I recently left my dentist of 35 years to go to Dr. Mai at HB Family Dentistry since my MIL and husband have been patients for years. I had a filling that needed to be replaced and Im horrible with needles. Dr. Mai was so gentle and reassuring. FIVE STARS!!

I had a filling done today on a pretty terrible tooth. The doctors and staff have all been so amazing. During the filling process the doctor kept checking up to make sure I was feeling okay, which I really appreciated. They take care of the whole family. My 5 year old daughter just loves them! I experienced dental service from both Dr. Phuong and Dr. Mai and they were always very nice, caring, and personable. I did not have a main dentist for so long and was glad I was able to find HB Family Dentistry as my provider. At first, I was very nervous to see a dentist after so long. However, they were so relaxed and chill about everything, making it so easy for me to find comfort. I also find that it is helpful that they can text you for appointments, and I really appreciate that they work around my busy work schedule. I am lucky that my search for a good dental office has ended and that I am in the great hands of Dr. Phuong and Dr. Mai.

I always experienced great care with Drs. Nai and Phuong. They explain what they are doing and why. Due to a change in insurance, I had to change dentists. It was then that I realized how exceptional they are.I am happily back at HB Family Dentistry and the great care and customer service I missed.

I drive from LA to see Dr Nguyen! The staff is great, it feels like a family. I have never had to have a filling in 38 years and was a nervous. They made it so comfortable and painless! Always great monitoring, cleanings, and I trust their recommendations so much! With the drive! And they won’t charge you for things you don’t need!

Dr. Mai, staff, and their practices are highly professional and caring compassion.My previous dentist was a relative of my in-laws and a 45 minute+ drive away. After 2 missed cleanings, suddenly a year had passed, and I realized it was time to find someone closer to home.My first appointment with HB Family Dentistry was in February 2020, for dental cleaning. The dental hygienist was so thorough. I thought she gave me a deep clean but it turns out that was mostly the normal cleaning. Afterwards, I met Dr. Mai. I felt like I was meeting a friend who happened be an excellent dentist. She took time to do a complete exam while spotting a few cavities. These needed follow up appointments. She would also explained things well by setting expectations before, during and after the appointment. This has been a consistent trait of hers and office staff.I also have TMJ, and my jaw tends to lock open after 10 minutes of any cleaning or dental work. They were mindful to give my jaw mini breaks to rest. Both continually asked how I was feeling.My follow up appointment was in March. Yet like everywhere else, COVID changed everything. The office continued their professionalism with phone calls and text messages. In May, I had a random growth under my tongue. I called and left a message with the office. Dr. Mai called me back within a day and advised a course of treatment and followed up with care. Ultimately, she referred me to an oral surgeon, and it was taken care of.By June, the office opened and it was my first medical appointment since shelter-in-place orders started in March. For me, they really set the bar of excellence high. I would later compare them to other offices. They were on it from the beginning by: asking patients to call upon arrival, temp check, filling out forms, asking health screening questions, sanitizing hands, rinsing mouth out with Listerine, doctor wearing a face shield, masks, double gowns, gloves, air purifiers in each room, etc. I felt really safe and comfortable walking into their office and sitting in the exam chair. As we talked, I learned of the myriad of classes and webinars she attended to be kept up to date the latest CDC and dental association guidelines. I really appreciated her and her staffs serious efforts. Their strength is in the details.Lastly the front office, Gail and Rose, have consistently communicated clearly regarding what my insurance covers verses what I would pay, before any procedures took place. I really appreciate the follow up calls and text messages to remind me of my appointments. A couple of times I had to cancel due to illness. They were very understanding while working with me to reschedule.I would highly recommend seeing HB Family Dentistry. They are a private practice, tight knit staff, treating patients and one another with respect, care, compassion, and the upmost professionalism.

Today was my first visit to hb family dentistry, changing dentists after over 30 years at my previous dental office. my old one had gone too corporate and was constantly upselling. todays appointment was with dr. mai trinh nguyen who did a very thorough examination and provided as much information as i needed and wanted. the teeth cleaning was done by hannah, who was quick and painless. afterwards, i was presented with written estimates for future procedures i had discussed with dr. nguyen. the office manager, gail, was very pleasant and helpful, particularly about investigating insurance coverage. overall, it was a very positive experience and i am looking forward, as much as one can, to my return visits.

Dr. Mai Nguyen has been my dentist for the past 15 years. I live in Tustin and followed her from the Newport Beach office to Huntington Beach and would drive even a farther distance to go to her dental practice. I have had several dentists and numerous procedures including bridges, crowns, veneers and implants over the years. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyento all my friends and family. Her superb dentistry skills are unmatched! She is a perfectionist, gentle, and honest.Kim is my hygienist and is the best Ive ever had. Dr. Phuong Nguyen has an outstanding reputation, as well. I do nothave insurance and find their prices quite reasonable. The office is equipped with the latest equipment and is absolutely spotless. The smiling staff provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. Dr. Phuong and Hygienist Kim are so amazing! They are mindful and gentle when they were filling my cavities. They even put a resting block in my mouth so then my jaw wouldnt struggle. They had no problem with me listening to music while the work was being done. And the office is so clean! I love how honest they are about dental hygiene. I cant say enough about my dentist and the office they own. I like the fact that I walk into an environment that is full of happy people who love what they do and who they work for. That was not my experience at my previous dentist. The staff is awesome with great attitudes!!From there, I am dealing with a dentist who is obviously well trained and doesnt just view me as someone they can make a lot of money on. They truly care and are very careful in recommending work. Point in fact, I recently had a tooth with an existing filling and new decay. The dentist tried to remove the existing filling and decay without pushing me to do a crown. I love the fact they care about what I can afford and what is best for my dental health. That is very unusual.I highly recommend these well trained, seasoned pros for all your dental needs. They are the best!!

Dr. Logart had the particularly unique ability to listen with absolute focus, which I think formed the cornerstone of the practice... Empathy. Dr. Mai Nguyen, and her sister, Dr. Phuong Nguyen, are dentists who took the fear out of dental appointments for me. The care that they take to make the experience pain-free is above and beyond the care I have received at any other dentist I have visited. Their practice is state-of-the-art, and both doctors will take the time to answers your questions and allay any fears you might have about care you are going to receive. I cannot say enough about how good these two dentists are at what they do.

Dr. Nguyen is so nice— they both are, and so is their entire staff! I always feel welcome and at ease whenever I go to them. I have gone in for routine cleanings, as well as had my wisdom teeth pulled there. Even though having teeth pulled can be scary, they made me feel completely at ease.

First off I would just like to say this I never had to choose a dentist to go to because I would just use the one my parents wanted me to. This place did not let me down in the slightest.Usually people have anxiety at dentist places but I honestly did not feel that at all here. The receptionist and Dentist were completely welcoming and willing to help and talk things through with me whenever I had any questions. Through my clean and first ever cavity tooth filling everything was flawless.I honestly would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a dentist place in the HB area. At HB Family Dentistry in Huntington Beach, Ive had one of my most pleasant dental services. The front office management is great, as I didnt have to wait in line unlike at other dental offices. The doctors and staff were friendly and accommodating, the cleaning was above satisfactory, and the bleaching kit they gave me was very effective in whitening my teeth to the way I wanted them to look. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

We have been seeing Dr. Nguyen and her sister at Bayshore Dental in Newport Beach for the past 12 years and we were extremely happy. We were so disappointed she and her sister were no longer there and they did not give us any information as to where she moved. Well, they opened their own practice, Huntington Beach Family Dentistry. Our dental health is so very important to us and they are such good dentists, friendly and no pain! It is worth the drive from Newport Coast to see them.

They always tell me and also show me (with their digital photograph application) what the procedure involves. The best part is they are caring and gentle. If you are like me and Dentist visits are not something that you are looking forward to, then you definitely fall in love with this dental practice! All your nervousness will go away as soon as you walk into the office. Gail,Tania and Kimberly are all kind and you immediately feel comfortable with them! Dr. Mai is so caring and a very knowledgeable Dentist, she is not treating you for an unnecessary procedure that you do not need. My 7 year old daughter who usually feels uncomfortable at Dentist offices, now voluntarily wants to have her teeth checked by Dr. Mai! The entire team work well together to take good care of their patients which is very rare in these days!

I had gone to the same dentist my entire life until she retired and sold her practice to the Dr. Nguyen sisters. I was very hesitant to see a new one, but the amazing hygienist, dental assistant and receptionist all stayed there, so I figured I would try it. The moment I met the dentists I knew they were great. Dr. Phuong-Trinh Nguyen did my filling and it was very pain free. She was so patient with me and had me actually looking forward to coming back for another one just to hang out with all of the great people there. You will not find a better dentist and office full of great people taking great care of you.

This office is excellent at patient care especially, elderly. They refer those patients who can no longer physically make it into the office to my home-bound practice. They truly care about the family and the patients well-being even beyond their own practice.

This is a GREAT dentistry practice! We have used Dr. Mai-Trinh Nguyen for a couple of years now and my whole family is happy there. I’ve had the opportunity to have Drs. Mai-Trinh and Phuong-Trinh as my dentists for as long as I can remember. They provide an unprecedented level of service in terms of dental work and it is clear that they care about their patients. For example, the past two times I have seen them, they have opened their offices for me outside of business hours and on weekends to accommodate the fact that I no longer live in the area but consider their services irreplaceable.I also really like that they are a family run practice and appear to really know their patients on a personal level. Their office is very conveniently located for anyone in the Orange County area; it is just off the freeway.

I and my whole family have been under the dental care of both Drs. Mai Nguyen and Phuong Nguyen for many years. We followed them from the Newport Beach office to their current new office.We have been absolutely happy and satisfied with their outstanding dental care and friendly professional relation. They take time to explain to you what dental work(s) you need, and what procedure they are going to perform. They also make sure that their excellent dental works are pain free. At the end, they want you to be completely satisfied before you leave their office. Their assistant staff are also great.They also suggest some additional necessary procedure(s) to protect your teeth and to make them look better, such as a dental night guard, or dental cosmetic bond. Since I had the night guard, my required dental works are much less. With the recent dental cosmetic bond, my wear and tear front teeth look as great as decades ago.I highly recommend HB Family Dentistry with Drs Mai Nguyen and Phuong Nguyen to all of you and confident that you will find them as the ideal DDS you are looking for you and your family.
