Hoover is so fortunate to have this first class facility . It is so much better that going down town! Dr. Stephen Bell is an excellent internist and I highly recommend him!

Great experience with mammogram last week. Bright clean friendly atmosphere. I am going to find a primary care physician here next week for my checkup that is due. Love location parking and ease of overall access to the facility.

I have NEVER received care as good as when I went to UAB Medicine. My lab results were back within 6 hours and the doctor communicated with me about each one. I received calls by the end of the day for referrals and appointments made as soon as I said the choice was agreeable. Amazing people and attitudes. Everyone wanted to be there to work and help the patients.

It was great. I was done in an hour. I got a mammogram and a Mirena. I love Mrs. Robinson. She was informative and nice. This was my first time getting a mammogram and it went smoothly. Thanks again ladies. They have a wonderful staffer too.

The staff at UAB Medicine Hoover has went out their way to ensure I had full access of communication due to my deafness and ensured that I had an interpreter.The facility was clean and organized. My questions and concerns were answered in the best way possible so I could fully understand. I have the best doctor (Lisha Thornton) in the world she is very patience with each of her patients, not only does she help to keep us in great health, she takes time to listen to us and not rush us as if we are in an assembly line. She is caring and loving and just a people person who really cares and is not about just serving us to get a paycheck. I am very grateful and thankful for her.

I love visiting UAB Medicine Hoover. The staff is professional and friendly from the front door until completion of the visit. My doctor is Sameera Davuluri and her assistant is Lovie and they are the best team ever! I would recommend Dr. D any day.

Dr. Ssengoba-Ubogu was the on call doctor when I called with an urgent medical issue. I had just gotten off of a flight when the issue arose and was in an Uber when she returned my call. I explained this to her. Still she encouraged me to divulge private medical information because the uber driver ‘doesn’t know me’. She mocked me and my concern and was dismissive and unprofessional. Do not recommend!

Highly recommend Hoover GI Surgery. and doctor Gunnells. They did a great job of getting me checked in quickly,. The waiting time in the waiting room was less than two minutes. This is my second time seeing Dr. Gunnells. He was in the room right after the nurse took my vitals. He followed up on my first visit and we both decided it would be best to wait to have surgery at this time. I decide later I want to have surgery, for me to call for an appointment and we would discuss surgery at that time.

UAB Medicine Hoover is truly a great facility. If anyone wants accurate results, a friendly staff, and great doctors, I highly recommend this place!

Very clean and they were very careful about making sure Covid is not spread. The staff and doctors were kind and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this location.

I just had the worst OBGYN experience. The CRNP was very rushed and had no knowledge of my medical history despite the fact that I am an established patient. She checked the fetal heart rate, and then she told me I could leave. She did not ask if I had any questions or concerns. I had several questions and started to ask my first one. She did not effectively answer my question and she left the room before I could ask a followup question . I asked the front desk if I can schedule my future appointments with my actual physician and the earliest they had was August. Right now is May. I have never felt so neglected as a patient. This is my third child and my first two were born in another state. I had always seen a physician, the same physician, for both pregnancies the entire time. I am very disappointed with UAB OBGYN and would not recommend them.

Dr. Abed is a very personable and knowledgable doctor, and UAB Medicine Hoover is a great facility. The staff was all very friendly and everyone was very attentive.

Dr. Davaluri is a great doctor. She has overseen my healthcare for years and I have always felt heard, considered, and involved. She never makes me feel rushed either. The new facility is spacious and has new high tech features.

UAB West Freestanding ER was surprising fast and easy! Last May I had a fall that required stitches on my knee and we had never been to this location before. We didnt know what to expect considering COVID changes and most of my ER visits at other hospitals previously had taken several hours. I walked in and got out in just over an hour! They are a well oiled machine - I didnt wait in the waiting at all, I was in a room in minutes, seen by a nurse within 5 minutes, seen by Dr. King in 10 minutes, they did check-in by phone while I was in the room to reduce exposure in the waiting room, and I was walking out in record time. Very impressed by Dr. King and everyone there. Much appreciated!

The employees are all very nice, check in was not difficult at all, wait time wasnt long, having the amenities to get yourMammogram and lab work done all in the same place at one location on the same day, so convenient and very efficient. The logistics were very well executed.

Outstanding customer care

I visited the OB-GYN service upstairs and every woman who I met during my visit, from the greeter checking my temperature to the front desk staff to the nurses and PA who attended to me, far exceeded my expectations and were so incredibly welcoming and comforting. I was extremely anxious about my appointment beforehand and despite trying to hold it together, I started to tear up during the visit. The PA and nurse immediately noticed and were very attentive to me. They clearly truly cared about my wellbeing and were so sweet to take the extra time to talk to me about my worries, helping me to feel infinitely more at ease and comfortable. At the end of the visit, I was so relieved and had such an amazingly positive experience that I could have cried from joy if I had any tears left! The location is also so convenient and easily accessible with ample parking, and the building is brand new and beautiful. I can’t emphasize enough the wonderful experience and exceptional care I received here.

Dr Whatley is unbelievably unprofessional and incompetent he couldnt simply extract my teeth without leaving some behind only to cause a second surgery and is the only reason why I dont give a 5 star review.

Had a wonderful TeleHealth visit with Dr. Emily Staples. Setting up an appointment through UAB was fairly easy and every single person I spoke with from-scheduling, to my nurse (Jackie), to the doctors who met with me were so pleasant and positive. I felt listened to and that time was taken to address all of my concerns and thoughts. Even though things are a bit different during COVID-19, my visit went almost smoother than any other doctors visit and without office waiting time. I was able to get quality care right to fit right into my work day. They were also super prompt following up to make sure everything was taken care of. Kudos to yall! Thank you for working so hard everyday!

New Office is beautiful.. Dr. Thorton is my Dr. very sweet lady. I know I’m in good hands. All the nurses have always been very sweet when i go in. I wanted to brag on NP Philip.. he is a very great listener..I’ve seen him once before and he was great then..and I was always the person who wants to see my Dr and if i couldn’t i would not go....but he is amazing.. people need to know NP’s are so amazing and work just as hard to care for us just like our Dr’s! i loved how he took so many things into consideration during my visit and i didn’t feel rushed.. he’s a caring man. God bless you all there who genuinely care. Stay that way! Need more people like this in the health field!

Ive been a patient there for a few years. In June of 2017 I setup a follow up appt. for Dec. 19 at 7:40 am. I arrive at 7:30 am, register, take a seat, and 15 minutes later Im told that UAB Downtown tried calling me three times in Sept, Oct, & Nov to reschedule. I said well they failed. Both my work and cell numbers are active and were on file. I never received a call at either. I asked why wouldnt they send a message through the Patient Portal which UAB says is the best way to communicate with their staff? Why would yall allow me to show up if you havent made contact with me after setting this appointment 5 months in advance! This isnt the first time this has happened here but it made me post this review. The women at the front office talk about each other within earshot of the patients in the lobby. Very catty. I bent their ear and refused to leave until my Doc saw me which she did. She told me it was their fault and she would see me. She made it right. The lab techs, nurse techs, and my doc are great. Cant say that for their system of calling people or the women up front.

Ive been a patient here since I was 18 and Im 36 I love my Dr but the office manager has no compassion and is rude I came in on emergency basis and I didnt have my $2 copay and she was going to make me leave without it thank God for another patient coming to my rescue Ms Annie I hope you are never in my position

My mother is a patient of Dr. Ssengoba. After two ER visits and hospital stays my mom had two follow-up appointments. Dr. Ssengoba and her staff were professional, thorough and efficient. The wait time was less than 15 minutes each visit and the doctor spent a lot of time with my mother. She even stated, I hope you guys arent in a hurry (of course we werent). Although I am currently not a patient, I would like to be.

Beware! Terrible clinic. Waited 3 months for appointment, they send several reminders on when to show up. I go to clinic 20 minutes early, no Dr!! Staff said dr has been out all week. They tell me they called but I didnt answer and my voicemail wasnt setup. Lol. Wow, I never miss a call (smart watch on my wrist vibrates upon every call) and my voicemail is setup. The problem rest in their unwillingness to pick the phone and make a personal call. They used automated robo calls, thus maybe the technology malfunction. Wasted my time and now wants me to reschedule for 2 months later! What a joke, dont waste your time with this clinic.UPDATE! Made an appointment with different doctor in this office, waited 3 more months, they call and cancel my appointment. They want to reschedule me for 3 months later! So now Im waiting for 9 months for my first appointment, and maybe, just maybe they wont cancel again. Terrible clinic !!Update 4/3/2018Since getting my 1st appointment , and actually seeing the dr, I have had good experiences. Dr Ssengoba is great!
