I definitely recommend. She found out everything i was allergic to. She sent me to the endocrinologist about my hair loss. If she isn’t able to figure it out herself she’ll send you to someone who can. She communicates quickly via zocdoc. I’ve been going to her since undergrad, 5+ years.

Ive got nothing but good things to say about this doctor. She is very friendly, attentive, patient, listens, and she is not afraid to tell you how it is. She doesnt try to sugar coat anything. She provided a great service to my family and I. I would see her once a year but she would always remember to ask how my wife was doing. Her memory is incredible, it always felt like we continued from where we left off.I just wish she accepted my current insurance.

I booked an appointment with Dr. Meklit Workneh because I wasnt happy with my family doctor who is rushed and doesnt listen. I read a review that Dr. Meklit Workneh is thorough. I agree. Her patients are booked sufficiently far apart that an appointment with her doesnt feel rushed. Shes attentive and listens and well informed. Educated in Europe. She clearly keeps up on developments in medicine. I LOVE this doctor!

The best doctor by far Ive ever had. While her office support may need to work on their customer service skills (which has more to do with cultural differences rather than personality deficiencies), her expertise and bedside manner surpass any of the trivial issues. I look for medical expertise, punctuality and trust in a medical professional. All of which Dr. Workneh possess. I have recommended her and will be her patient as long as she is in practice and in my area.

Rude Rude Rude Rude Called Today To schedule a appointment. Very rude wasn’t helpful nor made anything clear. It’s a shame I was Treated like that on the first interaction over the phone. I even asked to speak to the office manager but was told I was speaking to her. I asked for a name “she replied you don’t need to know my name” that’s so unprofessional and that’s the person running your office, wow what a great leader. glad I got to see how you all operate before dealing actually making this office my primary care. Stay Away

Although the doctors medical service is great, her management of her office is horrible. If you run into any problems outside of appointments, she will NOT take just 15 minutes to return your calls to investigate or correct an issue, even if it involves an error that was made from within her own office (a different department, but still from within HER office). They’ll make excuses that she is always busy with patients and can never call you back, even though Zocdoc will show that she has free appointment slots all day. The front desk staff is rude, even if you’re just asking questions to understand a situation in which you’re being overcharged hundreds of dollars.Initially, there was an error in the mislabeling of 3 claims: one office visit and 2 labs. I came in for a physical, which is 100% covered by my insurance. My bill arrived, and I was charged around $325. Insurance said that my claim was mislabeled and the office just needs to resend the claims with the correct labeling and my bill should be $0.I called the office. Front desk lady: There’s nothing that we can do. We’re just the front desk. Call billing (separate business elsewhere).” I called billing. They called the doctor’s office directly and had them resend the claim with the correct labeling….guess they couldve done something after all.I called the office again and tell her that only 1/3 claims are fixed, so they still need to fix the 2 lab claims. We are just the front desk. Call the lab number on your claim. I called the lab (HQ, not the one within her office). For any corrections to mislabeled claims, we need a call directly from the doctors office. The patient has no authority to make changes to billing. I called the office to tell them this. We’re just the front desk, we dont handle labwork. The phlebotomist (within the office) does. She requested an email of my claims for the phlebotomist. I sent the email.1-2 weeks later-No updates, no call-backs. I called the office, left a voicemail asking to speak with the doctor. 1 week later-No updates, no call-backs. Left another voicemail. 1 week later-No updates. I call back. Front desk lady: We’re just the front desk. We dont deal with correcting claims. Call billing.” You already gave me that number. Im calling about the LABS now Then call the lab on your claim. Ive already called them. They said that only the doctors office has the authority to make corrections, NOT the patient. Were just the front desk. Call the phlebotomist” and then quickly hangs up.I call the phlebotomist. Uh....Im just the phlebotomist. I dont deal with coding of claims. You need to speak with the doctor directly by going through the front desk.........I call the front desk and ask for the doctor. She’s busy but will call you back if she can.1 week later-No updates, no call-backs. I call asking about updates. Ok, we’ll resend the claims. 1 week later-No updates and still a charge. I ask my insurance for help and we do a conference call. Insurance attempts to convey the same message and gets nowhere, so asks for the doctor. She’s with patients and is busy. Call back tomorrow at 9.We call at 9:30 (when the insurance lady is available) and can’t reach the doctor. She’s with patients and can’t talk on the phone. Not even after appointments.I call at 9 another day and FINALLY speak with the doctor, which is difficult since she keeps defensively interrupting. Turns out that she had been trying to reach the lab and did all that she could. There was just another issue occurring elsewhere which is why I saw no updates on my end...............Then why was this never communicated with me??? We figured out that the phlebotomist had mistakenly sent my labwork to an out-of-network instead of an in-network site, which wouldve covered my bill. Since this was the offices fault, they agreed to correct it.It had to be THIS hard to FINALLY have this TEN MINUTE conversation. Had the doctor returned ANY of my calls, we would’ve resolved this months ago. This office is a mess.

My daughter out of town doing school internship in Bowie. She called told me she was sick. Found Meklit Workneh online under Zodoc site. Site state her office accepts EmblemHealth(formerly known as GHI)- City Of New York Employees( GHI PPO). Called Meklit Workneh office told receptionist I found this office only through Zodoc and it stated that this office is a participating provider. I told receptionist my daughter was out of town. The receptionist stated yes they take that coverage. I asked was she sure to verify my insurance , that they take this coverage. I told her my daughter had a 20 min drive a wasnt feeling well so make sure you accept this coverage before she comes. She told me yes. I made 12:15 pm appointment. My daughter arrives at office and they told her she never had an appointment. I call the office receptionist said she did see appointment for her. Receptionist had accent. Sounded like the receptionist I spoke with when I made appointment. She stated it was some else. She came in 9:30 am she stated. First she tell me she had no appointment. Then I questioned her then she happens to find appointment and say they never heard of GHI insurance. But it’s stated on site and receptionist told me they accept that coverage. First of she lied. State she’s got to wait to hear from billing then she’ll tell my daughter. I requested to speak with doctor. She told she’s busy and will tell my daughter. Doctor come out tells my daughter if she knew we was from NYC she would have taken us. It says NYC on the site and states you take this insurance. Says your s participating provider!!! This process took over an hour to tell my daughter she can see her for $100 when we have insurance. Very disappointed and give wrong information. Advertising false information or Incompetent staff or both. Will be calling my insurance provider to report this
