Dr Harvey over medicates. He prescribed me and my mom. When my brother questioned him about my mom he dismissed her as a patient. She had to go through withdrawals. I was not aware of this until much later. I remained a patient. Always waiting an hour or more for a 10 minute visit. I was having a crisis with my son. I tried to talk to him about this. I was told “ That’s not my problem”. The exact same day he told me he was taking me off of all my meds but one. I was shocked at the way he continued to talk to me. When leaving I mentioned to the receptionist that he had changed. Her reply was “He sure has”. I was told he possibly was in trouble for writing so many prescriptions. I don’t know this for a fact. 18 months after I quit seeing him I receive a letter from a collection agency for 100.00. I never missed an appointment nor did I ever receive a bill from them. He is NOT a fit doctor in my opinion. I would not send my cat to him for psychiatric matters.

Hes horrible. How he handled my moms dementia was awful. How he responded to me and my dad was awful, rude and condescending. How he handled her treatment was beyond awful. He put her on multiple cocktails every 3 months for depression, never meds for dementia or anxiety and behavior related to same, put her (and us) through 16 ECT (shock) treatments at Brookwood as inpatient in their psych ward for depression and she has dementia! Hes a disgrace to his profession. You know its bad when her doctor we started seeing after him said so based on our experience. He was appalled at Dr. Harveys behavior and our treatment. She was his patient about 6 years ago. I hope this helps others to seek treatment elsewhere.

The worst doctor I have ever had to deal with concerning my moms mental health. He never would call us and give any updates and made threats. He released our mom with us knowing that she is still suicidal and he didn’t care. She can’t take care of herself mentally or physically but he released her anyway. I told several different people at the hospital the concern. They didn’t do anything to help the situation. She fell and hit her head and a nurse happen to tell me they saw signs of dementia. I asked over and over to talk to the dr. The social worker would just say well I have told him to call you. He said he didn’t care who I told or complained to that we didn’t care about her. I said you have no right to say anything like that because you don’t know anything about us. I said you may deal with those type of people but that’s not us I have helped with my mom since I was a child. He continued to cuss and was being rude because I had called patient advocate and tried to get an answer. He shouldn’t be over anyone’s health care. A shame nobody has taken reviews seriously enough to do anything. He only called me after I called to get information and he was mad.

Horrible physician and person. Too bad less than zero is not an option. If he had taken time to leave his boyfriend’s side in ‘05 my mom would still be alive. Atrocious...got on the stand and cried about some work he did over a downed plane in the 90’s.

Its unfortunate others have not had the experience Ive had. Everyone is different so I certainly am nobody to discount theirs. However, I wanted to add a quick review. Ive been seeing Dr Harvey since 2013. He has always been helpful, and very open minded. Its imperative to keep in mind his focus is how your medicine is, as it pertains to your treatment plan. He works directly with your therapist, who we do the main talking with.

Been using Dr. Harvey at Grayson andAssociates since 2012 and have had nothing but good things to say. His nurse comes in talk to us and then he comes in my son and I discuss things we need to and the I go out and anything else my son wants to talk to him about one on one they do...he does believe respect being shown on both sides. There have been times my son would not like what he had to say but they would discuss it out on both points of view. And come to an understanding.

I have been a patient of Dr. Harvey’s since May 2016. He along with his staff helped me through the most difficult mental and physical episode in my life. I continue to see Dr. Harvey and his staff at the Galleria location. I was in the hospital at Grandview just last week April 1st through April 4th. The hospital experience continues to convince me that I made the right choice selecting this physician , Grayson and Associates and Grandview Medical Center as the resource for my health. If I could give a greater than 5 star rating I would . I’m grateful and blessed.

This man should not be allowed To practice medicine in any reputable hospital .He was assigned as my fathers psychaiatrist after my father was admitted into Grand View hospital post being attacked and assaulted at a local nursing home . My father is a 75 year old dementia patient who at the time of his attack had a UTI and extremely low blood sugar. Our family was very insistent upon my dad not being return to the nursing home where he had been physically assaulted however doctor Harvey and the social worker Abbey were insistent upon him being returned to that facility and worked desperately to block any effort we made to have my dad moved to a different nursing facility. Dr. Harvey was very condescending rude and dismissive in how he handled our concerns. In fact one of the technicians at Grandview told us doctor Harvey does not like talking to the family members of his patients and he is often very dismissive of their concerns. Doctor Harvey should not be allowed to practice medicine in the great state of Alabama or anywhere in the worldHe is a licensed a****** with no heart or compassion for his patients or their families.
