First time there. Dr. Tira was very nice and knowledgeable. Next Anna Marie was very personable and helped navigate all my options and dealing with my insurance. I paid less for 2 pair than I did for just on at the last place.

I had the best eye exam with Dr Tira. There was quite a wait before and after my actual eye test, otherwise 5 stars. I was impressed with the friendly easy eye exam and also liked the lady that helped with glasses and contacts. The girl that got me ready for the doctor was ok but didn’t explain the tests good. Prices are very reasonable and i even was offered to switch to a less expensive but comfortable new brand of contacts when she could have just kept me in the more expensive brand that my last eye doctor gave me.

I was left there after I had my exam there was no one to help order glasses. One answering the phone and the other one was checking people in and screening. Dr. was good but if you cant order glasses then its a waste of time. I was the third person to leave.They just called and apologized.

From the initial call to the final results, top notch professional, kind and wonderful team.Delores made us feel so comfortable about coming into the store, my daughter had a script from Childrens and just needed eye wear, I needed a exam and eyewear, having two insurance companies, my former husband and mine, one primary one secondary, this team absolutely rocked it put of the park! Calling the main office to sort this all out. They were not going to let us leave, or pay for something we shouldnt have paid for, since we have excellent insurance (their words) at the end of the day, the team here made it happen with the best if attitude, on a busy Saturday morning.I highly recommend this team. It takes a village ! Markita from MANAGE CARE, worked hand in hand Flor, who worked with Marin to make this a joyful experience.

Went to America’s best for the first time about three weeks ago. Everything went ok. The doctor wasn’t friendly but wasn’t mean either. Just kind of blah. When I told her the type of contacts I wear, Bausch & Lomb monthly, she told me there was a national shortage. So she tried to put me in their brand of bi weekly contacts “the thinnest on the market”. They were fine for the first 5 hours and then it felt like I had worn them three days straight. EXTREMELY DRY! So I tried them the next day, same thing. I returned them the next week along with the 4 boxes I bought. They said I could get a different brand and would reverse the claim to insurance but the brand I prefer was still not available. I tried it and same thing, super dry. I called 1800 contacts where I used to get them form and they informed me there was no national shortage. When I called America’s best they said “I’m not sure why you were told there was a national shortage, we can definitely get those for you.” Ummm WHAT?!? Then I found out they never reversed the insurance claim on the contacts I returned. The original contacts they tried to sell me were almost $200 for a 6 month supply with insurance, the Bausch & Lomb…$35 for a 6 month supply. The only person who was any help to me at all there was Delores, when I called the final time she was accommodating, apologetic and very sweet. But Needless to say I will never be back and will never recommend.

The optometrist I saw here was thorough and efficient. Ordering contacts was difficult. The person helping me didnt understand the process for ordering and kept having to ask a coworker for help. The coworker understandably got frustrated as the questions seemed to repeat and go in circles. It probably took an extra half an hour of my day.After using two week trial lenses, I tried to get another prescription as they were drying my eyes out. The person who was supposed to help me took a week off and nobody else was able to help get new trial lenses. After a couple of weeks of waiting, I decided to just use the lenses I had purchased (before my benefits expired) instead of returning them. Lesson learned, Ill just take my money somewhere else.

Came in to get glasses for my daughter. The staff was very nice. But there are fees that were added in when ordering glasses, that were not explained. Its very deceptive. Its not just 2 glasses and an eye exam for a set price. Once we receive our glasses I will not be returning. I highly suggest you question all additional charges or take your prescription elsewhere.

The ENTIRE Staff was phenomenal, from walking in that front door, to leaving about an hour later, it was just an enjoyable experience. Talk about no pressure, I said I was there for the two pairs for $69, we took care of that and just added another exam for a miniscule $20, but that was it. Awesome.

When for free eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $69.99..Dr was very nice and friendly the girls at the front very nice...until it was time time for picking frames no one to help and the one that was to take my order was very rude I asked about what was my insurance going to cover she said you need to call even thought she had the print out in front of her and once I gave her frames I wanted she entered in the computer she comes back telling me for 2 pairs of glasses it was going to be $598 I said what she like you have to get the thinner lenses I so no I dont I really dont care for the thinner lenses they just for me to wear around the house she like no you have to order this was I was like no thats fine I will pay for the eye exam she was like ok rolled her eyes. She then said your total is $69 I was like is that with insurance she was like no.she like so you want me to submit to insurance yes please. Only paid $30 for exam and some other eye test that I had to do..Went to eyebuydirect got 2 pairs for $169 with a thinner lenses that American best was offering..

Everything started off great, exam, meting with the optometrist, checking out frames. Then, as I was placing the order for frames I picked out, the staff member I was woking with quoted $650 for two pairs of glasses??? From two pairs for under $100 to $650? Oh yeah, I thought you would want all the upgrades she said. Didnt ask, offer or explain. Just add it all on, no questions asked. Needless to say we got it down to $165 once I questioned everything. Talk about the silent upsell. Kind of causes trust issues with this office.

Always love America’s Best. You can’t beat the prices and selections. Doc’s are always knowledgeable and associates are helpful. Wait time tends to be a bit long from arrival to purchase. I always plan on 1.5 hours . Wish they could streamline this a bit more but other than that I will always return.

Organized, high COVID standards/protocols in place, and attentive to eye concerns. Provider saw soemthing concerning and recommended I see an opthamologist and indeed there was a greater issue. Manager is very hard working and tries to accomodate all customers. Thank you very much for the great service.

Disappointed in the whole process and still waiting for delivery of my glasses. Every step of the way they are trying to upsell, frames, lenses, coatings, etc. First they called, said order was delayed, OK, followed up 3 days after the new delivery date, person on the phone was very nice and helpful but the order was not in, call back in a couple more day. Did that and got someone that was bothered by my call, said to give it a couple of days. Explained that I already have done that, twice. Just kept telling me that my order was not in, give it a couple more days. She simply didnt want to be bothered or to bother anyone else.

After about two years my lens developed a tiny crack at the edge twards the middle on the left side strictly under its own stress vs the frames, no impact caused this, the crack slowly grew to almost split the lens completely. I called recently to see if I could get a new set ordered or a copy of my prescription. I was ordered by their staff to come in for a new eye exam and refused a copy of my prescription. There is a pandemic going on, I simply need to replace a defective/damaged lens. My prescription has not changed, my contacts and glasses work just fine save for the GIANT CRACK DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE LENS. Getting up close and personal with an eye doctor without need seems at the very least unreasonable, I see it as careless if not dangerous. The fact you will not provide patients a copy of their prescriptions during a pandemic is absolutely irresponsible and this company should be ashamed of its handling of this process.Thank god for glassesUSA, they have an app that can pull your prescription via smartphone/pc screen application, it was spot on and now I have a new pair of lens with NO CRACKS! I did NOT have to see someone in person unnecessarily during COVID.Americas best should be ashamed of itself the way its handling this pandemic and treating its patients.In response to you not providing lens without prescription, thats fine, just provide my damn prescription, EVERY other eye doctor Ive seen in my LIFE has no problem giving me my stats, neither did the great people at glassesUSA. They even mailed me a prescription card with my information on it! SHAME on Americas Best.... for sure quite the opposite than the name implies.Changing the company policy during a pandemic is hardly asking much and it is extremely irresponsible for you to force people into person to person exams when not needed.I will never visit any location of this institution again. I will gladly pay double for actual quality service and customer care.

It is understaffed and the workers there do try their best to accommodate my needs and yours. I walked in to get my glasses fixed and they were able to fix it for no cost. Been going here for 3 years and Ive never had a problem.

Glasses were scheduled for completion on 8-19-2020. Nobody called me to say one pair was in and the second pair was not finished as I had to call on 8-21-2020 to find this out. Since I need the glasses, I will have to make two trips to your place of business to get my glasses. I do not recommend using America’s Best.

My husband just returned from a visit to this location. As a manager in a healthcare office I was appalled by the inexcusable treatment my husband received by the salesperson. After waiting patiently (for 15 mins)while the two sales people finished the couple of customers ahead of him, and it was clear that he would/should be next, the salesperson immediately went to service the woman WHO HAD JUST walked in. Until this point my husband had remained seated as instructed and was in plain sight (right next to) the salesman. When he pointed out to the salesman that he had arrived sometime ago and had been waiting he was told that she was more important because she was a returning customer and they always take care of them 1st. My husband pointed out that he also was a returning customer, but was rebuffed with thats just the way it is. Were understaffed! NOT OK.He then left and went to the eyeglass store right across the parking lot where he was greeted, selected his purchase, placed and paid for his order in less than the time he had waited next door, despite them having several customers of their own.I, too, have used this location in the past, but no more.

Can corporate PLEASE do something about the staff at this store? The assistant manager is the rudest employee I have ever dealt with in my entire life at any company, ever! She pretty much blamed me for problems HER staff caused, and said there was nothing she could do to help me if I couldnt give her the name of the employees that did me disservice. I couldnt believe it - its not my job as a customer to keep track of your employees names! It was a mistake that cost me well over $150. I called corporate; they said they agreed the customer service was atrocious, the assistant manager and her staff were in the wrong, they would handle the problem and call me back... and they NEVER called back. Outrageous! How is this assistant manager still employed after so many complaints on Google!? How is this business still running when even their corporate staff cant follow through on making things right!? Your company just completely lost my business after YEARS, probably more than a DECADE, of having positive experiences with the staff at the Aurora location on 31. Dont worry; Ill be sharing my experience with everyone I know! It seems like your business has a SERIOUS problem on your hands given the other reviews here!

Staff used to be really good. Dr Khan was Great. Went in for an eye exam the new Doc thier I dont know his name because he never introduced himself to me could not get me out fast enough. Was told by 2 different staff members my exam was covered under my I care plan until it was time to check out. They told me I had to pay $100 for my exam. Then they sent the manager out she told me We are not selling you any contacts today and walked away. I would never go back.

Goodbye. I wont be back. Wouldnt sell me one contact lense to tide me over until their doc would see me. They had no customers and were standing around talking in a coffee clutch. Im in a walking boot after surgery and had to be driven there. Very frustrating. Going back to my original doctor to pay a little more and get the help I need. You get what you pay for. This place has terrible reviews and now I see why.

I would never recommend this place for anyone. For the first time, I wanted to schedule an eye exam and one of my friends told me that she went to this place as it was closer to her house and she had to pay only $10 copay. We both have the same insurance from the same employer. I scheduled an appointment and no one asked me anything about the insurance information. None of the staff seemed to be friendly or having a professional eye contact. Everything was so “rushed” except the long waiting in the waiting area. At the end, they told me I had to pay $81 because my insurance wouldn’t pay the eye exam and frames are covered up to $70. I was surprised but allowed them charge me. I then called the insurance and they told me they should have charged me only $10 and the frames will be covered up to $170. I called this place the next day and talked to a few different staff but didn’t get a straight answer and repeated that they have to charge me because my insurance doesn’t cover but she was NOT rude. She then connected me to a Kristi (I think that is her name), extremely rude and unprofessional. I tried to explain and she remained sarcastic and continued talking unprofessionally. Very upsetting! She then told me in a sarcastic manner, “mame, you have a very good rest of the day” after all ruining my day. I am not upset about the charge but the way she talked to me. A lot of customers don’t know anything about the coverage and these staff should be the advocates and explain what is covered and not covered. They never explained anything about the coverage but the staff who did my visual field test explained things well and was helpful and told me about the coverage for that specific test only. Overall, very disappointed!

Their doctor might be great, I have no idea, because the communication of the office staff prevented us from going!I called to make appointments for myself and my son, explaining that I needed an exam and a contact lens fitting, and that my son was coming in for his kindergarten exam. The polite man I spoke with on the phone asked if he knew his alphabet. I explained that he does, and that he can read short books, and would likely be fine for that type of exam. The gentlemen said that was fine, as long as he knew his alphabet, and booked us back to back appointments. Great!Well the day of the appointment came, I had childcare for my other children, and I had my son in the car, and we were driving to the appointment, THIRTY MINUTES before the scheduled appointment time (we were due to get there 15 minutes early, as requested.) And the lady on the phone says that their doctor will not see any child under the age of six, they don’t do idph required kindergarten exams, and she recommends a pediatric opthalmologist. For a standard, required examination. 🙄I don’t take issue with the policy... their doctor, their rules. But to have one person schedule us no problem, and then they call when we are on our way to the appointment to cancel was very frustrating and inconvenient. I was able to call Visionworks in Batavia, and get a same day appointment no problem! Customer service, communication, and clear practice policies make a huge difference! Happy to take our business elsewhere!

I had been going here for a long time and I never had a bad experience. I went back, new doctor who was lovely. However the staff which was also new... They do not know whats going on. The girl who helped me could not explain basic things about my insurance to me gave me two separate bills and still couldnt tell me why they were what they were. Ended up leaving and I come to find out after I called back and asked for the manager it was because my insurance was not in network and the girl helping me never told me that once. But found satisfaction in handing me a bill larger then the first bill? Extremely rude. When I first got there, I told them that I had a new insurance and they told me they would go through that after the fact. It felt like they were trying to scam. Definitely not going back here. The employees need to be fully trained on their system, insurance, and basic customer service. Miserable experience and a waste of time.

I have been coming here for years and Ive spent a lot of money. The only reason I use them is for the contact club. They take forever to get back to me when I call and have questions for the Dr because he never seems to be available. Today I called to ask about getting my husband and I approved for Halloween contacts. I had to call twice because the first time they said they would call me back when the Dr returned from lunch. I called again when I hadnt heard back for 3 hours. Finally they got in touch with the Dr who said due to our prescriptions we couldnt be approved for Halloween contacts which i found odd because last year they approved me for the same contacts I wanted to order again. So I asked them why I couldnt be approved if it wasnt a problem last year and they said the Dr just took a quick look because they were busy and they would put a note on my file for him to take a more in depth look and they would get back to me. Never heard back. I understand they were busy but if you dont have the time to look over my prescription or ask any questions about the lenses Im trying to purchase and give me a real answer just say you dont have time instead of giving me a half ass answer.

Its a year later and I am still upset with the service I received here. The doctor was rude and didnt have time to answer questions and had attitude. In the end I gave up after getting a constant run around trying to correct the glasses i received that were incorrect. I had a manager agree to have me pick different frames after the ones I ordered came in different from what was on display. When I showed up to do so they denied me and said the person I spoke to no longer works there. Now a year later I actually need that 2nd pair of glasses I ordered but I can not use them. I wish I could have returned the glasses and walked away.

I was employed here for 3 months, If I could 0 star I would. I started about 2-3 weeks after the new general manager started, in June, on the same day that the eyeglass manager started as well. We were not trained, NONE. At “America’s Best” We were given a book containing roughly 30 pages. That the “training” we went through in a doctors office. So We taught ourselves the machines in the pre-test room, we taught ourselves the system used to order glasses/contacts. We trained ourselves. With that being said, yes, errors were made. More errors were made when we began to lose staff and we were left with 5 people on staff. That gives us the receptionist, the pre-tester, the 2 managers, and me. The amount of stress we were under, working 6 days a week from 8am-8pm, getting breaks long enough to grab something to eat then clocking back in. By the time we would get to our lunch it would be cold. Then you add on privileged customers who are angry because they lack basic listening skills and don’t understand that YES IT WILL TAKE YOUR GLASSES/CONTACTS 2 WEEKS TO COME IN, as we’ve already said. Majority of the time the problems were not our fault. We had a doctor who couldn’t manage to go a full day without getting someone’s prescription wrong. We asked for help so many times, just to send us ONE extra person so we would all be able to eat warm food at least and we couldn’t even get that. I’ve worked in Geneva before this, absolutely hated it. It’s a beautiful place but the words I use to describe the people here; Rude, snobby, impatient, selfish, inconsiderate, and it’s really weird but everyone carries the stench of onions and dirt. SMELLY. I found myself having to hold my breath or pull myself all the way back in my chair far too many times.Toothbrushes, deodorant and showers will not kill you. Some patients were very kind, and knew how to direct their anger on the person who caused it instead of whoever was nearby. Some of you I received valuable life advice. I won’t forget that, I appreciate you. But to sum it all up, the company does not take care of their employees, the customers were not the worst part but could’ve been better. I would not advise anyone to work here unless they manage to restaff it fully. Good luck to anyone who does decide to work here, you’ll need it.

I came in with a headache because I had a broken side piece and the lady was super great at finding a new frame so when I come back and get a new frame and lense, il be able to take more time. The staff is really nice, but every single time Ive had an interaction with this location regarding ordering glasses, theyve messed something up. Once it was that the prescription for my right and left eye was switched and most recently, I asked for my prescription so I could order glasses elsewhere. They sent the prescription to me and I didnt know until after my new glasses arrived that Americas Best Geneva wrote the wrong prescription on the paper so my glasses were all wrong. I will not be going here again bc its more hassle than its worth. Id rather pay more money and have things not get messed up every single time.

Every time I get an exam the dr puts a different contact lenses brand on my exam. Even after I tell him I what brand I need. Then I have to go through the hassle of a follow up appointment to get the okay to get a different brand.The manger is rude and doesn’t know anything about contact lenses. I asked her to compare the brands the differences and she said well I don’t know I’m not a dr . They rushed me out when my glasses came, even though it was a hour till closing, they said try them on at home and if it’s not fitting come back. Typically the places have me try them on there to make sure they fit.I won’t be going back. Two times was more then enough . Horrible service

Americas Best? More like Americas Worst!!! Absolutely TERRIBLE experience! For multi-focal lenses, doctor asking whats more important seeing up close or further away. Then given a sample pair of contacts that was supposedly the prescription needed that made vision WORSE than a pair of 6 year old glasses! Dont waste your time or your money!

$550 for two pair of glasses. One pair fell apart on my face and went to get repaired. No longer stock frames, but had display model frames for $80. Frames are flimsy and fragile. Frames must be from discontinued stock from manufacturer. Once the frame breaks, you are railroaded into buying new glasses because they dont stock replaceable frames. I am certain this is NOT Americas Best by any stretch... Would give negative stars if it was possible.

I came in with my two daughters and my wife thinking that the employees would be giving me looks about my daughters, both under the age of 3 but they werent! In fact one of the desk clerks played with them while I shopped aeound for a pair.The doctor who saw me, as well as the nurse, was fantastic with paying attention to me in that moment. My dry humor was able to get them both chuckling and thinking.I had a great experience at this location and will be coming back there for my next checkup. The woman helping me was EXTREMELY rude the entire time I was trying to pick out glasses. And had the NERVE to ask me how was I even allowed to drive when she saw my prescription. (Legally blind in one eye) The doctor couldn’t get me out of the room fast enough and according to the woman who helped me isn’t their usual doc. She made plenty of rude and unprofessional comments about the doctor as well. Fast forward to when I go to pick up my glasses. I ask the women if it’s normal for me to be seeing things in a fishbowl manner. They LAUGH AT ME and say yes this is normal. Come 2 weeks later I’m struggling to see with these glasses and can’t read with them on, WELL doctor didn’t take into account that I’ve had cataract removal surgery (which I did tell him about) and THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. Due to my surgery I need bifocals also it’s not like I’m elderly or anything I had the cataracts removed at 7. I had to go in to get the correct prescription and guess what? I GOT A BILL FOR THEIR MISTAKE. They charged me for the exam I needed to fix my prescription. Paying this bill and never going back. Horrible experience from day one. No thanks America’s “best”

The dr. has horrible people skills. I took my 10 year old to get eye exam done and from the moment we went into the room he was arrogant and not professional. Telling my son I dont care what you do (in an annoyed tone)when my son said I am not going to where my glasses all the time ( in a flat tone of voice). I did not disclose my son having autism and anxiety because I like to see how the professionals treat kids in general. My son started getting anxious and the dr says well sometimes we do things we dont want to do, just do what I say (rude arrogant tone) My son started crying and the dr said okay well then go to the waiting room and do whatever you need to do and figure out if you want the exam or not (annoyed voice). That is when I told him, my son has autism and anxiety, and the way he was treating him is not professional. The dr said you need to tell me those things, I see people with autism alot, I was just responding to his attitude with attitude. I said, No from the moment we walked in here you had attitude and I should not have to disclose his anxiety or autism for you to treat him with respect, kindness, understanding. That should be given to everyone in general. He is a 10 year old. We will not be staying for the remainder of the exam.
