My experience at Zalla Massage was excellent from start to finish. The reception staff (Kali is who I spoke with) is INCREDIBLY kind and helpful in scheduling, and explained the Covid safety procedures step by step throughout booking and check in. I was never once confused about where to go or what to do.My massage was EXACTLY what I needed. I’ve been having some tension and back pain, and my massage therapist (Anna) was attentive to the areas that I said I would like her to work on, and a couple of areas that I didn’t even know i needed worked on. She was great at communicating why she was working on those areas and how they relate to my pain, and balanced an openness and authenticity with professionalism beautifully. I felt so comfortable throughout, and scheduled my next appointment at checkout!The space itself is beautiful, clean, and very welcoming.

Called this place to try out since they had several reviews. Front desk reception extremely rude. My encounter and experience with him was awful I didn’t even want to book an appointment.

We went there to do a couple’s massage for my birthday and everything was amazing, the therapists Patricia and trezure were so professional and did a great job!! The only downside was that we arrived 20 minutes late for our appointment due to traffic and rain, and they cut short from our time instead of offering another appointment or finding another way to compensate 😅!! I would expect such a place to be more prepared to handle these types of situations better, specially that it’s on the pricier side.

Highly recommend Patty. She does greatest with deep tissue and sports massage, but she also did well with me during pregnancy. She not only listens to my concerns, but figures out the source and offers advice for prevention/at home maintenance afterwards. Staff is wearing a mask (I do out of respect for them, but I believe its only required when face up on the table/public spaces).

Got couples massages this past Saturday with my boyfriend and it was amazing! My boyfriend had Patty and I had Keiara. It was his first time and he was a bit skeptical on if the massage would do anything for him but Patty had him speechless after the massage! Keiara was great and delivered spot on pressure for what I was wanting. I am already a member but my boyfriend will be joining as one now!

Ive tried many of the massage therapists at Zalla and theyre all excellent professionals who listen to your needs. Theyve done a great job during COVID of being flexible, adopting a new text-based system for appointments, and using the best safety practices possible. I feel safe and comfortable when I go. Plus, the old house theyre based in is very cool.

Honest Review of My Experience: The process was very slow from beginning. I never received the digital form and was made to wait in my car for over 10 mins after my massage time for them to check in other clients (I was the first there).The room that was selected was very small, and bright (large window with white curtain) which made it hard to relax and it also had an “old home” smell - no scent of lavender or something to help relax (or mask the smell). This caused me and the therapist to chat more than I would normally like for 90 mins and paying over $100 for a massage.My therapist Mannicka was very attentive to my body, feeling for tightness and tenseness. I like that she didn’t follow a script for the body.. she literally just worked everything by touch. The 2 stars are for her.I wouldn’t return simply because I didn’t have the best experience and it felt over priced but maybe the other rooms in the house are nicer, more dim and have a better smell.

My first massage since March. Was a bit nervous but felt safe the entire time. Everything was clean and clearly wiped down before my arrival. The room was large with lots of airflow. Masks were everywhere (even on me). The massage I received was, as usual, wonderful. I was relaxed and refreshed. Cant wait for my next one. Thanks Zalla Massage!

Loved the COVID safety protocols they had in place, the space is super cute!! Ruben was my massage therapist and he did a WONDERFUL job at helping my extreme back tightness and working out the knots I gained from working at a desk all day. He was extremely respectful and very attentive to my needs (put a blanket on me since I was cold, asked how I was feeling, asked if the pressure was okay, etc.) He even gave me tips to help reduce tech neck tension after the session too!I will definitely be back. 😊😊

Zalla and her team are super amazing. I had crippling back pain one year (from just waking up from bed). After an excellent massage, the pain subsided. Then it came back. She had a acupressure specialist who did manipulated my toes and the pain immediately went away. Excellent that Zalla and her team have an incredible team with different disciplines. Zalla is a great, personalized experience. One of the best massages Ive ever had. The price is good, the location is great, and my therapist Patty is thorough and professional. I have skin allergies, and she is very conscientious and works with me to find oil that is hypoallergenic. The only (slight) drawback is the parking, but that should be alleviated, too, when they move to their new space! Highly recommend.

Gina was an excellent masseuse! Her knowledge of muscle structure and manipulation of those muscles to achieve the clients desired result is key. I definetly recommend Gina. I just have to say that the house Zalla is located in gives me the creeps! I am very sensitive, in a spiritual way, and there is definitely something (not warm and fuzzy) in that house.

Made an appointment a month ago for me and bf for his birthday they canceled 2 hours before the appointment because one of the therapist had « car issues » This is ridiculous. I don’t know how serious is a business who cancel appointment made a month before at the last minute. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Very disappointed.

This place is very good! My wife has had some pain in her upper back and she feels much better after her massage. We were treated very well, the atmosphere is very calm and soothing, and (per my wife) Gina knew exactly what she was doing. She even gave us some helpful tips at the end to alleviate tension in the muscles. We will definitely continue business with Zalla.

My second visit was with Mary, two different people referred her to me. I need deep tissue work done since I lift heavy weights and practice yoga on a daily basis, my muscle get tense and she did a great job at soothing out my muscles. I had the MOST WONDERFUL prenatal massage with Patty yesterday and I experienced such relief of my discomfort that I wanted to cry tears of joy. I get massages monthly and this was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! I went in because my back had gone into spasm a couple of days before and left a radiating pain through my neck. Unfortunately I did not write a review right away but I want to highlight Jennifer- I’m pretty sure that’s her name. She really knows her stuff!!! I got an hour massage but wished I would have done a 90 minute. The massage was relaxing, yet firm and super thorough. I left feeling SO much better and had far better mobility than I did when I came in. When I’m back in the Houston area I will be returning!

My experience at Zalla Massage was amazing! I work full time and have a 16 month old son (who is very heavy, and wants to be in mamas arms often). With that being said, my upper and lower body is tight all the time. Han, my masseuse, did a phenomenal job at treating me at the appointment and gave me some great tips to help relieve some of the tightness while Im away. When I scheduled the apt. the person I spoke to on the phone was also very friendly and helped me select the right masseuse for my massage, so my time with him would be as effective as possible. I loved their facility; it was very original and relaxing. The bedding for the tables are super soft and very comfortable!I would recommend Zalla Massage for your self or for a great gift item for someone who LOVES massages!

The massage at Zalla was excellent! I am a very physically active person so deep tissue massages is usually what I request. After my 1 hour massage, I felt like a new person! It was a very deep tissue massage with emphasis on tissue release. It was very thorough and the she was very professional. The staff was very helpful with any questions I had about scheduling or about the massage in general. I would highly recommend anyone going to get massage treatments here, especially if you are a physically active person.

She applies the perfect pressure as if its her own body and she knows exactly what spots to hit. Jackie Sy is the massage therapist I use at Zalla and she is fantastic! At each appointment she asks me what I would like to focus on and makes sure I’m at ease. She does amazing deep tissue massages and incorporates hot stones and towels to really relax your muscles. She’s a wonderful therapist and is always so kind! Highly recommend her!

I really enjoyed my massage in this low key Zen environment. Right after my massage I bought a gift cert here for my boyfriend and he also enjoyed his massage very much. My husband bought me an 80 minute deep tissue massage for my birthday. My massage was with Zack and he was, for lack of a better word, FANTASTIC. Within 5 minutes into the massage I was completely relaxed. Normally it takes me half the time to unwind my mind and just enjoy the massage. He has magic hands! He does this great massage on your shoulder blade. I have had a lot of massages, and that was the first time anyone did a shoulder blade massage like that. He was great and I signed up for another massage the next month. Also, I appreciated the cold water bottle waiting for me at check. This place rocks!

She raved about her prenatal massage and both her and I have become loyal customers (they excel at all types of massage). Ive had 7 or 8 different therapists and never a bad experience. I purchased a coupon for a massage to Zalla - what a wonderful experience!! My therapist realized I was after an 80 minute vacation - and that is exactly what was delivered. The house is quaint - and with the separate entrance for the massage salon, it is a nice change to the massage centers in strip centers located in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. I loved the hot stones and towels as a part of the massage - rather than an upgrade and my therapist was happy to work in stretches as a part of my massage at my request. I had my first massage from Zalla today and I absolutely loved it!I have a bad back due to genetics or work or stress or something, so I signed up to get a 2 hour deep tissue massage. I was a little nervous to have a deep tissue massage for that long but it turned out to be amazing! My masseuse was Jessica and she was great. She asked me where my problem areas were and what I wanted her to focus on beforehand. Worth every dollar spent. I left feeling so relaxed and I could actually stand up straight without having lower back pain.I highly recommend anyone going there. I definitely plan on making my next appointment soon!! :) I think we may try the couples massage next!

I had an outstanding massage from Han at Zalla Massage and will return in the near future. He used the exact amount of pressure to help me loosen problem areas from running and lifting but also helped me relax. He even showed me some stretches I have utilized to improve my flexibility. The staff was welcoming and the space was very inviting. Easy to find, easy to book and with lots of discount packages, and massage types. I get massages very frequently and this was one of the best!

I went to Zalla needing some serious help with deep knots that Id received from working out, stress, etc. I was assigned Hon as a therapist because he was listed as having the skills to get really deep into the problem areas.I could tell right away that he was experienced because his hands had that rough, working man feel that some people associate with blue collar work. To me it meant that I had someone whod been doing massage for a while, not just a person off the street. (Yes, I have had that type of massage at a chain store)In less time than I would have believed, Hon worked out the knots completely. Also, he incorporated some stretching into the process, which I had never experienced before. In short, I got exactly what I needed and more. That means Ill be going back.As an observer, the ambiance and smell of the Zalla facility works well to put someone in the relaxed state of mind needed to fully embrace a massage. They are very professional, starting from the time that you walk in until you leave.I would recommend that you give Zalla a try because they seem to have something for everyone. I dont know that for sure, but after several hundred massages in my life Ive learned to make accurate assessments fairly quickly.Im going for a second time and if I like it as I expect to, Ill be joining the membership program.

You can get the massage you want with the extras you dream of having without being charged extra. I loved that there was no up-charge for the hot rocks that were used. Ive been going to Zalla Massage since she was on the location in 1973 W. Gray. Ive seen many massages therapist over the years and and since 2010 continue to go back to Zalla with no complaints! Ive tried saw as a massage therapist and a number of her therapist, never getting a bad one I cannot say the same about alternatives in town that charge a monthly subscription and a major chain around the country !

First of all, Jessica was amazing! I went in to get my first prenatal massage. I was very nervous at first, but Jessica was very comforting and assured me everything was going to be fine. She gave me the option to lie face down on a mat made specially for pregnant women or gave me the option to lie on my side. She told me the mat had been used for over a year and it was perfectly safe. I was very impressed with her understanding and support. Throughout the massage, she checked my belly to make sure I was in perfect position.Zalla Massage has very caring and compassionate staff members. They are friendly, walk you through the whole process, and always smiling :) When you walk into a massage place, you want to know its going to be relaxing and have a welcoming environment. Thank you for the wonderful service and I will definitely go back for more prenatal massages.

Had a great treatment with Jackie Sy. Only had about 30 minutes of free time on her schedule but she was happy to fit me in on short notice. I really recommend her combination of styles (deep tissue, pressure/trigger point work, sports, etc.) What made the session particularly fruitful is that shes very intuitive and after some general info re: problem areas takes a dynamic approach to attacking said areas with different modalities, from different angles, etc.

Jennifer is as good as it gets for deep tissue massage therapy. Ive been to probably over 10+ massage therapists in my life, and as long as Jennifer is available, I will go to no one else. Highly recommended! The rest of the Zalla staff are very professional and friendly as well!

Ive been to Zalla for prenatal, postnatal and regular massages. She is wonderful! The environment is always relaxing and she uses the perfect pressure. Her other associates are also great. This is the first place I have found to be consistently good so I purchase massage packages and use one per month.

Love coming here - Mary Bratcher is an amazing therapist. I am pregnant and Mary is by far the best therapist I have had for prenatal massages. She is very knowledgeable and applied really good pressure and techniques. Already booked another hour and a half in a few weeks!

I used Zalla Massage for the first time a week before my wedding. It was exactly what I needed in order to relax. Zach was absolutely wonderful. He asked me before we started if there were any areas I really wanted him focus on which I really appreciated. The massage lasted the full hour I had booked instead of stopping a few minutes early. The entire experience was very relaxing and I will definitely be going back.

I have been blessed to have received gift certificates to Zalla Massage for birthdays, etc... and have purchased on my own b/c every massage Ive had there has been wonderful. Ive had a massage with different people there: Zalla, Linda, Jessica, etc... and all have been excellent. I highly recommend them. Plus, the new location is just lovely and extremely tranquil. Treat yourself to a 100 minute massage and all your troubles will melt away.

Ive been here 2x now, and both experiences were great. The first time was a couples massage about a year ago and we had Linda and Brenda working on us . I happened to, unfortunately, get into a car-bike accident (with me on the bike) several month before my appointment. I noted prior to my massage that I was really tight and experiencing some discomfort in certain positions/movements in and around my knee that was not yet diagnosed. Whoever was massaging me (I cant recall whether it was Linda or Brenda, just that she was the older of the two) was very attentive to my body and noticed immediately, without much probing, exactly where the issues was and, thankfully, avoided the area. Most recently I saw Han for another 1.5 hr swedish massage. He worked extensively on the areas I noted I had issues and on areas that I didnt even realize I had knots until he got to it. He talked to me about what he observed physically, which I always appreciate. I enjoy massages for its healing, body-restoring abilities. I find it relaxing to be worked on (I even sometimes imagine the therapist digging under my skin and grabbing that knot out), not simply to be rubbed on. Ive found that Zalla gives me just that. Oh, and their new location is a beautiful space. Thanks, folks!
