Bianca is great! Shes also very funny. It took us a while to accomplish this hairstyle, but we got it done! I cant wait until they loosen up a bit ... but overall, Im pleased. This is my second hairdo from her. Both styles are attached. (In the collage, the bottom photo is the style I showed her)Zayds stylists are always friendly and knowledgeable. Ive been coming here since about 10 years ago, with intermittent breaks. Ive used many different artists here. They always do a great job.

Friendly and professional, I started my Loc journey and Im so excited. Shawna explained what to do and advised to come back in two weeks to see the progress of my journey.

I was a little on edge about going to a new salon, being that its NEW to me and my mobility is not what it once was. I also had many questions for my stylist because I am somewhat particular. In other words i didnt walk in with the highest of expectations. However, to my delightful surprise I was greeted with a smile immediately upon entering the door, and I proceeded to get the red carpet treatment! Everyone was so helpful and accommodating! Not once did I feel like a bother to anyone! And as far as the many questions I had, the stylist answered them all without batting an eye. Great conversational quality! Needless to say I will be going back, and you should too!! Special mention to Kyra & Andrea (I hope Im not misspelling)!

This place is exactly what you want and need from a natural hair shop. I felt so welcome and my head and hair felt even better.Ive been to numerous locations all around the country and this is one of the best, if not best hair experiences Ive ever had!Shanna is amazing! I went in to get my hair straightened on yesterday and it poofed within a few hours. I went back this morning HIGHLY UPSET! But instead of feeding off my energy the manager and stylist worked with me and gave me a style I liked ten times better! I now have a new salon to go to and am comfortable with going in and say “just freestyle” Swat is AMAZING. It’s worth a try!

This was the first time my daughter got her hair done. Jordan was great. A lady named Andrea was so rude. There was no seating and she complained because my child changed seats while we waited for our beautician. I don’t understand how this is a salon that is advertised as a children’s hair salon... but a person (Andrea) works there who seems bothered by children. My children were very well never. Needless to say, I sat on the floor since it bothered her that I moved a chair so I could sit near my 3 year old.

Been knowing the stylist since High School...( Shauna ) had to show her some love....and she does a great job on my ladys hair!!!

I went for a deep conditioning and trim. Instead I came out with hard fro and a good 4 inches cut off. The stylist had the nerve to tell me I still had relaxed hair, I told her I had been natural for over a year and I had cut all my hair off when I had went natural. I told her I just have fine hair, its extremely thick but when wet its fine. I will NEVER go back about. Oh and she styled my hair in a fro what the heck. SMH

Great natraul place for adults and children, all the stylist are very nice and great with there hands. If you are a dreadhead like myself Andrea will have you leaving the shop like a brand new person. The parking is a little crazy, but its a place that attracts a lot of business so that was expected. Check them out super friendly, great energy and its located by some of the best food spots in Houston.

Received issues with this salon on my wedding day and during the time that I had a very important business photo shoot. There are other natural salons that are a lot more professional in Houston and care more about customer satisfaction.

A little unorganized but they braided my daughters hair pretty cute. The only problem is that they claim to be a kids natural hair style place but had no borrets, or anything geared towards children. Kind of odd

I went to Zayds earlier this week, the person who butchered up my hair was Shae. I looked them up because the shop had decent reviews and they have been floating around Third Ward for a while so I believed that I would get a good quality haircut. I drove all the way from near Pearland. I had a picture of the cut that I wanted. It was a picture of myself with a cut that I had a year prior. I wanted go back short. I expressed to the lady that I had took my braids out and was concerned that my hair had not grown enough and may be stunted. I told her I wanted a trim so that I could wear my own hair so that I could doctor it back to normal. A trim, not a cut off...She asked if I wanted it longer at the top I said no. I told her that I did not like that style and wanted it even all around. I also told her no clippers. She asked if I wanted it faded, I said no please no fade. I also told her do not shave my sideburns. I told her that I did not want a manly looking haircut. Also remember that I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. She even referenced the picture several times. The first thing that this lady did when I get in the chair was start shaving my hair off with the clippers. Before I could say anything most of my hair was gone. She shaved the back and sides in a manly haircut. The top is longer than the rest exactly opposite of what I asked for. The hair it is uneven all over. Even at the top there are some very long pieces inconsistent with the rest of my hair. This hairstylists expressed that she have been doing hair for twenty years but this is the worst haircut that I ever had. Then she shaved off my sideburns and even shaved the front of my hair. On the website they have $30 for a trim/ cut / butchering...however they choose to describe this unwearable mess on my head, but when I asked her the price she charged $50. I am hoping my hair grows out quickly because I have several events to attend this month and I have bought two wigs but I am very unsatisfied. Also to top it off these women were very messy...whispering and talking about the other hairstylist that was there styling hair. Ladies, please pass this place up. Their business is slow for a reason..

A wonderful natural hair salon with great stylists! I used to work there! In the heart of Midtown!

I made an appointment with Zayds Natural Hair Salon using their scheduling software on Google. My appointment was confirmed with five minutes that day and I showed up early for the appointment. However, the front door was locked and no one appeared in the salon. When I called the establishment, I was redirected to what appeared to be the kids salon number, and a woman told me to come around the back of the establishmentAs I did, a car with a driver I could not see honked twice to alert the woman that I was there. She told me that there was no adult stylists present and that she would need to call someone in. When I told her I made this appointment in advance, she told me I must have made the appointment online for the kids salon (I did not) and that she would still need to see if someone was available. Then she walked up to the window of the unidentified driver in the car to converse with her!The woman, never got her name, came back to repeat what the driver told her, which was essentially that my hair was already short and that I would be better off seeing a barber.1) If I wanted to see a barber, I would have. I have short, afro kinky hair that I wear under and outside of wigs. I prefer my hair hand clipped by a female stylist who knows how to shape a womans edges and not give you a harsh edge up like some barbers do.2) The stylist didnt even bother to get out of the car to greet me, look at my hair, ask what I wanted done, or anything. She made the entire assessment just watching me from her car!3) Why even offer online booking if youre going to make silly excuses not to honor it?4) I was in this same shop before to have my same hair cut to an ever shorter length. With scissors. By a very nice woman who I tipped extremely well for her time and effort. That was the first and apparently last time Ive ever been in Zayds - apparently they dont even bother opening the door if they feel like your money isnt worth it.Look folks - I shop and spend Black as much as possible. Thats a big reason why I tried Zayds at first. I think its important to support stylists who are knowledgeable about Black hair - especially kinky 4a hair. If I can remember the name of the woman who cut my hair months ago, Id reach out to her in a second. But alas, I wont be returning to Zayds. Theres no reason to treat people who want to pay you good money like this.

Ive been coming here for 1 year 7 months now and I have never had a bad experience. The price is right for the skills of expertise from each stylist. My stylist is Babette and shes the bomb!!!!

Make the long story short they cant cut hair properly. They dont honor the price that they quoted you before..... that just the price to get u there. I was quoted 35 for a wash and trim end up paid 60.00 for a wash and cut bc they said my hair was uneven. So 15 for the wash and 45 for the cut. I walk out of there my hair look worse than before. And the shampoo they used dried my hair out it took a all most 4 weeks of deep conditioning treatments to get it back to looking healthy. Never again will I go there. They need to be shut down. I wish I could have read some of the reviews. Bc they have similar experiences as I did.

Had been to this place once for braids and had a good experience. So I decided to give it another try. Why did I do that???? The stylist were rude and disrespectful. They made salty comments about “washing my hair” and having to “straighten it “ like those weren’t services they offered. The stylist talked unprofessionally in front of clients and even made questionable comments about other customers mental state referring to them as “slow”. Just one day after getting my hair done, I had to re- straighten. High prices with poor execution. Save your money and your time and go some where else.

The lady shauna didn’t finish my friends hair she was rushing around complaining and i paid $65 for her just playing in his head.

I had a great experience. Went to the salon to get my daughter’s hair done. She was nervous because it was the first time to get her hair professionally styled. She had such a great time. The staff was very friendly. My daughter’s, Iretha, was very knowledgeable and nice. My daughter walked out of the salon with a new attitude. Haha. She loved her hair. Thank you Iretha for the great job you did on her hair.

The wait was too long but I did it for my daughter. I dont know if I will be back. I wont say who did my daughters hair but she did ok even though I think they charge a little too much. I really should of had a discount for the long wait.

I dont know where to begin with my review. I had been to Zayds once when I got my big chop and had a good experience so I thought Id give them a try and decided to go for two strand twists using my own hair. I went in for my consultation with Shawna the owner and she was very knowledgeable and gave me her card and told me that I could make my appointment online. I scheduled my appointment for a Friday morning since I was off that day and after my experience, Im glad that I was off the whole day. My appointment was scheduled for 10 oclock and I arrived at the salon about half an hour prior to my appointment and when I walked in one of the other stylist greeted me and asked who was my appointment with and I told them Shawna, they had to call her because she wasnt at the shop but it was early so no big deal. Another lady walked in and she says, I have a 10 o clock appointment with Shawna, in my mind I thought okay did she double book us on accident, giving her the benefit of the doubt. Finally my stylist rushes in about 10 minutes after 10, no apologies for running late and she takes the other lady to the back and starts to apply her color to her hair while Im still sitting in the waiting area. After about maybe 5 to 10 minutes later another stylist takes me to the shampoo bowl to wash and condition my hair, meanwhile the person I originally had the appointment with was with her other 10 oclock appointment. After getting my hair shampood and conditioned even sitting under the dryer and blown out, I sat in the chair waiting to get my hair trimmed and twisted for another 5 to 10 minutes before she came over and said anything to me or even touched my hair. Once she gave me my trim and started to do twist my hair I thought, finally shes going to work on my hair so I can get the heck out of here. I wish that was the case while doing my hair she stopped, not once but at least 3 times to finish her first client and one more who had come in during the time I was waiting to be serviced. After all the interruptions my stylist was finally focused on my hair and I was relieved. What disturbed me even more is that while I was getting my hair done, two ladies walked in (mother and daughter). The daughter was natural and her mother obviously wasnt. Her mother was looking for a former stylist who no longer worked at the salon who had done her hair before. So Im thinking maybe she was just going to get a shampoo and style but that wasnt the case before I knew it the woman sat in the chair and the stylist pulls out a bucket of relaxer and slaps it on her head. I was shocked because it appears that this salon will do whatever you want to your hair and thats fine but dont say that you are a natural hair salon and specialize in natural hair when you really specialize in all types of hair. Dont have a problem with it but it comes across a little deceptive. Anyway Shawna finally finishes my hair at wait for it.......3:00pm. Some people may say thats normal but I beg to differ and have been to another salon got the exact same service and I was done in 2 1/2 hours. Then after she finished and tells me how much my bill is, she says oh I didnt charge you for your trim, wait what? No thank you, hope to see you again, sorry you had to wait, sorry that I was late but you feel as though giving me a $10 discount would make up for everything else, well it didnt. I dont mind paying for good service and good service this was not. will not be returning.

Marcie at Zadys Natural Kids is EXCELLENT with children! I am super picky about who touches my childs head and how they treat my child. She also did a phenomemal job on her hair! I will be going back every 2 to 3 weeks to let Marcie do my baby hair. EXCEPTIONAL service! I would recommend her to anyone who has a child with natural hair!

I arrive to get a braided updo from a stylist by the name of Bianca only to have her say midway throughout doing my hair she had to pick up her daughter from school. She expected half a payment for half done hair. Highly unprofessional and quite ratchet. I would not support such a place that harbors characters like that stylist.

Was unfortunate to get a disastrous service from Bianca..I prepaid her for services in which she never rendered. She thought that because I was approximately 15-20 minutes late to my appointment, that she was entitled to leave (honestly, I think that she never showed up to the appointment). It takes approximately 3.5 - 4 hours to do my hair, so 15 minutes was included in the pre-paid fees of $125 for what should have still been included. I was told by the owner of the shop that she does this type of thing quite often, and that I should never pre-pay anyone from the 3rd ward, again. I was not offered my money back...just a sad apology- that didnt do me any good from the owner. I take solace in knowing that the wrong done will return to her (Bianca) ten fold. Warning: Be prepared to have a ghetto mentality with Bianca, because she has project antics, or choose another stylist. This is a common problem with patronizing African American businesses-One that I can do without.

Im new to the natural hair game, and needed to find someone to do my hair. I had tried to make an appointment with a couple of different stylist at other locations, and both either canceled or didnt call me back. A coworker recommended Zaydes, and said that it is one of the best natural hair salons in Houston. I spoke with Shawna and scheduled a consultation. She was very friendly and inviting over the phone, and in person. After my consultation, Shawna asked when I would like to get my hair done. I told her today, and she agreed to work me in. I was grateful that she was able to work me in to her busy schedule. While there, I saw all of the stylist do some amazing styles from dreads, locs, up- dos, rod sets, and crochet styles.I left with a beatiful rod set, cut and styled by Shawna and Natosha. Im definitely going back.Every stylists in Zaydes is very talented. I would highly recommend Zaydes for all you naturalistas out there.
