unrelated conditions (Are these for your stomach? Are these for your nerves?), what the pills did (despite the fact that she should know, I explained more than once) and had to come back into the room multiple times to check what my dosages were before admitting that she would just have the nurse do it for her. I also asked if she could provide counseling for a dietary change I wanted to make, and the item she told me to go pick up at the store turns out to be the exact thing I told her I was trying to avoid. I know that doctors offices can be busy, and they want to move quickly (and Im completely fine with that, Im busy too), but this was a disastrous appointment. I was given an incorrect prescription, incorrect advice, and I dont feel like a single word I said registered with her. If I use this office again, I will NOT set up a visit with the Nurse Practitioner.

It has definitely been a journey for me in the last two years. There has been alot of good changes in the office as well. I love Erika (Dr.Baze nurse) she is quick to get back to you and super sweet. I know I probably drive her nuts at times. I adore Dr. Baze. She is sweet, kind, gentle and smart. She is quick to answer any questions that I have. Mary in the referral department is a joy to talk to everytime I get to talk to her :)

Two times I have scheduled a simple appointment to get a referral here as I am forced to follow this process for my HMO insurance. Both times I have been to Bazes office they have completely forgot to put through any referral! I went to my specialty doctors after visiting Baze and both of them told me I had no referral in the system with Blue Cross.Whoever their referral coordinator is, he or she needs to be fired.Edit---Reply to owner: I dont use my real surname on the Internet outside of business channels. I am a patient and would be happy to confirm. I will call the office and follow up soon. Thank you for your reply!

I went to see the new dr at the practice on June 21st after have been unable to keep down food for a week. They ran blood tests and told me to take tums and call back Monday if I wasnt better. I called Monday still not able to eat and the nurse told me they wanted to run one more blood test and then they would call in a prescription that should help me. I was told the doctor would call me on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon near closing I still had not heard from them so I called and they said the results came in that AM but the doctor hasnt looked at them yet. I never heard back. I attempted to call two more times and never heard anything or had a prescription come in for me, so I have resorted to taking my sisters prescription medication just so I can keep down food long enough to not pass out at work again.I have been a patient here for almost 20 years back when Dr Merrill was still in practice and recently it has gone downhill so badly you almost feel like the doctors are just there for a paycheck and dont actually listen to whats wrong.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade, First with Dr. Roach and now with Dr. Baze. I prefer DOs to MDs, and have always appreciated their approach. If you’re expecting a pill for every ill, you may be disappointed when they don’t hand out antibiotics like candy. (Only when necessary.) My young sons see the NP, and she is great with them. The office staff is kind and pleasant, Dr. Baze is attentive and a good listener, and I have always been pleased with my care.

Once again, after 6 years with Dr. Christy Baze, I am amazed at how much I appreciate her and her staff. She has taken care of my wife and I, during all our medical requirements. She has also taken care to provide us with other providers when we required major medical assistance. My wife and I want to thank Dr. Baze for her professionalism, friendship, and overall medical assistance. We want to thank her staff, and a great thank you to Jennifer for her attention to our requirements. Thank you Dr. Christy Baze!

We have only been going to this office for a few months after a bad experience with another practice . The office staff are the most incompetent i have ever seen. I have been waiting for 10 days to get scripts , they rarely return calls and when asked in person to speak to about it was told there System was down. What is with gp docs in this area ? . I hope I dont have to look for the third doc in a year.

Dr. Baze and her office staff are incompetent. My parents were patients of Dr Merrill, he retired and Dr. Baze took over. Since then that office went down hill. The staff does not follow up, put notes in the system. Dr. Baze tries to diagnose things and completely misses the mark. She listens for about 2 seconds and then doesnt listen any further. The final straw was when I received a phone call from someone in the office today. She was calling to check on how my mother was feeling. She obviously did not read the system notes or the notes were not updated. My mother passed away on August 24. I called the office to notify them of her passing the next day. The medical examiner called the office before I did because they already knew. I will not take my father back to this office.

Have never delt with such an unprofessional doctors office in my life. i have had asthma my entire life. I have had a monthly prescription for an inhaler since I was 7 years old. My pharmacy has been sending refil request for the last month. I have been calling 4 times a day for the last week... every time I call the receptionist tells me that “ALLthe nurses are in a patients room doing a procedure” she continued to send me to a voicemail that says they will return your call in 24 hours and I still after 5 days of calling have heard nothing. That was until I called today and she had to go “find a nurse” who told her I hadn’t been there in the last six months so they refused to refill my prescription. She proceed to say that the nurse would refill my prescription if I made an appointment and she would refill it to last until I was seen. I made an appointment were the receptionist quoted me $108-$180 for wellness checkup which is covered by my insurance and assured me she would be facing over my prescription refill and now their offices are closed don’t open until late morning and guess what...NO PRESCRIPTION REFILL! Absolutely rediculous... I would not recommend this doctor office to anyoneUpdate*** owner responded they have been trying to get a hold of me for a month ... which is absolutely untrue.... I have been calling their offices sometimes up to 4 times a day while leaving voicemails or phone messages ... I have never once received a call back in regards to my medication or anything else ... no phone calls no missed calls no line of communication what so ever. Just wanted to make that clear for the “owner” who responded... to this day I have yet to hear from the doctors office.

I saw Annie the np as a new patient. She barely let me speak and kept interrupting me. I didnt really get to tell her what was wrong and she asked me almost no questions. I saw her for only a few minutes. I was seeing her for back problems. We did an x-ray and even then she did not discuss any future plans for what we would do moving forward. They called to tell me my x-rays were normal so I didnt need a follow up appt. I told them, Im still in pain, nothing has changed since I was there since nothing was done on my first visit. I guess they just thought I was looking for pain meds even though I tried to tell her at the time that I did not want any muscle relaxers. But of course she didnt hear that when I told her. I am changing doctors. The front desk and nursing staff are very nice. But Annie is terrible.

I am surprised by the bad reviews for Dr. Baze and Hurst Family Medical. About 18 months ago, I needed a new PCP because mine moved to California. Dr. Baze was recommended by Medicare. I have been happy with my care since my first visit here. Dr. Baze is a younger Dr (30-40) and is knowledgeable about my medical conditions. She is a calming presence and sits down and really listens to your concerns. My case is somewhat complicated as I am a kidney transplant patient and need a PCP who can coordinate with my transplant specialist. I have not had any problems with this. I know when Dr. Baze first took over for Dr. Merrill she was extremely busy and I have seen Annie the nurse practitioner a few times. Annie is knowledgeable and pleasant to see with a great attitude. The office staff is helpful and can get me an appointment within a few days if needed. I can definitely recommend this office and Dr. Baze if they are taking patients.
