Dr Ricks is the absolute BEST! He’s been my OBGYN for 20 years!! He has taken such great and genuine care and of me. His office has been gracious working with me even during no insurance coverage times. When I have had insurance I have picked only plans that Dr Ricks accepts. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone searching for an OBGYN doctor. God bless him and family for his great service!πŸ™πŸΎβ€οΈπŸ˜‡

Couldn’t recommend Dr. Ricks enough. He is absolutely fantastic. I started seeing him after I watched him deliver babies in nursing school. He gave me tips and recommendations when we were trying for our son and then cared for me throughout my pregnancy. He is intelligent and very skilled. Icing on the cake is his great bedside manner. Even my 5 year old daughter loves Dr. Ricks. Take it from a nurse, he’s awesome!

He has taken excellent care of me and has made me feel as though my thoughts and concerns were not only valid but important. He always takes the time to thoroughly listen, thoroughly answer and provide excellent health care. Ive had SEVERAL miscarriages and he is the first doctor to ever care enough to take the time to find out why. My husband and I are now able to relax knowing we are in good hands while we wait for our new addition!

I have been a patient for over 20 years. he delivered my son and also performed my hysterectomy. his great bedside manner coupled with his knowledge has made him my go-to over the last 20 years. my delivery was easy and my recovery from hysterectomy was excellent due to his technique. his office staff is great and you will enjoy the experience (as much as you can in a doctors office :)

Dr Ricks pressured me to induce, saying he needed to go out of town for the weekend and my baby was β€œtoo big”. He was very fake and cold. After I was induced and my baby was born, he didn’t make it to the delivery. He walked in the room and said β€œI could’ve swore he was going to be bigger”. Then he questioned the nurse whether or not he would get paid.Hire a midwife and / or doula at a natural childbirth friendly or teaching hospital, not the Dr funded hospital he delivers at. Educate yourself on natural childbirth. The OB / medical approach in the US is inhumane with the highest rate of inductions and c-sections.

The service here feels so personal. Every staff member is kind and considerate. I lost two babies early in my pregnancies (after having two healthy children) and the immediate and continuous care from this office really helped me get through this. Currently in my 14th week of pregnancy following the two losses and receiving very thorough care. Dr. Ricks is extremely knowledgeable in many areas including the genetic mutation MTHFR. He has a wealth of knowledge to provide which I am greatly thankful for.

Dr. Jon T. Ricks is the only OB/GYN I trust. My neighbor recommended him to me back in 2007 and Ive been seeing him ever since then. I had to have a hysterectomy several years ago and he walked my husband and I both through the whole procedure and even while I was in the hospital recovering he came by at 11PM that night to check on me to make sure I was doing OK. I have only 3 physicians I trust and hes one of them and I would recommend Jon T. Ricks to anyone. Hes very professional and takes the time to explain everything to you and you dont find that in some doctors these days... :)

While still trying to figure out and understand how an institution could be so callous and unprofessional, here is what I do know. My sweet, loving, girlfriend had surgery and was denied medical comforts. She was instead given apathy, cruelty, and a lack of basic human care. Her main doctor, Jon Rick’s, failed to do his job as a physician. Repeated attempts were made to reach out to Dr. Rickβ€˜s but his call service was not set up correctly. She was in pain and was not given the correct medicines that would alleviate it. It also did not help that the nursing staff cared even less to reach the doctor to clarify agreements made in her pain management. As my girlfriends support system, I was also left in the dark as to when her surgery was completed. I was told repeatedly by the staff I would be contacted by the doctor as soon as she finished. In that time when I was to be reached and was not till 90 mins after completion, a nurse named Iris was cruel and unkind in the privacy of the post-op room to her. She was alone and felt vulnerable. Upon sharing this experience with several leading management personnel, we were still left wondering how this could have happened and saw nothing being done about it.There’s really nothing at all good to be said about this hospital, the doctors involved, or any of the staff. Private information to be held in confidence between doctor and patient were violated, standard protocols not followed, and just a general lack of concern summarizes the horrible experience we shared. Legal action is being taken in hopes this never happens to anyone one else.

I visited his office from a reference/friend and the service I received was okay-nothing highly special, but it lacked something, a feeling of total integrity. That service was provided in 2016. A year past and I received a bill for services that I did not ask for and did not need- totaling up to $500.00. The first time I called I was able to explain the situation. Never received a return phone call there after. 7 weeks have past by. I called many times there after to get this problem rectified and Im having the toughest time getting a return call for answers and explanations. Im beyond frustrated and planning to take them to small court if nothing happens soon. If I could give them a negative score I would. Now, I have to pay this bill for services that I never requested. Horrible and uncaring service and people!

If I could give a negative review I would! Do NOT go to this office! This was the WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had in any medical office in my life. I cannot express how truly unsatisfied I am with the way I was treated by the front desk as a NEW PATIENT. They were so unprofessional and uncaring! I completely rearranged my entire day to work around their earliest available appointment they could offer me, which I waited a month for. I showed up EARLY for my appointment like most offices would appreciate with a NEW PATIENT, not this office apparently!!! They informed me that I was not on their schedule after leaving my office, taking extra time off that I will not be paid for and driving from Allen to Frisco (absolute waste of gas=more money). I asked them to check again because I made the appointment over a month prior and then was informed that I was on a reschedule list! What!? No one contacted me prior to showing up for an appointment that they apparently forgot to reschedule!!! Not ONE person apologized or even seemed to care that they had completely inconvenienced me, cost me money and time! As a professional person my time is important and I do not appreciate people wasting my time and acting like I did something wrong by showing up for a supposed appointment, this could have been alleviated with a simple phone call or even an apology would have smoothed things over but none of those courtesies were offered. I do not care if Dr. Ricks is the best doctor in the world I would NEVER set foot in that office again, even if you paid me! I was referred to his office by several of my patients and I am so upset that I was treated this way and made to feel stupid for doing everything I should have as a New Patient. If you are looking for a new doctor look elsewhere because they clearly do not value anyones time!!!

This review is long overdue for Dr Ricks, Dr Rogenes, Dr Laferney, and the rest of the Baylor Frisco staff that took care of me two years ago when I had my hysterectomy and transvagional sling. I am not one to enter into surgery easily, and did so after I had absolutely no doubt that I would have the best outcome and care. As Dr Ricks and Dr Rogenes operating room nurse, I watched first hand (for several years) the care that all three doctors take when our doctors and hospital staff care for patients at the hospital. I chose Dr Laferney, Dr Ricks, and Dr Rogenes to be my physicians. I experienced nothing but the best of care from Dr Ricks and Dr Rogenes and office and professional staff. I feel that my care is evident of the level of care that every patient who comes through this hospital facility experiences. The hospital staff was quick to assist me in any care concerns I had. The staff was always on top of any pain I experienced. But, I did not have any pain. I followed the doctors orders prior to and after surgery. I was even up walking the hallways the next day after my surgery. I have been to other area hospitals for surgery in the past and Baylor Frisco is the best facility I have ever had surgery at.Id to address prior recent reviews left on this site. I am shocked at the lengths some people will go. I personally know nurse Iris and I can tell you she is one of the finest nurses we have here. Her knowledge base as a nurse is incredible, and I would have been happy to have been a patient in her care or any of our fine post operative nurses at this facility.

I am so thankful to have found Dr. Ricks! I am 45 years old and have had horrible menstrual cycles for several years. Very painful and extremely heavy; to the point it was affecting my personal and professional life. Ive even had to cancel and reschedule business travel around it because it has been debilitating. Id been seeing my previous doctor for years, who just continued to do ultrasounds & run tests...but found nothing and offered no solutions. Plus, she hurt me every time I went to see her. I quite literally left her office crying...every time. A 45 year old woman, crying, from a stupid pap smear appointment. Finally, out of utter frustration, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ricks, who was the OBGYN of several friends and my daughter. In fact, hed just delivered my first grandchild! And I was extremely impressed with his caring and GENTLE care for my daughter. What a great decision!!! He actually LISTENED to me and was genuinely interested in helping me. After 2 appointments, and a simple exploratory procedure, he determined that I had severe endometriosis (something my doctor of 10 years had apparently missed !?!?) and scheduled me for a hysterectomy. Id been asking my previous doctor about that for years and she would never do it. Quite literally, after only 2 months of being Dr. Ricks patient, the problem was identified...the surgery performed...and now, not even 4 months after my first appointment with Dr. Ricks...I am fully recovered and feeling better than I have in 10 years! As long as Dr. Ricks continues to practice, and the women in my family have need for an OBGYN - we will ALL be patients of Dr. Ricks!

I had crippling pain during my cycle and have had stomach issues for twenty years. Dr. Ricks is the first doctor who listened to me. He is my hero. He saved me from a long life of suffering. My story: Ive been to two gastrointestinal doctors, three primary care doctors and six OB/GYN doctors. One Gastro doctor (TDDC) did a colonoscopy biopsy and endoscopy biopsy five years ago and assumed I have IBS. Wrong! And, they never followed up with a treatment plan like they promised. Fast forward twenty years and I finally got answers! I went to the ER on 3/8/17 after experiencing a new level of unbearable pain. It was different than the level of crippling pain I experience each month. I wasnt sure if I should go to my Gastro doctor, gyno, or primary care doctor so I thought the ER would help identify the issue and point me in the right direction. Texas Health Emergency Room in Frisco, TX is great. They gave me an IV, took blood, took a pee sample, did a cat scan and ultrasound (OUCH). My white blood cell count was super high so they thought it might be appendicitis. Ultimately they found it was a 5 cm complex hemorrhagic left ovarian cyst. It is extremely painful to have this type of cyst while menstruating. High pain can cause your white blood cell count to be high. They helped me manage the pain and said I needed to contact my gyno. I contacted Dr. Gwen Websters office but she was out of town all week. I later learned that her being out of town was a blessing in disguise! Although, at the time, I thought it was a nightmare and bad timing. God had a plan for me. I believe He wanted me to finally get relief and answers. My coworker wanted me to go to her gyno, Dr. Jon T. Ricks, M.D., P.A. I did not want to go to a man gyno! Dr. Gwen Webster once told me, men have no business being gynecologists. I used to think that was true and kind of funny. However, my opinion has changed. I 100% disagree with my former doctors opinion now. Yes, thats right former. I called and told them I was no longer going to see her and they said ok and did not ask why. They will find out when they see her review. My coworker did not think Dr. Ricks would be able to get me in because hes always booked. She said hes been voted the best doctor in Dallas and has shared many touching stories about things he has done for her, her family and friends. They may not have kids if it were not for Dr. Ricks. They kept having miscarriages. Dr. Ricks identified and fixed the problem and now they have kids. I called her doctors office and they happened to have an opening the next morning. I am confident that was a blessing! Dr. Ricks asked me a lot of questions and listened to everything I had to say about my history and how I was currently feeling. Dr. Ricks has the best demeanor, is intelligent, professional, listened to me and provided me with all my options. I was comfortable around him and felt at ease. After my visit I knew I found the man who would change my life for the better and relieve me of my pain. Three weeks later at my follow up appointment an ultrasound showed the chocolate cyst was still there. Dr. Ricks and I talked about the next step which was surgery. Dr. Ricks told me while he was in there hed check for endometriosis and take care of it if thats what he found. I had surgery on April 4th. After my surgery Dr. Ricks told me, with an empathetic tone, that he could not fix everything during surgery, but he had a plan to do so. He told me I have stage four endometriosis and that my ovary and rectum are stuck together. I immediately asked if I could have kids. He put his hand on my hand and said hed get me there and shared a story of how he helped someone else in a similar situation (a case just as bad as mine) get better and have kids. I believe him. I went to my follow up two weeks later and Dr. Ricks went over the treatment plan with me. I will be better in six months! Dr. Ricks is the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I feel so blessed to have found him!
