I went to Xio and she is an absolute gem! Very personable, easy to talk to, and most of all gives a stellar haircut. I have been to many barbers and stylists in Houston (Im 35 years old, for reference) and she gave me one of the best fades that I have ever seen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I was treated with the upmost respect, had a lovely conversation with the owner, and loved my haircut. I was recommended shampoos and conditioners when I asked about them. I bought some, not sure how old they are, but they were reasonably priced and on the natural side. The owner gave me a haircut and I’ve been told many times by many people that they love my hair. I’ve even been asked where I went.I have curly dark brown hair. I cut it myself and that was a huge mistake! This salon totally fixed my mistake and my hair was cut in visible layers that complement my face. My haircut is set up in a way that when my hair grows it’ll keep on looking better and better. Thank you so much! Great chat with her also. Motivated me to start my own business.My picture is me with my haircut after a month or so and not styled, just got out of bed. But I think you can still see that it is layered. :)

I have lived in Houston for 2 years and have struggled to find a stylist I like and trust to do my hair. Celina at Nu Cuts did an amazing job and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it. She listened to what I wanted and then described what she was going to do before and while she was cutting my hair. She was also very friendly and the shop was very clean. I will be returning to Nu Cuts Hair Salon in Montrose!

I was helped by Gina and she was amazing. I got most of my hair cut for donation and she did a great job. We had a proper discussion as to what hairstyle I wanted. She is easy to converse with and cares about how the cut looks in the end. She wasn’t rushing at all and genuinely cared about my hair. I would recommend her, she earned herself a regular. There was no wait, just call in and make an appointment.

Did a good job for the good price! Was able to do a walk-in no problem. Very lovely service and will definitely keep this place in mind when visiting Houston again!

Lissette was my stylist and unfortunately she’s no longer there. They all do a great job and I’m planning to go to Celina from now on. Frankie is a very nice person who was so caring and understanding when he helped me buzz my hair off due to my chemotherapy treatment. Best of all, the atmosphere is warm and friendly not standoffish or high brow. You feel right at home.

First time there and will go back

Went in based on Google reviews and was not disappointed. Pepe understood exactly what I wanted - remain blond but make my existing highlights a little darker and more natural while blending in and covering some grays. I have no idea how to achieve that but he did! Mixed some highlighting with demi-permanent color and it looked fantastic and super natural. Layered cut was great too. I need to go back again for a refresh soon. And the price was right as well. Definitely recommend!

Celina was fantastic! She listened to me and my ideas and was very forthcoming and knowledgeable in regards to my hair type. She told me the pros and cons of various fixes and suggested fabulous highlights that I absolutely love. She confirmed with me several times about all the length we were taking off. She made my hair healthy looking again and it is fabulous! Thank you for helping me love my hair again!

If I could give more stars I would. Ive been coming to see Celina for over 8 years. Shes a magician with color and a master with a pair of scissors. I travel from San Antonio to get my hair done since I moved 3 years ago. Ive recently started bringing my mom as well to see Celina and she couldnt be more happier.The stylists are always so welcoming, fun and friendly. I absolutely love the vibe from this place. Absolutely recommend Nu Cuts and all of the stylists.

Negative fellow works there. As he yanked my hair with the scissors in quickly cutting it, I asked, Do you have to cut so fast? He replied, Yeah. Quick and easy.

Price here was much better than other salons in the area and they did a great job on my hair. Everyone was really friendly there too.

I Researched the salon on the website under cheap haircuts. Not only was the hair cut not cheap it was so poorly executed that I had to go back to have my hair cut evenly which made it shorter than I wanted. In the end it was still so uneven that parts of one side of my hair are too short to pull back while the other side can be pulled back. Let the buyer beware!

They lied to me about where I could find the best hairdresser they ever had...Ivan Martinez...After he left I had 3 cut and colors there...not worth it! IVAN WORKS AT VINCENTS SALON RIGHT DOWN THE STREET!!! I found him after months of searching and I know there are others. Dont waste your time or your money at NuCuts..they are rude and give standard cuts at best..

Carlos was great!!! I told him I wasnt sure what cut I wanted but explained what I needed with my hair and he said he knew what to do. Explained it to me and it was a prefect solution to theo dilemma I was having.Starting the fire Academy, I cant have hair in my face, need to be able to put in a ponytail, but didnt want a pixie, and it was too heavy to keep it as long as I had it. He gave me short layers and thinned out the thick part of the hair in the back. Its light now and still long to tie back and style.Great prices too. Definitely worth it.

The parking lot in the strip mall at 515 Westheimer tows your car if you walk away from the immediate area. A nice welcome to the customers of the stores in the strip mall at 515 Westheimer Road between Taft and Montrose. Please know that a towing company is watching and taking pictures of you as you walk around the area. Then they take your personal property (your car) and hook it up to a tow truck and drive it half hour away to Harwin Auto Storage. The towing company is IB Towing Services LLC at 7400 Harwin and Irving Otteman manhandles your vehicle hooking it up to a tow truck. Welcome to Mid-Town Houston. You cannot walk away from the strip mall you park in because the city allows a company to take your car and charge you almost $300 to get it back.

Ive been coming to Celena for almost 8 years now, and I cant recommend her and the salon enough - great service, great skill (!), great location, great everything. I dont trust anyone else to touch my hair anymore - even when I lived in Austin, I drove into Houston just to go to Nu Cuts - and I still drive across town now, because no one makes my hair look as fabulous as Celena!
