Management turn over is every few months. Rooms not move in ready. New management is HORRIBLE! They treat the staff terribly. Many of the care givers and nurse have quit. The food is not as good as it appears. In fact, residents were served RAW chicken recently. If you care about your loved ones, dont pick this Assisted Living.I just want to say THANK YOU to the care givers and nurse. You deserve to be treated fairly and with respect! You deserve so much better!

My In-law lives at Windhaven Senior Living and have lived here for about 4 Months. New ownership that has actually fulfilled on their promises. They have asked some residents to leave because they need more care and the families are upset, disturbing the peace for all the residents. On the flipside, they could just let your parents living in the community and spiral further downward with their health issues. Food seems to be pretty good and residents well cared for.

This facility had a recent management change now managed by Frontier management. I have seen positive changes to the community and the quality of care and follow through. Previous management was horrible and did not know the state compliance laws. My grandma loves the meals and staff.

Not what it began as. Facility is run by Ohana Ventures in Oregon. Everything has changed for the worst beginning in November 2020. The caregivers are doing EVERYTHING they possibly can but management is below poor. Rooms havent been cleaned in months, staff have become a revolving door. New management continue lip service on changes but nothing happens. We were promised ratios of 1:4 and 1:8 in the evenings. This is NOT THE CASE! The management company doesnt listen either. They dont follow state rules or even know what they are and are only interested in the bottom line. Please make sure you take a close look if choosing this facility. Ask for resident family members to speak with as the pictures and info on the website is completely inaccurate. Safety is a main concern. During a recent tornado warning, my family member wasnt even checked on and was very alarmed. This is not what we signed on for. Read the recent reviews. Last years are accurate but no longer the case. All the recent reviews are correct. Be aware that the rates they are currently offering are not what ANY of the former residents are paying. The former residents have received nothing except lip service and nothing at all for what they have endured. The current management is known for running other staff members down which is never a good thing either. Do your homework is all I suggest. Yes, the facility WAS one of the best but now it is definitely one of the WORST!

Everything promised at the initial meeting was not delivered upon. The staff changed shortly after move-in and was incompetent, inefficient, uncommunicative, and even after numerous calls, we still did not receive answers to questions or return calls when promised. Most of the caregivers at the facility were working hard to provide good care but staff had been cut, and there simply were not enough caregivers for the needs of the memory care unit, as promised. The food was changed from being prepared in each building to being prepared at one building and shuttled over to the other buildings, arriving cold and with a big decline in quality. We were only allowed to visit outside on the patio even though Gov. Abbotts Essential Caregivers Act had been enacted in September and when we brought this to their attention, they had no idea of the policy or procedures involved, which would have allowed us to see our mother inside in a warm and safe environment. Most of the last 6 weeks of our mothers life we were not allowed to be with her except a few times, outside on a freezing patio, with the ceiling fans going at a high speed, which the staff told us could not be turned off. The on-staff nurse was literally unavailable and NEVER returned one phone call or followed up with the family, even regarding falls, emergency room trips, medication changes, and hospice initiation. We were notified only by caregivers within the building, and NEVER the nurse or Administrator, of major health situations, including the sudden change and alert that our mother was in the last stages of life. The nurse and the main administrator did not contact us and lacked compassion in any form during the entire process, even when finally showing up in her room. The day after our mother passed, we heard not one word from the facility. This facility was taken over by a management company in another state and seems to be ONLY concerned with profit and bringing in their own people, who seem to have absolutely NO clue how to run this type of facility, and frankly dont seem to care to learn. We gave every opportunity to be patient and to attempt to share concerns with little to no response or change. DO NOT SEND your loved one here. There are many other wonderful facilities available.

I had a family member who worked there. They are always understaffed and do not treat the caregivers or medtechs well at all. They never have staff, they will have the workers work in multiple buildings because there is not enough employees and the company doesnt have enough money to hire more. The management doesnt care about anything but making money to get out of the severe debt theyre in. All the good recent reviews are from the management staff. Both Elliot and Laura actually work in management, so it says a lot about the company that they are resorting to having the office workers write reviews. It is also amazing how the company wants to claim all the new bad reviews are spam instead of actually owning up to the fact that the facility has went downhill. They are practically calling the families liars by reporting their reviews.Update:Hello Gail, I saw your response however I would like to address the fact that you seem to be criticizing me for leaving a negative review although you wanted to bring up free speech. Free speech is also demonstrated by how others left reviews, however you did not like those and claimed they did not reflect the community as so you reported them. We could use that as a wonderful example of how you did not want them to express their free speech and therefore reported it as spam. I have no intention of calling this facility and talking about this situation. My sole intention was to let families know what they will get themselves into moving here—unprofessionalism. Which is what is demonstrated when you are commenting me on leaving a review behind my screen.

I’ve been with Windhaven for a long time. I’ve worked in all aspects of our community, from Caregiver to Activity Director to Marketing Director. There have been ups and downs during my tenure, but with the new management things are better now than they have ever been. They truly care about all of our residents and staff. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.

We recently moved my grandmother out of this facility. When she first moved in, it was a family atmosphere where everyone seemed to care. We were able to get answers when needed and had any issue corrected immediately. Food was amazing from Freddy who my grandmother loved dearly. That all had changed when everyone that was there had left and grandma then had poor care, a cycle of employees coming and going as well as management that has come in and ruined what Windhaven was when we moved grandma in. It is not the locally owned as they advertise. It is very hard to get a hold of anyone half of the time and when we did, nobody knows anything about what is going on or we get told lies about anything we ask. The food went from amazing dishes to soups and sandwiches. They had several cases of Covid which was not really communicated to the families. We had found out through other families that were advised when state showed up on many occasions. Rooms were not being cleaned and the building grandma was in really looked horrible when we moved her out. It looked nothing like it did when she moved in. I was in shock when I saw what the community had gone to when we were able to see her. Some of her friends that she sat with have moved out, which made her want to leave. She is doing so much better at the community we moved her over to. She is happy again and gaining the weight back she lost. I would not recommend Windhaven any longer. It is truly not what we originally loved for grandma.Gail, I saw your reply in regards to what I have said and I will not be reaching out to anyone at Windhaven. When we reached out when grandma was there, nobody wanted to listen and we were told lies about how everything was going to be fixed and getting much better. The fact that she has moved out and now everyone wants to get involved in issues or complaints really shows how nobody ever listened there in the first place. I really hope families that are still there and families considering moving in take a hard look at everything that is going on. This community has taken a turn for the worst and with the people in charge, it is not going to get any better.

From the moment I stepped foot into the main office on the premises, I knew this would be the perfect place for my mom. I had the pleasure of receiving an incredible and thorough tour from Ginger, who is a doll! She’ll take great care of you! Then again, so will anyone else.☺️This property hit the head on the nail when combing the feelings of “comfort & home”, as well as functional, contemporary and modern...all at the same time! While walking around the premises I saw one of the chefs in Building A, core a WHOLE fresh pineapple and slice it up perfectly for a resident! As in beach vacation style! I was blown away. The caretakers are not what come to mind when you think of a Senior Living Facility. Each one of those ladies take pride in their job and treat their residents like their own family. It doesn’t even feel right calling it a “Senior Living Facility” because you feel as if you’re at an all inclusive resort! Literally cannot think of one negative about this place! I was not looking forward to finding a place for my momma, and I dreaded every Facility we had to walk through, on top of my obsession with cleanliness... you can only imagine what goes through my mind... I can tell you right now; if you don’t at least check this place out before you make your final decision on where to place your loved one(s)... you are going to regret your decision. 👌🏼

My aunt has lived here for some time now. (I am keeping her name disclosed because I do not want this to affect her). The care staff has changed over from when we moved her in. The good employees have left. We do not recognize anyone anymore. The new management that took over at the end of last year is just awful. After trying to call repeatedly and leaving voicemails, even during business hours, my family cannot get a response back regarding her care. My aunt’s appearance has drastically changed. She has lost weight, looks genuinely unhappy, and overall just not taken care of. Her “neighbors” have moved out. My family and I can tell why. She will not be there much longer if the lack of care and communication continue like this.

We toured here recently and were disappointed. Laura showed us around the property. She had to be new or normally not give people tours. She did not seem knowledgeable of the community and kept calling us the wrong names even after we corrected her. After a while it seemed intentional. She could only answer a few of the questions I had and did not know the answers to the majority. We planned our afternoon for this tour but Laura seemed very rushed like she did not have the time for us. The outside of the buildings looked beautiful but I cannot say the same about the inside. The building we toured smelt foul as soon as we walked in. No residents were to be seen. The staff looked unhappy. The place did not even look like the pictures online. I would not move my parents into this place or even waste my time looking at the property again.Suggestion: look elsewhere. Not worth wasting your time.

We agree with the many POSITIVE comments made about Windhaven Senior Living. The staff is caring, friendly, seeks solutions, and they see my father as a family member. The facility is clean (no industrial smell) and well kept up. It is warm and inviting to its residents and those visiting. We spent many hours visiting other facilities, interviewing/observing staff and Windhaven checked all the boxes for my Fathers needs and wants.

Excellent Place for your Elderly Parent! PRIVATELY OWNED! Owners on property everyday to handle any concerns or needs. My Moms care was sub par (to say the least, plus more expensive!) at another local Senior facility and I needed some place that I new she would get the care she needed and give me peace of mind when I was away. She loves the food! She loves the staff and could not be happier! Its more of a smaller boutique type setting and easy for staff to make sure people are out and about and not just sitting in their rooms. I highly recommend!

Windhaven is a beautiful brand new facility. The staff is friendly and courteous and all seemed to love working there. I watched them interact with the residents and one was nicer than the next. They had a great rapport and seemed to genuinely care about each other. Could not believe how clean, bright and airy Windhaven was. I had toured many different facilities in the past and most were dark and dirty with a hospital feel. Windhaven is homey and warm. There are great amenities (think beauty shop!) and a chefs kitchen and dining room in each building. I left thankful that there are places that put resident happiness, safety and comfort above all. Check it out, worth a tour!

Moved my mom to Windhaven from a competitor about a year ago. Could not have made a better choice! Incredibly friendly and courteous staff that treats the residents as if they were caring for their own parents. Food quality is unlike any in the industry; all food is prepared from scratch in an open kitchen. Incredibly Clean! THANKS WINDHAVEN!!!
