Love this office. Dr. Smith is wonderful and always makes me feel taken care of. She’s helping me fix my smile with Invisalign and I’m so grateful. Love Elizabeth, my dental assistant!

Dr. Tarek Hussein is an amazing dentist. He takes the time to ask you about yourself and explains what hes doing as he goes along. Ive never had such a great dentist experience. Its rare to find people who care about their patients like he does. I recommend him to everyone.

I recently stopped by the office and inquired about having a routine exam/cleaning and the office staff was extremely helpful and polite and scheduled my appointment. I faithfully practice good dental care with regular exams and cleaning and have family members that are dentists and dental hygienists but dont live in the area.Unfortunately, I saw Dr. Tarek Hussein who was completely unprofessional, extremely rude and condescending. I would strongly advise future patients to avoid seeing Dr. Hussein.

I do not recommend this place. Very rude, expensive, and poor work. Do not offer pain meds when needed.

I had pain under an existing bridge for months and when I went for my 6 month schedule cleaning I told them I had been experiencing pain so they took x-rays and could not see anything wrong. I was told that I was not cleaning properly which I was. Next 6 month cleaning comes and I expressed the same issue and and they took x-rays again and again was told I wasnt cleaning properly.A few months later I went back because the pain and swelling was getting bad so they took more x-rays but this time did it at another angle and then they say the issue, a cavity under the bridge. Hooray!!!So they took off the bridge did a root canal and cavity work. Prior to putting a new bridge on I asked Dr. Smith if everything was fixed before they put the bridge on and she said yes. Great, close to 8K later I was no longer feeling pain.3 months goes by and the pain starts again but I have been relocated to Seattle with a company relocation. I went to local dentist in Mukilteo WA and they told be there was a cracked tooth under the bridge and the brand new very expensive bridge had to be removed a tooth extracted and bone graph had to be done to accept a new post,. I called Modern Dentistry and of course they denied it was existing but the new dentist stated it was existing.I was told that Modern Dentistry would cover the cost of a new bridge but I would have to come back to So-Cal for the work knowing that was not realistic because of the relocation. I had the bridge removed, tooth and bone graph performed and then covid hit, no more dentist work could be performed. Since then my company relocated me back to So-Cal so I called Modern dentistry to let them know I was back in town adn wanted a new bridge and it took 12 phone calls with explanations and not one returned phone call, Dr. Smith is never in the office and does not return phone calls. I had all the work from the other dentist sent to them the day they asked for it and it took weeks and many phone calls to get someone to talk to me and ultimately told me that Dr. Smith says to move on, they arent going to fix their mistake and Im out thousands with thousand more to spend.Dont expect to be taken care of if they dont do the work right the first time. Customer service was about as poor as they come.The only good customer service I got was from Jonathan and he no longer works there.

I have a lot of nerves about going to the dentist and am 8 months pregnant, so I was so relieved to have my experience here as a first time patient today. My uncle was my previous dentist, so my standards were very high. I was made to feel super comfortable from the moment I walked in and was greeted by Christine at the front desk. I was the only patient in the waiting room, and was taken back for my appointment promptly. The equipment and office is very high tech, sleek, clean and nice. Dr. Hussein has such a calming demeanor, and was great about explaining everything he did and why. I never felt any pressure to consent to anything I wasn’t comfortable with, being pregnant. It was such a relief to get my teeth taken care here!

Do not patronize this office, unless you prefer nickel and dime tactics. I came in for a routine check up and cleaning and received a recommendation for a costly complex cleaning upgrade. They were prepared to tend to me but when I said I couldnt afford it at this time, I sat in the chair for an unreasonable amount of time so I got up and left a bit angry, the doctor said to me as I was leaving, we were just going to come in. Pfft!!

What a wonderful experience I had here. From the moment I called, to my dental appointment itself. The front desk was so helpful about arranging my visits and I didn’t have insurance so they were very helpful and gave me options for me to look into, which was amazing.. Dr Hussein was great. Very good bedside manner and professional, as well as skilled and knowledgeable. My visit with the oral surgeon was really good too. Very conservative and I was pleasantly pleased about that.

SUPER EXPENSIVE. Dont go to this place is super expensive. They are trying to over charge the assurance and take money from you. For a cleaning they wanted 900 dlls. Dont waste your time.

We left this office because of Johnathon who is the office manager. He is the most condescending and unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure working with. I was helping my mom with understanding her treatment plan and he actually insulted us and said she should bring an advocate since she couldnt understand what was going on. I calmly explained to him that I was there to help her. Unbelievable. And when I shared this with Nicole Smith she stared blankly at me as if she didnt understand what I was saying. As a result, we left the office and got a second opinion which saved my mom $10,000. Modern Denistrys treatment plan and was not even the proper course of action. I transferred my family out of the office and now they have 4 less patients to take advantage of. This all happened October 2019. Today I called the office to simply get receipts for 2019 to file my income taxes. Johnathon was so rude and condescending that I had to hang up the phone. He clearly has never been trained and does not understand how talk to people or more importantly he fails to listen to patients needs. So glad we left this terrible office. Be careful because they will charge you top dollar to milk your insurance and they are a franchise that exist for one reason - to make money. They do not care about their patients.

Wow I love this office! Dr. Smith is great-calm, funny, gentle. Her work is quick and excellent and she makes me feel so comfortable. Im glad I could finally find a great dentist. I recommend her to all my family and friends. It is a really clean and modern office too! The staff is very nice and Im happy I found them.

Im so happy I found Dr. Smith and Huntington Beach Modern Dentistry! I am truly a dental-phobic person. I hate going to the dentist....well I hated going. I dont anymore! Dr. Smith is seriously calming and super gentle. Ive had quite a few things done there and everything has been perfect--painless, quick and non-stressful. Im so happy I found her! The staff is really nice too, definitely dont want to leave them out! They were very useful with my insurance and scheduling everything with my hectic schedule, and the dental techs are very caring every time. Thank you Dr. Smith and office team!

This is a creepy office with terrible standards. Not clean, this is is the first dentistry office I have seen without any cover on dentistry chairs. So disgusting.At first they tried to charge me extra copay which my insurance called them and told them they shouldnt charge that. I was there to have my teeth cleaned. Doctor said that he couldn’t clean without doing the full x-ray of mouth. That wasn’t acceptable to me as I took care of my teeth and there was no issue with them. At least, he could have taken a look at my mouth and check them by his eyes to see X-rays are required for cleaning or not, but he refused to do that and instead of that he threatened me to remove me from the office if I don’t leave.

This is the most horrible dentist. I went for a cleaning and the tech was so rough my tooth feel out the next day. Then even though it was completely their fault they made me pay for a partial which I had to argue with them about because if they cant sell you a $3k plus implant, the next way they can make money is to just pull all of your teeth out and give you dentures... Even if you dont need them!!! I had to argue to keep the rest of my teeth!!! What kind of money grubbing monsters are these people?? They should be banned from working not based on skill, based on moral ethics. No shame in this place.

Dr. Yao is a great dentist! She took the time to explain everything to me and was very gentle. Their benefits manager is very knowledgeable and checked with my insurance so she could give me accurate pricing on my treatments. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends. :)

Very friendly, clean, and professional office. My wife and I have been going here for 3 years and have always had a positive experience. Weve always gotten honest feedback (compared to other dentists who try to squeeze every $ that they can from you). Highly recommend this office!

I was in the office today for a crown. I was extremely nervous but Dr. Smith and her staff reassured me that the process would be as pain free as possible. They delivered on their promise 😁! Very smooth procedure with very little pain or discomfort! Definitely a 5 Star office staff and dentist! I would recommend to everyone! Always professional and respectful!

Best dental office Ive ever been to! Great staff, Dr Chris is the best, Leroy made me very comfortable doing xrays and Rachel was very gentle with my cleaning. I highly recommend them!!!

The customer service was better last year but now they hired the worst receptionist I have met ever in my life. She seemed to know nothing but some words she look at on the screen. And the clinic is busy, too so if you choose this one, you have to have a far day schedule and also you have to wait when you come.

Just went for my first appointment and had a great experience. Everybody from the office staff to the hygienist and to Dr. Smith herself have been amazing. Didnt have to wait for more than 5 minutes, scheduling was easy, everybody was very polite and Dr. Smith explained the entire treatment plan in detail. It felt like she really took some time for me and cared about what was happening.Also realized that her prices were way below what I have been quoted at a different office and she literally just saved me several thousand $$$!Really happy that I have found this office. Very efficiently run and I feel that I am in very good hands here. :)Thank you Dr. Smith, Christina, Amanda and Brittany for this great first experience with you!

The dentists are friendly but youre lucky if you get to see them during your visit. Ive had to wait up to 3 hours during a non-medical procedure. During fillings Ive had them leave the room only to come back to finish it once the anesthesia has worn off. They hide prices until youre signing for payment and coming here is just an overall bad experience. One star is more than this place deserves. Will not be coming back.

My experience at HB Modern Dentistry has been bar none the best ever. I saw Dr. Smith because a friend goes to her and I had the most thorough exam at a dentist yet. She is very calm and sweet which immediately put my dental fears at ease and the staff and facilities are great. I knew I needed a lot of dental work and had gotten a few opinions with other offices. Dr. Smiths recommendations were conservative and she explained the pros and cons of each choice so I could make a decision on what was best for me. I never felt any sales pressure whatsoever like I did at other places and always felt like she was on my side and wanted whats best for me! The results of my work are amazing! I am out of pain and I can smile again because she gave me a beautiful smile back! My daughter (who hates doctors) loves her too and cant wait to start Invisalign with her. So glad I found an excellent and caring dentist finally.

Stay away. Bait and Switch. They advertise $59 cleaning and xray, but good luck paying that amount. They tried to charge me $1600 for a cleaning and xray. I have paid $50 for xray and cleaning at other places. Sadly, finding an honest dental office, is like finding an honest mechanic, or car dealership now days.Here is a tip. They separate the dentist from the financial person who quotes you the cost. They train the financial person to rebutt everything you say to maximize their profit

Amazing, I am scared to death of the Dentist and they have been the most kind, efficient, and amazing group of people I have ever met at any medical facility!

Dr. Smith screwed up and took no responsibility. Instead, she blamed me.

BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! Had my first examination with Dr. Nicole Smith on May 17th and she had advice me to have a crown done. They gave me a quote with 4 cost options. The 1st option was for all cerec-blue blck post $1055, 2nd option was a cheap quality from the first $855, 3rd option was ceramic and metal $685 and the 4th option was all metal $350. I was told by Amanda Vorhes the office manager that all of these prices were my responsibility after my insurance pays the claim. They had used scared tactics to persuade me that the crown was needed and I shouldnt wait too long. And they were hard core with the up sale. That same day I rang up my dental insurance company Aetna to ask exactly what they cover. And was told that this practice is over charging and that they are in contract to only charge an agreed amount. For example, option #1 their most expensive option, is agreed at a maximum cost of $1302 which I am then only responsible for $565.20! My Insurance representative decided to confront Amanda while I was on hold. She then filed a complaint on my behalf. On May 31st my husband had an appointment with Dr. Smith, we specified that he would only have a cleaning and Amanda had confirmed with me at least 3 times while we were in the office. Three days later I had a funny suspicion and decided to check their claims with our insurance company and sure enough they had submitted a claim for cleaning and the examination which my husband did not have! Got in touch with my insurance company, they then called and verified with the dental office and told them that they need to resubmit the correct billing. I also got a clear understanding that Dr. Smith’s instructions to the receptionist in regards to appointment bookings is that her schedules are fully booked for up to 2 months when you need a routine check up, but if she can get you in for a crown service then miraculously her schedule opens up instantly! Even to a point that they will suit your schedule….. APPALLING!!! At this point we’ve decided that this practice is NOT an honest, moral, and ethical practice to continue our business.

Worst dentist I have ever been to, very disrespectful to my wife, and double charged my insurance.over charge me, then to find out its all about up selling not patient care is not acceptable.

Worst dental experience ever. Very unorganized. Dont go here!!!!
