Lucky I called ACG! Not only did they get me in immediately for my dog, Dr. Olsen said she would take care of the stray I had found and get her blood work and vaccinated so I can have piece of mind that both dogs are protected. I cant thank them enough for the care and getting us on the way to wellness. Warm, friendly and patient.Recently relocated to Greenville. I made sure my dog was all up-to-date on everything with Vet in previous location. Coming home from work, I find a stray running loose out in the country. After securing stray in my car, I run her to a vet near home. Shes not chipped, no collar and I figure shes will need several vaccinations, especially being around my dog. Sure enough, my dog gets a GI issue. Looking for help to get both dogs looked at, I call several vets. All practices are two-three weeks out for appointments for new clients! Amanda with ACG searched their schedule for the next day and found me an appointment. Plus, she said they would work the stray in the best they could, but it may be at different times. I just wanted to get my guy feeling better and have some more details and get the stray protected. Thank you, Animal Care of Greenville!!!!

Have been taking my pets exclusively to Animal Care locations for years. ALWAYS receive wonderful care and excellent, thoughtful, professional advice and direction from both vets and techs. ALWAYS have friendly and engaging interactions with staff, techs, and vets. With all the clients they see and pets they care for, they still care for my dogs as though they are family. Have appreciated all they have done for my animals over the 15 years we’ve been clients.Last visit, we were assisted by ALEX—she was so patient curbside with all that I needed to discuss about my latest rescue. She took great care in attending to all of my boy’s needs and communicated all my questions to Dr. Wells and staff. Super friendly and positive attitude despite a parking lot full of people waiting!Dr. Wells, also, was so thorough and kind and down-to-earth—exactly the kind of doctor you’d want treating your pets.Recommend all of their offices where staff, techs and vets are superb!

The lady came out to get my dog because of COVID-19 rules, and she was very nice and used her own leash. They called me when surgery was over to let me know everything was OK and to pick her up probably between 2 and 5 o’clock. Brought her out , very informative ,lots of paperwork ,medication ,very great price.

I feel silly writing this right after I laid my dog to rest but I cannot stress enough how wonderful the vet is. Vet tech Sarah came out to get my dog almost every time I came this week and she was so sweet and gentle with her. Doctor Lu Olson was also very sweet and while being straight forward, she was able to give me options and you could tell she advocated for my pet. Not once did I ever feel they wanted money, you could tell they love and care for the animals. I laid my sweet baby to rest today in a comfortable room and they gave her ice cream, which she loved! I was able to hold her and take my time. I will forever be thankful for the calm and gentle experience and will always appreciate this vet practice.

All I wanted to know was how much they charge to spay. However, any place who doesnt care enough to respond to a person, isnt a place I trust with my pet.

I have been going here for a couple months and it used to be a good office. However, today I was hung up on by a receptionist after trying to make an appointment for my cat who is already an established patient at this location. I was in the middle of making an appointment for my cat and had more questions about what the visit would encompass when the receptionist just randomly said yup, ok bye. It was highly unprofessional and during the call, she was not the most friendly. After being put on hold for 8 minutes, I expected a more thorough call that would last more than 1.5 minutes when I still had more questions about the care my cat would receive. Im taking my pets elsewhere.

I can not tell you how happy I am with my dogs experience with Animal Care of Greenville. I am new to the area from Colorado and have a 10.5yo Rottweiler with fear aggression and was very concerned about finding her vet care. I honestly can say that in her 10.5 years of life this has been the best vet appointment she has had. Vet Tech Alex came out to get her from the car and was very understanding that it is stressful situation for Izzy and I never felt she judged Izzy or thought she was a bad dog for her fears. Dr. Wells called me to go over the appointment and spent the time to talk through options for her anxiety and some health concerns. And again he talked very positively about Izzy and I felt a level of compassion that I havent encountered from any other vet. I was very pleasantly surprised at the affordability of the services. I am so relieved to have finally found a such caring veterinary practice for my dogs.

I took my animal in for a neuter. He came back with a paralyzed leg and mangled foot. The mangled foot still looks rough and has not grown back it’s fur. Also, that leg hasn’t recovered from the paralysis after two months. The staff have no explanation for either of the two injuries that occurred at their clinic.Update: Reach out? Of course, we reached out immediately and Animal Care of Greenvilles interpretation of We would like the opportunity to investigate your feedback further. Is charging me for a CT scan to investigate an issue that did not exist prior to my pets visit. It has been approximately 4 months and my pet does not put equal amount of weight on his back legs, that injured foot is noticeably larger than the other, and the fur has yet to grow back. This review is not an opportunity for Animal Care of Greenville to rectify a careless mistake. This review is to make others aware of my experience and realize what is within the realm of possibilities when dealing with Animal Care of Greenville. We will not be back. Thanks for reading

Seriously the best vet office around!!! We travel all around the country & always come back here when our dogs need to visit the vet. Everyone here is AMAZING!! This is the place to go if you want professional & friendly service. They make you feel like family & treat your fur babies as if they were their own.The first time we came in a few years ago, they saved our dogs life. From multiple surgeries to him going into cardiac arrest, they did everything possible to keep our boy alive & he made it through! All because of the care and love they gave him. ♥️ They are truly heroes & we trust them so much.Fast forward to the other day when our fur baby fractured his tooth & they were able to work us into their busy schedule the very next day! With COVID, they are doing a great job of keeping themselves and the patients safe. When we pulled in, we texted them to let them know we were there, & instantly were sent a response that someone would be with us shortly. We waited in our car for a little bit (no more than ordinary waiting room wait time) & then someone came out, went over everything we needed done & took our boy in. About 15 minutes later we received a call from the vet going over his diagnosis. Very prompt service despite being extremely busy. Any wait time is worth it for our boy to be in the best hands!Grateful for all the people that work in this office & would highly recommend bringing your fur babies here!!

My five month old puppy was a patient at Animal Care. While registered as a patient, he had serious symptoms suggesting a possible blockage. I called to get an appointment and explained what was going on and they said they didn’t have any appointment available until over two weeks from that day. I said “I don’t understand, what am I supposed to do if my dog is sick?” And they just told me to go to the emergency vet which didn’t open for another few hours. Meanwhile, I called another vet in Greenville that I had never been to. After hearing my dog’s symptoms, they took him in right away and were able to even schedule a surgery the very next day.

When I called with an emergency this morning for my dog to be seen, I was told they were booked and I could take her to Kinston! My dog is a patient there and was extremely ill this morning, throwing up, shaking, couldn’t move, etc. they completely disregarded my concerns and my dogs health! I understand you are booked, but there should be something set up to help with unforeseen circumstances! I called another vet in Greenville, which my dog has never been too, and they were booked as well but they told me to drop her off and they would fit her in and they did and thank God they did as the vet told me my dog was really sick and don’t know what would have happened to her if she had not been seen! Unacceptable and I will be moving my animals from there.

I religiously use Animal care or Greenville, I have for over 6 years now. I usually go to the McMillan lane location but due to covid I used the 14th street location this time. My puppers had a vet appointment at 10:40am, I arrived and called and was put on hold for 7 minutes. When someone finally answered the phone they advised they would have someone out shortly to retrieve her. I then sat in the vehicle with my dog for an hour waiting. During this hour I continuously called and would be put on hold, hung up on or just not answered at all. At 11:40am, I finally got in contact with a receptionist. They checked on the issue and had someone out quickly (as if they forgot we were here). By this point my dog was getting anxious and thirsty. Usually the vet apts take a short time and we are on our way. When I checked out via phone they didn’t tell me a total at all and just took my payment quickly. I was charged for a extensive blood panel that no one asked me if I wanted done or told me the cost of, granted my dog is older and I would have definatly considered it but they did not ask before charging me or doing it. When I received my dog back to top it all off, they trimmed her nails and cut it too short causing her to bleed and did not say a single thing to me about her injury (I understand things happen but you should atleast notify the owner. I had towel on the seat but if I has not blood would have gotten on my seat)I understand CoViD is making things difficult, but not to the point someone’s dog is put through so much. I still love Animal care of Greenville and will use them for my animals, but this is too much in one visit.

First, I want to say that the personnel were friendly. Second, Dr. Whiting is awesome. Third, I will say that there is some gross mismanagement of scheduling and a major disconnect between the people answering the phone and the people performing the work. Weve been with them for a year and are leaving because the last two issues weve seen as major, they have put off for weeks due to scheduling. BUT, if I want to get on a cancellation list, its up to me to call every day at 7:30 to find out who might have canceled? No - invest in a system where YOU notify your customers of availability.

I really appreciate the care I’ve gotten at Animal Care of Greenville for my cats. It’s a simple thing, but they are transparent with costs, and if I decline a service, they still treat me nicely (unlike other places I’ve been to which become very rude or cold if you decline $300 worth of bloodwork). I also appreciate the friendliness of the staff since I worry a lot over my cats’ health. It IS a busy office, which has gotten even busier during COVID, so expect to wait a bit. Just like a human doctor’s office, if you need a med refill or an appointment, the closer you call to 8am, the better, because they are just swamped later in the day. 👍

I question whether the vet or office manager knows how our request for urgent treatment was handled. Our pug exhibited the signs of a urinary tract infection; hematuria and excretion of sediment along with urinary frequency and nocturia. These abrupt changes accompanied by dramatic reduction in physical activity are worrisome in a dog with a history of urinary tract infections (diagnosed and treated in March and November of 2019).When I called I was offered an appt in 2 weeks. I requested a more expedient option of collecting the urine and dropping it off for testing as well as an antibiotic prescription for the infection while waiting for that appointment. This option was denied. At this point I identified myself as a physician and explained my concern that waiting 2 weeks for that appt for a diagnosis and treatment con result in progression to kidney infection and blood infection with death occurring as a real possibility, before the date of the appointment. An explanation and options were reported to me;-An appt for examining the dog was required first since the dog “had not been seen in over a year”; (last appt there was in November or 9 months ago)-Calling daily in the am for earlier appt in event of a cancellation was suggested.- Lastly, emergency care in Wilson, NC located 45 minutes away, was offered as alternative I could try.I recognize the value of protocols for evaluation and delay of testing and deferring treatment. Casual or frequent treatment with antibiotics often leads to antibiotic resistance in patients. With Covid-19 pandemic and the high volume of patient care experienced now at this facility I dont understand why there was no exception for this acute problem under the current circumstances. It is not like the pug was new to this practice I confirmed that the pug was well-known to this facility over the past years of visits and care. This pug has had dental and facial surgery there as well as routine care, vaccines and treatments for infection.I certainly hope that the trust we have placed on the care providers at this facility has not been misdirected to a revenue-based care plan system versus a compassionate facility where the pet’s best interests and well-being are the priority. Unfortunately, this is not the first incident where I began to wonder if revenue wasn’t the primary objective. Perhaps the receptionist is inadequately prepared to triage the calls while intent on filling the schedule, regardless of patient’s conditions. Had the delay on the phone not suggested a busy front desk I would have called again and asked for the manager or a callback from the veterinarian. I chose to avoid creating more delays in access to care for others by finding an alternative for this urgent matter.Existing patients of the practice should not be routed to urgent care facilities out of town when reasonable options are available and requested.

So many things were wrong.1. I was a NEW client and not ONE staff member introduced themselves to me, not even the veterinarian himself. Nobody introduced themselves.2. Three staff members came into the exam room and immediately clipped the nails of my cat, without saying a word to me. Then they left.3. It was after they clipped her nails and the clippers were sitting on the counter when I saw that THE CLIPPERS WERE RUSTY. THE CLIPPERS WERE RUSTY!!!!4. The equipment had rust on it.5. The counter had not been dusted. The sink had not been cleaned.6. The chairs were stained and dirty.7. The floorboards were dusty. All of the dust, rust and stains made me wonder what the surgical area was like. I cant even imagine why a vet would keep such unsterile conditions. It made me wonder if the needles are clean as I watch them give her rabies shot and microchip.I am so disappointed.

Greenville is full of good animal clinics but ACoG is hands down my favorite, I always feel like family when I walk in their doors. Thank you SO MUCH ACoG for your hospitality, professionalism and expertise!!

Although it is stated on their website that they accept emergencies, please do not waste any time calling or driving here. I called with an emergency and was turned away as clients with appointments are given top priority. So again please do not waste precious time contacting them in the case of an emergency.

Brought in my American Pit Terrier for an emergency visit since our normal vet was closed today. My dog was having a bad allergic reaction and we had no appointment but we were able to see the doctor within 15 minutes of walking in. They were so quick and helpful which was very much appreciated since I was in panic mode due to my dogs quick swelling! Good to know that they are around and ready to help! We will definitely be back!

I would highly recommend Animal Care of Greenville!! But most importantly our Dog “Queen” (60 pound Pitt Bull) does!Warning this is a long review lol,so this is what it says: If you are looking for a Top Notch, affordable, caring, experienced staff and a clean place then this is it!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dr.Olson and the staff went above and beyond to make sure our baby was accommodated to. It was a very clean, nice atmosphere! A first visit can be stressful on everyone as our dog is very friendly but can be a little protective. For that reason and it being Queens first visit they took her outside to her make her more comfortable and to gain trust with her. I loved that! The way they handled her and communicated with us made the whole process a nice transition.Completely upfront about pricing and all available options. If you are on a budget they made it clear what was recommended to be done first (legally) and any necessary treatments that were a priority for her and all discussed in a very nice room to the side of the front desk. Very professional. Queen had a lot that needed to be done and they completely put her first by suggesting not to do certain things (nail trimming) till a future visit so they could establish a good first visit and relationship. They didn’t want to stress her for things that could wait yet tackled the most important with ease.We had A LOT of questions! Not only were all of them answered the advice and time spent with us was very impressive. We did not feel rushed and felt it was good advice on things like diet, and routines. Having this great advice we no longer have to second guess of what we are doing for our animal is healthy and good or not!We were a little nervous ourselves bringing Queen in because she is protective. Although she gets out a lot and goes to dog stores and parks and walks..... she still is a animal at the end of the day and we were just nervous. Our dog was a little anxious only because she was in a first time new surrounding. All of that went out the door because of how we were treated! The transition to get Queen to go with them was seamless! I couldn’t even believe she went right with them! They told us to hand them the leash over and off she went. Places should be trained and know how to handle all types of animals and situations but I will say I have been to several with some past animals and this place knows what they are doing!Queen had shots and new pills she had not had before. After we left, for the next few days Queen wasn’t feeling well (as expected probably)and we called several times and they again were able to help us out with our concerns and it was just hands down a great experience for everyone!

I have been taking our Maltese/Shih Tzu (Lucy) to Animal Care since she was born. The staff are kind and professional. Ive left Lucy at the Clinic to be groomed and for routine medical care several times. When I pick her up, I can tell she was well cared for. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks Animal Care!

Animal Care veterinary hospitals have been taking care of my cats for several years now. They are straight shooters, have the best interest of your pet as their main focus, great doctors and go above and beyond to accommodate their patients and owners! From adult cats, senior cats, last moments, new kittens, and a bajillion questions in between they have never let me down.

The staff is really kind at this location. Because I am not familiar with Greenville & I don’t know where to take my 2 dogs, I’ve given them several chances to redeem themselves. My experiences:1. 1st visit there was for grooming & I paid approx. $100. I picked them up near closing & after getting home, I noticed a smell like urine on them & they had missed places when grooming them. I called back to let them know about the terrible grooming job & to let them know I didn’t think they had been bathe. I was told to bring them back so they could redo them. Never had the time so I just let it go & took them to Pink Poodle (awesome job!). Later I found out they had probably placed them in a kennel after grooming them.2. 2nd visit was for boarding. The area in the back had a STRONG urine smell. After dropping the dogs off, they had to call me because my dogs were getting out of their kennel & they were afraid they’d be hurt by one of the big dogs...so they moved both of them to the smaller kennels on the hospital side.3. THIS WAS THE WORSE! My dogs stayed with this establishment for 4 days & were infested with fleas. Aft bringing them home one of them begin displaying unusual behavior. He was Scratching ALOT (both were scratching) chewing his leg, hollering as if in pain, kept scooting underneath me as if afraid & kept scratching his bed. I kept checking the dog for a whole day looking for a broken leg or anything. I called them to explain my dogs behavior & ask if the dogs had been around other dogs. Finally at 1:30am the next day, he hollered again & I checked his leg... this time fleas were ALL over his leg & his underbelly. I ran to Walmart & bought flea shampoo. It took 4 washings to rid the 1 dog of fleas & the other took 3 washings. I called back to complain that their establishment had a flea infestation, I was told that probably one of the sick dogs had brought them in & apologized. I wasn’t offered a refund or type of compensation. I’ve had my babies for 8 years & they’ve NEVER had fleas. The sad part is, it was obvious they’d had fleas for several days & worse could have had them their entire stay....which means no one probably checked on them. Well needless to say, they will NEVER return.

A special thanks to Dr. Lu Olson for taking care of my cat Buster. A year ago Buster began to vomit uncontrollably. When I rushed him to the vet clinic, it was Dr. Olson who examined Buster. She immediately determined that Busters vomiting was due to his extreme dental decay. Dr. Olson explained that Buster would need extensive dental surgery which would include removal of several teeth and a cleaning of the remainder teeth. Dr. Olson assured me that Buster would recuperate and return to normal. Within a week Buster was back to normal - minus a few teeth but able to eat.I highly recommend that all pet owners routinely, at least once a year, make an appointment to have a dental screening for their dog and/or cat. Prevention is the key for dental disease - and will eliminate the need for surgery - just ask Buster!!!Thanks again to Dr. Olson and the wonderful GVille Vet Staff!!!

Pros: The doctors are knowledgeable, and they helped us out a lot when Zora and Luigi were sick. The hours are good. Facility is clean.Cons: Nice that they will fax in an Rx for you to an online vendor, but sometimes it takes them 3 days to do this. They want to fax it, and they dont give you the written Rx unless it can be filled at a local pharmacy. Me sending it priority mail would be faster. This doesnt save me time waiting for them to do it. I have found that the vets like to send you home with supplements that are not needed or a cheaper alternative could be used. They use Endosorb (which is very expensive) when you could get Imodium at Wal-Mart for maybe $3. Imodium works very well.Another time I wanted to change my dog Bella’s Rx. I was told I needed to come in for a consult with the doctor. I found this odd since Bella had just been in to be seen by the doctor two weeks prior. I took time away from work, packed her up and went in for the consult. The doctor didn’t need to see Bella. He just talked to me for probably 10 minutes, and we decided not to put her on the Rx. I was charged $20 for a conversation that could have taken place over the phone saving me both time and money. The dental special is great, but when you get in there, they try to sell you on all sorts of other services in addition to the cleaning. Plus, they try to play on your lack of knowledge of veterinary medicine, so you will buy the additional services. Many of these services are not needed. Also, the surgical blood-work is more expensive than the CBC panel. Unless your dog is having problems or is a senior, the CBC panel is always what vets should start with. There is also one doctor than seems rather over zealous when it comes to running tests and operating. They really over charge for boarding. They charge $20 a night, but they dont tell you until you get there or ask that $20 a night does not include a bed. Thats $25 a night if you want a bed, and you cant bring your own... I understand not being able to bring your own b/c dogs could destroy it, but charging for a bed is ridiculous. Then they charge $2 per medication administration. One of my dogs is on 3 medications, twice a day. That means I would pay an additional $12 a day/night in medication costs. Thats $37 a night if I want him to have a bed. They dont give them Rx diet food. I am fine bringing my own Rx diet food, but for what they charge, they should give them Rx diet food. There are other places that will give them Rx diet food, dont charge for medication administration, give them beds and charge one flat rate. We spent a lot of money at this practice, and I never felt like they appreciated it.

I called on 9/6/19 and I don’t remember who answered the phone but she was super friendly. I asked her where they accepting new patients and she said yes and she told me she had opens the follow week so I set up a appointment on 9/9/19. When we came in we where greeted and brought all he paper work we received when we adopted our puppy from the shelter. The vet tech printed us a estimate for the next 3/4 visits since we asked the price of how much it would be. We where seated in the exam room to wait for the veterinarian, With in a few minutes the doctor walked in with a vet tech and they greeted us and our puppy. After we put out puppy on 5e exam table the veterinarian and the vet tech where gentle with her. They did the exam and gave her her first shot and a pill in case she had worms or worm eggs in her. I was very well impressed with the overall services given and how they treated us and our new addition to our family. Thanks to DR. McMillian and vet staff for how they treated us and our puppy!

We really love going to the Animal Care of Greenville on 14th Street. They have nice staff members that make you feel at home. We took my cat in yesterday for an appointment, it was very difficult getting him in since he was a stray cat. We had made several appointments and had to cancel them every time. They were very understanding of our situation, and told us every time that we could try again the next day. They offered us tips on how to get a stray animal in a carrier, and they were very patient with us overall. When we finally got Bandit in to the vet, the front desk staff were very polite and friendly. It did not take long for us to get in to our room. The vet and the assistants were very quick in doing everything for Bandit. I would highly recommend going here.

Nonchalant non caring people. Literally had a dying dog in my arms and the only thing the front desk agent said was emergency fee emergency fee emergency fee. Keep in my mind this is who I usually brought my pets to before moving to Raleigh. Never thought when I moved back they would have hired the most rudest people clearly not wanting to work Saturdays. I eventually ended up having to tell the woman I didn’t care about the fee! Just help her she’s literally dying right now! She eventually ended up giving me a sticky note to the “nearest” place that could help which was actually the furthest. I luckily stopped in to the next place and they were able to help my baby. I will never give a dime to this place again.

I live in WA State and was visiting my friends in NC for a few weeks. My animals just like my family members so I take them anywhere I go (I have a dog, and just got a kitten not too long ago). Unfortunately my cat went into heat which took me by surprise and was quite embarrassing since I was staying at my friends house. I was recommended Dr. Johnsons clinic and I am very thankful to people who gave me that recommendation. I was pleased with the fast service, very friendly and understanding staff and Dr. Johnson who took time to answer all of my questions and made sure that I get the best service. I was more then satisfied with the clinic and I would definitely recommend it to anyone I know.
