As a diabetic with diabetic retinopathy I would be blind if it were not for the care and treatment of Retina Consultants of Texas. I have been a patient for over 15 years and have seen several of the doctors but my favorite is Dr Tien Wong.

Horrible horrible horrible. You have been warned! I went to this office as a referral from my optometrist. When I first signed in the receptionist acted like I was taking up her time. My eyes were already dilated by the optometrist, so I was having a hard time with the tablet. She seemed as though it was a bother, but thankfully my husband was with me and was able to fill it out for me. When I got into the room they had to dilate my eyes again. By the time the doctor came into the room he was so rushed I didn’t have an opportunity to ask any questions. I wound up leaving and going back to the office a few days later. When I got into the office the second time. It was happening all over again, being rushed. The doctor never introduced himself, or ask for my name. He just came in the room and said you were just here a few days ago why are you back. I explain to him that I was still having symptoms. He said well if they didn’t see anything a few days ago I’m not gonna see anything different now. He asked the nurse to dilate my eyes more and walked out of the room without another word. The nurse or MA(not sure), came back two more times each time putting more drops in my eyes. When the doctor came back in I was upset. I asked him to explain to me what was going on why was I still having symptoms. He refused to answer any of my questions and just kept saying put your chin here so I can look at your eyes. I asked again can you please answer my questions? He said no just put your chin here so I can look at your eyes and then I’ll answer your questions. I asked him a third time will you please explain to me what is going on. He said put your chin here and let me look at your eyes and then we will see. He said you know we made this appointment for you as a courtesy. As he looked at my eyes I couldn’t help but tear up. When he was done shining the light in my eyes he said well nothing looks different. Mind you this was a different doctor that I had never seen before and all he had was previous notes. I waited for an exclamation of what was going on. He said your eyes are fine you’ll be all right, and asked are you good now. I told him I didn’t appreciate him or the other doctor making me feel rushed and not answering my questions. He said sometimes to give good service and see lots of patients you have to be quick and you don’t have time to do anything else. I told him that did not make sense to not have good customer service. He said well you know what we do to make up for not talking a lot, we give you a brochure. He turned to his nurse and said make sure she gets a brochure today. Then told me to come back in a year. If you don’t have to go here don’t. They are rude and impatient. I paid the same amount of money as any other patient that walked in the door, and I expect for any doctor to treat me like a human being and not just be dismissive. We only get one pair of eyes and if I’m concerned it’s because my optometrist has told me what to look out for. Not to mention I have been in the Customer Service industry for over 20 years they have no idea what good Customer Service should be or is at that office.

Dr. Fish took the time, not only for my annual check up, but to let me know I could be a good candidate for a dry macular trial.
